Ant-Man is in tiny size handing out treats to his ant friends. He says that they might seem insignificant, but that from this size he knows better. Cassie picks her father up in between two fingers and asks him how he knows. Scott says that he got his helmet from a friend of his, and it allows him to talk to the insects. Scott says that his friend also taught him how to shrink and to grow right back. Scott returns to normal size. Cassie asks her father why he gave it to him. Scott pinches her cheek and says that it is because they both like bugs. Cassie hugs Scott and says that she wishes she could be there all the time. Scott hugs her back and says that he does too. Jarvis enters and says that he is sorry to interrupt, but that Cassie’s stepfather is there to pick her up. Scott asks if it is five o’clock already. Jarvis offers Cassie some cinnamon cookies for the ride home. Cassie says no thank you and that she isn’t hungry. As Scott walks Cassie to the door he asks her if she likes her new stepfather. Cassie goes silent and says that her mother does. Blake asks Cassie if she is ready to go. Cassie says that she guesses so. Blake says that he had a heck of a time getting through security. He says that they ran his fingerprints and searched him. He says that he is a police officer. Scott tells Blake that they’re just doing their job. He says to say hello to Peggy. Cassie and Scott say goodbye. After they leave, Jarvis reminds Scott that with Yellowjacket still absent that Iron Man has asked that Scott take care of Jack of Hearts. Scott says that he knows. He asks if there is any word on Jennifer.

She-Hulk tries to hit Wanda with the pillar. A radio is playing music, but She-Hulk tells it that she wants quiet and smashes it. Wanda tries to call out to Jennifer. She figures that all she has to do is age the gamma radioactivity in She-Hulk’s body until it is inert. She-Hulk growls as Wanda tries. She-Hulk roars that “Witch” is trying to make her weak. She says, “Weak like Jennifer! She-Hulk hates Jennifer!” She-Hulk charges Wanda, but Iron Man smashes through the wall and tackles She-Hulk. She-Hulk sends Iron Man flying back out through the hole in the wall he made. Cap grabs Wanda and shields her from some of the collapsing building. Wanda says that she thought she could talk to She-Hulk and that she didn’t want to fight. Wanda says that she is much stronger than usual. She-Hulk shouts that Cap and Wanda are nothing to her. Iron Man flies through the wall again. He grabs Cap and Wanda’s hands and flies them out of the building. She-Hulk says that she smells something just before the gas explodes and destroys the building.

At Avengers mansion, Jack is sitting at a table looking at his watch. Ant-Man comes in and asks what he is doing. Jack says that he is doing what he always does… counting the seconds. Jack’s watch says that there are 12 minutes ad 15 seconds left before he has to go back into the Zero Room. As they walk down to the Zero Room, Scott tells Jack that he saw his daughter today. He says that it is hard being cut off from the ones you love. Jack says that Scott’s life is a picnic compared to being trapped for 14 hours a day. Jack asks if Scott knows how much it hurts when the radiation is ripped from his body cell by cell. Scott says that it is always about Jack. He says that he tries to talk with him, but that Jack just talks at him. Scott says that he doesn’t think Jack is a team player because he only cares about himself. He asks Jack if he even knows what he did to She-Hulk. Jack starts to answer, but Scott cuts him off and says that he doesn’t. Scott says that he sucked the gamma radiation out of her blood, and that now she is running around scared like her fugitive cousin. Scott tells Jack that he ruined She-Hulk’s life. Scott opens the Zero Room and asks if Jack ever wonders why they put a time lock on the room. Jack says that it was a precaution, but Scott says that he thinks it is because no one trusts Jack. Scott says that some of them think that he did this to She-Hulk on purpose. Jack swears that he didn’t know, but Scott just tells him to shove it and that he doesn’t have to deal with him for fourteen hours. Scott pushes the button and closes the door. Jack repeats that he didn’t mean to. He says that he is sorry. The countdown from fourteen hours begins.

Sheryl shouts that it isn’t the Hulk. She tries to tell them that it is the woman, but instead she gives up, tells them to listen, and holds up the phone. She-Hulk screams, “She-Hulk mad!” She-Hulk throws cars at the people and tells them to go hide like Jennifer. Iron Man scoops up the people and flies them to safety. Iron Man tells Cap that She-Hulk’s strength is approaching Hulk like levels. Wanda says that they need to get her out of town. Wanda says that She-Hulk is afraid and that it is fear that triggers the transformation. She-Hulk yells at the power line structure. Wanda apologizes as she hexes the construct. The steel falls apart and She-Hulk is shocked by the electricity. She-Hulk says that she is dizzy and yells at the ground to stop spinning. She-Hulk slams the ground and sends Cap, Iron Man, and Wanda falling in. Iron Man blasts the falling pieces. She-Hulk says that she will make everyone afraid. Hawkeye says, “Hey, green jeans. You don’t scare me. Now how ‘bout a kiss for ol’ Hawkeye?”

Avengers Files rating: 7 out of 10

It’s a nice smash ‘em up story, but the best writing comes when She-Hulk is not “on screen”. However the art is better with She-Hulk’s portion. It’s nice that Hawkeye is back, but this seems like a bit of a stretched out issue.
