Hulk vol 2 #102Hulk chronology continues...
Incredible Hulk vol 2 #107- Hulk takes the blast from Brevlov's ship. Before Yuri can use the Uni-disintergrator against Hulk Fury shoots down their ship. Fury uses a beam to hold the ship up so it won't crash, but Hulk goes over and shakes everyone out of the ship. Fury beams them all aboard before Hulk can smash them. Mandarin thinks of a way to use Hulk as a means to help him take over the world. Hulk decides to go to a town in order to feed the small boy. The town comes to attack Hulk, but the boy stops the fight. Hulk leaves the kid there and leaves. Hulk is then teleported to the Mandarin. Mandarin tests Hulk's reflexes and strength. After five or so tests Hulk gets angry and throws the ground Mandarin was on. The Mandarin was just a robot, but the real Mandarin, watching on a screen, deploys a giant android for Hulk to fight. Hulk wraps it up in drapes and throws it into space. Mandarin offers his allegiance, but Hulk leaves. Mandarin sends out his troops. Hulk crushes them with the building they're in. Hulk sees Mandarin and leaps for him. The Mandarin was just an illusion and Hulk falls into a pit of quicksand.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #108- Hulk sinks into the quicksand, but finds the wall to the trap and breaks through. Mandarin then gasses the Hulk. His soldiers take Hulk to the medi-chamber where Hulk is fitted with a control device. Mandarin plans to use Hulk to make each nuclear world power think that he works for their enemy causing nuclear war. Afterward Mandarin will rise to power. Hulk awakens and breaks out of his bonds. Mandarin activates the device and sets Hulk to destroying the railroad terminal at the mouth of Tsen-Tse river. Fury and Brevlov see Hulk attacking the terminal and decide to work together to avoid war. The Chinese mobilize for war. Hulk leaps away to destroy a power plant. Hulk smashes to tanks together. Tony Stark contacts Fury to let him know Mandarin is behind Hulk's attack. Fury flies a ship into Mandarin's base as Brevlov leaps and knocks the controlling device from Mandarin's hand. Hulk awakens and wants to get Mandarin. Mandarin manages to hold Brevlov hostage against Fury. Just then Hulk breaks through the wall. He sees Mandarin and Brevlov and gets real mad. Hulk then picks up Mandarin's castle causing it to collapse on itself.
Incredible Hulk King-Size Special #1- Hulk runs into a peasant who runs from him. Hulk causes an avalanche to warn people against attacking him. Hulk comes across Lockjaw. They battle and Lockjaw teleports Hulk to the same location as six Inhumans (Falcona, Leonus, Nebulo, Timberius, Stallior, and Aireo) banished for treason. Maximus watches his six and aids Hulk as he breaks the barrier and frees himself and the banished. They want Hulk to join with them, but Hulk refuses. A battle breaks out until Maximus teleports in and tells them he will get them out if they will help him take over the Great Refuge. Hulk is mad he was brought to the Refuge and attacks Maximus. The guards breakthrough the doors. Maximus and his Inhumans run while Hulk remains to fight. Hulk decides to leave, but is shot down twice by ships. Hulk destroys one and the others run. Maximus tells the other of an ultimate weapon, a blob that absorbs life force, he says he can control it, but needs them to get the Hulk to break it out of the special wall. Nebulo, the Shadow, shoots down a plane to help Hulk. Hulk figures the shadow is his friend. Hulk breaks through the wall for Maximus because Maximus calls him his friend. Hulk grabs the container with the weapon in it. Maximus demands he be made king again or he will release the weapon. Hulk is accidentally hit with the weapon. The six banished Inhumans turn on Maximus. They shoot Hulk again flooring him. They then throw Hulk over the ledge. Black Bolt comes and takes the weapon and knocks out Maximus. Hulk desires revenge against the six and attacks them. Black Bolt takes Maximus to the substance to destroy the weapon, but Maximus drops it and Nebulo grabs it. Black Bolt gets Falcona's birds off Hulk, but Hulk is in fighting mode and attacks Black Bolt. They fight until Hulk knocks out Nebulo as revenge. Black Bolt decrees that Hulk goes free.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #109- Hulk continues plowing through China. Hulk leaps away from the army to look for food. Hulk trips a silent alarm that brings more army. The Chinese decide they better launch a deadly missile before Hulk wrecks it. Hulk thinks that maybe it will take him to a new world so he jumps on it and wrecks it. The missile explodes and drops Hulk into the Savage Land. Hulk transforms into Banner. Kazar finds that the Swamp Men have taken Banner as a human sacrifice. Kazar saves him. Kazar shows Banner the machine that has been messing up Earth's weather systems. The Swamp Men attack the cave. Bruce hulks out. He scares the Swamp Men away, but when Kazar tells Hulk not to forget the machine Hulk knocks Kazar out with one hand.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #110- Hulk realizes his error in hurting Kazar. Zabu jumps Hulk for hurting Kazar. Kazar awakens and helps Zabu with Hulk. Kazar tells Hulk to become Banner and he freaks. Hulk leaps at Kazar, but he ducks. Hulk falls into the water. Kazar and Zabu jump in to try and get Hulk to transform. Swamp Men talk about how an alien race brought Umbu and the Machine of Glowing Light. Umbu goes out to fight. Kazar and Hulk keep fighting until Hulk throws him across the river. The Swamp Men find Kazar and decide to use him as their sacrifice. Umbu tells them to go prepare him and he will go on alone. Hulk fights the giant four-armed stone robot Umbu. Hulk throws a rock through its chest, but it heals up. Umbu shoots a tree that Hulk threw and disintegrates it. Hulk jumps to avoid the beam. Hulk causes an avalanche onto Umbu, but he gets right up. Hulk leaps up, but Umbu gasses him. Hulk transforms into Banner. Banner makes his way back to the machine. He removes the master control and Umbu collapses. Kazar finishes escaping the Swamp Men to find Banner's heart has stopped.
Captain America #110- Hulk bursts through a wall. Steve Rogers changes into his Captain America suit. Soldiers hit Hulk with a blast of pure ionic energy. Cap calls the soldiers back and goes to check on Hulk. Hulk wakes up angry. He picks up a big chunk of wall, but has it severed by Cap's shield. Hulk grabs Cap's wrists. Cap kicks Hulk in the face. Rick gets too close and Hulk lifts him in the air with one hand. With the other Hulk uproots a lampost and throws it through the ionic generator. Cap grabs Rick as Hulk leaps away.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #119- Bruce awakens and washes his face off. He feels something trying to affect his brain. Bruce comes across a farmer who seems to be in a waking coma. The man continues his plowing. Bruce lifts some clothes off a scarecrow. Bruce discovers from a car's plates that he is in Costa Salvador. Everyone in town is exactly like the farmer. Bruce notices the giant statue that is shooting beams from its head. Bruce feels the pressure in his head. A man, who is unaffected, tells Bruce to surrender to it and it won't hurt anymore. He tells Bruce that his master, who lives on the hill, will soon rule the world with his mind control. Hulk throws a truck of bricks at the statue but it isn't even scratched. Hulk decides to go find the "Great One" the man spoke of. Hulk leaps to the castle. Ross is called to Costa Salvador because the embassy has stopped responding. Maximus' mind controlling ray spreads as time grows. He plans to put towers everywhere making him ruler of the world. The man tells Maximus that Hulk is coming. Maximus rewards the man by having Falcona's birds kill him. Hulk keeps trying to get into the castle, but is shut out by a force field. Hulk breaks through so Maximus sends Falcona, Leonus, Nebulo, Timberius, Stallior, and Aireo after him. Hulk fights them all off until the army arrives. Maximus offers to let the Hulk join him.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #120- Hulk decides the army has been hounding him longer. He attacks the ground troops first. The planes drop gas missiles, but Hulk hits the ground and the shockwaves send the missiles back up in the air. The missiles drop around the soldiers knocking them out. Hulk jumps through Ross' plane's wing. Ross, Talbot, and Betty bail out. Maximus comes out and sentences them to die, but Hulk says he won't let Maximus kill anyone. Maximus calls for the giant robotic prototype for the statue in town. The robot shoots Hulk and drives him into the ground. Hulk tunnels underground and comes up outside Maximus' fortress. As the robot shoots Hulk the Hulk picks up Maximus' entire fortress. He throws it on the robot. As the soldiers start to wake up Maximus and his evil Inhumans escape underground. The soldiers try to hold the Hulk, but as Maximus' rocket blasts through the ground Hulk takes that time to leap away.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #121- As Hulk lands in Florida a missile comes up to greet him. Hulk lands in the swamp. Talbot tells Ross hulk was seen in Florida. They turn the plane towards Florida. Hulk gets up and walks to a shack. Hulk tears it open. Inside are cans of radioactive waste. Hulk kicks them into the swamp water. The Glob is created. The tanks can't get into the swamp. Glob had been a prisoner whose love was dying. He escaped from prison, but died in the swamp. Hulk is attacked by Hydro-tanks and planes. Hulk hits the swamp knocking all the tanks upward causing them to hit the planes. Later Betty sees a giant figure and thinking it the Hulk opens the door. The figure was the Glob. Betty seemingly reminded the man inside the Glob of his love he died trying to see. Talbot tells Ross. Hulk sees Glob with Betty. Hulk goes to save Betty. Glob puts Betty down. Glob throws Hulk into a tree. Hulk uproots the ground Glob is on. Hulk jumps on him, but Glob knocks him off. Glob hits Hulk and picks up Betty to walk back into the swamp. The swamp is glowing from radioactivity. Glob begins dissolving. Glob holds Betty overhead to protect her. Hulk manages to hang from a tree and grab her before Glob dissolves. Talbot and Ross see Hulk walking away from Betty. Then Glen decides it was really Hulk that took Betty.
Uncanny X-Men #66- Professor X is in a coma from mind link he performed. Hank McCoy uses a mind probe on him. Xavier awakens only to tell them to find the Hulk. Jean then uses her power to probe Xavier's mind. She only sees a mental image of the Hulk. Cyclops thinks maybe it's Banner who will help Xavier. Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Beast, and Angel track Hulk to Las Vegas. Angel tries to dive bomb Hulk, but Hulk claps his hands knocking Angel down. Beast then dropkicks Hulk, but Hulk whacks him away. Cyclops says he wants to talk to Hulk, but Hulk isn't falling for that one. Cyclops unloads on Hulk, but Hulk keeps coming towards him. Marvel Girl hits Hulk at the same time with a mental blast. Hulk keeps pushing towards them, but eventually is knocked down. Hulk changes back to Banner. Talbot shows up with the army. Bruce remembers Xavier because the two worked on a gamma ray treatment for mental exhaustion. Talbot couldn't care less. Bruce hulks out and starts destroying tanks. Hulk leaps away. The X-Men follow him. Hulk starts throwing boulders at them. Cyclops destroys it with his optic blast. Beast hits Hulk from behind knocking him off his cliff to be buried by an avalanche. Hulk gets up less than pleased. The X-Men see that the avalanche caused one of Banner's secret labs to be exposed. Angel goes in to try and find the machine they need. Hulk hits the ground and opens a chasm that Cyclops and Marvel Girl fall in. Beast saves them, and when Angel comes out with the machine they run for it.
X-Men: The Hidden Years #1- The X-Men see that the avalanche caused one of Banner's secret labs to be exposed. Angel goes in to try and find the machine they need. Hulk hits the ground and opens a chasm that Cyclops and Marvel Girl fall in. Beast saves them, and when Angel comes out with the machine they run for it.
Incredible Hulk #127- Walking across the street while not paying attention, Bruce is hit by a truck. The Hulk coms out and is surrounded by police. Tyrannus tried to bring Hulk to him, but missed and transported the police "threatening" Hulk. Hulk supposes that whoever took the police must be Hulk's only friend. This gives Tyrannus the idea to dispatch Mogol to befriend the Hulk so that Hulk might work for him. Tyrannus needs Hulk to take back the fountain from Mole Man, who marches against him now. Tyrannus sends Mogol there. Mogol offers the friendship of Tyrannus. Hulk remembers the name and that he doesn't like it. Hulk charges Mogol. Mogol is angry now. He picks an entire high rise and throws it on Hulk. Mogol is impressed Hulk gets up. They decide to test themselves against a train, but it manages to stop. Mogol hits Hulk as he turns to the train. Hulk hits Mogol through many support beams. Hulk finally accepts Mogol's friendship, and the two teleport back to Tyrannus. Mogol and Hulk work as Tyranus yells at them to hurry up. Hulk is content to be wanted. Hulk and Mogol become friends and finish assembling tanks and they go to fight the Mole Man. Hulk still doesn't like Tyrannus, but works because Mogol is his friend. During the battle Mogol is hit, and Hulk discovers that Mogol is a robot. Hulk is mad because he thinks he was tricked, but Mogol didn't know he was a robot. Hulk doesn't care and begins destroying Mogol. Mogol doesn't fight back because Hulk is his friend. Mogol begs Hulk, but Hulk destroys his only friend. Hulk finishes smashing Mole Man and then goes and wreaks havoc on Tyrannus' city. Hulk walks away and finally feels bad for killing his friend Mogol.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #128- Hulk is trying to make his way back to the surface, but he is so deep that as he goes up and west he is gradually working his way across the entire country. The army discovers that the Hulk is causing earthquakes as he goes because he keeps causing avalanches with his smashing. Ross summons the Avengers only to find there is no Captain America, Thor, or Iron Man, but rather Quicksilver, Vision, Goliath, the Scarlet Witch, and the Black Panther. If Hulk makes it to the San Andreas Fault he will send California into the ocean. They move to his projected location. The Avengers help set up the Gammatron Bombarder. Once Hulk passes the Bombarder it will transform him back into Banner. Hulk smashes something and the Avengers feel that they are right on top of Hulk. Vision fades through the ground to talk to Hulk. Hulk attacks Vision thinking he is sneaking up on him. Vision leads Hulk back to the surface. Hulk leaps out and bumps into Goliath's chest. Hulk battles back and forth with the Avengers until finally Goliath challenges hulk. As Hulk goes towards Goliath he is caught in the path of the Gammatron Bombarder. Hulk fights off the effects and leaps away. The Avengers and army go looking but what they don't realize is that the effect is delayed and Hulk falls to the ground and turns into Banner.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #129- Leader is watching Banner walk out of the woods. He flies away. Bruce is suddenly picked up by a man in a truck. The man has amnesia and only knows his name. While eating Bruce tells the man about the Glob (a being who was even stronger than the Hulk). Suddenly the man gets up and runs out with a headache. The man runs into an alley and changes into the Leader. Leader had been following but transformed into Sam Sterns to talk with Bruce. With the knowledge of the Glob Leader goes out and recreates the Glob. Leader then burns an impression on the Glob's feeble mind of the Hulk hurting Betty. Leader allows Glob to find Hulk even if he is Bruce. Leader then sends Glob out to stop Hulk. Glob finds Bruce in the Los Angeles sewers. Bruce changes. Glob hits Hulk into the sewer wall. Hulk then collapses the sewer burying the Glob under the concrete and cars above. Glob emerges so Hulk throws a gasoline tanker on him. Glob emerges behind Hulk and grabs him. Glob lifts Hulk over his head, but Hulk hits him and hurts him. Hulk knocks the Glob into the fire and Glob pulls Hulk into the water below with him. Hulk climbs an electric tower. Glob climbs after him. Hulk electrocutes Glob and Glob explodes as he falls to the ground. Hulk leaps away and the pieces of Glob slowly start to move closer to each other.
Captain Marvel #20- Rick Jones and Captain Marvel are tired of having to share an existence. Rick figures that maybe the brain of Bruce Banner might help. Captain Marvel flies to where Rick told him Bruce's secret hideouts were. Cap gets exhausted and collapses in a shallow desert river. Rick Jones emerges. Bruce sees via a camera that Rick is out there. His first thought is to go help Rick, but for some reason Bruce thinks that maybe Rick has ratted him out to the Avengers Hulk just fought. Bruce hulks out, and Hulk leaps out to kill the spy.
Captain Marvel #21- Hulk decides he can't hit a sleeping boy. He goes to get some water to wake Rick so he can find out who sent him. The water calms Hulk and he transforms back to Banner. Rick wakes up and Bruce is now happy to see him. Rick tells Bruce that he is also Captain Marvel. Bruce has read a bit about the negative zone. He remembers that Reed theorized that the negative zone is somehow related to gamma and cosmic rays. Bruce figures that maybe he will be able to help Rick, himself, and the Thing. Bruce builds a machine that will allow them to get to the negative zone. Bruce is exhausted and sleeps. Bruce thinks to call his old professor at Desert State, Dr. Joseph Weller. Weller is under siege by protesters who mistakenly think that Weller is doing germ warfare or building a death ray. Bruce is worried about his old teacher and starts flipping out. Bruce hulks out. Hulk starts wrecking stuff. Rick changes into Mar-Vell just to be safe. Mar-Vell won't let Hulk go beat on the protestors. Captain Marvel moves real fast and nails Hulk four times, but Hulk takes it and then smacks Captain Marvel down with one hit. Hulk leaps off. Mar-Vell wakes up and goes after Hulk. Hulk lands and those hippies run for it. Hulk realizes this is Banner's place, which only makes him angrier. Mar-Vell plows into Hulk and then summons al his power and hits Hulk. Hulk is stunned for a second. Mar-Vell hits again, but again Hulk just bats him away. Mar-Vell used up all his energy on the Hulk and he changes back to Rick Jones. Rick faces down the Hulk, and gives the Hulk a change of heart and Hulk storms off.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #130- The Hulk leaps up and destroys a plane. When he lands Bruce Banner emerges from the crater. Bruce sees a sign for Desert University State and recalls the events of Captain Marvel #21. Bruce decides that he had better go back and see if Dr. Herbert Weller is okay. Bruce returns to find Raoul Stoddard, his fellow alumni, temporarily teaching Weller's classes. Banner tells Stoddard he has a way to rid himself of the Hulk. Stoddard takes Bruce to his and Dr Weller's secret lab losing the army plane that was tailing Bruce on the way. Together Stoddard and Banner alter the Gammatron to suit Bruce's nature. They shoot Banner and after Bruce get of the machine the form of the Hulk remains. When they turn the machine off they discover that Hulk is now a separate entity. Bruce runs for it. He gets in Stoddard's car, but Hulk emerges from the road and destroys it. The army attacks Hulk. Ross notices that Banner is standing there and lowers a line to him. The army delays Hulk long enough for Banner and Ross to get away. Banner says that he has a nagging fear that he won't stay separated from Hulk. A soldier comes in and says that the hulk is coming straight for Banner. Banner realizes that he and Hulk, though separated, are still one. Hulk bursts through the wall. Bruce drives off in a truck and gets back to Stoddard. Stoddard made some changes to the machine and thinks he can trap Hulk inside Banner. Stoddard clamps Banner to the machine and reveals his resentment towards the preferential treatment Banner got. When the army bursts in Stoddard decides to kill Banner because he is sick of being second best. The Hulk bursts in and notices the gun aimed at him and realizes it was a trap. Stoddard tries to get Hulk to finish Banner, but Hulk smacks him and leaps away. Stoddard is arrested.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #131- Hulk realizes that to get revenge on Banner he must get Banner to come to him. Our introduction to Jim Wilson is watching him steal a purse. Jim returned the purse, but is still upset at his fire-gutted tenement. He sees Hulk there. Hulk says that if Jim won't rat him out Hulk won't kill him. Hulk tells Jim to bring Banner to him. Jim and Hulk develop a bond. Jim sneaks onto the base. Jim sees some of his deceased father in Bruce as Bruce tries to convince Ross to have he and the Hulk merged again. Jim gets busted and brought before Ross and Banner. Jim tells his story. Iron Man arrives to lend assistance. They all decide to merge Banner again, but hopefully also trapping Hulk inside him. Jim Wilson betrays the Hulk. Hulk grabs Jim and makes the Gammatron useless because they don't want to kill Jim. Iron Man charges in. Jim runs. Hulk grabs Iron Man, but IM blasts his way loose. Iron Man swoops in, but Hulk snags his foot. Hulk hits Iron Man. Iron Man blasts the vacated buildings down on Hulk. Hulk breaks out, but the Gammatron shoots him. Banner runs in and is re-united with Hulk. Hulk is out and imprisoned in the magno-clamp. Iron Man notices that, though relaxed, Hulk is not turning back to Banner. IM fears Banner is trapped forever.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #132- Hours later Hulk still hasn't changed back to Banner, but the Hulk had been faking unconsciousness all the time getting stronger. Hulk breaks loose, but is defeated by a tranqui-shell. Jim leaves feeling like a traitor. Ross has Talbot tail Jim. Jim notices it and runs into a ship that says it is there to help Jim. The ship is actually Hydra, and though Jim doesn't trust them does assist them in breaking out the Hulk. With Hulk captive, in restraints that drain his will, the Hydra get ready to kill Jim. Hulk breaks out to save Jim. Hydra hits Jim while shooting at Hulk. Hulk freaks. Ross finds Hulk is gone. Hulk grabs Jim and leaps from the plane.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #133- Ross approaches Hulk and Jim alone. Hulk gets ready to smash Ross, but Jim convinces Hulk to let Ross lower a stretcher from a plane. Ross then tries to talk to Hulk, but the pilots attack Hulk despite orders. Hulk starts destroying and Ross orders a retreat since he really didn't come to fight. Hulk leaps towards the pacific coast and hides inside a crate headed for Morvania. Hulk sleeps until it reaches its destination. The crates are to be delivered to Draxon, new dictator of Morvania. Draxon plans to use the crate's contents to take over the world. Hulk busts out of the crates and demands to know where he is. Draxon offers to have Hulk join him, but when Hulk declines Draxon has his soldiers shoot Hulk into a 1000-foot drop. Draxon gloats until Hulk makes his way back up and starts smashing. Hulk grabs Draxon, but paralyzed with fear Draxon is spared by the Hulk because he isn't worth smashing. Hulk comes up behind Rachel, daughter of Isaac the leader of Morvania's revolution.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #134- Hulk walks Rachel home. Isaac goes to hit Hulk, but Hulk leaves instead. Rachel then tells Isaac that she thinks Hulk is the Golem. Golem of legend helped free his people. Isaac thinks that maybe the Hulk could be their Golem. Draxon hears Hulk is in the old city. Isaac and the revolutionaries seek out the Hulk in the old city. Isaac asks Hulk's help, but Hulk says that as long as Draxon doesn't bother him Hulk won't fight. Isaac decides to attack that night anyway. Someone rats them out. Rachel talks to the Hulk. When Rachel cries Hulk decides to help. Hulk starts smashing. Draxon shows up with his "ultimate weapon", the War-Tower of Draxon. Draxon gets a few shots in, but Hulk destroys the incredibly un-ultimate weapon. Draxon is killed during the explosion. Isaac gives the amulet to Hulk and proclaims that tradition demand that Hulk be the new king. Hulk destroys the amulet and leaves.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #135- Kang decides that the Phantom Eagle would somehow help him conquer the Avengers. He tries to get to the Eagle, but is stopped by a time storm. Kang needs someone that survive the time storm so he uses his machine to pull the Hulk to him. Kang tells Hulk he will help Hulk get rid of Banner forever. Kang tells Hulk that if he smashes phantom eagle that it will get rid of Banner forver. Kang sends Hulk there. Phantom Eagle wound up destroying a weapon that if it weren't destroyed would have killed Banner's french grandfather during World War I. Without a grandfather, no Banner, without Banner, no Hulk, without Hulk, no Avengers. And without the Avengers Kang will rule the 20th century. Hulk destroys the german tanks that attack him. Hulk see Phantom Eagle and leaps to stop him. Hulk cause the eagle to swerve and he releases his bomb to early and does not destroy the cannon destined to kill Banner's grandfather. Hulk is still being shot at. Hulk thinks it was the cannon and destroys it himself. Hulk is sucked back through the time stream to his own present.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #138- Hulk emerges from the water he fell into from falling from space. Hulk changes back to Banner. The Sandman comes to the hospital that Betty and Jim are in because of his glass skin. Bruce grabs Jim. Jim points out Betty's room to Bruce. Betty awakens from a nightmare to see Bruce in her room. Bruce says he needs to work out his problem on his own. Sandman needs a blood transfusion, but nobody matches his because of how the radiation has affected him. The doc figures since Betty was about to be released she would stand a better chance at survival. Bruce hides when they come take Betty away. Sandman and Betty exchange blood (not sure why they didn't just pump other blood into Sandman but… eh). Bruce freaks and hulks out. Hulk barrels through the wall. Sandman fights Hulk figuring it'll boost him to leader of the Frightful Four. Sandman knocks Hulk outside. The two fight until Ross traps them both in a cage. Ross releases them over the sea. Hulk makes a whirlwind with his arm. It disperses Sandman. Ross returns to find Betty turned into a glass statue.
Sub-Mariner #34- Hulk emerges again from the sea. The island of San Pablo is surrounded by barbwire, but Hulk knocks it away. Hulk steps on a land mine. Hulk gets up and runs through the soldiers. Hulk walks on to the jungle. Namor watches Hulk on a monitor. Namor is going to need Hulk's help. Men are building an experimental apparatus that is going to mess with the weather. Namor sees the Silver Surfer and thinks that he may be of help as well. Namor has to battle Surfer, but eventually tells Surfer of the threat to the planet. They go together to recruit the Hulk. Hulk attacks Namor, and Surfer and Namor try to talk to him as they battle. San Pablo's paranoid dictator attacks the trio thinking they're after him. Ironic that Namor uses it to convince Hulk that they are his allies against the humans. Without meaning to Namor, Hulk, and Surfer liberate San Pablo.
Sub-Mariner #35- Hulk and Namor ride with Surfer on his board. As the approach their destination Namor tells Hulk they want to try and talk it out first. Hulk wants no piece of that, and he leaps from Surfer's board to fight. Namor stops him, but the man in charge of the machine isn't exactly listening. Surfer melts their weapons, and the soldiers are under orders to retreat in the face of insurmountable odds. The United Nations contacts the Avengers. While the others are at a charity gig Thor, Goliath, and Iron Man remain behind. Goliath and Thor discuss how much they dislike the UN's weather machine when they are called in to protect it. Namor's scientists arrive with Lady Dorma. The Avengers arrive and Surfer and Namor say they have no wish to fight, but Hulk casts his vote in the category of throwing down. Thor asks for Namor's reasons, but Hulk pounces on Thor. Giant-Man fights Namor, Iron Man fights Surfer. Thor hits Hulk, but Hulk comes right back hitting the ground, which throws Thor off balance. Hulk then hits him causing Thor to drop his hammer. Hulk can't resist trying to pick it up. Hulk decides that if he can't have it Thor won't either. Namor beats Giant-Man while Dorma reasons with the UN troops. They blow a horn to get everyone's attention. Thor makes the very wimpy move of hitting Hulk while Hulk looks to see what the noise is. Namor's scientist shows why the machine is dangerous. Hulk decides to smash it, but Namor and Surfer jump on him to hold him back. Hulk knocks them off and says he has had enough of "friends" who attack him. Hulk leaps away.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #139- The Leader watches the Hulk and thinks maybe if the Hulk were to fight all of his foes it might cause him to have a heart attack. Leader contacts Talbot. Leader talks Talbot into helping him destroy the Hulk. Hulk pets a deer in the woods. Talbot convinces Ross by lying saying it won't kill Hulk. Ross convinces Richard Nixon…anyway. Nixon makes Spiro Ross' liaison. The government has a machine that project thoughts into three-dimensional objects, but nobody with a big enough brain, therefore the Leader. Leader finds Hulk and forces him to fight mental projections of Rhino, Xeron, Namor, and Missing Link. Talbot's conscience gets to him so Leader has to paralyze them with an eldritch mental blast. Leader then has Hulk fight projections of Night-Crawler, Mandarin, Sandman, Glob, Iron Man, and Absorbing Man. Jim Wilson pulls a bunch of wires out causing Leader to project his own enemies. Leader runs from a mental projection of Hulk. Leader is surrounded by Hulks and goes catatonic. As Hulk is fighting a mental projection of Abomination the image disappears and Hulk leaps away. The leap rattles the glass frame of Betty Ross.
Fantastic Four #111- The Thing underwent a psychological transformation with Reed's latest attempt at a cure. Thing starts rampaging. Human Torch sends up a fiery message for Bruce Banner to contact the Fantastic Four. Banner takes a cab, but when he sees Thing rampaging he hulks out and charges from the cab to fight Thing.
Fantastic Four #113- Reed tries to hear a pulse or heartbeat on Thing, but finds none. Banner knows that Hulk didn't want to kill Thing it was just an accident because Thing looked away during the fight. Banner leaves. Reed winds up taking Thing back to his lab and Human Torch uses his power to energize a power booster that saves Ben Grimm.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #142- Hull leaps off a garbage barge. He swims to the Statue of Liberty and falls asleep in her crown. This family of whackos decides it's a good idea to throw a benefit for the Hulk. Their daughter wants it to go to Women's Liberation, but someone already had one for that. Ross and Talbot try to talk Hulk down. The daughter gets the family by the guard, and then she convinces the Hulk that he needs his own country where the police won't oppress him (ugh the 70's). Hulk decides to go with the girl. He trusts her. Daddy whacko brags about helping the Hulk to the papers. Samantha (the girl) is disgusted and leaves). Hulk is at the party. He wants to know where the girl is. "Where is girl...if this is all a trap, Hulk will smash you all!" "Isn't he just adorable, Lizabeth? He's been saying that all day." Hulk mistakes a woman at the party who had her hair dyed green for the party with Jarella. Samantha is picketing the party with other Women's Libbers. Enchantress turns Samantha into the Valkyrie in order for her to exact revenge for the Enchantress (see Hulk 101). Hulk gets sick of trying to get food off the waiters' trays; he grabs a waiter and eats the entire tray. Daddy whack-job gives Hulk a bunch of money, but Hulk has no idea what to do with it. Valkyrie bursts through the wall. Hulk won't hit Valkyrie because she is a woman. Hulk breaks through the wall, but as he leaves Valkyrie apologizes. Really she just wanted to get close enough to Hulk to push a pressure point on Hulk's body knocking him out…right. She takes him to the top of the Empire State Building and throws him off. Hulk wakes up angry on the ground. Valkyrie comes at Hulk again and this time Hulk decides to fight, but Enchantress' spell slips off and both Valkyrie and Hulk and turned into Samantha and Bruce respectively. Bruce leaves.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #143-Bruce is on the run from the cops when Doctor Doom picks him up in his car. Doom's driver takes the pair into the Latvarian embassy. The army surrounds the embassy. Doc Samson shows up with a haircut. Doom sends out a Hulk robot. A few tanks get wrecked and "Hulk" leaves. They shoot "Hulk" and it blasts into atoms. Everyone mourns Bruce's death. Bruce freaks inside Doom's embassy, but Doom gases Bruce. Doom has Banner loaded onto a ship and flies him back to Latveria. Doom plans to make Banner and Hulk his ally in order to crush those who oppose him.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #144- Bruce Banner was mind controlled by Dr. Doom. Bruce is working on the gamma bomb for Latveria. Doom tries to impress his love Valeria by showing her the development of a gamma bomb for Latveria. Valeria mentions that she heard the gamma bomb made Banner the Hulk. Hearing the name causes Banner to hulk out. Doom had planned for this and gases the Hulk into turning back to Banner. Doom wants to start a war with a neighboring country, but doesn't want Valeria upset. He programs Banner to turn into the Hulk and leap towards his enemy with the gamma bomb strapped to his back. But when the plan goes awry Valeria reveals that she helped Bruce reprogram himself to take the bomb to a deserted area. Doom orders Valeria be arrested for treason. Hulk bursts through the wall to save Valeria. Doom gets Hulk to chase him out of the castle. During the battle a piece of debris starts falling on Valeria. Doom runs to protect her with his force field (and is disgusted with himself). Hulk attacks Doom. He gets Doom in a bearhug. Doom can't escape and Hulk tells Doom to surrender. Doom refuses. Hulk says that he has beaten Doom, and everybody knows it. Hulk lets Doom g and Valeria runs to Doom's side. It reminds Hulk of Betty helping Samson and Hulk leaves dejected.
Avengers #100- Hulk hears voices in his head calling him to England. Hulk sees the Avengers there and decides maybe he should leave since Hulk knows he has no friends. Hulk suddenly remembers he was once an Avenger so he decides to at least listen to why he has been called. Black Knights shows the Avengers that Ares, Greek god of war, has his ebony blade, and that he has teamed with the Enchantress. Ares seeks to extinguish the Promethean Flame. Ares turns the flame to crystal, which turns all the Greek Gods into crystal. All save Hercules because he is half-human. Ares then has his followers throw Hercules from Olympus to Greece. When Herc landed he had lost his memory. Ares wants to conquer Asgard and Earth as well. The Avengers are split up between the two places. Hulk wants to go to Olympia because he is sick of Earth. Hulk, Thor, Vision, Iron Man, and Black Knight go to Olympus. The other eight remain on Earth. Thor and Vision find Hercules, memory restored, held prisoner by Enchantress. Hulk wanders around and listens to the satyr's pan flute. Demons of Olympus attack Hulk. Hulk…well…smashes. Thor helps Black Knight get his sword back. Thor finds Hulk sitting on demons and listening to music. Hulk also is holding Enchantress. Hulk returns to Earth.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #145- Hulk is still on his way home from Latveria. Hulk remembers he has to swim home and jumps in the ocean. A Russian Destroyer attacks the Hulk. Hulk grabs their propeller and forces the Russian ship to the ocean floor causing it to explode. Hulk finally sees some land and comes out of the water. Hulk has swum to the Sahara Desert. Hulk thinks he is saving a girl, but in reality he is ruining the movie shot she was starring in. Hulk decides he'd like to rest. Ross finally gets approval for Project Greenskin, devoted solely to capturing the Hulk. The director of the movie tries to put Hulk in the movie. In costume Hulk transforms back into Banner. Bruce walks off the set. He returns later but only find statues. The statues are actually an ancient race of aliens. They put Bruce to sleep with a somna-ray. Bruce awakens in space. They scan Bruce's memory. The aliens do not have war, but rather a gladiator style match that determines the "war's" winner. The aliens go off to watch the match. Bruce hits the last alien with the somna-ray and takes the helmet to watch. Long ago the aliens planted a seed. Today the seed emerges from the ground a gigantic warrior named Colossus. The aliens other warrior resides above ground - the Sphinx. Bruce fears what the battle would do to the Earth so he uses the helmet to nullify the Sphinx's life force, leaving it forever a statue. The aliens come back and find Banner turning into Hulk. They teleport Hulk back to Earth. The aliens go to find another arena leaving Hulk to deal with Colossus. Colossus is waiting for word from "the masters", but since they left Colossus figures Hulk is his adversary. Hulk rips off Colossus' arm, then a leg. Then Hulk rips Colossus in half. Colossus (in fine Holy Grail fashion) keeps trying to fight. Hulk knocks his head off. The pieces of Colossus keep trying to fight so Hulk smashes open the ground and puts all the pieces inside. Hulk walks away.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #147- second feature- While walking through the desert Hulk sees a mirage. He sees a town where the people don't run from him. He meets a girl who will sit and talk to him. The vision starts to fade and Hulk freaks out. He hits the ground so hard it measures on the Richter scale.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #146- Hulk is still walking in the desert. A sandstorm whips around Hulk. Hulk sees a girl's face and thinks of Betty. Hulk follows her. The girl shoots Hulk. The girl belongs to the army of Israel. Hulk doesn't want to fight with girls, but when they start shooting Hulk destroys their tanks. Hulk sees a plane and jumps on it so he can go home. The pilot radios ahead to tell the army. Leader uses robotic doubles to take over Gamma Base. He also has doubles of Nixon and Agnew, and plans to replace them the next day when they visit.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #147- Hulk leaps off the plane. The Ross android orders a sonic attack on Hulk. Samson tells Betty to get inside. Hulk freaks and bursts through the wall. He shreds the Ross android. Samson said he suspected it, but was waiting for Hulk's help. Samson and Hulk combine to fight Leader's humanoids. The humanoids combine to become a giant humanoid that acts as the Leader. The humanoid blasts Hulk with gamma rays. Samson steps in front of the ray to protect Hulk. The feedback causes an explosion near the Leader and disables the ray. Samson collapses. Hulk defeats the humanoid and leaps off alone. Samson's gamma was reversed saving the Hulk from the gamma rays.
Shadows and Light #3- Bruce is in the old cave he used to detain in. An earthquake forces Banner to hide inside the old prison. Collapsed rocks force shut the door. Bruce tries to stay calm in order to suffocate. He decides not to let it end this way and hulks out. Hulk still can't get through the door and decides to go through the wall instead. Hulk starts to tire from the thin air until he notices that water is getting through. Hulk destroys the wall, but must first float to the surface before he can breathe. Hulk tells Banner to remember that Hulk always wins.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #148- Peter Corbeau, inventor of Starcore One, comes to Project Greenskin's base with a cure for Bruce Banner. Ross' jets buzz by the Hulk. They shoot him in the back with sedative tipped missiles. Hulk is out cold. Jarella is fighting a war against Visis. She wishes to find Bruce Banner. Corbeau cures Bruce Banner, but the cure causes a solar flare. Bruce immediately volunteers to become the Hulk again. Jarella's wizards send Jarella to Earth. Visis sends Finlan the assassin after her. While they investigate the effects of Corbeau's cure Bruce goes to hang out at Corbeau's beach house. Jarella appears before Bruce on the beach. Talbot brings Banner and Jarella back. Corbeau has found that Banner's cure coupled with the exact timing of Jarella coming to Earth is causing the sun to go nova. Corbeau arranges for a duplicate of Jarella to be returned to K'ai so that Jarella can remain and the sun won't go nova. Finlan attacks. The soldiers are no match for Finlan. Jarella runs one way, and Bruce runs and retransforms himself into the Hulk (the guy just can't help himself). Hulk finds Jarella, but Finlan shoots some machinery causing it to explode. Hulk thinks Finlan killed Jarella in the blast and he murders Finlan in retribution. Turns out it was only the duplicate, but now with the duplicate destroyed Jarella has to be shipped back. Hulk isn't too keen on that and has to be tranquilized.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #149- Th Hulk sits docile with a medpac manacle that keeps injecting him with tranquilizers, but he doesn't transform back into Banner. The Inheritor crash lands back on Earth. He doesn't remember much just that he knows he will inherit the Earth. Hulk has freed himself from his manacle, and goes to leave. Hulk rips through a wall, but is gassed for his trouble. Hulk collapses and transforms back to Banner. Ross approaches Banner about teaming with the scientists working towards a cure. The Inheritor kills two humans because they delay his inheritance. Banner I now wearing sensors that will immediately detect if he is turning into the Hulk so his co-workers can run for it. Inheritor destroys a radiation truck. The radiation helps him remember his kind has seen the passing of dinosaurs, other species, and that it will outlast humans. Bu Inheritor needs more radiation and figures to bring about man's end early. Inheritor attacks Project Greenskin. He sees Banner and opens more radiation. Now he remembers High Evolutionary banishing him. Inheritor will unevolve with out radiation. Bruce hulks out. Hulk and Inheritor until Hulk hurls him far below. Inheritor needed more radiation, but since he didn't get it he turned back into a cockroach. Hulk flicks the cockroach away.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #150- Hulk fights against the soldiers that are only come for him now. They try to gas Hulk, but Hulk grabs one of their masks and leaps out. Hulk sits up on a big rock and decides he wants to find Jarella. The army finds Hulk the next day and the fighting resumes until they receive an order to halt until there is an investigation on Project Greenskin. Roger Dutton is investigating Morton Clegstead's Project Greenskin. Hulk takes off after a girl with green hair who is being harassed by some bikers. Hulk comes to her rescue thinking her Jarella. The girl escaped the other bikers herself since she is really Polaris. Havok blasts one more coming at her. After talking Lorna runs from Havok upset. Hulk interprets Havok as a threat to her. Hulk discovers it isn't Jarella, but Polaris. Havok comes to save Polaris. Hulk leaps at him, but Havok blasts him. Hulk gets up, and Havok is stunned. Hulk throws him into a rock. Hulk goes to grab Havok's hands, but is blasted again. Havok realizes they might kill each other so he suggests they quit. This enrages Hulk, and he picks up a giant section of mountain that Polaris happens to be standing on. Havok uses his power like never before. He shoots a thin beam into Hulk's head. Havok tells Hulk that it will stop when he puts the rock down gently. Hulk does and Havok uses his power to counteract the effects of gravity lowering Lorna. They leave together, and Hulk sleeps and transforms into Banner. Betty and Talbot find Bruce. Betty cradles Bruce and Bruce whispers, "Jarella…my love". Betty starts crying and Glen tells her that Banner will have to explain it to her.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #151- Bruce tells Betty about Jarella and she has Glen take her away in the Jeep. As Betty flees Bruce gets angry about he ruins everyone's lives. He hulks out again. Hulk leaps after the Jeep. He silently approaches and finds Betty kissing Glen Talbot. Hulk turns and walks away. Ross testifies in the Project Greenskin investigations. He says hulk escaped because he allowed Banner to participate scientifically in the process of curing himself. Clegstead's true motivation for establishing Project Greenskin was to allow his doctor, Dr. Lathrop, to sneak a sample of the Hulk's blood. Clegstead is dying of cancer and he thinks the Hulk's blood might act as a type of intense radiation therapy. Clegstead is injected. Bruce reads a paper on a train headed to Washington. Hulk sees an ad for an appearance by Hank Pym, Ant-Man. Bruce decides that he should ask Pym to shrink him so he can find Jarella's sub-atomic world. The appearance was cancelled due to a thunderstorm. That and a rude janitor cause Bruce to hulk out. Hulk fights the police. Clegstead is feeling so strong he thinks he should go appear at the scene. Dutton confronts Clegstead, but Clegstead smacks him aside. Clegstead's car arrives, but the Crawling Unknown emerges. The Unknown burns Hulk like an acid. Hulk gets free, but the Unknown keeps coming for Hulk no matter what Hulk throws in its way. Hulk throws a metal lamppost into the blob. Lightning from the storm burns up the Unknown. Hulk walks away.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #152- Hulk is attacked by the army. They drop an electrified net on him. The increase the voltage until Hulk passes out. Ross phones Nixon. Nixon decides to get the ball rolling on prosecuting the Hulk. Ross is kind of taken back by that. Hulk turns into Banner. Ross has him fully sedated, and then loads him into a titanium truck. Matt Murdock is contacted to defend the Hulk. Bruce isn't really cooperating with Matt since he feels he should get the death penalty. Murdock demands that Banner stop receiving sedation since he can't even talk with his client. Bruce is given a stimulant. Banner wakes up and starts freaking out. The sedative doesn't come fast enough and Bruce hulks out. Matt Murdock stands face to face with the Hulk and convinces him that he is Hulk's friend. They shake hands. But when the plane lands Ross comes in and Hulk figures Murdock was lying. Hulk bursts through the plane as the Fantastic Four arrive.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #153- The Thing is first to try and stop the Hulk. Hulk grabs him by the arm and throws him. Daredevil shows up, but Hulk smacks him away. Spider-Man and Torch come in. Thing hits Hulk full force in the face. Hulk isn't impressed, "Hulk is through playing! Now Hulk will finish!" Daredevil lassos Hulk. Hulk takes the rope and uses it to smash daredevil into the side of the airplane. Reed hits Hulk with a nega-gamma gun. Hulk goes down like a bag of cement. Hulk is put in restraints and held inside Tony Stark's chamber designed for Project Greenskin. Hulk is rushed to trial. Murdock tries to get the triple titanium restraints taken off Hulk to no avail. Every objection goes against the defense. Hulk is being railroaded. All the super-heroes are dismissed as witnesses for Hulk. Murdock calls Hulk to the stand. Hulk talks and Murdock tries to use it as proof that the Hulk is mentally unfit to stand trial. It's denied so Murdock rests his case and hopes that perhaps he'll find more understanding in the appeals court. As the judge gets ready to close the day Mr. Fantastic barges in. Fantastic thinks he finally has a cure for Banner in the Nega-Gamma. The court decides to allow it. Reed shoots Hulk, but not to it's desired effect. Instead of turning into Banner the radiation causes Hulk to get stronger. Hulk breaks free of the triple titanium restraints. The power doesn't last because after Hulk leaps away he crashes in the south Bronx. Murdock says he suspects Reed probably purposely allowed Hulk to escape.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #154- Hulk seeks out Hank Pym because Banner wants Hank to make him small enough to reach Jarella's sub-atomic world. Hulk doesn't remember this and simply crashes through Pym's door and begins smashing bottles. Hulk dimly recalls Pym telling Banner that the serum he wants is inside his vault. Hulk rips the vault's door off. Hulk drinks something and as he passes out he sees what he thinks is Hank Pym, but is actually the Chameleon. An alarm notifies Pym that the vault has been broken into. He leaves Wasp with the car and flies to the lab as Ant-Man. He notices that the shrinking potion is gone. Hulk awakens to find he has shrunk, and is in the hold of the Chameleon. In addition to the Virus Nine, that Pym was trying to find ways to combat, Chameleon gives his employers, Hydra, a miniature Hulk. Hulk punches Chameleon. Hulk escapes Hydra. Hydra releases Virus Nine infected rats after Hulk. Betty goes off to find herself. Hulk is attacked by the rats. He falls out of the ventilation duct. Hulk beats the rat that fell with him. Hulk is crushed by a steel press. Ant-Man saves a knocked out Hulk from Hydra's blasters. Together Hulk and Pym trash the place. Pym talks with Hulk, but Hulk collapses and turns back to Banner. Banner shrinks more. Chameleon emerges and goes to step on Banner and Ant-Man. Ant-Man dodges and trips Chameleon causing him to hit his head. Ant-Man thinks Chameleon got Banner.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #155- Banner falls though sub-atomic worlds eventually landing him in a war torn version of New York City. A nazi plane causes Bruce to hulk out. Hulk destroys the plane by throwing a truck at it. Hulk finds nazi soldiers attacking him. Hulk fights back and notices that dead soldier turns into some sort of dead monster. Betty hears of Bruce's "death". Glen comes by to comfort Betty. Hulk saves a pilot from a German plane to get him to tell Hulk where he is. American soldiers hear Hulk is from off planet and go to talk to him. They tell Hulk of Shaper and how Shaper has back an alien fuhrer. Hulk figures that Shaper can help him find Jarella. He decides to join the Americans so that the war will be over and Shaper won't be busy. The fuhrer, Otto Kronsteig, dreams of a world where Germany won World War II. Kronsteig helped Doom build a reducing ray, and Doom tested it on Kronsteig. Shaper turns Kronsteig into Captain Axis to fight the Hulk. Axis and Hulk go at it tooth and nail until the bonehead Kronsteig says that never in his wildest dreams did he imagine such a challenge. With that Shaper's, the shaper of dreams, power fades from his body. Kronsteig's dream fades. Shaper tries to trap Hulk in his dreams, but Hulk knows that the people Shaper shows are not real. Hulk fights so hard Shaper decides to grant Hulk's dream of finding Jarella.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #156-
Now on K'ai Bruce is once again in control of the body
of the Hulk. Bruce finds K'ai leveled. A soldier flying on a
beast attacks Bruce. Hulk defeats them, and finds Torla,
Jarella's chief sorcerer. Torla tells Bruce that Visis has
Jarella. Jarella is forced to agree to be Visis' bride in order
to save her captured subjects. Betty and Glen get
engaged…okay. Bruce attacks a pack of warthos. Bruce defeats
them all to get the leader of the pack. As Jarella is about to
wed Visis Bruce crashes riding the leader warthos and leading the
group of followers. Bruce grabs Jarella and leaves Visis' castle.
Bruce is leading the army against Visis. Visis gets a new ally,
Krylar. Krylar unlike most of the world's inhabitants follows
technology, not science. Krylar has a machine that makes the
object of one's fears real. Bruce wants to wait until the
fighting ends before marrying Jarella. Visis' messanger offers to
have his champion fight Bruce to determine the outcome of the
war. Krylar shoots Bruce with his machine and a savage Hulk
emerges to fight our Banner Hulk. Savage Hulk is killing Banner
Hulk. Jarella gets the triad to reverse the process that put
Banner in control of Hulk's body so that he might stand a chance
fighting back. But as Baaner Hulk changes back to savage Hulk the
"worst fear" Hulk vanishes since savage Hulk doesn't
fear himself. Visis kills Krylar. Pym's serum starts to fade and
Hulk begins growing. Hulk returns to his normal size back on
Earth. Hulk cries a tear for the loss.
(Despite the fact that twice in the text it says #5 is weeks after 4 the Omegatron at the end of #4 says 89 hundredths. Omegatron says each hundredth is 2 minutes. I'm not sure how many weeks 178 minutes is, but I think this issue comes right after #4- Jake)
Incredible Hulk #157- Hulk mourns the loss of Jarella's world. Hulk gets sad thinking about it and decides to smash things instead. Jim Wilson stops Hulk from throwing cars on the Jersey Turnpike. Hiding with Jim Hulk turns into Bruce. Jim tells Bruce about Betty readying to marry Glen Talbot. Bruce nearly hulks out but remains calm. Bruce and Jim are then confronted by a Rhino being commanded by Leader's brain. Leader plans to bust up Betty's wedding again, but it isn't until he smacks Jim that he transforms. Hulk and Leader/Rhino go at it. Leader knocks Hulk down and baits him to follow him in a ship, which the Hulk does.
Incredible Hulk #158- Leader abandons Rhino's mind as Hulk pulls Rhino's body from the ship. Their ship somehow crosses into Counter-Earth. Hulk throws Rhino off, and falls too. Hulk hangs with Porcunius. High Evolutionary watches. Counter Earth's Banner works with T-Bolt and has a team reassembling the spacecraft. Porcunius helps Hulk get back to his ship where Hulk runs into Counter Earth Banner and his son. Rhino attacks Hulk from behind. The evil New Men want the ship, but Hulk needs it to go home. Leader sees his ship and mentally calls it back. Hulk knocks out Rhino and carries him aboard the ship before it leaves. Hulk decides he hates Banner less because he sees Bruce as a good father. "Can't hate man who is what father should be." Hulk changes back to Banner on the ride home. Betty and Glen get married.
