#10Hulk chronology continued...
Incredible Hulk #160- Hulk stops and realizes he has no idea where Niagara Falls is. He transforms back into Banner. Banner remembers he wanted to go to Betty in Niagara Falls, but not why. Bruce finds the traveler's checks he pinned in his pants. Bruce contacts a Spad McCraken to fly him to Buffalo. In the air Bruce realizes that Betty is honeymooning. He hulks out in the back of the plane. Hulk leaps from the plane onto Niagara Falls. Hulk sees Talbot and goes for him, but Tiger Shark attacks him first. Tiger Shark figures Hulk is there to get him for Namor. Glenn runs Betty up to Canada. Hulk goes up for breath after knocking some rocks towards Tiger Shark. Tiger Shark tries to knock Hulk back into the water. Hulk stop his fall, and catches Tiger Shark. Hulk then smashes him against the rock, and throws him back into the water. Hulk sees the army, but wants to find Betty so he takes off
Fantastic Four #133- Hulk seen reading a newspaper with the headline story about Thing vs. Thundra.
Incredible Hulk #161- Hulk runs into some Mounties. When they pull their guns Hulk smashes and leaves. Hulk notices his powers are beginning to ween. Hulk tracks what is weakening him. Hank McCoy, the Beast, meets Mimic. Mimic tells the story of his ever increasing and unstable powers. Mimic's powers began to kill those he mimiced. Hulk's powers set off Mimic. Hulk finally finds Mimic's cabin, and falls in. Beast runs interference before Hulk can smash Mimic. Mimic jumps up on Hulk and absorbs the radiation killing himself. Hulk is strong again when Mimic dies so he leaves.
Incredible Hulk #162- Hulk is lost in the Canadian woods. Hulk hears Paul Cartier calling for help, but cannot see him. A group looking for Paul attack Hulk thinking him the Wendigo. Hulk stops smashing when he meets Paul's sister. Hulk decides to help her find Paul. Hulk runs into the Wendigo. A man Hulk thinks is Paul asks for Hulk's help. The two fight until Wendigo knocks Hulk off a cliff. Wendigo then throws the man. Hulk catches him and takes him to a doctor. Hulk returns the man to find he is George Baptiste, Paul's friend. George tells them how Paul became the Wendigo. Hulk decides he still needs to help. Hulk fights Wendigo all the while getting encouragement inside his head from Paul. Hulk finally starts to get the upper hand when Hulk feels Paul completely transform into the monster. Hulk alows Wendigo to leave.
Incredible Hulk #163- The army hits Hulk in the back with a missile. Hulk knocks large craters of ice into the jet. Hulk tries to leave again. Hulk breaks through the ice when he lands. Hulk stumbles into the headquarters of the Gremlin. Gremlin had wanted to capture the Hulk anyway to test his new Super-Troopers. Gremlin releases five of them. Hulk holds his own until they release the gas. Hulk passes out. Gremlin captures Ross and his men. While held in place Hulk meets Gremlin, the son of the Gargoyle (from Hulk #1). Gremlin then runs tests on Hulk (a la Leader in tales to Astonish), and even partially gassed Hulk surpasses Gremlin's expectations. Gremlin overgasses Hulk and he transforms into Banner. In prison Banner sees Ross in jail. Ross writes him a note to Hulk out. At the next test Bruce punches the guard and hulks out. This time when the Super-Troopers use the gas Hulk covers his face and barrels through the wall. Hulk sees Ross in jail, but leaves him there cause he hates them. Betty reads in the paper that Hulk is alive, but that her father is captured.
Incredible Hulk #164- Hulk decides to go home. He knows it is across the "big water". He jumps from ice patch to ice patch. He misses one and must swim. Hulk smashes the US sub Trident. Captain Omen brings Hulk and the sub aboard his "infra-world". Hulk meets Captain Omen and his son Filius. Omen is staking claim on the underwater world thereby claiming ¾ of the Earth. When Omen suggests Hulk works for him Hulk freaks and starts smashing. Hulk escapes but is pained because of the depth. Omen sends out his workers on Toad-Whales. They net him, and bring him back. Hulk transforms back into Banner. The army introduced John D Armbuster to rescue Ross. Talbot decides to go. Bruce gets a tour from Omen. Omen smacks Banner when one of his workers touches him. Banner hulks out. Omen sends for the outside crew. Omen encases them within a dome, and ships them out to see. Hulk bursts through. Omen reasons with Hulk that he can't reach the surface. Omen gives Hulk a helmet provided he works for Omen.
Incredible Hulk #165- Filius messed up Omen's view screen. He then places a decoy to walk in Hulk's place. Filius then shows Hulk the Revolution. Filius' generation has never seen the surface, and they no longer wish to work for the strict Omen. Hulk says he will help. The revolution goes well until they reach Omen. Omen releases Aquon. Aquon actually holds his own against Hulk (Hulk is tired from working), but Hulk simply rips the floor out. The battle damages the ship further and the Infra-World takes on water. Filius blocks off the damaged area saving the ship, but dooming Hulk and Aquon. Omen fixes the leak and drains the room with Hulk and Aquon. Aquon is sucked out, but Hulk resists. Having won Filius takes the ship to the surface. Once on land the workers begin to explode. Their bodies evolved to withstand the ocean's pressure so now their blood pressure is so high it bursts through their body. Filius tries to get back to the ship, but Omen has sealed it to save the others. Hulk watches the workers and Filius die.
Incredible Hulk #166- Hulk swims to New York City. Hulk followed his sense of magic in Dr. Strange. Hulk sleeps on the waterfront and turns back into Banner. Some revolutionaries accidentally create Zzzax while attacking an electric plant. Hawkeye sees Zzzax and is on his way to the rescue to improve his reputation. A cop wakes Bruce to tell him to run from Zzzax. Hawkeye shows up. Bruce hulks out. Hawkeye tries to keep Hulk from fighting Zzzax. Hulk knocks down the building Hawkeye is on. Hulk fights back and forth with Zzzax. Hawkeye tries to drive hulk off again, and hits Zzzax with a foam arrow. Hulk attacks again. Zzzax throws Hawkeye into the water. Hawkeye shoots an arrow through Zzzax and back into the water. Zzzax dissolves but everyone thinks Hulk did it. Glenn Talbot is captured, but thought dead, while freeing Thunderbolt from Gremlin's capture.

Marvel Feature #11- Leader and Kurrgo picks Hulk and Thing, respectively, as their champions against each other. The winner claims the services of both. Leader sets a phony premise for Thing and simply brings Hulk in (always in the mood for a fight). Hulk hits Thing, and Thing hits back. Thing figures he has gotten stronger, and though he is right it is only because Kurrgo is cheating sending him cosmic radiation. The radiation doubles Thing's strength, but still the battle leans in the Hulk's favor. Thing finds the phony bomb, and realizes he has been had. They are sucked aboard the ship, and Thing realizes his strength was boosted. Leader declares himself the winner. I'm not sure why the two thought their prizes would just turn themselves over, but Thing and Hulk wreck the ship and jump out. The ship explodes, but Hulk is already leaping away.
Incredible Hulk #170- Banner transforms into Hulk. Hulk not only survives the eight mile drop, but manages to keep Betty unharmed. When it rains Hulk takes Betty to a cave. Betty tries to run when hulk goes out for food, but runs into a giant monster. Hulk beats on the monster till it runs. Hulk takes the injured Betty back to the cave. Hulk makes a fire. Hulk goes out to get food. He thinks about killing a deer, but stand becoming a hunter so he brings back fruit. Hulk uses medicinal herbs on Betty's cuts. Betty awakens thinking it all a dream; she quickly passes out again. When Betty recovers Hulk takes her out to look around. Hulk applies crushed berries to Betty's skin like make-up. Hulk throws a monster out of the pool of water, but Betty doesn't want to swim. She sees a plane, Hulk gives her a dress he finds, but Betty yells at him. When hulk falls asleep Betty tries to run again, but runs into three giant monsters. They take her to the volcano. Hulk saves her again. He knocks all six giants down with a shockwave. Hulk sees a large helicopter and gets Betty to it. Hulk hides under it to get home.
Incredible Hulk #172- Armbuster gases the Hulk and dumps him into a room designed to hold "a hundred Hulks". Hulk wakes up because the gas was in storage and lost some potency. Hulk also started developing immunity to it. Hulk begins pounding and now they believe it will take the Hulk two days to bust out. Peter Courbeau, who was there to try and work on the Hulk problem, decided they should send Hulk to limbo and work on a cure. They blast Hulk, but in his place stands the Juggernaut. Juggernaut starts pounding on the walls. They shoot the machine again, but after the feedback clears both Juggernaut and the Hulk stand in the room. Together they break through the wall in moments. They also run through the army like soft butter. Hulk leaves but runs into Juggernaut terrorizing a family, and Hulk decides to stand up for them. Hulk knocks Juggernaut back, but Cain comes back and knocks Hulk over a giant rock. Cain plows through the rock and barrels into Hulk. Hulk knocks Juggernaut down again, and then hits him airborne. The fight goes back and forth until Hulk grabs Cain's helmet. He swings him by the helmet until it pops off and Cain goes flying. Hulk decides the fight is over, but Juggernaut gets up to hit him from behind. Professor X, Cyclops, and Jean Grey who were out trying to recruit Havok and Polaris to the X-Men floor Cain with mental blasts.
Giant Size Defenders #1- Hulk, Strange, and Valkyrie scare away a drunk from Strange's house. Hulk gives his friends a hug. Hulk goes in to have some food. Clea takes Valkyrie into the Hulk's past to show him his nature. After they finish Hulk disappears as he eats a chicken leg. Clea does the same for Namor. Strange realizes too late that Clea is casting from the book of Vishanti. As Strange goes to stop her he disappears too. Hulk breaks out of the cage of his past into a completely empty setting. Hulk says he wanted to be alone, but not this alone. Strange manages to send Hulk to help Namor. After they defeat Namor's attackers they move into Strange's location. Namor destroys Strange's attacker as Hulk holds Strange. Now combined they teleport home.
Marvel Team Up #18- Professor Paxton Pentecost brings Blastaar back from a coma like state using gamma radiation. Hulk lands inside a construction zone. The wrecking ball guy freaks and hits Hulk with the wrecking ball. Hulk destroys the machine and everybody runs for it. Hulk hears a noise that sounds like a bunch of bees. He decides to find the cause of the noise and smash. Blastaar snuffs out Torch and sends him hurtling backward. Hulk catches him, but drops him when he realizes that it's the Torch. Torch sees Hulk's noise problem and tells Hulk to follow him to find who is responsible. Hulk smacks Blastaar. Somehow Blastaar is causing Hulk's headaches. Blastaar's powers are still intermingled with the gamma radiation and actually weakens Hulk. Torch blasts in front of Blastaar. While distracted Hulk wraps Blastaar up in an adamantium alloy that traps Blastaar. Hulk then hurls the adamantium ball into the Atlantic ocean. Hulk leaps away.
Incredible Hulk #173- Hulk fights with the army, but ducks out going into a manhole. Hulk makes his way onto a boat and falls asleep. While sleeping Hulk turns into Banner. Bruce meets Ted, Ralph Robert's brother. The crew finds them below. Ralph recognizes Bruce Banner. Ralph, who was formerly the Cobalt Man, tells Bruce and Ted that he plans to ride into the path of an H-bomb test. Ted tries to save Ralph, but Bruce tackles him and shields him with his already radiation soaked body. Ralph turns blue, and reveals that this was what he wanted all along. Ralph runs off and gets into the Cobalt Man suit. Cobalt Man picks up two of the crew to kill them. Hulk clips his knee. Cobalt Man throws Hulk. Hulk hits Cobalt Man with one of the ship's smokestack. They fight until Hulk notices that being near Cobalt Man makes him feel weaker. When he sees his skin turning pink Hulk throws Cobalt Man through the bottom of the ship. Hulk transforms into Banner as the ship starts sinking.
Incredible Hulk #174- Cobalt Man comes back and takes Banner up to one of the lifeboats. An US army chopper rescues the people from the boat and takes them to Sydney, Australia. Ralph Roberts was told he would die from his radiation work. To show the world the error of their ways Roberts decided to destroy a city as Cobalt Man. The city? Sydney, Australia of course. Banner awakes in the hospital to see Betty, who runs from the room. Once Banner realizes the threat of Cobalt Man still exists he starts to get nuts. The tranquilize him. Ted gets Betty to sneak Bruce the cure so that Hulk can stop Cobalt Man. Betty takes Bruce up to the roof. To get Bruce to transform Betty pushes Bruce off the roof! Hulk lands. Hulk finds Cobalt Man. Cobalt Man is stronger than before, but still hulk comes back. Cobalt Man grabs Hulk and decides to drag him into the vacuum. Cobalt Man reaches his critical mass while outside earth's atmosphere. Hulk is sent spiraling.
Incredible Hulk #175- Hulk catches on fire as he re-enters Earth's atmosphere. Hulk is going to hit the Inhuman's hidden home in the Himalayans. Black Bolt flies up to knock the Hulk off his trajectory. Hulk is knocked into a mountain. Hulk cannot get out and passes out. The Inhumans, who came to see if the Hulk was okay, see Bruce Banner emerge from the hole Hulk created. They take Banner to the Great Refuge. They give him clothes. They show him the second Earth that is orbiting the sun on the other side of the sun. The Inhumans decide they should go there to see if maybe they might live more peacefully there. Bruce thinks that maybe he should go too. A group of Inhumans attack Bruce because is human. Bruce hulks out and beats on the Inhumans. Quicksilver tries to distract him, but Hulk backhands him. Gorgon stomps the ground knocking Hulk into Triton. Hulk throws him off. Karnak hits a spot in the street that causes Hulk to fall into the street. Hulk breaks out. Black Bolt arrives to stop Hulk. Black Bolt hits Hulk with an electro-blast. Hulk grabs Black Bolt's arm, but Black Bolt waves off the other Inhumans. Hulk rams Black Bolt. Black Bolt whispers. Buildings fall. Black Bolt faints, but only right before Hulk passes out. Black Bolt orders the Inhumans to load Hulk on their ship and launch him away from the Great Refuge.
Incredible Hulk #176- In Hulk's rampage inside the ship Hulk activates the controls that would take the ship to Counter Earth. Glenn Talbot is allowed to think he escapes his prison. Hulk's ship lands and he is rescued. In the hospital Banner is questioned about whether or not he knows Warlock. Bruce freaks when he realizes he is back on Counter Earth. The Man-Beast is the president of the United States on this Earth. He plans to use his power to cause a war so that he might take over, but also to punish the High Evolutionary who exiled him. Man-Beast and his followers appear human to others. Man-Beast sends his people to deal with the Hulk. They try to fight the Hulk, but didn't listen to Man-Beast's warnings about Hulk's power. Once they realize they can't take him they slip a helmet on him that gasses him unconscious. High Evolutionary Recorder frees Adam Warlock.
Incredible Hulk #177- Man-Beast hears of Warlock's escape. He decides to use the Hulk against him. Man-Beast puts a implant in Banner's neck (besides Man-Beast has been known to control minds). To activate the implant they use a sonic probe. This causes Bruce to hulk out and leave. In the tunnels Hulk runs into this friend Porcupinus. Hulk hangs with them. Hulk meets Warlock and decides that he likes him. Warlock shows Hulk around and Hulk agrees that the revolution should fight and not run. Hulk remains with Warlock for a week until Man-Beast shoots another sonic probe to the implant. Hulk is supposed to be paralyzed, but instead he freaks out. Warlock senses that Hulk isn't responsible, but before Warlock can help Hulk Man-Beast arrives. He freezes them both with a ray. Warlock fights Man-Beast while Hulk fights the other bad New-Men. Hulk realizes Warlock is his friend. While charging Man-Beast Hulk breaks the Micro-Transmitter. Man-Beast activates another machine that transforms Hulk into Banner. Warlock is captured and sentenced to die. Man-Beast enters the president's body and carries out the ded of executing Warlock. Warlock is inside a cocoon "at life's end".
Incredible Hulk #178- Seeing Warlock killed causes Bruce to Hulk out. Hulk handles both the police and Man-Beast's followers. Hulk grabs the cocoon containing Warlock thinking maybe he isn't dead after all. Hulk leaps away. With Warlock out of the way Man-Beast is set to rule Counter Earth, and then perhaps First Earth as well. Hulk tries to talk Warlock out of the cocoon, but thinks maybe Warlock is dead when he doesn't come out. Porcupinus catches up with Hulk. The others carry Warlock's cocoon to where it will be interred. Hulk carries Warlock's cocoon into the cave. He places it where a beam of sunlight strikes it. Man-Beast, as himself, declares war. The general won't follow him, however and contacted the revolution. Hulk takes the full force of Man-Beast's hate power. Hulk throws Man-Beast. Man-Beast causes the roof to collapse on Hulk. Hulk has had enough. He begins pounding on Man-Beast. Man-Beast's helpers run. Warlock, now reborn. Stops Hulk from killing Man-Beast. Warlock tranforms him back into a wolf. Warlock leaves and Hulk ponders Warlock's advice to help others.
Incredible Hulk #179- Hulk is sent back to Earth, but his rocket is shot down. Hulk lands and sleeps. He turns back into Bruce. The Brickfords from Lucifer Falls finds Bruce and takes him in. When Lincoln, the Missing Link from Incredible Hulk 105 & 106, comes in Bruce only knows that he has seen Link before. Bruce goes to work in the mines with Link and Clay Brickford. All is good until one of the Brickford children collapse from stomach pain. Bruce discovers that Lincoln is emitting radiation. Betty is reunited with Glenn Talbot. Bruce tries to talk to Link about leaving the Brickfords and getting treatment. Linc brushes past Bruce and accidentally pushes him down a mine shaft. Bruce hulks out. He jumps up to fight Link. Link recognizes Hulk and feels he must defend his family. The two take turns smashing each other. But the damage they cause collapses the mine's support beams. They fall. Link sees in the dark that Bruce was right and that he is glowing radiation. Link gets upset that he was poisoning the kids. Link explodes. The townspeople come and help dig Link out- which needless to say confuses Hulk.
Giant Size Super-Stars #1-
Hulk leaps by and knocks a copter out of the sky.
Something was calling to Hulk. Hulk makes it into the city, but
transforms back into Banner shortly after that. Banner wants to
go see Reed Richards. Banner makes it in the Baxter Building and
collapses onto the Thing. Thing and Bruce discuss hoping for
cures. When Thing mentions a psi-amplifier Bruce gets excited
because he has an idea. Bruce hooks himself up to the Thing.
Banner's idea is that his gamma and the Thing's cosmic attributes
will cancel each other out. Unfortunately Bruce hulks out. Thing
is now in Hulk's body, and Hulk in Thing's. Hulk is confused but
Hulk has seen his green adversary in his dreams. He wants to
smash him. Reed and Torch return to see Thing's body beating
Hulk's. "Thing" throws "Hulk" off the roof.
"Hulk" stops his fall, but is promptly attacked by
Thundra. When "Hulk" hits "Thing" back
"Thing" is confused how Ugly Man got so strong. The two
battle all over. By sheer ferocity "Thing" seems to be
winning the fight until a train comes at them. "Thing"
tries to stop it, but Thundra comes into help because Thing can't
stop a train himself. "Thing" hits the ground knocking
Thundra over and out. The fight actually winds up in a boxing
ring. "Thing" is still beating "Hulk" down
when the Torch gets too close and "Thing" knocks him
out. "Hulk" actually manages to mount a little
offensive before Reed sedates the Hulk's body and he passes out
and transforms back into Banner.
Marvel Comics Presents #59-
Incredible Hulk #180- Hulk lands crushing a fence. The fence's owner yells at Hulk, Hulk pushes him down and decides to go look for a place with no people. Hulk wanders into Canada.
Wolverine #144-flashback- Hulk seen on Leader's monitors while Leader is holding Hercules captive.
Incredible Hulk #180- The Canadian government detects Hulk presence and dispatches Weapon X. Hulk fights with a pack of wild wolves. The wolves run. Hulk hears someone calling him again. The voice tells Hulk to come. Hulk says he will find the voice to smash it. Marie, from Hulk #162, lures Hulk to her. She has studied the dark arts since her brother Paul became the Wendigo. She intends to lift the curse and place it on the Hulk. George tries to talk her out of it, but she won't listen. The Hulk arrives and Marie tells Hulk she needs his help again. She feeds him drugged food. The food puts Hulk to sleep. With the Hulk in position, Marie summons the Wendigo. Hulk recovers from his drugging before anticipated and gets up. Hulk sees Wendigo come in. Hulk jumps and knocks Wendigo out of the house. Hulk throws a giant rock and kicks Wendigo. Wendigo hits Hulk with a tree. Hulk and Wendigo hit head on. The two battle until Wolverine interrupts.
Incredible Hulk #181- Wolverine jumps on Hulk. He then jumps off Hulk and kicks Wendigo. Hulk decides that "little man is Hulk's friend" since he fights Hulk's enemies. Wolverine doesn't get why Hulk thinks they're buddies, but he uses Hulk. Wolvie distracts Wendigo and Hulk picks him up and throws him into some trees. Wolverine then brings the full force of his claws down on the Wendigo. With Wendigo down Wolverine attacks Hulk. Marie and George take Wendigo and do his half of the transfer. Hulk and Wolverine battle until Marie performs a spell of subjugation. Wolvie and Hulk pass out, and Hulk transforms back into Banner. George refuses to help Marie anymore and leaves. Marie tries to move Banner but awakens him and retriggers the change. Hulk doesn't like being tricked. Wolverine continues his battle with Hulk while Marie goes back to the cave. When Marie screams Wolverine looks over and hulk knocks him out with a punch. George took the curse for Paul because he loved Marie. Hulk tries to comfort the crying Marie.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #183- Hulk is standing on some railroad tracks when a train starts coming towards him. The train can't brake in time, but Hulk stops it with one punch. When the train starts to fall off the bridge its on Hulk picks up the train and puts it back on the tracks. Hulk leaps off, but lands in the hated water. Hulk swims to Chicago. Hulk unsure of what to do goes to sleep. Hulk changes into Banner. Banner awakens and finds he has no money inside his pants. Banner grabs a paper and finds a janitor's job at the Soul-Star Research Center. The overalls are conveniently purple. Banner happens upon Stan Landers, Mark Revel, and Alexandria Knox. As partners in Soul-Star Research Center the trio is trying to invent a machine that will pull electronic impulses from space. They believe that all thought in existence is in space, and by using their machine they'll know all the thoughts throughtout history. Oh by the way Stan and Mark love Alexandria, but Alexandria only loves Stan. Banner gives the trio a tip, and they learn he is Bruce Banner. The three know Banner's scientific rep, but not his being the Hulk. They turn on the machine and it overloads as it pulls back an electrical thinking being, Zzzax. Zzzax goes to feed on Alexandria, but Stan saves her putting her helmet on. Unfortunately Stan doesn't save himself, and Zzzax eats him. Bruce hulks out. Hulk jumps and hits Zzzax. Zzzax knocks him down. Zzzax doesn't want to hurt Alexandria because he loves her. Zzzax absorbed Stan's thoughts when he killed him. Zzzax grabs Alexandria and heads up the 100 story John Hancock Center. Hulk goes to save her. Police try to stop him, but Hulk knocks them aside. Hulk tells Zzzax to give back girl. When Zzzax refuses the fight starts. The two fight until Mark arrives in a helicopter. He shoots a cord through Zzzax and gets a lightning bolt to strike it. Zzzax disappears. Hulk catches ark, and Alexandria and Mark are in love. Hulk walks off alone.
Giant Size Defenders #2- Hulk is on his way home from fighting Magneto when the police attack him. Hulk throws a squad car. The National Guard arrives and tries to fight Hulk with a new Mechanoid. Hulk destroys it. Hulk hits the ground as causes a shockwave. Hulk leaps away. Hulk is walking down an alley when he is befriended by a little girl. The girl says he wants to help Hulk. She takes Hulk to a door. Inside they walk down endless flights of stairs. At the bottom the girl turns into the demon Laurox the Lecherous. Laurox creates six ten-foot tall Bruce Banners. The Bruces begin beating on Hulk. The other Defenders watch through a crystal ball with a spirit who is doing this to Hulk to blackmail the Defenders into working for him. The spirit leaves them to think it over. They look for the doorway in the vision, but when they fail Strange decides to contact Daimon Hellstrom. Strange recruits him, and teleports him to his sanctum. Hellstrom and Strange mystically reveal the stairwell. Inside the Defenders split up to search. Each is subjected to torment because…it's hell. Asmodeus watches them struggle. They overcome their trials and find Hulk. Once united the five are brought before Asmodeus. He wants to give Satannish their five souls in exchange for his own. Hellstrom is unaffected by hell-type powers, and at midnight the deal with Satannish ended and a hand reaches up and grabs him.
Code of Honor #1-
Marvel Team Up #27- The Hulk is leaping away from Strange and Nighthawk and is hit with a car by the Chameleon. Chameleon was dressed as Spider-Man and tried to break into prison. Chameleon slips on his Rick Jones mask. Hulk is happy to see Rick. "Rick" asks his friend Hulk to break his other friend Joe Cord out of prison. Hulk bursts through the wall. Peter Parker, investigating why "Spider-Man" earlier attempted a break in, changes into Spider-Man. Spidey keeps trying to stop Hulk, but Hulk keeps swatting him away. Hulk walks through the halls with a picture of Joe Cord that Chameleon gave him. Joe isn't real crazy about the Hulk looking for him. Spider-Man shows again. Hulk rips the door off Joe's cell, and throws it into Spidey's ribs. Hulk grabs Joe and leaps out. Hulk takes Joe to "Rick". Spider-Man arrives and webs the Rick mask off Chameleon. Chameleon pulls a gun, but Hulk yanks it. Hulk starts shaking Chameleon. The police arrive and Chameleon jumps in a car. Chameleon mows down a cop. He crashes and a policeman goes to shoot him. Joe jumps in front and takes the bullet for Chameleon. Hulk hears over the police radio that Strange and Nighthawk are fighting the Wrecking Crew. Hulk asks Spider-Man how to get there. Hulk leaps away.
Defenders #20- behind the scenes- Strange thinks to himself that he was unable to locate Hulk.
Giant-Size Defenders #3- Hulk is one of six heroes (with Strange, Namor, Valkyrie, Nighthawk, and Daredevil) who fight for Grandmaster in a game to save Earth. Grandmaster is playing against Prime Mover, a robot created by Doctor Doom, for the power to enslave Earth. Since Grandmaster doesn't care for Earth, and wouldn't enslave it anyway, the heroes fight for his side. Grandmaster briefs his pawns on the rules of the game. Three sets of two for each side and their opponents will not be from Earth. The score is one to one when Hulk is teamed with Dr. Strange. Hulk has to fight Grott the Man-Slayer. Grott barely comes up to Hulk's knee, and Hulk doesn't want to fight. With a gesture Grott sends Hulk flying. Hulk gets up and leaps at Grott, but is knocked back again. Hulk tries to smash Grott with a rock, but the imp is unaffected. Grott buries Hulk under an immense amount of rock. Strange defeats Michael Korvac, and comes to see how the Hulk is. Grott revealed that he used all his power to defeat the Hulk, but as he talks Hulk climbs out of the rubble. With one finger Hulk flicks Grott defeating him. Grandmaster decides to keep earth for himself. Hulk and the others, save Daredevil, attack. They are all knocked out. Daredevil flips Grandmaster for the Earth, and knows using his keen senses that his side will win.
Defenders #21- In Westbury, Connecticut Hulk stands on a front lawn watching children play. Hulk is complimenting a little girl on her jump rope when her father comes out. The man slams into Hulk, but bounces off. Hulk gets mad and hits the ground. The shockwave destroys the man's house. The little girl yells and cries , hitting Hulk for destroying her house and hurting her daddy. Hulk apologizes and leaps away crying. Later Bruce Banner staggers out of an alley near Dr. Strange's house. Bruce makes it to his house and knocks, but then collapses. Nighthawk sees Trish Starr, whom he had been talking to until she fell asleep in some mad panic. He knocks her out and then notices that the whole town is acting this way. They start rioting, which is bad enough, but when the Hulk joins in it get that much worse. Valkyrie tries to talk to Hulk, but Hulk just smacks her. The riot is caused by Chondu the Mystic to be a distraction so that Dr. Nagan, guy's head on an ape's body, can steal from diamond row. Once he finishes the effects wear off. Everybody goes home, and Hulk apologizes to Valkyrie.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #184- Two soldiers driving a chemical truck discover Hulk trying to bum a ride. The quick witted soldiers decide the best way to protect the chemicals is to shoot Hulk. Just to annoy them Hulk destroys the truck, and is bathed in the chemicals. Hulk walks off not knowing he is being followed by a ship.
Ghost Rider vol2 #11- Fear-Monger blasts Hulk in the back with a flame. When Hulk looks to see who did it "Ghost Rider" is making his way towards him. Ghost Rider hurts Hulk with his flame, and then disappears. Fear-Monger implants Ghost Rider's location in Hulk's head as Hulk leaps off to smash Skull-Face. Hulk lands as Ghost Rider is in a race. When Hulk lands from his leap he knocks Douglas Forester off his bike, which goes right into Hulk. Hulk thinks it's an attack and goes to smash, but Lemuel Driftwood rescues him. Ghost Rider brakes sand into Hulk's eyes. He blasts Hulk, but it has little effect. Hulk throws a rock at Rider. Rider blasts it apart, but he is still hit by a smaller piece he made. Nora and Terry zoom around out of Hulk's reach while Douglas and Lemuel help him up. Rider jumps back on his bike. Rider surrounds Hulk with a flame, and for some reason Hulk just stands there until there is no oxygen to breathe as it is all burned up. Hulk collapses.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #184- Hulk sits remarking about how he can never find peace. Hulk, for the first time ever, regards his shadow. Only his shadow doesn't betray him, and of course at that moment his shadow does. The shadow is an alien named Kaa. The chemicals Hulk was doused in allowed Kaa to take possession of Hulk's shadow. Hulk and Kaa fight from sunrise till sunset, and when all the lights go on from different directions Kaa disappears. Hulk lays down on the grass and falls asleep. Hulk changes into Banner. Banner hitches a ride to Hulkbuster Base. Bruce walks into a room with Ross, Betty, Talbot, and Armbuster. Armbuster shoots Banner.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #185- Banner sits tranquilized and chained (turns out Armbuster shot him with a tranquilizer, not a bullet). The president is coming and Armbuster didn't want to take any chances. Banner sits silently through Armbuster and Ross' explanations. When they leave Betty tries to explain her marriage to Glen. Bruce says his life is a shambles because of the Hulk. When Betty tells Bruce not to shut out his friends Bruce says that he has no friends. Bruce tries to apologize, but Betty had already left. As Ross and Talbot give the president a tour Armbuster finds his assistant dead, and the lab reports burned. Armbuster recalls how to reprint the results. Armbuster runs off after Talbot. The president sees Banner captured. Banner welcomes the "vice president" to the new monkey exhibit, and asks for a banana. Talbot goes to push the president over the ledge to Banner's cell below when Armbuster rushes in. Armbuster tackles Talbot over the ledge just as a bomb in Talbot's chest explodes. Betty drops to her knees. Bruce changes. Ross orders the top of Banner's cage closed. Hulk breaks through and Ross takes the president up in an elevator. Hulk tries to help Betty, but she never responds to his questions. Soldiers come out so Hulk grabs Betty and leaps outside. Ross emerges in a battlesuit and tells Hulk to put Betty down. Ross beats on Hulk, but of course Hulk gets stronger and gains the upper hand. Hulk gets ready to kill Ross when Betty screams out. Hulk looks up and Ross knocks out Hulk with a laser blast.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #186- Hulk floats in a containment unit. He is wearing a mask to breathe. Ross says the tank is kept at 250 degrees below zero to keep Hulk numb. Once again Betty blames Ross for Glenn's death. Captain Peter Kirkman, who works on Gamma Base, resumes his real identity as Kirkov Petrova, the Devastator. The autopsy on Armbuster is complete and they go to start Talbot's. Ross and Betty almost come to an understanding when the Devastator strikes. Despite the fact that he knows where Hulk is being kept the Devastator cracks the Hulk's prison, and the numbingly cold liquid begins to drain. Hulk breaks free. Hulk fights the Devastator. Devastator keeps blasting Hulk, but of course Hulk keeps getting stronger. Hulk reaches Devastator and crushes his gauntlets. The power build up causes Devastator's suit to explode. Hulk walks away, but collapses as he turns to Banner. Talbot's autopsy reveals that he was not the real Glenn Talbot.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #187- Banner and Ross look over the devastation of Gamma Base. They are picked up by S.H.I.E.L.D. Ross meets Clay Quartermain. Fury shows Ross and Banner where they suspect Talbot is. Ross tells Banner that he is not coming, Banner believes otherwise. He sneaks aboard the ship before they go to Bitterfrost. Gremlin fires two missiles as Quartermain flies. Clay jettisons the extra weapons where Banner is hiding in order to out maneuver the interceptor-drones. Bruce hulks out and lands as the Hulk. Clay and the others break into the base while Hulk just figures he will go there to find out where he is. Gremlin sees the Hulk outside and sounds the alert. The Hulk serves as a distraction for Ross to free Talbot from his cage. Talbot is really out of it. Hulk destroys the entire weapon shooting at him. Gremlin goes for his primary line of defense. He deploys his Super-Troopers, armored soldiers. The soldiers do well enough until Hulk reaches them. Super-Trooper Four uses an electro-stasis rifle to stun the Hulk. Hulk collapses. As Ross and the others keep trying to escape with Glenn, Glenn finally springs to action and, as Gregori Kronski, arrests them all in the name of his beloved master- The Gremlin.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #188- The Gremlin walks in the Hulk, who is held in an electro-stasis beam. Gremlin shows Ross that he has been completing his father's lifework his whole life, the Psi-Clone. The Psi-Clone allows duplication and control of the most powerful human mind. It was his machine that allowed Gremlin to manipulate Talbot. Gremlin says he'll use Ross in a similar manner. General Ross says he'll die before he helps Gremlin. Gremlin sends them into incarceration. Gremlin locks the Hulk into place. Gremlin says he learned his lesson last time, and that instead of physically restraining the Hulk he will brainwash him. Hulk resists the Psi-Clone as his mind is to simplistic. Gremlin decides to try to control Ross, but Quartermain mocks Gremlin into trying on the Hulk again. Quartermain tells Ross that S.H.I.E.L.D. is going to use Gremlin's satellite to destroy the base whether they are still there or not. Quartermain frees himself with a bomb under one of his fingernails, adapted from technology designed by the Gargoyle. Ross and Quartermain get the drop on Gremlin and Gregor in Talbot's body. Quartermain knocks out Gregor, and Ross frees Hulk to come with them. Gremlin's men show creating a stalemate. Gremlin releases Droog. Droog is a rhyming dinosaur type. Hulk fights Droog. Gremlin escapes, but fearing the info Gregor might give them Gremlin eliminates his mind from Talbot's body. Hulk tells the others to go and he will remain behind. S.HI.E.L.D. destroys Bitterfrost, and Ross wonders how he is going to tell Betty that the Hulk is "finally dead"…again.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #189- Hulk emerges from the ground after being shoved down by the explosion. Hulk decides to walk. Hulk hears singing and finds the singer to be a little girl. Hulk apologizes for disturbing the girl. Hulk meets Katrina. Hulk crashes through the ice, but the water is shallow. Hulk discovers Katrina is blind. Katrina's father shoots Hulk. Katrina stops the trouble. One of the men suggests Hulk might help them against the "Dark Ones". Hulk goes back to the village with them. Hulk sleeps at Katrina's grandfather's house. He is trying to cure Katrina's blindness. Hulk dreams of the original gamma bomb explosion. Hulk is awakened by the sounds of subterraneans. Hulk goes out and fights them. They run off, but Hulk follows them. The subterraneans pile on Hulk until the gas of their cave knocks him out. When Hulk wakes up he is the prisoner of the Mole Man. Mole Man tells Hulk that he stole Katrina's grandfather's cure for blindness. Hulk says to give him the cure back. When Mole Man refuses Hulk breaks out of his prison takes the syringe and leaves. Hulk is careful not to break the cure as he smashes his way out. Hulk collapses the cave. Hulk is greeted by the people. Hulk gives them the cure. Katrina sees Hulk for the first time. She tells him he is beautiful and kisses his cheek. Hulk leaves because he feels like a monster and not a man. Hulk cries.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #190- Hulk is fighting the Russian army as he walks. Hulk comes across a baby bear and picks him up. Hulk is petting the baby when the mother wallops Hulk. Hulk is going to smash her, but realizes it was only protecting its young. Hulk sees a rainbow, and wonders why the snow is melted around the rainbow. Glorian descends the rainbow, and convinces Hulk to come back up with him. Glorian drops Hulk off in the place he has always dreamed of. Hulk hears music and runs into Crackajack Jackson, who died in 182. Hulk needs some convincing, but goes with his old friend. Shaper of Worlds monitors Hulk. Shaper thanks Glorian for helping him realize his new goal in helping others. Shaper has infinite power, but no imagination. Hulk sits and eats beans with Crackajack. As Hulk sleeps one star gets closer to him. Crackajack takes Hulk to Jarella. Back on earth Betty sees Glenn as a vegatable. The Toads Men ambush Hulk's happiness. They take Crackajack and Jarella as slaves. Hulk isn't big on being a slave and fights back. The Toad Men hit Hulk with magnetroid guns. They make Hulk feel heavy, and he passes out on the ground. Hulk is carried aboard the ship, and put in restraints.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #191- Hulk is brought to King Torkon II on Toadworld. Torkon recognizes Hulk. He tells Hulk he will be his slaves or Torkon will have Hulk's friends killed. Torkon brings them before Queen Froja. He forces them to kneel. Torkon learns tyat Shaper made Hulk's world for him. Torkon wants to use Hulk against Shaper. Hulk breaks free of his bonds. Hulk starts kicking their rears until Torkon threatens Jarella. The toads fit Hulk with a Nulltron bomb and send him to Shaper on a rocket. When it lands Hulk walks until he sees the Shaper. Shaper doesn't get why Hulk is there. When the bomb goes off the toads capture Shaper and leave Hulk. Glorian arrives and takes Hulk to Toadworld. Glorian tries to make Torkon see that they don't need to force Shaper to help. Torkon shoots Glorian. Shaper can no longer hold his concentration and "Jarella" and Crackajack revert to slugs. Hulk doesn't get it and freaks. Hulk destroys Toad Tower. He defeats Torkon. Shaper stps Hulk and says he can give Hulk his dreams back. Hulk says he only wants a real paradise. Shaper transports Hulk back to Earth. He then goes leaving Toadworld to sputter and die.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #192- Angus MacTavish fishes Hulk out of the Loch. Hulk breaks his net getting out. Hulk says he is hungry, but doesn't care for the fish Angus offers. Angus takes Hulk home to eat beans. Angus' wife freaks, but lets Hulk in when Amgus says Hulk will help get rid of the monster. Hulk sleeps and turns back into Banner. Three men break into Angus' house to take him to Castle MacAwber. Bruce is taken as well. Bruce meets Black Jaimie MacAwber. MacAwber's castle is very technologically advanced. MacAwber doesn't want Angus killing the Loch Fear Beastie and along with it the meager income that the tourism affords the town. MacAwber mesmerizes Angus and Bruce, but Bruce hulks out from the panic. Hulk busts out of the castle. Angus escapes as well. He runs to his harpoon. Hulk goes after him. Doc samson needs Hulk to help Talbot. Hulk goes out on the boat with Angus. The monster destroys the boat and makes Hulk angry. As Hulk fights the monster MacAwber arrives. He knocks Angus off the monster, but Hulk stops him from pulling the dynamite harpoon out. When the dynamite explodes it bonds with the chemicals MacAwber brought to capture the beast and the beast and MacAwber are united as a giant statue. So the tourism lives on.
Thor #233- In San Francisco the Hulk is captured inside a mystical bubble by Loki so that he can fight Thor alone.
Giant Size Defenders #4- Kyle's car explodes as hr and Trish Starr start it up. Strange scrubs in as a consultant. After the surgery Strange sees Valkyrie trying to hold back Hulk, who just came through the wall. Strange calms Hulk down saying Bird-Nose is fine. Hulk takes Strange and Valkyrie and leaps from the hole. Strange figures he summoned Hulk while concentrating in surgery. Hank Pym watches the news and sees Trish Starr was injured. He figures it was Egghead. Egghead gets the boot from a flophouse. Strange convinces Hulk to wait outside with Aragon while he and Valkyrie talk to Nighthawk. While waiting Hulk gets into an argument with a cop. Strange has to calm him down. Strange tells Hulk the Squadron Sinister probably hurt Bird-Nose. Trish loses her arm. Pym finds out Egghead planted the bomb. Nighthawk asks Pym to stop the Defenders from going after the Squadron. Hulk bursts through the wall to the Squadron's hideout. Hulk smashed Hyperion while Strange deals with Whizzer. Dr. Spectrum grabs a gun that absorbs the energy off Hulk. Hulk turns into Banner. Hyperion bearhugs Valkyrie unconscious and Whizzer knocks out Strange. They awaken in a dungeon. Strange's astral form leads Pym to them. Pym turns Banner into the Hulk, and Hulk breaks the others out of their shackles. Dr. Spectrum grabs Nighthawk from the hospital with a giant light hand. Strange nullifies it, and Valkyrie catches him. Hulk pounces on Hyperion. Hulk claps his hands together deafening Hyperion and shattering buildings. The Defenders defeat Squadron Sinister. Trish dumps Kyle.
Defenders #22- Hulk is in Dr. Strange's house smiling at a baby that Valkyrie brought, along with the baby's mother, to get them out of their squalid conditions. The Sons of the Serpent set a fire in the woman's apartment building killing an old blind black man. The Defenders return to the building to get the baby's things and find it burned. The landlord shows accusing the tenants. A fight erupts and the Sons of the Serpent return. They go into their rhetoric about only white being allowed. This angers the Hulk who is green. Hulk hits the ground and knocks them over. The Defenders start beating the Sons so they run, but vow revenge.
Defenders #23- Hulk plays with the baby as Yellowjacket arrives with a defeated Son of the Serpent. He says their leader will speak on television at midnight. Valkyrie's host body Barbara's husband shows up upsetting Valkyrie. Hulk watches the announcement. The Serpent Supreme rants on television. Outside a firebomb is dropped. Yellowjacket takes Hulk with him. Yellowjacket has Hulk knock down a warehouse to barricade the fire in and stop it from spreading. Hulk sees the fire isn't stopping so he claps his hand together to create a great wind. Hulk's wind blows Yellowjacket to the Sons of the Serpent and twists his ankle. They knock him out. Strange, Nighthawk, and Valkyrie return from a dead end at trying to discover the secrets of the Sons of the Serpents. Once together with the Hulk the Sons strike with blasters. Nighthawk, Strange, and Valkyrie are knocked out. Hulk is angered. The Sons shoot him all together. Still Hulk is only angry. The Sons then shock Hulk with metal snakes. Hulk pulls them off angrier. The Sons blast him all together and for some reason the Hulk is affected. Hulk is knocked out. The Sons carry Strange, Nighthawk, and Valkyrie off, but have to leave Hulk, as he is too heavy. Hulk changes back to Banner after they leave.
Defenders #24- Bruce makes it back to Strange's house. He tells Clea to try and contact Silver Surfer, Daimon, Hellstrom, Namor, Daredevil, Power Man, and Hawkeye. Clea reaches Hellstrom and Daredevil before collapsing. Bruce calls Luke Cage. Yellowjacket shrinks and escapes his manacles. He can't free the others so he looks to escape and bring help. Bruce is with the others as Hellstrom tries to get inside the Son of the Serpent's mind, but Cage has no patience and threatens to beat it out of him. They're going to execute Valkyrie on television by burning her on an inverted cross. Daredevil is listening to Bruce as he hulks out. Hulk, Power Man, Daredevil, and Hellstrom go to save her. Hellstrom and Cage are sucked up into a hole in the sky. By sheer numbers the Sons knock out Daredevil. Lastly one of the serpents fire a flare type gun into Hulk's face blinding him.
Defenders #25- Hellstrom and Cage were directed by Clea to Strange. They free Nighthawk and Strange. Yellowjacket returns. Hellstrom finds the tunnel to the surface. By going through the tunnel they find an office. Nighthawk realizes he knows this place. The office belongs to his accountant. His money has been funding the Serpents. Hulk is swinging wildly at the Sons. Daredevil awakens and fights. Barbara's husband stops one of the Sons from starting the fire below Valkyrie. This prompts other citizens, even the racist ones, to help stop the Sons. Hulk smashes the ground in anger. The Sons of the Serpent retreat. Hulk gets his eyesight back. Nighthawk goes to get his accountant- a black man. Hulk wonders where Bird-Nose is, and just then he comes through the door with Pennysworth. Cage freaks when he finds out Pennysworth is black. Pennysworth gives up the base, and they all go over to defeat them. Nighthawk goes off to mope about being so irresponsible.
Giant Size Defenders #5- Hulk is being towed by Dr. Strange, who flies next to Valkyrie. They're tracking a temporal displacement vibration to be sure it isn't destructive. While Hulk and Valkyrie bail out a ship that sails too close to the disturbance Dr. Strange is pulled underwater by the source of the disturbance. It telepathically tells Strange that its race will go to any extreme to build an empire. Valkyrie pulls Strange from the water. He is babbling "Eelar". Hulk sees Eelar flying and knows it is him. Valkyrie hears Eelar say he is going to attack New York City. Eelar floods the Hudson Tunnel with dead fish (which seems to be his power). Hulk and Valkyrie keep the tunnel from collapsing by plugging the hole in the roof with a crunched up car. Eelar blasts Times Square from atop a building. Hulk pounces on Eelar knocking him to the ground below. Eelar electrically charges himself. Hulk punches him in the stomach, but hurts his hand on the electricity. Strange's spells do not affect Eelar's excessive electricity. The Guardians of the Galaxy arrive distracting the Defenders. Eelar gets away, but Hulk follows. Strange returns to where he first saw Eelar. He finds a helmet that both created Eelar, and brought the Guardians of the Galaxy to find it. Turns out Eelar is just an eel affected by the radiation from the helmet. It learned all it's speech from the Badoon helmet's propaganda. They revert Eelar to his true state, and the Guardians take the helmet back.
Defenders #26- The Guardians need to get back to their time because their presence is causing worldwide weather chaos. Hulk can't figure out how there are men of "tomorrow when it's still night". Nighthawk finds the Guardians' broken ship surrounded by the military, along with Martinex and a young Vance Astrovik. Strange teleports them all to the ship, and teleports them all away to have time to fix the ship. Vance Astro tells Vance Astrovik, and the others, about humanity's evolving and their eventual enslavement by the Badoon. Strange sends the boy home with his memory of the story wiped. With the ship fixed the Defenders get aboard. Strange teleports it both into space and into the future. The Defenders decide to go into the future and help.
Defenders #27- When Hulk, Valkyrie, Vance Astro, and
Yondu attempt to teleport to Earth they are intercepted by the
Badoon and re-routed. Val and Vance are transported to a swamp
where they are attacked. They win and are summoned by Starhawk so
that he can help Valkyrie. Hulk and Yondu are sent into a city of
drunks. Hulk and Yondu save a girl from being murdered, but Yondu
is slapped for their trouble. Robotic soldiers tell them to
freeze. Hulk smashes them all but one. The one was their mother
and she places Hulk and Yondu "in thrall". They are
brought before Goozot and sentenced to partake in "the
games". Strange enters the computer to search for their lost
friends, but the Badoon Elite Guard enters the ship Captain
America.
Defenders #28- The Badoon use Nighthawk to hold off the other Guardians. Starhawk takes them to the Sisterhood of the Badoon, who are not their enemies. The Badoon think Strange dead because he is out of his body. Hulk is being outfitted for the games. When the others leave one of Gazoot's consorts admires Hulk's muscles, and promises he will "feel her touch". They are taken to the Super-Death Sweepstakes show. Yondu is sent to be impaled by three robots. Yondu defeats them with his "chance for life bonus". Vance Astro, Valkyrie, and Starhawk impart the knowledge to the Sisterhood of Badoon that the Brotherhood of Badoon are conquering the universe. Strange's astral form teleports Astro and Valkyrie to Nighthawk and the other Guardians, who are about to be executed.
Defenders #29- Val and Astro free them. Strange's astral form sets out to help Hulk and Yondu. Before Hulk is sent on his "Death" Goozot says that he overheard his consort admiring "Mr. Green" and sends her with him. They are transported to an ice world. The girl is snagged by a tentacle of a giant robotic ant. Hulk smashes it and further turns his woman on. An army of robotic bugs emerge. Valkyrie, Nighthawk, Astro, Martinex, and Charlie-27 storm the Badoon headquarters. Hulk keeps smashing ants, and though not tired, he is sick of fighting. Hulk grabs the girl and jumps from the mountain. Hulk bounces off the "sky". The gameshow's host's face appears and tells Hulk that it's against the rules to leave. Hulk says he doesn't care about rules, and proceeds to destroy the mountain. When the carnage ends all the ants stand crushed beneath the rubble. Hulk and the girl are brought back to stand triumphant with Yondu. Hulk doesn't feel like celebrating and lifts the host by his shirt to knock his head off. Just then however Hulk and Yondu are teleported by Strange, and the fist intended to knock the host's head off connects instead with the face of a Badoon. Strange and Jack Norris teleport down and freeze the Badoon in a magic spell. Strange then teleports all over Earth freeing the Earthmen, allowing them to fight back. Starhawk appears and thanks Strange, but tells him it is time to go. They say their good-byes and Strange teleports the Defenders and Jack back to the right time.
Defenders #30- Three Maggia goons contact Strange saying they have Kyle Richmond. Strange invites them in to give them their ransom. Strange contacts Nighthawk mentally to find where he is. Strange then contacts Hulk to ask for his aid. Strange teleports with Valkyrie to Hulk who has arrived in Los Angeles. Strange peers through the window and hears that "Tapping Tommy" ::shudder:: planned to kill Kyle Richmond anyway. Hulk breaks through the wall. Tapping Tommy's robot comes out, and Hulk fights it. Hulk beats the robot as the others defeat the last of the goons. Then Tapping Tommy takes two little balls defeats the mighty Defenders with the gas inside them. They awaken manacled to some pyramid style set. Hulk breaks free as do the others. They defeat a bunch of robots. Hulk headbutts Tapping Tommy unconscious. Though I don't normally rate these books this one earns a one…out of a hundred.

Defenders #31- Nighthawk is captured by Dr. Nagan. Valkyrie still has problems with Barbara's husband Jack. Hulk is in Missouri on a game reserve. Hulk sees a deer and her fawn. Two hunters shoot the mother. Hulk emerges from the bushes really angry. The hunters shoot Hulk, but Hulk grabs one of their guns and wraps it around the hunter's neck. Hulk takes the other and skips him across a river and headlong into a tree on the other side. Hulk takes the fawn and goes to ask a "smart person" how to care of it. Nagan tells Nighthawk that he is going to put Chondu the Mystic's brain inside Nighthawk's body, and throw away Nighthawk's. An elf shoots two people in Las Vegas. Hulk is on his way to Strange's with "Bambi" when he sees the fake Nighthawk. Nighthawk goes with Hulk to "magician's house". Strange greets them, and when Valkyrie shows up with Jack "Nighthawk" paralyzes the team using magic. Nighthawk departs to tell Nagan. Strange walks right out of the "third rate sorcerer's" spell and frees the others. They go after Chondu. Chondu blasts Hulk and Val, but Strange teleports him to another dimension and follows him. Strange returns with a defeated Chondu, but finds him in the real body of Nighthawk.
Defenders #32- Hulk watches as Hellstrom learns that Nighthawk is not possessed. Hellstrom leaves and Hulk holds Nighthawk as Strange uses the Eye of Agamotto to reveal Chondu. Hulk watches as Strange tries to locate Nighthawk's mind. Nighthawk seems to be in a place very similar to the Crossroads, but with much fewer choices. Jack Norriss accompanies the Defenders inside Kyle Richmond's body. Strange rings the doorbell to Nagan's suburban hideout. They are let in, and knocked out by the newest member of the Headsmen, Ruby. An anti-gamma radiation explosion from Ruby's head even knocks out the Hulk.
Defenders #33- The fawn watches Strange's crystal ball with great anger. Chondu's thoughts occupy the fawn's body as Jack Norriss inhabits Kyle Richmond's body. Chondu is glad when Ruby floors the Defenders. Ruby carries the Hulk on a construct made from her head as the other Headsmen carry the other Defenders. Nighthawk, who is supposed to be Chondu but is Jack, watches as Nagan hooks the Defenders up to a mind-altering machine. Jack learns the secret plan of the Headsmen is to take control of the Earth. Chondu/Bambi is captured like many people by some amphibious looking alien. Nagan frees the Defenders and tells them to leave. Hulk gets up ready to smash, but Strange captures Hulk's hands in a crimson tube. Strange tells them he wants Nighthawk's brain. The fight begins. Hulk swings, hands together still, at Nagan, but mashes the ground instead. Hulk's hit levels Nagan's house. The man from #21 laughs because it wasn't him this time. Strange protected them with a dome. Jack grabs Nighthawk's brain and flies away with it. The Defenders are trapped in a gooey substance that comes from Ruby's head. Nighthawk is picked up by Nebulon, the Celestial Man. The amphibious creatures that have been collecting people work for Nebulon.
Defenders #34- Nebulon explains that he wants to help mankind, and the abductions are his misguided attempt at just that. The Defenders get out of goop. The man from #21 taunts Hulk at which point Hulk hurls a large chunk of wall and collapses the man'' house again. Strange teleports them home, and is surprised to find workmen replacing the window Chondu broke when he escaped as "Bambi". Valkyrie tells the workers to mind their business, and Hulk tells them to work or "Hulk will smash little men". Hulk decides to go out and look for Bambi. Nebulon drops from the sky in a fireball as a little bald glasses wearing man. Hulk sees the little man, and knows immediately that he stole Bambi. Hulk throws a punch, but Nebulon catches it with one hand and blasts Hulk with the other. Hulk throws a car at Nebulon, but Nebulon shrinks it in mid-air and catches it in his hand. Nebulon the places Hulk in a bubble and sends him towards space. Suddenly everyone wants to go to the little man's seminar in celestial mind control. Hulk breaks the bubble and falls back to earth. Hulk sees the little man's picture on a flier, and takes it to Strange. The go disguised to the seminar. The little man berates the crowd and has them put on Bozo the Clown masks. He calls Strange up to the stage, but freaks out when Strange takes off his mask. The little man changes back to his Nebulon form. Nebulon blasts Hulk and Valkyrie. Strange goes to fight Nebulon, but Chondu the fawn teleports both himself and Nebulon away.
Defenders #35- Strange contacts Red Guardian's secret identity of Dr. Tania Belinsky to perform the brain transplant. Hulk broods, as he wants to find Bambi. Hulk smashes a table as he loses his patience. Hulk leaves to go find Bambi and smash "sparkle-hair". Valkyrie follows him. Nagan fiddled with Chondu's body while it was empty. Chondu arrives with Nebulon and uses magic to tell Nagan it is him. Nebulon leaves. Hulk is in the Central Park zoo coochie-cooing a fawn when the police arrive. Valkyrie steps in and talks the cops down. Hulk leaps away saying he doesn't trust Valkyrie since she helped the cops and not him. Nagan puts Chondu in his new body. Chondu is defeated by Val, who lost Hulk, while trying to get a new regular body.
Omega the Unknown #2- Bruce is asleep on the sidewalk of New York. Bruce is woken up by the bum that normally sleeps there. The homeless punches Bruce in through the door of a diner which, of course, causes Bruce to change. Hulk throws the man through the diner's window. The man runs, but when Hulk goes after him Omega stands in Hulk's way. Hulk throws Omega through a storefront. Hulk throws a lampost at Omega. Omega frees the cars being carried on a truck causing them to all fall on Hulk. Hulk gets up ready to smash, but Electro flies in and blasts Omega. Electro blasts Hulk and takes the unconscious Omega away on a ladder from a helicopter.
Defenders #36- Kyle wakes up in his own body. Valkyrie is arrested for fighting Chondu. Jack tries to stop a landlord from shooting Aragon on his building. The man clubs Jack, and prepares to shoot, but at that moment Hulk returns and drops the man off his building. Jack sees the man only fell to another landing six feet below. Hulk picks up Aragon and Jack and leaps away. Strange brings Belinsky to his house, but gets a call and has to leave. Belinsky sees him flying away. Strange contacts Valkyrie, but she is asleep in jail. Strange contacts Hulk, but Hulk forces him out of his head. Hulk is covering his ears at the veterinarian's office.
Defenders #37- The vet wants to take Aragon inside to give him stiches, but Hulk starts raving that "Horse is dying." The police show, but Hulk hits the ground and shockwaves them all down. Hulk then pulls down a helicopter. Hulk decides he is sick of puny humans and friends that boss him around. Hulk leaps away.
Defenders #40- Hulk is leaping along when he sees women protesting a feature film called Waste. Hulk decides to show them some waste, but after Hulk destroys the theater he can't remember why he did it. Hulk leaps away. An elf with a gun shoots one of the protestors.
Unlimited Access #1- Access sees the Hulk and thinks that he is the Merged or Professor Hulk that he will see in the future during the Marvel vs. DC crossover. He quickly realizes as Hulk starts throwing cars around that this is not the Hulk he knows. Access offers to get the Hulk home. Hulk agrees as long as there are no tricks. Access is too nervous, and can’t work his powers right. Hulk gets angry thinking Access is trying to trick him. Green Lantern (the Hal Jordan one) arrives and hits Hulk. Hulk says he won’t be trouble and leaps away. Hulk lands and hits Green Lantern. Hulk says he will leave when he is ready to leave. Hulk hits Green Lantern. Green Lantern encases Hulk in a giant green chain. Hulk breaks the chain. Green Lantern then creates a Godzilla creature to step on Hulk. Hulk throws the creature off. Hulk remembers that Access said he would take Hulk home. Hulk grabs Access and leaps. Access opens a portal and takes Hulk back to his own place and time. Hulk is in the desert and leaps away.
Marvel Team Up #51- Hulk is seen leaping across the New Mexico desert.
Defenders annual #1- The other Defenders are all shrunk down and captured inside a dome by the Headsmen. Strange sends his spirit form for help. Hulk comes crashing into the Headsmen's hideout. Ruby tries to shoot Hulk with her head floating around him. Hulk gets his hand stuck in Ruby's head when he punches it. Hulk uses the head and smashes open the dome, and this returns the others to regular size. Hulk defeats Ruby wrapping her head in a steel piece. The other Headsmen are defeated as well.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #197- Hulk emerges from a swamp in the everglades. Crocodiles and snakes try to kill him, but he balls them up together and throws them. Hulk finds some geodesic ruins. Hulk sees a skeleton that appeared to be begging before death. The bones make Hulk "feel cold", but when he sees a bed he decides to go catch a little sleep. Hulk turns into Banner. Bruce awakens and sees a man watching him. Banner and the mute man are later accosted by a group of pirates. When Bruce won't give up his mute friend Captain Horatio Cutlass hits him. Bruce hits back, but is overwhelmed. Bruce hulks out. Hulk pounds on the pirates until the Collector arrives. Collector sends Man-Thing to fight Hulk. While Hulk fights Man-Thing Collector transforms the mute man back into his form as the Glob. Glob joins Man-Thing against Hulk. Glob holds Hulk while Man-Thing smothers him in his chest. The pirates carry the unconscious Hulk.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #198- The pirates take Hulk to the Collector's ship. Hulk is placed inside stasis-shackles. Collector puts his pirates back into their ship in a bottle, and walk to put them back on their shelf. Hulk turns into Banner. Banner slips off the stasis-shackle which woukd have held him within a force field. Bruce walks around looking at the collection. Bruce meets all the other prisoners of Collector's collection. They beg for release or death. Bruce runs into the Collector. Collector says he can prevent Bruce from becoming the Hulk with the Elixir of Life. Bruce thinks about Betty being married, and everyone hating him, but refuses when he sees Collector's disregard for people. Akbar hits Banner. Hulk breaks Akbar's sword. Hulk floors Akbar, and goes for Collector. Colector offers Hulk a cure, but since Hulk doesn't want to remain Banner he destroys it. Collector traps Hulk in a tube of force field. Hulk pounds until he is free. Hulk's rampaging destroys the machine that was keeping the other "exhibits" from escaping. Hulk gets them all free, but as soon as they get out they all regain all the years they had avoided. They die and turn into dust. Hulk is left standing alone.
