| Doctor Strange | Dumb Magician | Doctor Strange is likely the only character who the Defenders could call a true leader, his knowledge of the mystic arts makes him the most versatile members of the team. |
| Incredible Hulk | Hulk is Hulk | The Hulk, mainly the childlike green one, is very innocent and simple minded. He often creates a lot of conflict among different team members but he is very sweet and gets along with the little 3 quite well. |
| Namor | Fish-Man | The leader of Atlantis, Namor is often more interested in protecting his people than working with the Defenders and often clashes with the Hulk. |
| Silver Surfer | Shiny-Head | The Silver Surfer was never much of a Defender. He was brought in late in the game and then left for a long period of time, but he is cursed along with the other Defenders. |
| Nighthawk | Bird-Nose | Kyle Richmond used to be a member of the Squadron Sinister until he stumbled onto a plot for them to destroy the world. He allied himself with the Defenders against them and has been a stable member since. |
| Valkyrie | Sword-Girl | A member since very early on of the first series, the Valkyrie was originally placed in the body of Barbara Norris, however in the new series there is a new Valkyrie. |
| Hellcat | Cat-Girl | Hellcat is just hanging around since no one else wants her. ;) |
