When Gamma People Attack!
Unlike it's prototype "When Ionic People Attack" the gamma people version has the more difficult to judge "plan" fights. All the ionic people get in there and mix it up. Some of the gamma people don't really have anything going on in the physical powers department. In these cases victory in a fight will be judges either by the fight the mental powered gamma person sent out, or by whether the goal that gamma person sent out was achieved or not.
Tales to Astonish #60-61- Hulk vs. Leader I
The Leader sends out a spy to steal an indestructible suit that Bruce Banner had designed for studying ground zero of a nuclear explosion. Hulk manages to knock Leader's spy (in the suit) into a "bottomless pit", but also manages to get himself captured because of it. You have to wonder when this indestructible suit will resurface.
WINNER: None, neither gets what they want. SCORE: Hulk 0, Leader 0
Tales to Astonish #62- Hulk vs. Leader II
Leader sends the Chameleon after his last spy to find out what happened. The Hulk stops the Chameleon and saves Betty from the Chameleon's trap.
WINNER: Hulk, SCORE: Hulk 1, Leader 0
Tales to Astonish #63- Hulk vs. Leader III
The Leader sends out his newly invented humanoid out to stop the transport, and steal a nuclear device of Banner's creation. Hulk defeats the humanoid when he knocks out Leader's connection to the thing and it can no longer be destroyed. Hulk has to safely remove the device, but it was clearly a win for Hulk.
WINNER: Hulk, SCORE: Hulk 2, Leader 0
Tales to Astonish #64-65- Hulk vs. Leader IV
Leader is again trying to steal Banner's technology. Leader has a number of humanoids attack the Hulk. The fight ends when the ground they are on collapse and Hulk and the humanoids fall into the water.
WINNER: Nobody really wins here. Leader doesn't get what he wants, but that has more to do with Talbot than Hulk. SCORE remains: Hulk 2, Leader 0
Tales to Astonish #68- Hulk vs. Leader V
Leader has turned his humanoids into microscopic size. He dusts Astra island where Banner's Absorbatron is located. He uses a radio activated impulse to grow them. Bruce Banner hulks out and a fight ensues. The sheer numbers of the humanoids overwhelms Hulk and when the humanoids gas him the Hulk goes down.
WINNER: Leader, SCORE Hulk 2, Leader 1
Tales to Astonish #69 - Hulk vs. Leader VI
Leader takes the Absorbatron and the Hulk back to his hideout. He wants to study the Hulk, but he can't find a needle that will draw the Hulk's blood. When Leader is gone Hulk turns into Bruce. Bruce gets up. Leader releases gas when he sees that Hulk is missing hoping it will knock him out again. Bruce hulks out and starts chasing after the Leader. Leader gets away, but his plans are foiled as he doesn't get to study the Hulk and the Absorbatron is wrecked by the Hulk.
WINNER: Hulk, SCORE: Hulk 3, Leader 1
Tales to Astonish #70-71- Hulk vs. Leader VII
Leader dispatches the 500 foot humanoid. The army fires a deadly missile at the humanoid. Hulk grabs Rick Jones and gets him clear of the blast. The army puts down the humanoid.
WINNER: the United States Army actually, SCORE: Hulk 3, Leader 1
Tales to Astonish #72- Hulk vs. Leader VIII
The Hulk agrees to join the Leader when the army has Hulk cornered inside a cave. The cave starts to collapse on Hulk and Hulk figures what does he have to lose. The Leader shows the Hulk around his base. Eventually Hulk collapses in a heap and Leader reveals that since he arrived Hulk has been breathing a gas that Leader is immune to.
