Hulk chronology continued........

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #436- The army shows up at the Danner’s door. Betty calls Bruce at Max’s and tells him to run. Matt Talbot, Glen Talbot’s nephew, captures Betty. Hulk is preparing to leap to help Betty, but Max makes Hulk realize that Betty is only bait for him. Later Hulk watches his house on the news. Six hours later Matt Talbot decides that he is tired of waiting for Hulk. He drags Betty out onto the front lawn in front of the news cameras and shoots Betty in the leg. Hulk bursts through the roof leaping towards his house. As Hulk comes to land he is blasted out of the sky. Hulkbuster suits drop from the sky. The leader tells them to stay out of Hulk’s reach. They fire on Hulk. Hulk watches as Matt holds a gun on Betty, and gets angrier and angrier. Hulk knocks one of the Hulkbusters into another one. They hit Hulk with the sonics. Hulk is stunned. Matt Talbot decides that Hulk needs another incentive. He shoots Betty in the other leg. Hulk freaks. He smashes the two Hulkbusters holding him and leaps at Talbot. Hulk leaps at him, but Savage Banner lands. Talbot knocks out Banner with the butt of his gun. They take Banner prisoner and Betty spits in Talbot’s face.

Cutting Edge #1- Bruce shouts defiantly inside his cell. One of the soldiers wonders why they even need a cage, but the other says that Bruce could change at any second. He starts recalling stories of Hulk’s strength and flinches when Bruce roars at him. Omnibus is using Talbot to test the limits of Hulk’s powers using Ringmaster and a machine that shows mental projections. They show Savage Banner the Hulk doing different things. They then show him Thing and Rhino, which only fuels his anger. Suddenly Betty appears without Ringmaster’s control. She calms Bruce down and he changes into the Hulk. Hulk smashes through the bars, but they quickly reform. Suddenly Ringmaster has lost control of the machine. It starts randomly pulling images from people’s minds. Hulk realizes that the bars aren’t there, closes his eyes, and walks through. Hulk starts fighting the mental projection of a giant boar. Hulk lands on the back of Ringmaster’s fear, a giant Uncle Sam that sent his family back into Germany to die. Suddenly sand whips around from the fears of Desert Storm from some of the soldiers. Hulk shields the people from a missile. Hulk takes Ringmaster and Talbot so they can disable the machine if they can find it. Hulk sees Betty in chains. Hulk frees Betty and continues fighting off other people’s fears. Hulk realizes that the Betty with him might be a mental projection, but he wants her to be real. They imagine something to eat and suddenly they find themselves in Dystopia and Janis being crucified. The Maestro stands there. Maestro starts manhandling Hulk until Betty sicks her teddy bear protector on him. The bears eat Maestro to a skeleton. Betty and Hulk think that to find the machine all they need is the cord that connects to it. Betty finds a thread and they follow it to the center of the problem. They see a giant spider with face of the Leader. Hulk leaps in to fight, but suddenly his worst fear comes to pass as he watches Betty get old and die. Hulk sees the cord and leaps onto the machine. The machine breaks just as Hulk freaks out and reverts to Savage Banner. Banner is incarcerated again.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #437- Largo takes Betty out of the hospital with him. Savage Banner sits in his cell exhausted and about to fall asleep. Talbot blasts a loud horn sound into the cell to keep him awake. Two of Omnibus’ mind controlled thralls Talbot and Senator Reb Ralston talk about executing Hulk. Ralston says it’s in the President’s hands now. Largo introduces Betty to the Head Shop- Dead Head, Headgear, Headmistress, and Thunderhead. They want the Hulk to help them get revenge on Leader. Bruce is still pounding on his cell walls when the Head Shop breaks him out. They open his cell and Bruce runs out and starts attacking Largo. Largo gets Banner to come with them. One of the soldiers throws a grenade. Thinking himself to be seven feet tall and invulnerable instead of under six feet and puny, Bruce runs up to the grenade. The grenade explodes and fills Bruce with shrapnel.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #438- The Head Shop run back to the getaway jet carrying Banner. They force Betty to take off. After they are in the air Betty goes back to see Bruce. She talks softly to Bruce and starts to cry when she thinks about losing him. Bruce calms down and turns into the Hulk. His skin is another color, and his attitude is more abrasive. Later Headgear scans Hulk and says that he has shrapnel all through his body and his brain. Hulk dismisses it quickly saying that his thought process is fine. Headgear points out the skin color change, but Hulk dismisses this too and says that it isn’t the first time. Betty tries to interject, but Hulk shouts, “What is your problem anyway?” Hulk stops and apologizes to Betty. Headmistress asks if Hulk has any friends that could help him. Hulk starts laughing. He says he has no friends, only enemies. Hulk gets an idea. He says that Leader once took a bullet out of his head. The Head Shop say that they broke Hulk out of jail to get revenge on Leader. Hulk says that it is a little late for that since the Leader is dead. Hulk says that he is going to Freehold to see if there are some notes or equipment he could use. The Head Shop want to see first hand that Leader is dead, but Hulk says forget it. Thunderhead stands in Hulk’s way, but Hulk throws him down. Betty says that it doesn’t have to be this way. Hulk says it does, kisses her on the forehead, and leaps through the ceiling. Largo has to protect Betty from the falling rubble. Hulk lands and starts an insane laugh. He hangs his head wondering what is happening to him. Hulk is leaping past Mount Rushmore when the Alliance blows it up.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #439- Hulk stands near Freehold. Hulk sits hallucinating mushroom clouds and Betty’s face when Ogress blasts Hulk in the back. Hulk looks up to see Ogress landing on him after a giant leap. Hulk kicks her in the back of the head, and then dodges a few of Hotshot’s blasts. Hulk grabs Ogress’ arm and tells Hotshot that he is there in peace, but if he doesn’t take him to Freehold that Ogress will be in pieces. Hotshot says that Hulk is bluffing. Hulk dislocates Ogress’ arm, and then gets ready to break her back unless Hotshot takes him down into Freehold. Hulk walks through Freehold. He sees all the people starring at him. He figures they are scared since the last time he was there he and AIM almost destroyed the place, but he still can’t stop himself from screaming at them. Omnibus greets Hulk. Hulk tells Omnibus to take him for X-rays and that he will tell him the rest from there. Omnibus looks at the x-rays and says that obviously Hulk has metal fragments through his body and head. Omnibus asks what Hulk wants him to do about it. Hulk says that the Leader had machinery that helped the bullet he once had stuck in his head. Omnibus says that he doesn’t know about it, but that he can try to recreate it. Omnibus adds that he is nowhere near as smart as the Leader was. Omnibus offers Hulk a place in Freehold since the Alliance may soon destroy the world. Omnibus shows Hulk all the destruction and that he would be safe with them. Hulk mumbles that it is exactly as the Maestro said it would be. Hulk grabs Omnibus and says that he must be in control of the attacks. Omnibus says that that is insanity. Hulk drops Omnibus because of the word insanity. Hulk says that there are too many innocents and that the world needs a place to focus their anger. Hulk says that he can use HIM to be their target. Omnibus asks who Hulk is talking about. Hulk turns around and he is the Young Maestro. Later on the destroyed faces of Mount Rushmore the Maestro says that he is the head of the Alliance to the news cameras.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #440- flashback- Maestro leaps by and destroys the top of a skyscraper as he goes.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #440- flashback- Maestro wakes up Betty in bed. Betty is stunned. She tells Maestro to tell her that he isn’t responsible for the Alliance. Maestro says that he is not, but that the world needs a scapegoat. Betty says that he isn’t thinking straight, but Maestro just says that they are going to hunt him down sooner or later anyway. Betty says that it’s insane. Maestro shouts at her to stop saying that. He walks to the window and stares out. He says, “I loved you before we even met.” Maestro leaps out the window.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #440- Thor and Maestro go at each other. Thor smashes Maestro away with his hammer. Maestro falls through the ice. Thor hurls his hammer, but Maestro leaps over it and punches Thor. Maestro’s head reels back from Thor’s blow. Thor and Maestro lock up in a test of strength. The ice below their feet cracks and both go plummeting beneath the water. Thor comes rocketing out of the water on the wrong end of a Maestro punch. Thor is tossed into the air as Maestro breaks through the ice beneath him. Thor catches his hammer in mid-air. Thor strikes Maestro with lightning and then flies in on his scrunched over foe. Maestro gets up and leaps at Thor. They collide. Elsewhere Talbot orders that “the bomb” be dropped on Thor and Maestro. Maestro palms Thor’s face, but gets distracted when he sees a jet fly overhead. Maestro says, “Oh no…not yet!” Thor slams Maestro. Maestro says to Thor, “…Thor you’ve got to get out of here. A bomb is…”, Maestro sees that Thor is long past words. Maestro punches Thor and sends him rocketing back. Thor is saved as the bomb impacts.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #443- Hulk stands there as a woman who just set a forest fire sits and watches as the flames spread. She walks backwards and bounces off him. She says that it wasn’t her and falls over. Hulk pulls up all the burning trees and leaps away with them. Unknown to Hulk is that Janis has come looking for him again, and that someone after her has just arrived in his timeline by the water. Hulk throws all the burning trees into the water and on top of Quarry. Later Quarry asks why Hulk attacked him. Hulk says that he didn’t. Quarry says that as long as Hulk doesn’t try to stop his hunt that he won’t treat him as a hostile. Hulk walks away. Quarry finds Janis being interrogated by the locals for the fire. Quarry starts blasting with his devastator, but misses Janis. The blast hits Hulk instead. Quarry walks over curious how Hulk was undamaged. Hulk grabs Quarry by the throat and says, “Ouch.” Hulk hits Quarry and then charges into him with a tree. Quarry breaks the tree. Hulk leaps at Quarry, but Quarry unleashes some type of sentient fire on Hulk. Quarry reaches for his devastator, but Hulk points it at him. Hulk then shoots Quarry over and over as Quarry begs for mercy. Quarry falls over. Janis asks if he is dead. Hulk replies, “Who cares?” Janis asks where Hulk is going. Hulk says, “Away from here.” Janis says that she needs his help again. Hulk says, “No.” Janis asks if she can come along. Hulk says, “Whatever.” She jumps onto Hulk’s back and he leaps off.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #444- flashback- Hulk takes Janis to a Pantheon safehouse. Hulk says that he used one similar to it to escape from the bomb they dropped on him. Suddenly Hulk grabs his head and says, “Cable…have to destroy Cable.” Hulk walks off.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #445- Hulk is in the subway when he sees a guy scouting ahead to get the people out. Hulk pulls the train to safety, but thinks to himself what idiots the people are. The only reason he can think of to help them is to tick Onslaught off. Later Hulk walks through the other heroes. All the muttering stops as he passes. Hulk knows that they see him as an enemy, not a true ally. Hulk tells everyone to stop staring at him unless they would rather he join the other side. Falcon tries to make Hulk feel welcome. Hulk says that standing around stinks and that they should go fight Onslaught before he is ready for them. Captain America, who already fought Onslaught once, says that he is always ready. Falcon tells Hawkeye of Hulk taking care of his nephew Jim Wilson as he died. Hulk says that he wants to take a shot at Onslaught now. Falcon and Hawkeye say they’ll come. Vision and Crystal go too. Vision yells hulk that there are no tunnels beneath Central Park. Hulk says that the day is young. Later Hulk is barreling through the ground. Vision checks above ground to see that Hulk is indeed going the right way. Onslaught spots him. Crystal strengthens the Earth around the tunnel Hulk is digging. Hulk feels Onslaughts attack and quickly surfaces in his hideout. Hulk yells for the others to take him. They attack, but are all killed in the fight. Hulk grabs Onslaught and destroys him. Hulk is celebrating his victory and says that the others looked down on him. A voice says that it doesn’t matter that all the others are dead, only that Hulk “got” him. Hulk agrees and then suddenly finds himself back in the tunnel. Falcon, Hawkeye, Vision, and Crystal all look at Hulk aghast. They all return to the other heroes.

Marvel: Onslaught- Hulk arrives with the Fantastic Four and Avengers as the X-Men are being repulsed by Onslaught. Doom says that most of Onslaught’s power is tied up in his force field. The others attack the force field bringing it down. Hulk tells Jean Grey to send him in. He tells her to turn the Banner part of his mind of. The Savage Hulk charges at Onslaught. They trade blows for a bit until Onslaught starts to pound Hulk to the ground. Onslaught says that Hulk cannot win. Onslaught has judged all unworthy. The humans he despises for their prejudice and hypocrisy, the mutants he despises for their cowardly attempt to be accepted instead of trying to rule. Onslaught pins Hulk and asks if he forgot anyone. Hulk says, “Just Hulk…makes him mad…and the madder Hulk gets…the stronger Hulk gets…and Hulk is ANGRY!” A loud explosion later and Onslaught’s physical presence is destroyed. Hulk lays unconscious on the ground next to an unconscious Bruce Banner. Reed realizes that Onslaught has moved to his final form without a physical presence. They decide that they need a physical presence to attack. Thor offers up his body and flies into the energy disappearing. All the other heroes follow suit. Reed says that it won’t take mutants. Iron Man makes sure Doom goes in too. At some point Bruce Banner wakes up and jumps in as well. Onslaught vanishes. Nate Gray tells Franklin to make sure he creates an exit for them. Franklin looks down at the orb next to him.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #446- While Hulk is unconscious the army straps him into a giant clamped platform. As a helicopter starts to lift the platform out the Hulk wakes up. Hulk is assaulted by images from the Onslaught fight making him angry. Hulk rips free of the castrodinium restraints. He grabs hold of the rope that was hauling him and starts climbing. Suddenly Hulk’s face goes blank. A soldier from the helicopter blasts Hulk and Hulk falls to ground. Hulk doesn’t move, but the army is getting odd readings from him. His radiation is spiking. The Hulk wakes up glowing with energy. Soon the radiation suits won’t be enough shielding. Hulk is swinging wildly at images of Onslaught face that floats before him. Hulk sees the army and starts moving towards them. They try to shoot at his eyes, but the radiation melts the bullets before they reach him. Hulk reels back in pain as his body enlarges from all the radiation. This pain is much worse that all the changes in the past. Hulk grabs his own face and tears half of it off. One of the soldiers takes his helmet off to vomit, but is instantly burned alive by the radiation. Hulk leaps towards Central Park. Hulk finally speaks saying, “Make it stop!” The army drops a container designed to smother a nuclear warhead, but Hulk starts to melt the cage from within. The cage melts into a metallic second skin on Hulk, and then the radiation finally goes back down to acceptable levels. Hulk remains inside the metal skin.

Meanwhile in the Heroes Reborn universe

Iron Man vol. 2 #1- Bruce Banner looks down from Stark’s building and watches the protestors who are picketing Tony Stark’s latest acquittal for insider trading and corporate espionage. Bruce says that they look like ants from up there. Tony Stark interrupts Bruce saying that they are ants, and that they exist simply to give him their money. Happy tells stark to cool it. Liz Ross enters the room as head of Stark’s security and says that maybe Happy is right. Happy asks Bruce what he thinks. Bruce asks when was the last time Stark cared about what anyone thought. Stark says exactly and heads out. Liz says that Stark is such a jerk. Bruce tells Liz to go easy on Stark and that he wasn’t always that way. Bruce recalls a false past that was created by Franklin Richards. Liz asks Bruce what happened to Stark. Bruce says it was life. Bruce tries to calm Liz down when Pepper Potts throws a drink in Stark’s face at his celebration news conference. Liz says it is a matter of security, but Bruce says it looks like a woman in love. Liz’s beeper goes off informing her of an opcent alert at the Buffalo annex. Bruce says that nobody should know what is up there and wonders if it’s a mistake. Liz goes to check on it, but Bruce says it is his project and he is going with her. As Betty pilots the helicopter to the Buffalo annex she identifies herself to the tower. By the way she is answered she knows that the annex has been commandeered. Bruce asks what if she is wrong. Betty says that she is never wrong. Bruce and Betty are eventually taken captive. Banner helps them agree to take his gamma bomb apart because he regrets building it. Banner is told that they are finished. Bruce starts to say that they haven’t taken it out of its silo when he realizes that they mean to detonate the gamma bomb. Bruce says he won’t allow it, but is then knocked unconscious. Liz wakes up to see Bruce knocked out, and that there is only five minutes till detonation. Bruce wakes up. Liz tells Bruce to let her in so she can disarm it. Bruce says that it is his fault, and he will fix it. Bruce says they disabled the failsafe. Betty says that perhaps the chamber will contain the blast and tells Bruce to come out. Bruce says there is only one chance. He pulls the lever that drops the entire chamber down thirteen miles so that there will be a buffer between his bomb and the world. Betty watches as Bruce and the bomb plummet. Bruce says he hopes Liz will forgive him one day. Later Tony Stark flies overhead in his helicopter. He sees the destruction, and then he sees a giant figure. He lights the ground up and sees the Hulk. Hulk doesn’t like the light and throws a rock at the helicopter destroying it. Hulk goes to look for “friend”. Stark gets into his armor to save his life. He comes across Hulk holding Liz Ross. Iron Man tells Hulk to put her down, but Hulk responds to go away or he will smash.

Iron Man vol. 2 #2- Hulk says that he came back to help Liz. Iron Man asks if Hulk was there before and where he came from. Hulk says that he doesn’t know, but he knows he goes where he wants. Iron Man says that Liz works for Stark and he just wants Hulk to put her down. Hulk shouts at Iron Man and drives him through three concrete walls. Iron Man says Hulk has irritated him. Hulk says he didn’t start it. That the bomb made him, he didn’t make the bomb. Hulk says he has his friend, and now he will find snakes with heads (Hydra) and make them pay. Iron Man shoots Hulk with his repulsor. Hulk falls over. Betty tells Iron Man about Hydra and Bruce dying trying to disarm the gamma bomb. Hulk shows Iron Man he was faking and tries to hit him with a giant slab of concrete. Iron Man runs outside the annex to get away from Liz and Jasper. Hulk tries to hit Iron Man, but Iron Man puts up a force field to block it. Iron Man uses the field to launch Hulk into the air. Three miles later Iron Man charges into Hulk. Iron Man wants to know if Hulk hurt his friend Bruce Banner Iron Man flies Hulk out over Niagara Falls, but doesn’t want to let go foe fear the fall might kill Hulk. Hulk starts pounding on Iron Man to make him let go as he doesn’t want to be saved by a friend of Banner’s. They land and Hulk sees another helicopter light. Hulk throws another rock. Iron Man uses a tractor beam to pull the helicopter to safety. Hulk grabs Iron Man and smashes him into the ground about nine inches. Stark says that his energy is getting low. Hulk says that he wants to smash the whole world and starts to leave. Stark grabs a power line and charges his suit up. Iron then uses the line to shock the Hulk. They both fall into Niagara Falls.

Avengers vol. 2 #4- Hulk is spotted by “Gamma Search One”, a helicopter looking for Hulk. Hulk has been making his way towards Marlboro, New York to find and smash Banner. Hulk yells at the helicopter to get the light off him. Hulk leaps at the light, but misses as he leaps by. The helicopter tracks Hulk’s gamma trail so the Gamma Ops can find him. The helicopter says they can track Hulk for miles with his trail, but suddenly lose Hulk with his one leap. Later Hulk sits by the water in Hyde Park. Hulk says that he is thirsty, but sees Banner’s face in his reflection. Hulk smashes the water and says he will find Banner. Loki, as a little bird, lands on Hulk’s shoulder. The bird tells Hulk that Banner is at a place called Avengers Island. Later Hawkeye and Hellcat spring into action as they see Hulk leaping towards them on monitor duty. Hulk asks where Banner is. Hawkeye shoots an arrow that turns into an electric net. Hulk rips through the net and knocks out Hawkeye. Swordsman charges Hulk. Hulk grabs both his hands and crushes them. Captain America throws his shield into Hulk’s neck. Hulk charges Cap and drives him into the wall. Cap lays on the ground unconscious, and Hulk shouts, “Hulk will find you Banner. Nothing can stop Hulk!”

Avengers vol. 2 #5- Thor crashes through the wall and strikes Hulk with his hammer. Thor hits Hulk twice more and asks Hulk if he likes the taste of Mjolnir. Hulk says no and grabs the hammer. The wrestle for it, but Hulk throws Thor off the hammer. Hulk says he wants the hammer, but cannot lift it. Thor grabs his hammer and uses it to hit Hulk with lightning. SHIELD is monitoring the fight and say that if the gamma core is cracked Nevada will be the country’s eastern seaboard. Thor tries to dig Cap out of the rubble, but Hulk grabs Thor by his hair. Hulk says Thor needs his hammer. Thor punches Hulk through a wall. Thor punches and punches repeatedly. Hulk says “stop”. Thor says he is mad. Hulk agrees that he is mad, and the madder he gets the stronger he gets. Hulk decks Thor. Hulk grabs Thor by the hair and punches him again. Hulk then drives Thor’s face into the ground. Hulk holds an unconscious Thor in the air.

Fantastic Four vol. 2 #6- Dr. Doom returns to his castle. One of his robots informs him that Avengers Island has been destroyed. Doom wonders who could have enough power to pull this off besides him. His computer finds the Hulk. Doom tells it to enlarge the image. Doom wonders how any human form could house such power. Doom sees that the Hulk is really Bruce Banner.

Iron Man vol. 2 #4- Bruce calls the offices of Doctor Leonard Samson. Bruce starts talking into the machine when Samson picks up. Bruce says he needs Samson’s help. Samson says that Bruce is supposed to be dead. Bruce says he only wishes he were.

Iron Man vol. 2 #5- Bruce explains to Samson that he is the Hulk, but that the whole mess started when he was trying to prevent the bomb from being used. Samson says that Bruce needs to turn himself in. Samson says that he will do all he can, and knows that Stark will too. Bruce says that might have been the case once, but not with the jerk Tony was being lately. Bruce sees some police coming and hangs up the phone.

Back in our universe

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #447- For two days Hulk has remained encased inside his melted prison without oxygen. Betty arrives and wants to go to Hulk, but a soldier shows her how the rock he throws at Hulk melts before it reaches him. Alex Wildman freaks out and one of the soldiers that tries to stop him gets thrown into Hulk and has his arm burned off. Betty meets Colonel Cary St. Lawrence. Later it starts to rain. The water all turns to steam as it tries to fall on Hulk. Jason of the Pantheon and the army both contact their bosses as the metal shell starts to crack. The steam helps hide the Hulk, but eventually the Bannerless Hulk appears. Jason shoots first and is then joined by the army, but the Hulk is silent through it all. Hulk claps his hands knocking the soldiers over. Janis knocks down Jason. Hulk stands with his arms outstretched and laughs as the helicopter shoots at him and the bullets bounce off him. Janis blows the blades of the helicopter. She jumps onto the Hulk’s back. Suddenly Betty runs up to Hulk. She says that they can work through this together. Betty asks Bruce to say something as he stares at her. Hulk replies, “Lady…I’ve never seen you before in my life. Hull leaps away and Betty collapses on the ground in tears.

Meanwhile in the Heroes Reborn universe

Avengers vol. 2 #6- Bruce Banner tries to sneak into the Baxter Building, but is caught by Thing, Human Torch, and Invisible Woman. Reed quickly grabs Thing before he hits Bruce. Reed is stunned to find that Bruce is alive. Bruce asks to use their satellite uplink. Reed offers to help Bruce with the calibrations, but Bruce has no trouble figuring them out. He shows them the destroyed Avengers Island. He says he designed the gamma core while working for Stark, and now the containment fields are rapidly depleting. Bruce asks for help shutting it down. Later the Fantastic Four enter Avengers Island. Bruce watches as Thing wakes Thor up. Thor punches Thing for giving him mouth to mouth. Iron Man catches Thing and finds out that Bruce Banner is still alive. The uninjured Avengers also arrive to deal with the gamma core. Hellcat runs by Bruce Banner and smells him. She realizes that this is all his fault. Captain America tells her to wait. Bruce says he has to stay calm. Bruce quickly shows them the alternate access. Bruce tells Reed that “Camelot” is the security password. Reed turns to ask Bruce what comes next and sees the Hulk standing before them. Hulk says that they’re calling him Bruce. Hulk says he hates Bruce.

Iron Man vol. 2 #6- Hulk says that he wants to be left alone. Susan Richards says that he should have thought of that before he destroyed the gamma core. Hulk says that he didn’t make the thing he just broke it. Hulk stops shouting and says that he is sick of fighting puny humans. Thor seals the crack in the core with lightning. Iron Man tries to talk Hulk into helping. Hulk says puny humans are always hunting him until they need him, and then everybody is nice to him. Thing and Thor try to lift the core back but fail. Iron Man tries to get Hulk to help them. Hulk asks why he should care. Iron Man says that he knows Bruce Banner is in there and that Bruce wouldn’t let twelve million people die. Hulk says he will help, but only because he changed his mind not because of Iron Man. Iron Man carries Thing and Thor out. They seal the doors. Hulk mumbles about how people and superheroes treat him. Hulk gets mad and lifts the core. Hulk closes the main door closed. A visage of Onslaught appears and then disappears. Iron Man wants to go in to get Bruce out, but Hulk tells him to leave and that he doesn’t like puny humans anyway.

Captain America vol. 2 #6-???????????????

Iron Man vol. 2 #7- behind the scenes- Jasper Sitwell interrogates Doc Samson to try and get him to tell him where Bruce Banner is. Jasper injects Samson with gamma isotopes. The newspapers have the headline that Bruce is the Hulk.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #448- Hulk sits by the side of the water as Janis bathes. He asks her why she is there. Janis says that Hulk helped her get rid of a tyrant, and that now they have a new tyrant and need his help again. Janis says that she didn’t have Doom’s time machine this time and had to come by a less reliable method. She asks Hulk if he is going to help, but Hulk doesn’t answer. Janis says she has nowhere to go since the machine must be broken or they would have pulled her back by now. She says that she is going to stick with Hulk. Later that night Janis is cooking. She tells Hulk that he wants to little from life only wanting to be left alone as if saying it would make it so. Hulk says he will smash anyone who bothers him. Janis points out that tactic hasn’t exactly worked so far. The Pantheon watches the Hulk as they are about to take him on for the government. Hector, Ajax, Atalanta, Cassie, and Jason rush the Hulk. Cassie and Atalanta attack Hulk while Janis engages Ajax and Hector. Hulk claps his hands knocking back Cassie, Atalanta, and Jason. Ajax charges Hulk. Ajax throws Hulk down. Cassie uses a “white dwarf” blast on Hulk blinding for a moment the camera that Cary St. Lawrence and Paris were watching on. When the camera is working again they see Jason shoot Hulk and apparently kill him. Elsewhere the real Hulk stands with Janis on a Pantheon ship. They reveal that they created a clone of Hulk with weak facial area so that it could be killed. They say they want Hulk back again, and that they would keep him low profile. Hulk destroys their ship leaping out and goes to the government who are about to start celebrating his death. Hulk tells them that there are new rules. Janis explains that if the government attacks Hulk that three days later Hulk will trash Los Angeles, and that Hulk will make sure everyone knows that he was provoked. Hulk says, “I hope we have an understanding.” Hulk leaps away with Janis on his back.

Hulk annual ‘97- Hulk leaps along with Janis. Hulk lands at a nuclear power plant for Janis to rest. He says that nobody would dare mess with him there and risk a nuclear disaster. He knocks down the doors and says that she should find bathrooms and showers. Janis asks if Hulk wasn’t worried that his leaping might have started a leak. Hulk says that his body is immune from radiation. Janis asks if it would bother him that others would be hurt. Hulk says, “Not much”. Elsewhere the Shiar sense that capturing a fugitive Elamron keys on the boy who the Pantheon tell Samson is supposedly Banner’s son. Later Doc Samson is running with “David” when he bounces right off Hulk’s chest. Samson introduces “Bruce” to David and tells him that he is Bruce’s son. Hulk pauses for a second. He says he is pleased to meet him, and then tells them both to get lost. Samson says that he can’t be that unfeeling. Hulk says that apparently Samson has a hearing problem. Suddenly Gladiator and Lady Sibyl arrive. Gladiator says it is better that Hulk not care for the boy because he is claiming him for the Shiar empire. Samson says that they cannot claim a child they have no right to. Gladiator says that it isn’t a child, but a changeling. Samson says he has seen the genetic tests, but Sibyl says that a changeling is very thorough even to losing itself in the life. She says that Hulk most likely encountered Elamron posing as a Troyjan, and that it became Hulk’s “son” after dying. Gladiator says that is enough and that the child will be destroyed for crimes he has been convicted of. Janis tries to intercede, but Gladiator grabs her by the neck. Hulk flashback to his father holding his mother by the neck. Hulk leaps onto Gladiator. Gladiator knocks him away. Sibyl says that it seems like Hulk actually caused Gladiator pain. Gladiator says nonsense, but is then pasted by Hulk again. Sibyl freezes Samson, Janis, and David until the fight is over. Gladiator tries to fly Hulk into space, but Hulk claps his hands over Gladiator’s ears. They both fall back to Earth, and the nuclear reactor goes critical from the impact. Gladiator uses his eyebeams on Hulk and begins to blast a hole through Hulk’s chest. Hulk advances on Gladiator and palms his face causing the eyebeams to feedback inside Gladiator’s head. Hulk throws Gladiator into the reactor core, and Gladiator flies own burning from the energy. Gladiator is out cold, but Hulk leaps onto him and keeps pounding on him. David tells him to stop and that he will be good. Hulk looks at David and sees himself from long ago. Hulk screams as he realizes that he is the one that inspired the feelings this time. The boy runs off and Hulk leaves with Janis.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #449- Hulk goes spiraling when he is hit by a missile from MACH-1. MACH-1 catches Janis thinking her an innocent bystander, but she blasts him with her staff. Hulk lands in a rodeo and is faced by Meteorite, Techno, Atlas, and Songbird. Atlas tells Hulk to surrender, and Hulk puts his hands in the air. Songbird puts him in a sound cage. Meteorite tries to get Hulk to put his arms down, but Hulk stands motionless. When Citizen V and MACH-1 arrive Hulk says he was just waiting for them all to be in one place before attacking. Hulk breaks his cage. Hulk leaps, but is knocked down by MACH-1's missile. Hulk is actually bleeding. Janis blasts Moonstone and MACH-1 away from Hulk. Hulk grabs Atlas and throws him into Techno. Moonstone tells Hulk to surrender because they'll always protect innocent people. Hulk recognizes Meteorite's voice, and asks if he knows her. Hulk decides to test their resolve to protect innocents. Hulk leaps into a dam, and water begins to pour out. Hulk gets away while the Bolts save the town. Janis asks if that was necessary. Hulk says no, but asks what her point is. Suddenly Hulk clasps his chest and falls to the ground.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #450- Hulk tears apart the Hollywood sign and reorganizes it to read “Hulk”. Janis warns Hulk about exerting himself after he collapsed after fighting the Thunderbolts. Janis asks Hulk what he wants. Hulk says he wants more. A helicopter starts shooting at Hulk. Hulk leaps up and destroys it. Hulk goes to Universal Studios and terrorizes the people on the King Kong ride. Hulk takes some enjoyment when the people’s joy turns to terror. Janis tries to remind him again, but Hulk makes his own reminder as he clutches his chest. Janis asks if there is anything he wants. Hulk says that he wants more, but can’t explain. Wildman attacks Hulk. He downs Janis by solidifying fingers in her head. Hulk hits Wildman, but Wildman’s head stretches away. Wildman blasts Hulk and then does a backflip onto Hulk’s back. Wildman says he needs to kill Hulk to silence the voices in his head. Hulk swings at Wildman, but Wildman shrinks and then blasts Hulk again. Hulk lands in the 3-D Terminator movie. Wildman leaps onto Hulk. Hulk grabs Wildman’s throat, but Wildman disappears and then blasts Hulk out of the theater with a blast of lightning. Hulk says that he wants more. Wildman asks more what. Hulk says to forget it and smashes Wildman against the ground. Suddenly a rainbow appears. Hulk disappears and Wildman’s powers disappear. Suddenly another Hulk appears. He says that he saw Janis die in the Maestro’s time. Bannerless Hulk is pulled away in a green bubble with Dr. Strange followed by a white bubble. Bannerless Hulk shatters the green bubble and falls to the ground. The white bubble surrounds him. Strange can’t get through the bubble so he does so in his astral form. He dives into the Heroes Reborn universe. Strange stands up in front of a naked Heroes Reborn Hulk. Heroes Reborn Hulk shouts that he wants to know where Liz is. He throws some rubble at Strange and it hits his astral form. Heroes Reborn Hulk charges Strange, but Mister Fantastic pulls him out of the way as Hulk swings. Thing rushes headlong into Heroes Reborn Hulk saying that he has been waiting for someone big enough to cut loose on. Strange traps Heroes Reborn Hulk in the Crimson Bands of Cyttorak. As Strange determines that they are the real Fantastic Four Heroes Reborn Hulk breaks the bands. Heroes Reborn Hulk knocks Strange down. Strange traps him in the Eye of Agametto and sees that it is the real Bruce Banner within the Hulk. He sees that Heroes Reborn Hulk is leaking energy breaking everything down. Back on our Earth Bannerless Hulk smashes at the white bubble. Iron Man and the Fantastic Four pile on Heroes Reborn Hulk. Bannerless Hulk smashes the white bubble and Dr. Strange is pulled out to our Earth. Strange explains to Strange that the more Hulk wants is the rest of himself within the pocket universe. Strange says Hulk is going to keep getting stronger, but that it will kill him. A tear rolls down Hulk’s face and he says, “Good.” Hulk leaps away before Strange can explain that it will kill everyone.

Hulk/Hercules Unleashed #1- The Hulk hides in the sewers of Fargo as above. Colonel Cary St. Lawrence commands her troops to look for the Hulk. Hulk climbs through the ground and up into a tank. He drives the tank and blows up the others. He rips the top off his tank and throws it down. Hulk doesn’t even leap away. He just walks like he is daring them to take their best shot. Hulk goes into a hotel and decides to take up residency. He sits on a bed drinking a beer and watching Xena on the TV. Suddenly Hercules stands before the Hulk. He says that he wants to team up with Hulk to find the missing heroes. Hulk just looks at him. Hercules keeps droning on about adventures and glory. Hulk finally says something. He hits Hercules and tells him to shut up. Hercules flies out of the building. Hulk leaps out at him, but Hercules turns and hits Hulk. Hercules picks up a manhole cover and throws it directly into Hulk’s chest. Hulk doesn’t groan or even acknowledge the blow. Hercules blocks Hulk’s first punch, but is hit by the next. Hercules grabs Hulk’s leg and flips him. Hulk goes to leap and thinking Hulk is trying to escape Hercules leaps onto his back. That was what Hulk wanted however as his leap is backwards into the hotel wall. Hulk pounds on Hercules breaking his bones and drawing blood. Hulk starts to leap away as Hercules emerges from the rubble and calls Hulk back. Hulk lands. Hercules charges him. Hulk swings, but Hercules leaps onto Hulk’s shoulders and drives his head to the ground. Hulk freaks and lifts Hercules over his head. Hulk slams Hercules against the ground. Hulk pounds Hercules unmercifully, but Hercules keeps getting up. Hulk pounds and pounds on Hercules. Hulk asks Hercules if he wants to die. Hulk keeps pounding on Hercules telling him to quit, but Hercules keeps refusing. Hulk pulls back with the punch that would kill Hercules, but Hulk shows mercy. Suddenly Hercules and Hulk are transported to Olympus. Zeus tries to give Hercules his immortality back, but Hercules uses his boon to learn the true fate of the lost heroes. While Hercules is talking with Zeus Hulk engages in a drinking contest with Dionysis. Hercules wakes up and explains how Hulk’s battle has slain his immortality. Hulk says, “Like I care.” Hulk asks Hercules how they are going home. Hercules offers Hulk to routes. One quick and the other longer and dangerous. Hulk and Hercules take the long way home and fight side by side against giants and cyclops.

Hulk annual ‘97- Leech and Artie are concerned because Franklin Richards has been having nightmares about the Hulk. Hulk sleeps and is awakened by a dream in his head. He says that it is every night now. He leaps to find the X-Men confronting him. Hulk charges them, but Cyclops disappears as Hulk reaches him. Hulk trips a wire and is hit with a bunch of water balloons. He trips another wire and is covered in the White Queen’s underwear. Hulk sees Artie and Leech. Hulk picks Artie and says that something has been calling him there in his dreams. He asks what is going on. Leech says that Artie can’t answer because he can’t talk. Hulk puts Artie down and says that he isn’t a monster and doesn’t hurt kids. Leech says that their friend is having nightmares about a monster, and that the lady on the news says that Hulk is that monster. Hulk asks Leech if anyone ever called him a monster because of how he looks. Leech says yes. Hulk says that if his friend stops messing with his head that he can tell his friend that he has nothing to fear from him.

Silver Surfer vol. 3 #125- Silver Surfer comes to Earth following a strange energy reading. He finds the Hulk fighting with jets. Hulk tells the jets that they were warned that he wanted to be alone. Hulk leaps through one of the jets destroying it. Another jet fires on Hulk, but as Hulk goes to fight it the Silver Surfer puts his hand on Hulk’s shoulder. Even Hulk is unnerved by the emotionless cold voice of the Surfer. Hulk guesses that Dr. Strange sent Surfer after him. Surfer explains about the energy readings he got and he now sees that they energy is coming from Hulk. Hulk leaps at Surfer. Surfer dodges and asks Hulk why he is attacking him since they were once friends. Hulk says that was lifetimes ago, and then uses a tree to hit a home run with Surfer as the ball. Hulk throws the tree at another jet, but Surfer dissolves it. Hulk turns to Surfer and questions why he protected his attackers. Surfer says that Hulk seems as disconnected from his past as Surfer has become from his. Surfer wants to learn more, but Hulk hits Surfer and asks why he doesn’t listen to him to leave him alone. Surfer realizes just how dangerous the Hulk is. Hulk leaps onto Surfer, but is blasted off by Surfer’s blasts. Surfer blasts Hulk again. Hulk says that he doesn’t go down that easy. He grabs Surfer’s foot and smashes him against the ground. Hulk says he is going to kill Surfer for turning on him. Surfer has his board hit Hulk in the back of the head. Surfer decides to revert Hulk into Banner like he did in Hulk #250. Hulk screams in pain. Hulk says that he can’t turn back into Banner because there is no Banner. Hulk hits the ground knocking Surfer over. Hulk leaps away. Surfer puts out the fires and follows. Surfer finds Hulk sitting by himself of a high tower of rock in the Grand Canyon. Surfer tells Hulk that he understands his loss because he too has lost a piece of himself. He figures that they can be friends and in time. But before he can finish talking Hulk leaps at Surfer and drives him to the ground. Hulk stomps his foot onto Surfer’s head repeatedly as he says that he has no time and that the longer he is without Banner the closer he comes to death. Surfer protects himself with a force field. Surfer blasts Hulk and says that he finally understands. He says that it is fear of death that fuels Hulk’s anger. Surfer tells Hulk not to fear death because it is wondrous. Hulk grunts and leaps away. Strange arrives and he and Surfer try to go after Hulk.

Heroes for Hire #1- Hulk lands from a leap. Suddenly he starts to choke from gas. Hulk tries to leap away, but the gas worked too well, and Hulk falls back to earth. As Hulk sits choking Ironclad hits him the back of the head with a giant rock. Hulk is knocked out. Vector attaches a disc to the hulk’s neck and says that the Hulk is now their property. Later the United Nations is actually discussing the Hulk when the U-Foes and Hulk enter the building. On the news Hercules sees that the Hulk has teamed up with the U-Foes and taken the UN hostage. Hulk brings in two more people as Vector uses more discs to suck out information from the delegates. Iron Fist notices that Hulk seems off as the Heroes for Hire enter the building to fight theU-Foes. Iron Fist tries to pull off the disc, but cannot. He uses his Iron Fist to shatter it. Hulk claps his hands together and disperses Vapor. Hercules hits Ironclad to Hulk. Hulk punches him. The U-Foes run away. They find that the discs leave no damage to the delegates. Later Iron Fist clears Hulk on the news.

Spider-Man Team-Up #6- Hulk holds a police vehicle over his head as he is trying to break into Avengers mansion. Hulk throws it through the front door at SHIELD. Hulk throws the reception desk and hits three of the mandroids, and ripped out the camera feed. Hulk grabs the remaining mandroid, smashes it against the ground, and tears its leg off. Hulk walks deeper into the mansion. Spider-Man sees SHIELD about to launch a strike against Hulk inside the mansion. Spider-Man tells them to give him fifteen minutes and he will see if they can avoid a gunfight in midtown. Spider-Man finds Hulk and sees him looking through filing cabinets. Hulk mutters that he needs to find some of Stark or Banner’s old notes to try and find a way to save his life. Hulk throws an empty filing cabinet at Spider-Man. Suddenly Aquarian shows up and says that violence isn’t the way. Spider-Man tries to get him to leave, but Hulk throws a counter with a sink in it at them. Aquarian blocks the counter with his null field. The SHIELD LMD that was in the last mandroid that Hulk smashed arrives and says that another intruder is about to download the Avengers files. Hulk is forced to team with Spider-Man and Aquarian because he wants those files. They find some robot there. Hulk smashes it, but the pieces reform into a Doombot. It starts blasting everyone, but Hulk grabs it and throws it through the wall. Spider-Man and the LMD try to stop the download. SHIELD is all over the place. The LMD says that the info was downloaded, but that he sent a virus too. Hulk must have thought that meant the info was gone so he leaps out.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #451- Hulk sits alone at the site of the original gamma bomb test. Hulk sees the Maestro’s skull half buried in the ground. Hulk thinks about all those he has lost and crushes Maestro’s skull in his hand. Suddenly the ground begins to shake. Towers shoot out of the ground, and Hulk realizes that he is being hunted even here. Hulk leaps up but the machines start zapping him. They are siphoning off the gamma radiation. The scientists working for Col. St Lawrence see that his body is entirely gamma radiation as if there were no Bruce Banner in his body. Hulk strikes the ground ands knocks the power off. Hulk tears up the towers. Hulk rips through the ground and uncovers St. Lawrence and the scientists. Hulk asks who they are. Cary starts to answer but Hulk tells her to shut up. He says he wants to know why they attacked him there. Hulk grabs a scientist and he says their research shows that Hulk heads there whenever there are major changes in his life. Hulk throws the guy and says that this was his place. Hulk says he needs something that is his. He sees the scientist nervously jiggling his keys. Hulk laughs out loud and then leaps away. Later Hulk smashes through the bridge that connects Duck Key, of the Florida Keys, to its other neighbors. Hulk then destroys all the boats in the water and tells the people on board to swim back. Hulk walks down the street. He tells the cops that the first shot is free. The bullets bounce off his chest. He says that was free as promised, but that if they shoot him again then he will kill him as promised. Hulk says that it is his island now. He says there are two rules: one- they leave each other alone, and two- nobody leaves.

Sensational Spider-Man #14- Hulk stands upon Hulk’s island bashing monsters for hours. Hulk realizes that the monsters are being driven off Monster Island, and that it’s time he found out who. Hulk leaps to Monster Island and somehow determines that Mole Man isn’t responsible. Hulk sees the monsters lying around and figures it is something big. Suddenly a giant chicken attacks Hulk. The chicken is a legend called Chtylok. Hulk and Chtylok battle back and forth for days. Hulk knocks Chtylok into some cavern. The cavern leads to a series of tunnels that lead to different locations.

Sensational Spider-Man #15- After days of fighting Hulk and Chtylok emerge from the tunnels into the Savage Land. Spider-Man, Kazar, and Shanna have discovered that Roxxon is trying to melt the glaciers in order to flood the Savage Land so that the protection the Savage Land receives from the United Nations so that they will be able to drill for oil because of the centuries of dinosaurs living there. A giant crater is created by Hulk and Chtylok. Spider-Man has some dinosaurs attack Chtylok because he has plans for Hulk. Hulk tells Spider-Man to rub a lamp. Kazar and Shanna confront the Roxxon guys who claimed to be helping the glaciers, but were really melting them. Hulk and Spider-Man are tearing up miles of machinery that was melting the glaciers. The confronted guy realizes that he will be Roxxon’s scapegoat and decides to detonate the explosives on the glaciers. The melted water flows in and then down the crater Hulk and chicken boy made.

Deadpool #4- Deadpool’s healing actor and body chemistry because of the gamma radiation that Deadpool has encountered. The only chance he has to save his life is to get a blood sample from the Hulk. Deadpool doesn’t want to fight the Hulk. He asks Siryn when the last time she fought someone in the Hulk’s league. Siryn asks if the Juggernaut counts, but Deadpool doesn’t seem to think so. Deadpool almost misses his jump, where the Hulk stands on top of a building, because he is writing his will. Deadpool leaps from his plane and plants his foot into Hulk’s chest. Hulk doesn’t move as Deadpool pushes off his chest and backflips onto the roof. Deadpool says that he is from the blood drive, and that Hulk’s blood can save a life…his. Hulk says leave or die. Deadpool says he will anyway. Hulk tries to hit Deadpool, but Deadpool dodges. Deadpool slashes Hulk with his sword to get some blood. Hulk heals instantly. Hulk says Deadpool broke his island’s laws. He lifts a car to throw at Deadpool, but Deadpool’s ship fires on Hulk. Hulk throws the car at the ship saying, “no trespassing”. Deadpool stabs Hulk in the back, but Hulk swings around and hits him. Hulk says he could care less if Deadpool is dying. Hulk leaps at Deadpool. Deadpool bends a metal pole down into Hulk’s path. Hulk is impaled on the pole. Deadpool takes a blood sample, and then wonders why that plan worked. Hulk says that Deadpool isn’t the only one with problems. Deadpool teleports away and Hulk pulls the pole out.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #452- Hulk sits under a tree with his hands behind his head. Chief Flanagan is trying to shoot a bullet down the Hulk’s ear canal into his brain. He closes his eyes and squeezes the trigger. Hulk had stuck his finger into the barrel, and caused the gun to explode in his hands. Hulk says he broke the law. Flanagan says he needs a hospital. Hulk says there are only two laws and he had to break one. The only other prisoner mocks the chief. Hulk tells him to shut up, but the prisoner tells Hulk to make him. Hulk breaks the bars down. The guy tells him to go ahead because he is sick of being hunted and hounded. Hulk gives him the chief’s badge and tells him that he is hired. Hulk tells him the two laws and leaves. Another boat is trying to leave. Hulk destroys it and saves the little kid that falls out of his life jacket. Back on the mainline Janis arrives at Rick Jones’ house with Future Hulk. Future Hulk says he is called the Hulk. Rick says that he is sure he is. The Hulk looks up as Hurricane Betty is arriving on the island. The mayor tells Hulk that he is now responsible for the people’s lives since he ruined their means of escape and shelter. Hulk starts throwing giant boats and crushed cars to build shelter for the island. People start to help with sandbags. Colonel St. Lawrence spots a Hulk leaping towards Hulk Island. Hulk’s sheriff asks why he helped them. Hulk says that live hostages are more valuable than dead ones. Suddenly Janis arrives and tells Hulk that they have to leave. Hulk says he like it here. He says she can stay or go it makes no difference. Future Hulk tells Bannerless Hulk that it does matter.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #453- Janis tells Hulk that Future Hulk knows what he is talking about. Future Hulk tries to explain why he shouldn’t have taken over the island. Bannerless Hulk attacks Future Hulk, and Future Hulk fights back. Future Hulk decks Hulk and says that he is there to help him. He describes everything the Hulk is feeling about wanting more and what he wants. Hulk stops fighting and asks if Future Hulk can really help him. Future Hulk says that he can help Hulk help himself. Hulk decks Future Hulk saying he can help himself to this. Hulk leaps after Future Hulk as he gets up from under the rubble. Future Hulk says that it is clear that he is going to need to pound sense into Hulk’s head. The townspeople tell Hulk to save them from this new threat. They explain that Hulk protected them from the hurricane and that he is now wrecking more than the hurricane did. Suddenly Hulk sees a vision of his mother. Hulk mutters to himself that he isn’t Banner and that she is dead. Hulk is now glowing. Hulk also sees Brian Banner and Betty. Future Hulk says that Hulk is connecting with what he lost. Future Hulk goes up to Hulk and tells him that he doesn’t have much time left. He tells Hulk that he has always had a slight air of the mystic about him. He says that the damage to his brain and his involvement with Onslaught turned him into a nexus of reality. Future Hulk says that in his time he fought the Maestro and had to kill him. Future Hulk then replaced him and went a bit nuts. He tried to go back to his time, but was drawn to Hulk instead. Future Hulk says he knows that Hulk is afraid. Hulk says, “Afraid?” Hulk’s sheriff comes running up, but Hulk tells him to shut up and hits him. Hulk then lifts Future Hulk up and throws him away. Future Hulk sees Colonel St. Lawrence and kisses her. Future Hulk leaps back to Hulk as he is trashing the town now. Hulk says he doesn’t want anyone, not help or love, because it hurts and betrays. Future Hulk says that there is still time, but then he disappears. Hulk shouts that he just wants to be left alone. Colonel St. Lawrence says that that line is garbage. She says that if he really wants to be left alone there are lots of isolated places in the world.

Marvel Fanfare vol. 2 #2- Hulk lands from a leap. Hulk looks down and sees a human skull. He picks the skull up. Suddenly the Wendigo, or some sort of midget equivalent thereof, attacks the Hulk from behind and scratches his back. Hulk grabs a tree and launches Wendigo. Hulk leaps after Wendigo. Wolverine is working with some people and he is going to try and stop Hulk from killing the mini-Wendigo. In the little logging village of St. Aubins Wendigo slashes Hulk. Hulk pounds Wendigo into the ground. Hulk says he wanted to go north to get away from people, but even here there is trouble. Hulk has Wendigo lifted off the ground as he is about to crush Wendigo’s skull with his finger the little guy bites Hulk’s hand. Wolverine comes leaping in from above. Wolverine tells Banner that they have to get Wendigo to the river and fight him there. Hulk freaks. He swats Wolverine into a truck, and then throws another truck onto that one. As they explode Hulk screams about Banner being gone and dead. He says that it is the Hulk versus the world. A feral Wolverine and Wendigo team up on the Hulk and slash him unmercifully. Wolverine is huffing and puffing and Hulk asks if he is tired. Hulk stands up bleeding and says that he is just starting. Hulk tells Wolverine to remember that the next time he starts lecturing about control that a very angry Hulk looked into his eyes and kept his cool. Hulk smashes a water tower and the water washes Wolverine and Wendigo to the river. Hulk asks Wolverine if he enjoyed the swim. Hulk rubs it in again that he was in control and Wolverine wasn’t. Then he tells Wolverine that if he even looks at him again there will be trouble. Hulk leaps away.

Meanwhile in HR universe

Iron Man vol. 2 #8- Hulk grabs Jennifer Walters out of a cab. Below in the sewer Hulk tells Jen that his skin burns. Hulk says that he knows her, and knows that she would help him. Jennifer says that she will help. Elsewhere Doc Samson gammas out and deals with Jasper and his men.

Iron Man vol. 2 #10- Jennifer and Bruce find Doc Samson transformed into something like the Abomination. Bruce theorizes that if Bruce and Samson take a blood transfusion from each other that it might level off all the gamma radiation both have absorbed…or it might kill them both. Both are willing to take that chance. Bruce apologizes to Samson, but Samson says he knew this was supposed to happen. Bruce hulks out. Jen calms him down, but the transfusion has been broken. Jen straps herself into the transfusion with Samson.

Iron Man vol. 2 #11- Tony Stark and Reed Richards stand at Conner O’Reilly’s funeral. They theorize about a rift in the time continuum that brought them all there. They figure they were brought together for a greater purpose. The Watcher says that they were and that Galactus approaches. Hulk, She-Hulk, and a human looking Doc Samson join Stark and Richards.

back in the Heroes Reborn universe

Avengers vol. 2 #12- Dr. Doom contacts SHIELD and lets them know that Galactus has already destroyed Earth once and that he went back in time 24 hours to try to stop him again. Hulk volunteers to go to the South Pole and destroy one of Galactus’ machines there while others head to different locales to do the same. Along the way Hulk is joined by Vision and Scarlet Witch. They find the machine and Hulk is attacked by Firelord. Hulk tries to hit Firelord, but Firelord burns Hulk’s arm. Firelord blasts Hulk. Hulk says he can feel Banner coming. Vision phases through Firelord and grabs his staff. Firelord is one the ground when Hulk punches him in the stomach. Firelord goes down, but Hulk isn’t powerful enough to destroy Galactus’ machine. In this universe Firelord’s staff has power on its own. Vision uses it to blow the machine up. Bruce lays dying he says that they cannot beat Galactus this way, and that they must tell the other Avengers, but then Banner passes out before he can finish. Air-Walker later tells them that destroying the machines means that Earth is ready for destruction. Later near death as Galactus starts to eat the Earth Bruce tells the Avengers to go destroy the gamma core and open the flaw in the space time continuum. Bruce dies. They destroy the core but the world ends. Doom goes back in time again to start over.

Iron Man vol. 2 #12- Hulk, She-Hulk, Doc Samson, and Stark stand with the Fantastic Four. They’re remarking on how impossible the odds are that they all gained superhuman powers. She-Hulk is flirting with Thing when Hulk shouts, “Rock man leave Hulk’s cousin alone!” Hulk punches Thing and Thing hits back. Hulk knocks Thing into a tower. Invisible Woman places them both in separate bubbles. They see the heralds coming to Earth. The Fantastic Four go to make first contact with Stark and the Hulkbusters backing them up. Stark tells the Hulkbusters that he will find a cure. Samson tells Stark it’s worth the price to see him turned into a good guy finally. Stark says to Hulk that he knows that Bruce is lost in there. Hulk says he is not lost. Stark goes to see Happy and is abducted by Doom. Hulk and the others watch as the FF fight the heralds. Suddenly a figure comes out of the shadows. Betty walks up to Hulk and says she had to come see him. Betty’s hair has all fallen out and she is dying from the gamma radiation that she absorbed. Hulk turns into Bruce Banner and he kisses Betty. Later Bruce sits on the floor as Iron Man and Doom are brought into the room with the Avengers and Hulkbusters. Fury tells them that the Fantastic Four died fighting the heralds. The heroes go off and fight the heralds. Aboard the helicarrier Bruce, Pym, Doom, and Stark construct a weapon to fight Galactus with. A blast blows the wall of the helicarrier out. Bruce hulks out and they go off to fight Galactus. Hulk carries the “Ultimate Nullifier” into battle. Galactus kills them. Doom goes back in time again.

Heroes Reborn- The Return #1- Hulk stands outside a television store that is doing a report on the missing or dead heroes. Hulk asks someone to stop the pain as he walks away. Franklin Richards looks into his ball and sees in the Heroes Reborn universe as Hulk fights with Thor and Thing. The Celestial Ashema shows Franklin the other universe and says he has to clean one up.

Heroes Reborn- The Return #2- Hulk walks along Broadway sucking all the power as he walks. Doc Samson tells Hulk to turn around. Samson tells Hulk that they don’t want to fight with him, but he is shorting out energy everywhere he goes. Samson tells Hulk that he needs to be contained. Hulk leaps away, but M.A.C.H.-1 blasts him out of the sky. Hulk lands in Central Park. Hercules, the Thunderbolts, and Doc Samson confront Hulk. Hulk tells them to leave him alone. At the same time Heroes Reborn Hulk is still fighting with Thor. Suddenly the ground before them bursts open and lava explodes out. Hulk leaves as Thor helps the people. Back in our universe, as Hulk fights the heroes rain pours down in buckets. Spider-Man arrives. Hulk says Hercules is a god, but it seems that God is on his side for once as the massive rainfall washes the heroes away. Spider-Man leaps on Hulk’s back as Franklin’s ball arrives. Both are sucked into the ball. Bannerless Hulk comes face to face with Heroes Reborn Hulk. They recognize each other and both say that they will smash.

Heroes Reborn- The Return #3- Heroes Reborn says he will smash fake Hulk. Bannerless Hulk says that he has been looking for Banner and that now he has found him he will smash him. Spider-Man tries to keep them apart, but leaps out of the way as they collide. Heroes Reborn Hulk throws Bannerless. Bannerless says that this is all Banner’s fault. He asks if he thinks he is the real Hulk because he has Banner. Bannerless says that he has been searching for Banner, but now being with Banner again and remembering what it was like having Banner in his head he decided he wants to keep him out. Bannerless ties up Heroes Reborn and kicks his face. They fall off the bridge and into the water together. They would have killed each other, but Dr. Doom’s neural dampener and gamma inhibitor stops them and brings them on board his ship. He grabs the other heroes that were on the bridge. Doom regresses Heroes Reborn Hulk into Banner. The Celestials appear.

Heroes Reborn- The Return #4- Bannerless Hulk stands around with all the heroes on Doom’s ship. Banner says that they’re going to try to save the world, but if they don’t at least the Atomic Knights will go out in style. Ashema promises to let the Heroes Reborn world live if the heroes return to our dimension. Doom directs his ship towards the hole for the other universe. As they pass through Banner thinks of Betty, Rick, and his father. The ship breaks apart. Bannerless Hulk and Bruce Banner hurtle towards each other. All the power that Hulk has been crackling explodes. A hole rips open as the heroes cross over.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #461- In Flagpole Arizona General Ross is called in as Bruce is spotted having breakfast. Ross goes in solo leaving Colonel St. Lawrence and the troops behind. Ross enters the restaurant. Bruce nonchalantly says he thought Ross was dead. Ross says that if Bruce was dead everytime he was thought to be they could fill Arlington Cemetery. Bruce invites Ross to sit. He says that he would order Ross some food, but it seems the waitress has run screaming from the place. Bruce sees Ross still likes Cuban Manudos Supremos, but this is a no smoking section and he knows Ross is a stickler for the rules. All the time Ross holds his gun on Bruce. Ross says that Bruce is to turn himself in. Bruce asks if he is to come willingly. Ross says that he doesn’t want to choose between his daughter and his duty to the government. Suddenly the Destroyer emerges from the ground. The Destroyer says that he sensed Bruce was here. Destroyer recognizes Ross and says that this will be a pleasure killing him. Bruce dives and saves Ross from the blast. Bruce hulks out. Hulk says that he recognizes Destroyer somehow. Hulk leaps at Destroyer. Destroyer grabs Hulk and lifts him over his head. He throws Hulk into a building. Hulk throws a bank vault door into Destroyer’s back as he turns to confront Ross. Hulk leaps onto Destroyer. Destroyer bearhugs Hulk and says that he is going to count each rib as they break. Destroyer tries to kill Ross with an eyebeam. Hulk redirects it at the trolls Destroyer came with. Hulk hits Destroyer. Destroyer blasts Hulk drawing blood. Destroyer starts pounding on Hulk. Destroyer says something that tips Hulk off that it is Maestro. Destroyer steps on Hulk’s blood. Hulk is pulled into the Destroyer armor since the suit doesn’t know the difference between Maestro and Hulk. Maestro goes to kill hulk’s body with the demolecularizer eye beam. Hulk closes the visor. They are thrown from the suit. Bruce Banner gets up and finds Cary St. Lawrence with dozens of soldiers all with guns aimed at him. Ross tells them to raise their guns. Ross hands Bruce a cigar and says he should have expected a pipe man to mistake his uppmanns for manudos.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #462- Bruce is being lowered by helicopter as he is strewn out in restraints that seems shaped as a cross. Banner says that the symbolism is sickening. Later Bruce sits in his cell as Betty is allowed to come see him. Bruce says, “Hi honey. I’m home.” Betty runs to Bruce and they hug. Bruce changes into Hulk. Betty looks at hulk and says that they have unfinished business. Betty dares Hulk to tell him that he doesn’t remember her. Hulk says he is leaving. Colonel St. Lawrence tells hulk to go ahead and that they won’t hunt him. Hulk crashes out of the building. Hulk walks past soldiers. They are told to ignore Hulk so they talk about the army navy game and don’t even look at him. Hulk lifts a tank over his head and shouts that they can’t keep him there. Lawrence tells him to go ahead and break it if he wants. Ross says they will arrange transport to a remote area where Hulk can be all alone. They tell him to go. Hulk says nobody tells him what to do.

Avengers vol 3 #1- The Hulk calls the Avengers mansion after being attacked by Asgardian trolls. Hulk says that he doesn't want to be bothered, and that the next time he is bothered, he will come and bother them.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #462- Later Bruce talks to Reed and Tony about making an exo-skeleton for Rick that will allow him to walk despite his waist down paralysis. Bruce is allowed to go see Rick at a hospital in San Francisco. Bruce flies and holds Betty’s hand. Later still Bruce and Betty see Marlo at the hospital. They go in and Bruce sees Rick. Bruce asks if Rick remembers what happened. Rick says it is just starting to come back a little. The ground starts to shake. A giant robot reaches into the room and grabs Bruce. Bruce tells Hulk to come out. Hulk says nobody tells him what to do.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #463- Bruce realizes that Hulk knew they weren’t going to kill him. Bruce sticks his tongue out at the robot. The robot moves to smash Betty, Marlo, and Rick. Hulk comes out and destroys the robot’s hand. Hulk rips the robot’s head off. He recognizes the pilot as a Troyjan. The guy sacrifices himself as the other giant robots take off. Hulk goes after them. The robots fly to Stanford where Chelsea Clinton is. Ross is kidnapped by the Troyjans. The Troyjans don’t realize this however. Hulk arrives and starts smashing. The Troyjan ship hovers above as Hulk finishes up. They send a holographic image down to Hulk. They show Hulk that they have General Ross as a hostage. Hulk laughs, but then Banner comes out. Banner says that as long as Ross isn’t hurt he will cooperate within reason. Bruce is flown up to the ship and taken to Ross. The Troyjans say that Ross will help them too, as he owes it to them. Ross starts to remember.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #464- Banner and Ross are taken to Freehold where they see a giant statue of Armageddon holding Hulk’s severed head as he stands with Trauma. They come across Rock. When Rock calls Ross “Redeemer” Ross remembers how he came back all the way to life. Bruce holds up Ross as he feels feint. Armageddon stands before them. Armageddon says that they tracked Hulk and when they found Freehold they saw it was of use to them. They restored Ross and sent him out into the world. Armageddon says that Bruce will sacrifice himself so that Trauma can live. Trauma shows Bruce Leader’s machine that can reanimate a person’s body and soul with the right power source. The power came from Soul Man before, but with him dead they want Hulk to sacrifice himself as the power. Bruce says Hulk won’t cooperate, but then Hulk starts to come out. Hulk stands with Armageddon as Silver Surfer arrives. Hulk tells them that there doesn’t need to be a fight and that he will do what Armageddon wants. In exchange for Hulk’s cooperation Armageddon agrees to leave earth right away. Hulk gets strapped into the machine. He generates so much power that Trauma’s body is incinerated and the machine is destroyed. Hulk gets up. Armageddon says that Hulk knew all along that he would do that. Hulk says yes. Armageddon keeps his word to leave, but asks Hulk when he kills him will anyone care enough to try and bring him back.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #465- Betty and Cary St. Lawrence enter the room as Bruce, Tony Stark, Reed Richards, General Ross, and Doc Samson sit playing poker and smoking cigars. Betty fakes everyone out when she asks Bruce if four of a kind is good. The four were four hearts and one club from his busted flush. The game breaks up. Betty asks Bruce if he wants to play some poker in their room. Bruce and Betty walk and Bruce talks about the fact that both Betty and Rick have books, and that maybe he should write his. Bruce starts to brood wondering what great things Betty could have done if she hadn’t “wasted” her life with him. Bruce says that they don’t belong together. Betty says that she will play him poker for it. Later Samson tries to talk to them, but Bruce just lost his last piece of clothing in the game. Samson says he has to get out more and wonders what She-Hulk is doing. Later still Bruce enters to help Rick as he is testing his new exo-skeleton. Bruce hulks out. He says that he doesn’t get why. Hulk holds Rick. Reed tries to tell Hulk there doesn’t have to be a problem. Hulk says that he has the problem. He throws Reed aside. The catwalk Hulk is on collapses. Reed says that they are just trying to help Rick walk. Hulk gets flustered and leaps away. Rick uses his suit to leap after Hulk, but has pain from the strain. Hulk comes back for Rick. Hulk says that it would be better if he left everyone alone. Rick says that he doesn’t mean that. Hulk shouts, “I did this to you!” Rick asks what, but Hulk stops confessing and tells him that he gave him this life. Rick says that Hulk wouldn’t even be here if it wasn’t for him. Hulk says that somehow he would’ve become anyway. Rick says Hulk nearly has it all and asks why he doesn’t want it. Hulk says he is afraid of losing it. Rick says he won’t steer Hulk wrong…just like the old days. Hulk tells Rick to jump on his back and they leap back. Later Gyrich makes the president’s offer to Bruce, Betty, Ross, and Cary. There is no pardon, but they offer Bruce shelter and a job working for them while continuing therapy with Samson. Bruce says since his only other option is to go on the run he accepts. Later Bruce tells Betty that he is worried about having everything because it is just more to lose.

Incredible Hulk vol. 3 #24- flashback- Bruce sits up in bed and looks down at Betty just to be sure that she was still there.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #465- Bruce wakes up. He hears Betty in the other room. Betty is green and sick looking. She asks Bruce to help her.

Incredible Hulk and Sub-Mariner 1998- Bruce Banner floats along in a boat he rented. Banner looks at a picture of his wedding day thinking how stupid Betty was to marry him. As Bruce watches the picture the image of him turns into an image of the Hulk, and Betty’s image changes to her green poisoned form. Bruce puts a gun to his head, but can’t pull the trigger. Bruce unloads the gun into the boat. The boat sinks and Bruce’s foot gets caught on a rope dragging him down. Bruce empties all the air out of his lungs so that the Hulk can’t hold his breath. Bruce changes into Hulk, but Hulk doesn’t make it to the surface. Attuma's ship picks up an out cold and dying Hulk from the ocean. His assistant gives Hulk a shot that turns his skin blue, and allows him to breathe water. Hulk wakes up in his usual good mood, and crashes out of the ship as it drives away. Hulk walks along the ocean floor trying to figure out where he is when Namor attacks him. Namor thinks Hulk is in league with Attuma because it’s clear that Attuma gave him the serum to breathe underwater. Hulk fights back, but is feeling weak. Namor says that Hulk gave Attuma strength from his blood. Hulk freaks and says that nobody is going to blame his blood for anything. He grabs Namor and pins him against the rock. The monstrous Vashti finds his way to Hulk and Namor as they fight. The fight ends as Vashti loses his gamma powers. Hulk also turns into Banner. When Banner awakens he finds that Attuma has been rampaging through Atlantis powered by his blood. Attuma had been fighting Namor when Hulk arrives. Attuma starts to pull Namor's arms back when Hulk jumps onto Attuma's shoulders driving Attuma into the ground. Hulk says he will get his blood back by beating it out of Attuma. Attuma hits Hulk. Namor and Hulk hit Attuma together, but Attuma just smashes their heads together. Hulk and Namor wonder why Attuma hasn't depowered like Vashti did. Namor takes off after Zantor. Attuma continues to beat on Hulk until Hulk low blows him, and then bites his thumbs. Hulk claps his hands, and starts to charge. Hulk grabs his throat like the water breathing elixir was wearing off, but really Hulk was just faking so Namor could grab Attuma. Hulk rips the tubes that are feeding Attuma a continual supply of Hulk's blood. The elixir that allows Hulk to breathe underwater runs out and Namor zooms Hulk to Atlantis. Later Bruce designs a gamma purifier that will help the Atlanteans avoid a bacteria called Black Tide. Banner’s scientific curiosity is re-ignited as he starts to think about the other gamma projects he wants to do. As Bruce leaves to go back to the surface one of the Atlanteans says she wants to name her baby Banner after him, but Bruce requests that she be called Betty.
