Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #200

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #201- Shamu- Shan chants for a champion and through the smoke the Hulk emerges. Hulk wants to know how he came to be here and Shamu explains that they need Hulk to fight for them. Shamu tells Hulk of how Kronak the Barbarian was hired as a bodyguard for King Modrian. Kronak killed Modrian and took over his crown. Kronak rules with a iron grip. Hulk says who cares and is prepared to leave when a girl says Kronak is stronger than Hulk. Hulk will have none of that and goes off to prove he is stronger. Hulk leaps to the castle and says he wants Kronak. Hulk is greeted instead by a spear that breaks on his shoulder. Hulk rips the doors off the castle, and then starts plowing through the guards. The warlock Dragonus hurls a potion at Hulk, which causes a wall to collapse on Hulk. When the guards dig him out Hulk has reverted to Banner. Bruce is brought before Kronak and sentenced to compete in the arena. Kronak lunges at Bruce with his sword. Bruce manages to dodge a few times until his pulse starts racing. Kronak breaks his sword on the Hulk's shoulder. Hulk hits Kronak. Kronak uses his royal gem to summon a demon of his own. The monster hits Hulk, but Hulk charges back into it. The monster grabs Hulk's arms, but as Hulk gets angrier he gets stronger and defeats the beast. Kronak's gem shatters and Kronak sends his guards after Hulk. Hulk wades through them and throws Kronak to the people. The kill Kronak. Shamu goes to thank Hulk, but suddenly Hulk is shrinking again and disappears through the ground.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #204- Hulk says he will fight puny soldiers until they give him Jarella back. Hulk grabs Ross, but somehow as the army drops a dome on Hulk Ross is not trapped as well. They gas Hulk unconscious. Banner watches a tape of the defeat with a Dr. Kronus who is offering Bruce a cure, but Bruce is unsure. Bruce says he needs to talk to Jarella first. Jarella says she loves the man, not the beast, and tells Bruce to go for it. Bruce goes with Dr. Kronus. In the worst cure attempt ever Kronus tells Bruce that they are going to send him back in time so that he can avoid being hit by the gamma rays this time. The go to the original testing ground and send Bruce back. In the past Ross calls for Bruce to get within the shelter. This time, instead of doing something logical like stopping the countdown himself, Bruce runs out there again and calls to Rick from the bunker. Jones doesn't make it in time and is killed in the blast- some genius. Bruce is pulled back to the "present". Betty's husband Bruce is put under sedation because he keeps shouting about Rick and something called "the Hulk". Kronus, now in some odd get up, is calling himself the Master of Time. He says Bruce ruined his career and "devolves" Bruce to a time where he was the Hulk. Hulk charges Kronus and they fall out of the building. So innocent people aren't harmed Kronus goes back in time with Hulk to 1,000,000 BC Kronus hits Hulk. Hulk goes to throw a rock at Kronus, but Kronos de-ages it to when it was lava. Kronus then isolates the spot around the Hulk to the ice age. Kronus removes the ice having made his point. Hulk jumps on Kronus and pounds him silly. Bruce sees that Kronus is now Rick Jones. Bruce awakens in the alternate present from his nightmare. He goes back in time again and does the rescue the right way. This time when he returns Bruce returns to his reality.

Defenders #41- Strange and Nighthawk go looking for Trish Starr. They find she has accidentally opened a portal that allowed Shazanna to enter earth. Shazanna's soldiers hold Trish prisoner. Strange, Trish, and Nighthawk are trapped in a cube made from their biological energies. Hulk is hanging out in Strange's house when both he and Clea hear Strange calling them through Shazanna. Shazanna withdraws Trish from the cube to execute her. Hulk grabs the headsman's axe and breaks it. Hulk fights as Strange frees Nighhawk and himself. Strange banishes her again.

Marvel Team-Up #126- In Manhattan, Hulk is attacked by the SWAT team. Hulk pulls up a lamppost and throws it through a jeep exploding it. Hulk has a giant chunk of concrete over his head when Spider-Man lands on the rock, and webs Hulk's face. Hulk pulls the webbing off and hits the wall Spider-Man is on. Hulk throws a small car. Spider-Man could easily dodge it, but since there are innocent people behind him he manages to stop it as he skids backwards. Hulk tells Bug-Man to shut up. Spidey gets Hulk to chase him. Spider-Man loses Hulk. Hulk rips the door off and building and goes in to sleep. Peter Parker goes in to check on Bruce Banner. Bruce says, "I…surrender…too tired to resist…or run. Why don't you just shoot me officer…and let it end." Peter gives him his coat and his last five dollars saying that when he was down someone gave him five bucks, and it's the responsibility of the recipient to pass it along.

Defenders #57- flashback- Hulk attacks an image, from the Orb of Agamotto, of Ms. Marvel. Hulk recognizes the mask as one similar to the one Captain Marvel wore during Captain Marvel #21. Valkyrie tries to deflect Hulk's attack on Dr. Strange's house with her sword. Hulk takes this as an attack and hits her. Strange holds Hulk with the Crimson Bands of Cyttorak. Strange disperses the image. Hulk calms himself. He apologizes to Sword-Girl and walks away.

Defenders #42- Hulk stands there as Nighthawk bursts into flames. Luke Cage notices the flames come from outside. Hulk bursts through the wall to make his friend's attacker pay. Cage fights with Solaar while Hulk is jumped by the Rhino. They've come for the Star of Capistan. Strange says he has no such gem. Rhino charges Hulk. Hulk blasts him towards Cage. Cage catches him by the horn and smashes his face to the ground. Hulk uses a hydrant to put out an on fire Strange. When Solaar realizes they do not have the gem Rhino hits Hulk once more and then uses the mento-transmitter to teleport out. Strange blames the non capture on the Hulk because Strange and the others are still tired from their fight with the Hulk in #206-207. Egghead punishes Rhino and Solaar. Strange's friend brings the Star of Capistan later. Hulk sits on a park bench in a trench coat waiting outside the hospital for Nighthawk to receive treatment for burns that aren't really there. The Earth starts to shake and Cobalt Man emerges from the ground. Hulk recognizes him and punches him. Hulk, Power Man, and Valkyrie hit Cobalt Man at the same time. As Cobalt Man lies unconscious he starts glowing preparing to explode.

Defenders #43- Hulk wants to know why Blue Man is glowing. Valkyrie says that he is about to explode, and Hulk says he will fix it by hitting him. Luke Cage tries to stop Hulk, but his dug in feet only create grooves in the concrete as Hulk continues to walk towards Cobalt Man. Nighthawk says he wants Hulk to use his strength a different way. Hulk leaps with Cobalt Man into the river. The water cools Cobalt Man down and prevents the explosion. Hulk carries Cobalt Man out of the water. Back in Strange's house Hulk worries that Magician has been gone a long time. Egghead teleports into Strange's house behind Hulk. He throws an egg at Hulk which envelopes Hulk in some kind of "bag". Hulk finds the bag to soft and can't rip it apparently. Egghead is later taken out as Cobalt Man explodes himself on Egghead.

Defenders #44- Hulk knocks over Luke Cage and says nothing will stop him until he finds missing Magician. Nighthawk, ineffectually, leaps onto Hulk's back. Valkyrie says they can't help Hulk find Strange if he smashes them. Hulk decides she is right. Hulk and Valkyrie talk to Red Guardian about Omar Karindu, whom Strange left to see a ways back. Valkyrie stays with Red Guardian, and Hulk, Cage, and Nighthawk go to Omar's hotel. Hulk apologizes for hitting "Fuzzy-Hair" (oh very PC). Cage rides on Hulk's shoulders as he leaps. Hulk and the others come upon Rhino and Solaar being put into a police vehicle in S.H.E.I.L.D. restraints. Lt. Kris Keating takes the Defenders up to see Omar Karindu. When Karindu tells them he fears he has doomed Strange Hulk lifts him by the shirt. Karindu explains that the Star of Capistan is responsible. Karindu explains that the Star turns its host into the Red Rajah. Karindu fears that Strange is the latest Rajah. While talking Karindu, like every other person besides the Defenders, falls into a trance. The follow a red glow in Central Park to find Red Rajah. Rajah is calling the zombies to him to be his followers. Hulk bounds up to Rajah saying he isn't Strange. Rajah punches Hulk and knocks him out. Nighthawk and Power Man are defeated too leaving Valkyrie, red Guardian, and the recently arrived Hellcat.

Defenders #45- After Rajah disperses Valkyrie, Red Guardian, and Hellcat he has his followers carry the Hulk. All three guy Defenders are now in trances too. Rajah has Hulk punch Nighthawk and Luke Cage, but only to injure- not kill. Rajah praises Hulk for his blind obedience. When the female Defenders return with Clea Rajah uses the male Defenders against them. Hulk keeps trying to smash Hellcat. Clea frees Strange from the curse of the Rajah. Hulk tells Hellcat that she mad Hulk mad, but he isn't mad anymore. When Nighthawk asks why Strange is moping Hulk apologizes for damaging his house. Strange announces he must leave the Defenders.

Defenders #46- Luke Cage and Red Guardian decide to leave too. Hellcat joins. Nighthawk and Valkyrie remain and decide to go to Kyle Richmond's riding academy. Hulk is confused and thinks he is being asked to choose between his friends. Nighthawk says Strange wants them out. Hulk takes it as Nighthawk insulting Strange. Valkyrie explains to Hulk that Strange wants to be alone. Hulk says he understands wanting to be left alone, but thinks "maybe Bird-Nose still deserves to be smashed". Hulk says he isn't mad at Bird-Nose as long as he stops bad mouthing Magician. They go to Nighthawk's riding academy. Hulk remembers it and says he prefers it outside of the city. They enter a building to find Scorpio. Scorpio blasts them back with the Key to the Zodiac. Hulk gets angry Scorpio is attacking his friends. Scorpio blasts a bunch of machines onto Hulk, and keeps fighting with the others. Hulk emerges from the machines just in time to see Scorpio teleport away. An elf with a gun is going to shoot a paperboy, but is hit by a truck.

Defenders #47- When Valkyrie and Hellcat go to Avengers mansion Hulk decides he wants to go be alone for a bit and leaps away.

Defenders #48- Hulk thinks about how tired he is of hitting and puny humans. Hulk is even sick of his friends. Hulk decides to go to sleep and do something fun tomorrow.

Defenders #49- Puny humans run from their picnic when Hulk crashes. Hulk is happy he decided to have fun today. Valkyrie and Hellcat are called upon by Moon Knight to help against Scorpio. Valkyrie taps Hulk's shoulder, but Hulk tells her to go away. Hulk says Valkyrie is his friend, but that he doesn't want to be bothered today. Hellcat tries too, but eventually Valkyrie kicks over Hulk's picnic table. Hulk gets up and chases them. Moon Knight hits Hulk with one of his little moon things. Hulk hits the ground knocking them over and breaking a water pipe. Hulk says he didn't want to fight, but friends made him. They keep baiting Hulk getting him to follow. They go into a tunnel, but Hulk leaps over the tunnel and waits for them on the other side- to smash! Moon Knight calls his copter to distract Hulk. Moon Knight, Valkyrie, and Hellcat board the copter, and Hulk follows. Hulk grabs the tail of the copter. Hellcat kicks him off and Hulk lands in the water below. Hulk sees Moon Knight land on a building and leaps onto, and into, it. Hulk comes face to face with Scorpio and the new Zodiac.

Defenders #50- Hulk sees Scorpio, Leo, Sagittarius, Aquarius, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Ares, and Libra. Scorpio wants to know where Capricorn, Pisces, and Virgo are. Hulk charges in and says he doesn't care, but if they show up Hulk will smash them too. Hellcat, Moon Knight, and Valkyrie show and help fight. Hulk is knocked by Aries from the building back into the water. Hulk hates water. He leaps back up. Hulk lands on Taurus as he re-enters the building. Hulk throws Tauros through the ceiling and past Scorpio on the floor above. Hulk wants Aries and says he'll pull the whole factory down to find him. Hulk starts ripping the place apart. Aries is about to sneak attack Hulk, but Nighthawk rams his head into the ground. The Defenders give a big rallying cry. Hulk says he doesn't care about Defenders, he just wants to smash. Hulk fights Cancer. Hulk knocks Cancer's head off, and then punches him through the floor. The others are all defeated, except Gemini who sided with the Defenders, and Libra, who simply left. Scorpio kills himself.

Defenders #51- After the fight Hulk says again that he only wants to go have some fun. That he wants to do more than just smashing. Hulk says that no one listens to him.

Marvel Team-Up #126- Bruce walks along the streets of Chicago as he thinks about how it's been since he left New York. He sees an old man who was just robbed of his pension money. Bruce shouts for the police, but runs into the robbers. They start to beat on him, but when Bruce turns into Hulk they run to turn themselves in. Hulk starts smashing things. The old man who was robbed is the only one who doesn't run. He says, "I'm too tired to run…too weak to resist. Go ahead…kill me. Let it end". Something reminds Hulk of the time Bruce said something similar to Peter Parker. Hulk gives the old man five dollars as Peter did to Bruce.

Rampaging Hulk #1- In Chicago, Illinois Bruce is being watched as he works late at the Brand Corporation. Banner looks at the Gamma Accelerator. Bruce thinks to himself about how he lost Betty when he catches himself getting to excited. After hours of work Bruce tries the Gamma Accelerator on himself. Something is wrong. Bruce changes, but the change is different this time. Bruce leaps in front of Ross and Talbot halfway stuck between either form. The soldiers shoot, but Hulk is still bulletproof. He isn't as strong however and the soldiers all pile on him. Talbot shoots Hulk with a tranquilizer. Hulk goes down and they take him back to Gamma Base. The two are struggling for dominance. Inside their mind Bruce yells at Hulk for ruining his life. Hulk says that Bruce kept Hulk in the dark for years until the night of the original gamma bomb test. Hulk then knew that everytime he was in the darkness that it was Bruce's fault. Bruce says that they're the same person, but Hulk doesn't believe it. Hulk tries to hit Bruce, but on the mental plane Bruce decks Hulk. Bruce starts to gain control of the body. Bruce says it was because of him that Rick and Betty deserted him. Hulk strikes back saying that it was Bruce's fault. Hulk gains more control over their body. The two start choking each other. Bruce's body starts to die. Bruce realizes they are dying, but Hulk thinks Banner is lying. Bruce tries but he sees that Hulk is not his dark side, but rather a personality all his own. Hulk gains full control of their body. Hulk starts pounding on his prison until he is strong enough to break out. Hulk leaps away feeling good about himself. Inside Bruce weeps.

Rampaging Hulk #2- Bruce goes back to Desert State University. Bruce is looking for his old mentor Geoffrey Crawford to help him find a cure. Bruce sees him and finds him very sick/ Crawford has Bruce place an apple in one of his inventions so that he can show Bruce his recently finished project. Crawford teleports the apple from one pod to the next. I occurs to Crawford that he might be able to use the telepods to cure Bruce. He scans Bruce's body and examines the results. Crawford thinks he might be able to filter out the gamma as Bruce reforms. But since it's late they go back to Crawford's house. Later that night Bruce notices Crawford is gone. He goes to the lab and sees Crawford trying to get his genetic structure to match Bruce's. Bruce tries to talk him out of it, but to no avail. Bruce tries to stop the countdown, but hulks out from the pressure. Hulk sees Crawford emerge as Ravage. Ravage attacks Hulk for trying to stop him from gaining this power. The two fight back and forth until Ravage finally knocks Hulk out.

Rampaging Hulk #3- Bruce runs around trying to find Crawford. Bruce sees Crawford lying, crippled again, on the ground outside his house. Crawford said he reverted to normal with the rising of the sun. Bruce says they have to find a way for them to prevent him from becoming Ravage again at sunset. Crawford doesn't want to. Bruce tries to talk, but General Ross knocks on Crawford's door. Crawford tells Bruce to hide, but Crawford betrays Bruce so that he cannot prevent his changing again. Talbot tranquilizes Bruce. Back at Gamma Base Bruce sits drugged in a chair as Betty watches through an observation window. He tells her to go away. He tells her to go back to her husband. Later that evening Ross tells Banner about Ravage. Bruce tells him it's Crawford. Banner says he needs to be taken to him. He says he can cure him. Ravage spots Banner and Ross in his lab. Ravage destroys the pods, but says he already used his hidden pod to prevent himself from transforming at dawn. Bruce hulks out. The two fight back and forth until the building is about to collapse. Hulk grabs Ross and jumps out. Ravage digs out of the rubble. Talbot freezes Ravage cryogenically, but Ross blocks the shot at Hulk because he saved his life. Hulk wrecks the machine and leaps away.

Rampaging Hulk #4- Hulk sits on a mountain top brooding. He yells that he wants to be alone, and jumps down from the mountain. Hulk is hungry and sees a cabin, but all of Hulk's yelling and stomping had caused an avalanche. Hulk and the cabin are buried. Bruce emerges into the cabin. As Bruce talks with the man he sees the bond between him and his son. Bruce iis jealous of their relationship. They decide to try and crawl out of the tunnel Bruce tunneled in from. They actually get to the top, but the kid and Bruce don't make it out. Hulk leaps from the tunnel with the kid in his arms. Later Bruce arrives with Danny in his arms. Bruce watches stuned as the father is arresterd because he kidnapped his own son to be with him.

Incredible Hulk annual #5- Now in Colorado Hulk is having his typical trouble with the army. Hulk smashes them and leaps away. Hulk is being watched, and his watcher deploys one of five enemies for Hulk to fight. Hulk scares off two fishermen as he is confronted by Diablo. Hulk can't hit "smoke-thing", but "smoke-thing" can control his molecular density and hardens to hit Hulk. Diablo smothers Hulk, but Hulk pulls an Abomination and tunnels under and behind Diablo. Hulk notices his yelling disperses Diablo. Hulk claps his hand and tears Diablo apart. Hulk walks on. In the water Hulk is confronted by Taboo. Again Hulk has trouble hitting "mud-face", but taboo cements Hulk inside his goop. Hulk breaks free. Hulk hits the riverbed in frustration over not being able to hurt "mud-face". Hulk anchors his feet in the ground, but as Taboo is mud he can only be sucked under by the whirlpool. Hulk walks on very tired. Hulk is attacked by Groot. When hitting the "talking tree" does no good Hulk uproots him. Hulk blocks Groot's thorns with a rock. Hulk gets an idea and destroys Groot with a rock in each hand. Hulk feels as though he is getting weaker. He cannot even leap away. Goom attacks Hulk. Goom shrinks Hulk with eye rays. But Hulk regains his size as his rage and strength counters the effects. Hulk says Goom reminds him of the monsters in #170 so Hulk swings Goom around and throws him into a mountain. Hulk jumps on Goom and causes an avalanche on him. Hulk walks away, but is attacked by Blip. Hulk thinks Blip is Zzzax. Blip keeps zapping Hulk until Hulk throws him into a power line. Blip is sucked up into the line. Hulk collapses. The ground enfolds Hulk and flies to a base. Hulk smashes out of ground, and is grabbed by mechanical arms. Hulk sees his tormentor is "white-thing" or Xemnu, the living titan. Xemnu underestimated Hulk, and tries to run for it. Xemnu transports himself inside a bubble. Hulk holds it as it goes. Finally Hulk breaks the bubble, and Hulk and Xemnu fall. The fall on a dam. Their battle breaks the damn and when Hulk surfaces Xemnu is missing.

Rampaging Hulk #5-Bruce sits in a restaurant in Crystal Falls, Colorado. He thinks about his recent confrontation with the Hulk and what that means towards getting rid of Hulk. Bruce's waitress asks if he wants to order. Bruce hits on the waitress. She leaves her phone number on his check, but as Bruce leaves the restaurant he sees that the Fantastic Four is in Crystal Falls. They say they're looking for the Hulk. Bruce's waitress turns to remark about how weird this is, but Bruce is already gone. Bruce changes into the Hulk as he runs. Hulk jumps back to the Fantastic Four. Torch puts fire rings around Hulk, but Hulk kicks open a fire hydrant. Invisible Girl pummels Hulk with invisible spheres. Hulk grabs Torch out of the air and throws him. Reed stretches and catches him. Sue puts a bubble around Hulk's head. Reed tells Sue to help Torch direct the crowd away. He tries to put an encephalo-band, designed like the helmet from 200, but Hulk crushes it. Hulk starts to stretch Reed, but Thing hits him off. Thing is invisible so Hulk throws a car at Susan Richards so that she can't concentrate on making Thing invisible. Hulk plows Thing into the Fantasti-car. Thing knocks Hulk in front of Bruce's waitress. Torch grabs her up and takes her to safety. Hulk drops Thing and says he is sick of humans, sick of being hunted. Hulk leaps away to find peace, and with the Fantasti-car broken Hulk gets away.

Rampaging Hulk #6- Hulk leaps across the New Mexican desert. Hulk lands in the road, and a truck has to swerve to miss him. One of the passengers is the Puma, and he leaps at Hulk. Puma dances around Hulk kicking him. Hulk and Puma go for each other, but the old man stops them. The old man chastises Puma for his lack of respect. The old man offers to help Hulk with his problem if he'll get their truck back on the road. Hulk says he has no problem, but the old man shows Hulk how Puma can switch back and forth from Puma to his human form. Hulk says he is not Banner. The old man says that we all have to strive for harmony. Hulk puts the truck back on the road, and asks if they have any beans. Around the fire the old man, Threetree, asks Hulk if he worships any god. Hulk says that if worship means smash then he has done that to Thor a few times. Hulk drinks a potion, and enters a state of readiness. Hulk leaves body and mind behind and finds himself floating with Puma. Hulk comes to see a group of people. Betty says that Hulk must open up to the truth- that it is not an enemy, but a part of him. Jarella tells Hulk that she knows he loves her, but that Hulk must love someone else as much as he loves her. Back in the physical world Hulk has turned to Bruce Banner. Rick and Jim Wilson try to convince Hulk to stop hating the man ahead. The man turns around and it is Bruce Banner. Hulk and Bruce move towards each other as back in the physical world Bruce is shot through the head. Still in a trance Bruce turns into Hulk. Here in the realm of the soul Hulk speaks more eloquently as he has always been more in touch with his soul than Bruce has. Hulk points out that Bruce hates Hulk's penchant for destruction, but if cured Bruce would go back to designing weapons. The army comes to collect the body, lead by Reeves who authorized shooting Banner, but find Hulk standing above them. The army starts to fire and Hulk says goodbye to Threetree as he leaps away.

Marvel Team-Up #53- After watching the town all night Hulk decides it is safe for him to rest there. Hulk notices there are no people around. He also notices a funny smell. Since no one else is around Hulk decides the town is his. He figures he should pick the place up a bit. When he sets a truck upright a dead man falls from the driver's side. Hulk shakes the dead guy for answers, but is interrupted by Woodgod. Hulk throws the truck's door at Woodgod, but he just knocks it away. Spider-Man sees a transmission that the town of Liberty is under quarantine, and that nothing can be allowed to leave it. He also sees that Hulk and Woodgod are fighting. Spider-Man decides to follow the story. Hulk says Goat-Legs is trying to take his town. Woodgod rambles something about "a scream" that takes things. Woodgod decides that Hulk somehow brought scream. He kicks Hulk into a building. Hulk gets up to fight, but feels dizzy. Hulk lifts a car that accidentally touches an electrical wire. Hulk is shocked and drops the car as he changes back into Bruce Banner. Banner collapses. Spider-Man learns that a load of nerve gas accidentally went off in the town. Woodgod attacks Spider-Man saying he will beat Spider-Man like he did green man. Suddenly Hulk gets up behind Spider-Man and decides he will smash him instead of Goat-Face.

Marvel Team-Up #54- Spider-Man moves and the army shoots a resistance-strength net over Hulk and Woodgod. The net increases its mass to match the strength of its captive. Spider-Man realizes the guys are trying to kill Hulk so he disables the net. Hulk wants to know why Bug-Man freed him and Goat-Face. The soldiers fire missiles at the trio. Hulk pushes Spider-Man behind him, and Hulk uses his body to block the missiles. The government shoots some gas at the trio. They all go down, though because of some anti-radiation injection Spider-Man previously got he goes down last. Spidey awakens to find Woodgod about to be launched into space and then the military plans to blame Hulk and Spider-Man for the destruction of Liberty, New Mexico. Spidey tricks them into letting him loose. Spidey frees Woodgod, and together they free Hulk. Major Tremens points his atomic cannon at the three. Hulk takes the blast, and then claps his hands. The whole place starts to shake. Hulk drags his fingers down a rocket as he falls into the silo. Spider-Man is launched inside the rocket. Hulk jumps on the rocket to stop it, but before Hulk can stop it the rocket separates and Hulk drops back to earth. Hulk waves goodbye to his friend Bug-Man.

Marvel Team-Up #55- Hulk decides to go to the mountains for some rest.

Incredible Hulk annual #6- At Dr. Strange's house a robot is looking for Dr. Strange. Hulk goes to stop it, but is blasted. Strange says he will go with the robot despite Hulk's warnings that he thinks it is a trap. Strange walks through a portal and meets three scientists. Strange senses something is wrong so he sends his location to Hulk. Hulk thinks that nobody ever listens to Hulk, but he likes magician so goes to help him. While swimming across the water a sub fires upon Hulk, as he is unrecognized watercraft. The first one hits Hulk, but the second one is going in the direction Hulk is going. He decides to ride it. The scientists are the ones who made Him, or Warlock, and they are trying again. Hulk washes up an island's shore, but since it's the wrong island Hulk hits the torpedo that brought him there. The explosion brings the army. They say if Hulk just leaves there will be no trouble. This isn't one of those times Hulk wanted peace though as he destroys the tanks. The scientists want Strange to help them alter this one's brain to keep him from going insane. Hulk finds himself in the USSR and he winds up getting hit by a launching cosmonaut. Hulk yells at the guy, but leaves to find Strange. Strange performs the operation and Paragon is born. The scientists tell Paragon to kill Strange. Hulk is leaping through China when he sees a bomb that reminds him of something. Just before Hulk lands the bomb is detonated. Hulk is sent flying towards some neighboring islands. Hulk wakes to find the natives worshiping him. They carry Hulk, and Hulk somehow believes they are carrying him to Strange. Of course they aren't, but rather they take him to a green statue that resembles Hulk. Hulk gets angry that Strange isn't there and feels he has been tricked. Strange battles Paragon. Hulk finally finds Strange's location, buy the place is protected by a dome. Hulk breaks through the dome, and rushes to Strange's aid. When Paragon turns to blast Hulk Strange casts a spell on Paragon's legs keeping him from moving. Hulk hits Paragon, and then holds him for Strange. Paragon breaks free of Hulk and then undergoes a transformation. Paragon learned of Him from the computer. When Paragon knew they were going to operate on his brain he gave himself a post-hypnotic command to reverse the operation. Paragon is now his own man, and he judges his creators evil. Paragon destroys the island. Strange and Hulk escape through the scientists' teleporter. Paragon goes back into his cocoon, as he has no focus except his former master's. The cocoon sinks to the ocean's floor. Hulk says if Paragon came out he would be hunted as Hulk is because he was different.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #210- Dr. Druid walks up to Banner in the alleyway. Druid says he needs Bruce's help. Bruce says he is going home, but offers to let Druid explain there. April Sommers hugs Bruce thankful that he wasn't hurt at the construction job Absorbing Man vs. Hulk fight. Druid and Bruce go to his room. Druid tells Bruce of the remnants of the Hellfire Helix and the Maha-Yogi who possesses it. Maha intends to take over the planet. Bruce offers his help, but says he doesn't want to be Hulk again even for the whole planet. Bruce rides with Druid to Maha's New Jersey base. Druid uses an illusion pass to get past Maha's guard. Once they're inside Maha Yogi knows they are there. Bruce rides on Druid's back as he walks on fire. Next Bruce defeats a knight on a motorcycle by sticking a stick into his front tire. Druid deals with more knights. Bruce is nearly shot by one, but transforms into the Hulk before he can be. Hulk smashes puny humans. Hulk and Druid burst through Maha's wall. Maha and Druid each try to control Hulk's mind. Hulk collapses.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #211- Maha and his servant Mongu defeat Druid. Mongu carries Druid and Hulk to the dungeons. Hulk wakes up in shackles. Hulk resists them, but is shocked for his efforts. Druid hypnotizes Hulk into turning into Banner. Bruce slides easily out of Hulk's restraints. Bruce gets Druid out. They try to escape but come face to face with Mongu. Mongu takes them to Maha. Maha says he wants Hulk to fight Mongu to amuse his troops. Bruce says he won't become the Hulk. Maha says he will go as is then. Bruce is given an axe. Mongu punches Bruce. Banner dodges Mongu's axe. Bruce transforms. Hulk tackles Mongu. Mongu hits Hulk in the face with his axe. Mongu is stunned that Hulk still stands. Hulk hits Mongu. Maha Yogi uses his piece of the Hellfire Helix, the Jewel of Jeopardy, to power up Mongu. Mongu teleports behind Hulk and hits him in the back. Mongu pounds on Hulk, but Hulk won't fall. Because of Maha concentrating on the fight Druid regains his thoughts. Druid causes Maha to drop the Jewel of Jeopardy. Maha tells Mongu to get it. Hulk hits Mongu and crushes the jewel. Maha ages centuries. After the others desert him Mongu goes to take care of Maha Yogi.

What If? #2- Hulk bursts through a wall. The police are all over Hulk, and Hulk wonders why they don't leave him alone. Hulk knocks them away. Hulk leaps away saying that he didn't want to go to the city. That it was Bruce Banner who took him there. Hulk leaps on top of a big mountain. Hulk sits down to think, but finds it hard and can't remember what he wanted to think about.

Inhumans #12- Bruce sits in a coffee shop wondering if has done the right thing coming to New York. He sees that outside at the United Nations building police surround Black Bolt as he stands atop a lamppost. Bruce comes out to see what is going on. Medusa, Triton, Gorgon, and Karnak arrive to warn the UN that the Earth is in danger from the Kree. The police aren't listening and start a fight with the Inhumans. Bruce sees that the Inhumans were only trying to help and hulks out. Hulk starts fighting with the police too. Triton notices Hulk is helping them, but is worried that he might hurt the police. Triton and Black Bolt jump on Hulk. Hulk throws Triton and Black Bolt off. Medusa wraps her hair around Hulk's face. Hulk whips her by her hair and throws her blocks away. Black Bolt flies to go catch her. Gorgon stomps the ground knocking Hulk over. Hulk says he will show Hoof-Man how to break the street. Hulk hits the ground and Gorgon falls through the ground to the sewer below. Triton dives in to save Gorgon. Karnak senses Hulk's weakest spot and strikes as hard as he can above Hulk's heart. Hulk asks if Karnak is done and swats him away. Black Bolt returns with Medusa and Hulk recognizes him from King Size Special #1. Hulk throws a truck at Black Bolt. Black Bolt melts it with his harp's power. Black Bolt then continues using it on Hulk. Hulk advances. Karnal tells Black Bolt about Hulk's weakest spot. Black Bolt hits it and knocks Hulk into a building. Hulk gets back up and hits Black Bolt. He then backhands Triton into the other Inhumans while holding Black Bolt. Lockjaw arrives and teleports them all to the roof of the UN building. Hulk wants to smash Bl;ack Bolt again, but Black Bolt uses his harp's power to hold Hulk aloft until he is struck with lightning. Hulk wakes up and Triton convinces Hulk that they are all friends. Hulk leaps away satisfied.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #212- Bruce sits bored and moping in his room. April Sommers comes in and figures she ought to know something about Bruce, at least his last name. Bruce gives her his real name, but doesn't want to go on. April says she will be back for some answers. Bruce gets a phone call from Jim Wilson. Jim tells him where he is and that he needs help. Their call is cut off and Bruce rushes out to find Jim. Bruce arrives to see Constrictor forcing Jim into a car. Constrictor tries to run down Bruce, but leaps from the car as it hits the Hulk. Hulk rips open the car and recognizes his friend Jim. Constrictor is upset because he has always been able to carry out his assassinations without being seen. Hulk swings at Constrictor, but Constrictor leaps over his arm. Constrictor whips Hulk's back and face. He hits Hulk's eyes. Hulk swings blindly at Constrictor, but Constrictor keeps dodging. Constrictor wraps his coils around Hulk's neck and releases an electrical burst. Hulk whips Constrictor into a car using his coils. The electricity clears Hulk's vision in time to see Constrictor with his hand wrapped around Jim's throat. Hulk hits the ground breaking his hold on Jim. Constrictor shoots his coils, but Hulk ducks, and Constrictor hits deep within the power lines of a lamppost. Constrictor blacks out three city blocks and falls over. Hulk and Jim leave together.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #213- The police's bullets bounce off Hulk. Hulk grabs their gun and destroys it. Hulk lifts the cop to smash, but Jim Wilson talks him into putting him down. An armored Stark Industries truck barrels in and unloads the Quintronic Man, a robot operated by five people one for each limb and one for the head. Hulk charges Quintronic Man, but is kicked back. Hulk gets up and leaps at Quintronic Man. Hulk is swatted back. Hulk says Quintronic Man thinks he is better than he is because he is taller. Hulk pulls the ground up knocking Quintronic Man over. Quintronic Man activates his boot jets and blasts Hulk. The blast didn't hurt Hulk, but melted the street. McCord, In the right arm, knocks Hulk under the melted concrete. Hulk leaps out and hits the head. Both arms blast Hulk. Hulk keeps advancing until Quintronic Man does what everyone who wants to beat the Hulk does: releases gas. Hulk collapses. The police load Hulk into an air tight armored car. Jim Wilson is brought along. Jim grabs the steering wheel and drives the truck into a wall opening the back of the armored car. The crack allowed the gas to escape letting Hulk wake up. Hulk hits Quintronic Man jamming their protect-pods. Left arm hits Hulk into the wall, but Hulk pushes off the wall with his arm and drives his feet into Quin's face. The head prepares to release the gas again, but Hulk takes a piece of concrete and jams it into the slot where the gas escapes. The gas can't escape and it knocks out the five people inside. Quin falls over into a wall. Hulk grabs Jim and leaps away.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #214- Hulk lands with Jim. Hulk says he is getting sick of puny humans, and that if they bother him again he will kill them all. Jim tries to calm Hulk. Hulk changes into Bruce. Bruce and Jim head to Bruce's place. Bruce tells Jim to be quiet going up so he doesn't have to tell April Sommers about his being the Hulk. Bruce and Jim find someone in his room. Jim tackles Kropotkin the great. Bruce tells Kropotkin to leave. April comes in and a shouting match starts. Bruce feels the change coming on. Bruce has Jim herd everyone out of the room. Bruce leaps out the window and lands as the Hulk. Jim watches Hulk leap away. Hulk is in mid-air when Jack of Hearts kicks him to the ground. Jack dives on Hulk, and then hits him into the wall. Hulk leaps at Jack, but Jack blasts upwards dodging him. He lands on Hulk. Hulk grabs Jack's foot, but Jack blasts him twice into some boxes. Jack sees a freighter on fire, and thinks he needs to get Hulk out of there fast. Jack charges Hulk, but Hulk stands firm and Jack bounces off him onto the ground. Hulk hits Jack into the middle of the fire fighters. He leaps at Jack, but Jack flies away. Jack gets Hulk to chase him, but underestimates Hulk'' leaping speed. Hulk tackles Jack, and they land on the on fire freighter. Jack leaps over Hulk, but Hulk strikes the ground shooting Jack straight up. Hulk leaps up and knocks Jack back into the smokestack. Jack realizes that this fight happened only because he provoked it. He tries to apologize, but Hulk says he is tired or lies. Hulk pulls the smokestack up and puts it on top of Jack. The freighter explodes and Jack is shot out of the smokestack like a cannon. Jack assumes Hulk is dead.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #217- Hulk washes up on shore. Hulk wakes up, but doesn't like the sand so he keeps moving. Hulk smells food and decides that if puny humans try to keep food from him he will smash them. Hulk sees a wagon, and is grabbed from behind. Hulk shrugs them off, and turns to see four circus performers; a contortionist, a fat lady, a midget, and a dog faced boy. They apologize for attacking him, and call him friend. The dog faced boy invites Hulk to stay and Hulk's face lights up. Dog faced boy introduces Hulk to Meriam. Meriam is beautiful and Hulk doesn't think he can stay with them. Meriam convinces Hulk to stay. As they travel they come to a broken down bridge they cannot cross. Hulk decides to make a bridge for his new friends. Hulk uproots a tree and knocks it in half. The two ends side by side form a bridge. After they eat Hulk says, "food was good, but beans are better". Major Minor says that you can't be choosey on the run. Hulk says to tell him who is chasing them and he will smash them. They say they're on the run from their old ringmaster. The others go to bed and Hulk is joined by Meriam. As they talk of finding peace Meriam faints. The others take her into the wagon and put wet compresses on her. Tears form in Hulk's eyes and says that he has already lost one girl, and couldn't bear to lose another. The wagon starts to shake and Hulk goes to see what it is. Hulk is wrapped up by a python. Hulk throws the python off (as it should be), but comes face to face with the Ringmaster. Ringmaster hypnotizes Hulk. The others are taken captive and caged. Hulk is manacled and caged separately. Stilts manages to bend the bar just enough for Major Minor to slip through. He wakes Hulk from his trance. Hulk breaks off his manacles and plows through his cage. Hulk rips the bars off his friends' cage. Hulk rips open the wagon Ringmaster has Meriam in. Circus performers attack Hulk, but before long they are running. Hulk comes face to face with Ringmaster, but Hulkis so angry that Ringmaster doesn't affect him. Ringmaster crumples. Hulk finds Meriam. She tells Hulk she is a sea nymph, and as the last of her kind she was lonely. Meriam knows now that she must stay in trhe water to live. Hulk carries Meriam to the ocean. Hulk wants to stay with Meriam, but as she says he couldn't stay in her world anymore than she could his. Meriam kisses Hulk, and says she wil lnever be lonely because she will think of him. The next wave takes Meriam out to sea. Hulk walks off alone.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #219- On the beach Hulk throws a tantrum over losing both Jarella and Meriam. He gets tired and falls asleep sitting up. Hulk doesn't even wake as he starts sliding down the mountainside. Bruce awakens as he hits bottom. Bruce walks along in the rain. Bruce steals some clothes and gets a job as a hired hand on the DMB Rotterdam. Bruce finds himself calm at sea. Bruce's ship is attacked by Captain Barracuda and his pirates. Bruce hulks out. Hulk starts smashing pirates until his own fighting causes the cargo-hoist to knock Hulk into the water. Hulk walks out of the water on an island. Hulk walks for a bit, but eventually he goes back to sleep. Hulk is awakened by Robinson Crusoe and his dog. Crusoe thinks Hulk is his old friend Friday. The walk off together. Back at Crusoe's camp the Beast-Men attack. Hulk smashes the ape-like beings, and throws them away. Captain Barracuda shoots Crusoe's gun out of his hand.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #220- Hulk hits the ground and knocks sand into the pirates' eyes. Hulk keeps smashing them until Barracuda finds the machine he came looking for in Crusoe's hut. Barracuda shoots Hulk with the machine. Hulk staggers to his knees and passes out. Hulk awakens to see Barracuda, Crusoe, and the others getting into a submarine. Hulk swims to the submarine, and holds on as it takes him to a city under the continental shelf. Hulk sneaks up and hears Barracuda telling Crusoe his real name is Dr. Purvis and that the Beast Men were his assistants altered by the machine. Barracuda transforms Purvis into a Beast Man. Hulk rescues Crew-so from jail. Crew-so's new apelike intelligence feels Hulk's kinship and comes with him. Hulk fights the pirates again, but is downed by the machine ago. Not only is he knocked out, but he also transforms back into Bruce. Crusoe activates the machine turning all into Beast-Men. Crusoe loads Banner into a ship and ships him off to the surface.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #221- Bruce wakes up on the Lady Diane with Crew-so's dog and talks to Walter Newell. Bruce says le last remembers being attacked by pirates. Walter says they are almost back to New York, and there they will all talk to the harbormaster. Bruce borrows some cash and he and the dog run from the boat. Walter discovers who Bruce really is. Bruce nearly transforms into Hulk from his cabbie's erratic driving. When Bruce and the dog get out of the cab the driver finds a large hand imprint on the door. Bruce runs in with the dog. April runs from Bruce. Jim says he told her he was the Hulk. Bruce talks April out, but Walter shows up. Walter tries to apprehend Bruce by force. Bruce fights back, and Walter changes into his Stingray outfit. Stingray accidentally hits Jim with a blast. Bruce hulks out. Stingray is hit out of the building. Stingray dodges a lamppost Hulk throws. Stingray keeps blasting Hulk until Hulk knocks him out of the sky with a large chunk of concrete. Jim tries to stop Hulk from killing Stingray. Hulk says he is sick of being told what to do. Hulk leaps away.

Champions #16- Hulk arrives at Dr. Doom's side to serve him because of some nuero-gas Doom is using to take over the country. Magneto and Beast arrive to defeat Doom. Doom dispatches Hulk. Magneto wraps Hulk up in the nozzle of a tank. Hulk breaks out as the Champions arrive. Magneto pushes Hulk into Hercules. Hulk gets mad and hits Hercules. The two fight until Doom loses control of the world. Hulk leaps away.

Defenders #51- Hulk smashes the ground knocking the police over so that he can keep eating hot dogs from the vendor's cart.

Defenders #52- From atop a building on Park Avenue Hulk sees Namor walking down the streets. He sees lots of police and thinks that maybe his friend needs help. Hulk jumps down to talk to Namor, but Namor physically pushes Hulk aside and insults him. Hulk punches Namor into a news van. Namor flies away, as his people are in need of aid quickly, but Hulk leaps up and grabs Namor's foot. Namor kicks Hulk off. Hulk falls to the ground below and says that he was wrong to think Fish-Man was his friend. Hulk is mad. Hulk leaps up and Namor says he must reach the Baxter Building. Hulk says he doesn't care what Fish-Man wants. The two start to battle back and forth. Namor tries to hurt Hulk by emitting electric current at him. Hulk punches Namor up through the sidewalk. Nighthawk and Hellcat arrive to break the fight up. Namor tells Nighthawk of a radiation problem from a soviet underground-testing zone. Nighthawk suggests Hulk help. Hulk agrees and apologizes to Fish-Man for hitting him.

Defenders #53- Hulk gets hungrier and hungrier as he, Namor, Nighthawk, and Hellcat ride in an Atlantean ship to go to Atlantis. When they arrive Hulk is fitted with a helmet for breathing air. Inside an air dome Hulk eats until Namor starts yelling that they have to do something quickly. They take off to a place where Sergei, also known as the Presence and a mind-controlled Red Guardian are undergoing cobalt radiation baths in order to transform themselves. As the Defenders approach the Presence activates a nuclear bomb causing earthquakes across Europe and destroying the ship Hulk and the others are in. The presence is created.

Defenders #54- Hulk is out of the destroyed ship and looks around for his friends who might be hurt. Hulk finds Nighthawk, and as Namor rescues Hellcat, and brings him up to the surface. Hulk climbs up onto the wreckage and leaps to land. Leaping causes the wreckage to submerge and the others are dunked. After Namor flies them to land nighthawk starts yelling at Hulk. Hulk says he only came to help his friend, Fish-Man. He says he thinks the group is stupid and always has. As they argue Presence and Red Guardian transformed appear before them.

Defenders #55- Hulk charges Presence because it was his fault had to swim in the water. Hulk leaps at him, but is blasted miles away by a blast as strong as a miniature hydrogen bomb. The group fights Presence and Guardian. Nighthawk, thinking the horn will bring Namor's men, accidentally summons the Behemoth from Below. Hulk lands in Moscow, gets up, and leaps back. Hulk sees Bird-Nose is in trouble, and despite their argument Hulk rescues Nighthawk. Hulk knocks out the Behemoth. Presence's radiation emanations cause Hulk to transform back into Banner. Red Guardian breaks free of Presence's control. She says Sergei doesn't love her, only his dream. Presence leaves heartbroken. Bruce says that it looks to him like Nighthawk, Hellcat, and Namor have terminal radiation poisoning.

Defenders #56- Banner and the fallen Defenders are captured by the Soviets. Banner speaks Russian and tells the Soviets that his friends need help. The American consulant gets the Soviets to allow Banner to help his friends. Banner emerses Namor in water and cures him. Hellcat starts to die. Banner saves all three Defenders, and as they thank him Bruce collapses from exhaustion. Banner, Hellcat, and Nighthawk are bartered to be returned to America.

Defenders #57- Hulk and Valkyrie are visiting Clea in Dr. Strange's house when it is attacked by a ship. Hulk leaps at the strange entity that emerges from the ship, but is hit back. The "Warbot" freezes Hulk as he leaps back at him. Warbot takes Hulk onto his ship and leaves with him. The other Defenders come to rescue Hulk. Hulk starts to thaw. AIM is defeated and Hulk stands around with his rescuers.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #222- Hulk is wandering around the upper New York countryside and finds himself in the middle of a small scale war. Hulk destroys several tanks. They send in the planes, but the planes spot two small children near the fight. The children watch with great interest as Hulk smashes. They shoot the gas grenades in so Hulk leaps away. Hulk was somewhat affected by the gas and he collapses near the children. The children have "Billy" carry the Hulk into a cave so the army doesn't get him. When Bruce wakes up in the cave he finds human bones near a cauldron. Bruce has the children tell him the story of how their baby brother drank radioactive waste one day and transformed into large black monster. Billy killed their parents and broughtthem to the cave. When the bell rings the children run off to bed and Billy comes to Bruce. Bruce hulks out. The two battle back and forth until the cave collapses. Outside the children wait for Billy. Hulk makes it out and says he saw no Billy in there, only an ugly monster. Hulk walks off figurig the monster is dead.

Defenders #58- As Dr. Strange loses a fight and his Eye of Agamotto Bruce Banner goes with Valkyrie to visit a friend of hers- Ledge. Dollar Bill shows up and invites Bruce and Valkyrie out to the Felix Club. They get a table near a man and woman arguing. The woman is associated with the guy who stole the Eye of Agamotto, and when she tells the man she has it he stands up revealing himself as Devil-Slayer. Valkyrie rushes up to the woman's defense. As they fight Bruce hulks out. Hulk grabs Devil-Slayer from behind and throws him through a wall. Hulk stands him up, but is wrapped up in Devil-Slayer's cape. Hulk is teleported away. When the police arrive Devil-Slayer and Valkyrie disappear too. In Mexico the guy who stole the Eye meets with his group. They sacrifice someone. Strange watches them begin Xenogenesis, the rebirth of the Demon race.

Defenders #59- When Valkyrie and Devil-Slayer realize they are on the same side they go to find Hulk so they might join forces. Hulk is fighting with a monster, but can't reach it because the dimension keeps switching. Hulk sees "Cape-Man" with Valkyrie, and he leaps at him because he thinks he is stealing Hulk's friend. Hulk disappears into Devil-Slayer's cape again on his way back to Earth. All three come out in Strange's house. Hulk is going to smash Devil-Slayer, but Valkyrie stops him. Strange vouches for Devil-Slayer's intentions. Dr. Strange says he watched Belathauzer, of the Demon race, resurrected among the cult. Nighthawk's machine to test his new wings goes haywire, and Hulk must break it to keep his friend from being hurt. Dr. Strange goes into the demon dimension to look for the Eye. Strange runs into the woman from the restaurant, and the one who spoke to Belathauzer, Vera Gemini who has demonic power. Strange is merged with a demon form. Hulk, Val, Nighthawk, and Hellcat wait to be let in Strange's house. Dollar Bill lets them in.

Defenders #60- The Defenders need to take Strange's body to Mexico to re-unite it with his astral form. Hulk carries Strange's body to Nighthawk's jet plane. In Mexico the demon race is freed. They go about killing the cult that resurrected them. As Hulk and the other Defenders fly to Mexico in "Nighthawk's jet Belathauzer, as his human disguise is an army man, orders their jet shot down. Hulk says he knew soldiers would attack him. Hulk leaps from Nighthawk's jet and destroys the two army jets, but not before they launch two missiles that blow up Nighthawk's jet. On the ground Hulk sees a demon and goes to fight it. Hellcats claw catches Hulk's pants and she goes with him. Nighthawk and Val see Strange's new form. Hulk starts smashing demons until he sees "Cape-Man' fighting them. Hulk says he will smash Cape-Man. Devil-Slayer gets Hulk to chase him. He gets Hulk to collapse an obelisk onto the demon hordes below. Val slays the demon Strange and his astral form returns to his body. Hulk smashes more demons. Vera Gemini's demon form eyeblasts Hulk unconscious. The demons carry Hulk's body. Nighthawk gets the Eye back and Xenogenesis reverses.

Defenders #61- Back at the Defenders base Hellcat displays her new cape she got last issue. Hulk says he doesn't trust cape since it was one Hellcat took off an enemy. Hulk drinks hot chocolate. Hellcat is still goofing around with her cape as she reaches into it and pulls out the monster Hulk was fighting inside Devil-Slayer's cape in Defenders #59. Hulk grabs the cape, but can't find the monster as it went back into the cape. Hulk says he thinks it was a stupid trick. Hellcat says that maybe that is enough for today. Hulk apologizes if he got Cat-Girl is trouble. Later Valkyrie, Dollar Bill, and the others come up with a way to draw Lunatik out in the open. Nighthawk wants Hulk to get inside a statue of Spider-Man, and when Lunatik arrives to destroy it Hulk will leap out and smash him. Hulk says he thinks the plan is stupid. Hulk says he would smash statue, but then his friends would be mad. Hulk leaps away.

Hulk Magazine #10- Hulk stands at the Pacific Ocean and admires its beauty. Admiring beauty gets him thinking about how ugly he is. Hulk leaps to escape beauty, but finds himself among the redwoods. Hulk still finds everything beautiful, and gets so mad he knocks a redwood over. Hulk feels bad after and cries as he walks dejectedly away. Hulk turns into Bruce as he walks. Bruce sleeps and has a nightmare about the Hulk stalking him. Bruce wakes up as a motorcyclist jumps over him and crashes. Bruce meets Dawn Micheals and goes with her on the motorcycle to her cabin. They have breakfast together and Dawn takes Bruce to her job to get him work. Dawn's boss, Mr. Bennings, is worried because one of his workers is a reporter trying to find out something illegal going on. He hires Bruce. Bruce notices armed guards and also thinks it odd that all the workers are so down. After work Bruce stays at Dawn's and flirts. The next day at work Dawn checks a skylight. Bennings thinks Bruce is the reporter and is taken to see the big boss Mr. Wolman. Bruce tells Wolman that he is endangering the workers with radioactive waste the way things are run. The tell Bruce to shut up and work, but figure he isn't the reporter because he wouldn't have confronted them that way. Wolman says to follow Bruce anyway. Dawn takes pictures through the skylight because she is the reporter. Later that night Dawn tells Bruce she is the reporter and show him what she has uncovered. The company spy sees Dawn and Bruce kissing. The next day Bruce keeps watch as Dawn listens in and hears Wolman talking about a drop with some terrorists. Thunder prevents Bruce from warning Dawn as she is being shot at. Bruce hulks out. Hulk smashes the job's machines. Hulk leaves. Wolman, nervous about the drop, tells Bennings to get rid of Banner. Bruce meets up with Dawn later. Bennings knocks out Dawn with a shovel. Bennings manages to knock out Bruce before he changes. Jennings leaves Banner in the mine and dynamites it closed. When Dawn awakens she confronts Bennings and Wolman about where Bruce is. Bennings shoots Dawn. Bruce hears it and hulks out. Hulk jumps out of the mine. As Dawn dies she tells Hulk where they went. Hulk finds them on an oil rig. Hulk destroys the entire rig (and I imagine kills everyone in the process). Hulk buries Dawn.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #226- Hulk hits Samson. Samson tries to explain to Hulk, but when he doesn't listen Samson kicks Hulk across the room. Soldiers come and try to gas Hulk, but when the smoke clears they see that Hulk just held his breath. Hulk claps his hands to get rid of the gas and the soldiers. Hulk attacks Samson again. Ross sneaks up behind Hulk and puts an encephalo-helmet, similar to the one in #200, on his head. The helmet doesn't work, and Hulk rips it off angry. Hulk decides he is leaving. Ross tries to stop him, but Hulk knocks him aside. Hulk jumps out of the building. Hulk stops in Navapo, New Mexico at Banner's Alma mater- Desert State University. Hulk says the green of the trees is friendly, unlike the desert. Hulk remembers fighting Captain Marvel here in Captain Marvel #21. Hulk says he feels memories from before that. Hulk sits on a bench and sees a carving that he did on a tree of his girlfriend's name Sally. Hulk is wearing a DSU sweater, and tells Sally that he loves her. Sally says she loves…Bruce. Sally walks over to Bruce and Hulk gets mad that it was Banner's memory. Back to his shirtless, torn pants self Hulk smashes the bench. Dr. Weller comes up to Hulk and tells Bruce he wants to help him. Hulk shouts that, "Hulk is not Bruce! Hulk is Hulk!" Jim shows up and tells Hulk not to hurt the guy. Hulk grabs Jim and asks why Jim is ordering him around. Weller's chest causes him to collapse. Hulk says he didn't know old man was sick. Hulk stomps the ground. He sees a silhouette. Hulk walks over to smash, but the shape was a statue of Socrates. On the statue are the words "Know thyself". Something about the phrase haunts Hulk. He smashes the statue. Hulk picks up the head and asks, "How can Hulk know the Hulk?" Hulk transforms into Bruce. Bruce sits sobbing cradling the head. Samson puts his hand on Bruce's shoulder and suggests that they find out who Bruce and the Hulk are.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #227- Samson proposes the idea of therapy for the Hulk to Bruce. Samson has a steel reinforced psychiatrist's couch. Samson gives Bruce an injection of gamma-epinephrine, which transforms Bruce into Hulk, but keeps him calm. Samson puts a REM-integrator on Hulk, and then puts one on himself allowing him to join Hulk inside his dreams. Hulk gets up in his dream because he recognizes the place. Hulk walks over to a house and sees a very young Bruce Banner. Young Bruce burns his hand on the radiator. As it happens Hulk grabs his hand. Hulk says he hates this house and destroys it. Next they are transported to a classroom where Bruce makes a big mess in lab. Mr. Woodman yells at Bruce. Hulk tells Mr. Woodman to shut up, and claps his hands. Back in the real world Samson is acting out Hulk's movements. The hand clapping shatters the observation room glass. Next the two find themselves in the desert. A smile comes over Hulk's face as he says that this is where Hulk came to be free. Samson sees that this is the site of the original gamma bomb test. Samson watches as the tale unfolds. When the bomb goes off Samson sees Hulk standing with a limp Bruce Banner in his hands. Rick tries to stop him, but Hulk grabs Rick. The Avengers, Thor, Wasp, Ant-Man, Giant-Man, and both the old and new Iron Man armors, arrive. Hulk crumbles Thor's hammer and tosses him away. Samson says that with each victory Hulk delves further from reality into madness. Hulk smashes the two empty Iron Man suits together. Hulk throws Ant-Man into Giant-man and the Ant into Wasp. Samson points out that the Avengers could have been Hulk's friends. Hulk says he hates friends, but when Samson asks why Crakajack, #2, the guy from Hulk #160, Mogol, and Jarella answer it is because they all die. Hulk says he needs them as they fade. Hulk shouts his rage. Banner shows up behind Hulk. The two hit each other causing an explosion. Samson stands next to the smoking and smashed dream machine and a sleeping Hulk. Samson realizes that Hulk and Banner aren't just two sides of the same coin, but actually two separate beings. A technician comes in with bad news. The gave Hulk to much gamma-epinephrine and the Hulk won't be able to transform into Bruce for a week.

Incredible Hulk annual #7- Hulk demolishes the building he is in saying he wants to leave. Hulk smacks Samson around a bit until Jim Wilson shows up and calms Hulk down. Later Hulk wants to know what all the noise is about as Samson goes flying by his head. Hulk sees Master Mold taking Angel and Master Mold tells him to mind his business. Hulk says that giant robots don't tell him what to do. Hulk hits him, but Master Mold kicks Hulk into a building. Water pours on Hulk's head. Hulk gets up and leaps onto Master Mold's leg. Samson tries to follow, but falls short as the Sentinel flies away. Hulk rips part of Master Mold's leg off. Master Mold passes into outer space. Hulk can't breathe and passes out. Hulk wakes up in a glass container meant for the Blob. Hulk breaks out and proceeds to break open Angel's container. Angel releases Iceman. Hulk sees he is in space, but doesn't care because he has fallen from that height before. Iceman tries to talk to Hulk, but Hulk doesn't want to listen. Hulk makes his way to Master Mold. Hulk plows into Master Mold from behind knocking him down. Hulk starts smashing. Master Mold blasts Hulk and gets up. Hulk pulls the floor up. Hulk leaps at master mold, but leaps right between his hands as Master Mold blasts Hulk with a million volts of energy. Hulk goes down. While Master Mold talks to Iceman and Angel Hulk wakes up. He smashes Master Mold's foot knocking him over. Hulk doesn't stop smashing until master Mold's leg and most of his torso up to his chest are destroyed. Hulk, Iceman, and Angel are all set to leave when Master Mold pops up on a screen saying he just set the fusion reactor to overload. Hulk says he is going back to finishing smashing robot. Hulk closes their capsule and kicks them off. The vacuum pulls Hulk off the ship before it explodes. Angel reminds Hulk of his promise to return to his friends at Gamma Base. Hulk goes.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #228- Samson's misdiagnosis has kept the Hulk around. Hulk stands below a six ton press testing his strength. Samson determines that there is no way to test the limits of Hulk's strength. Samson tells Hulk that he can ease off. Hulk doesn't understand this because Samson told him to fight the machine. Hulk tears the machine apart. Samson and Jim Wilson emerge from the wreckage. Jim keeps Hulk calm by telling Hulk what a good job he did. Samson gets Hulk some franks and beans. Ross yells at some reporters making him look bad. Dr. Karla Sofen is brought in to help. Jim tucks Hulk in to bed. Hulk doesn't care for the bed since he has rarely, if ever, slept in one. Sofen finds the Gammavator components she wants to steal. Hulk gets up, uneasy from the bed, as he walks he sets off an alarm. Sofen transforms to Moonstone. Moonstone phases through the wall, and Hulk thinks he is dreaming. Moonstone, afraid of Hulk, hits him. Hulk freaks. Moonstone realizes that she is letting fear ruin her operation. She finds a way to turn the situation to her advantage. She starts playing the "scared girl" and starts striking Hulk. She tells Hulk everything is his fault. She keeps goading him. Samson arrives outside the building and Dr. Sofen yells out to Samson that she can handle it. She tells Hulk that his doctor, his friends, even his mother hates him. When she tells Hulk that Jarella hated him Hulk breaks a hole through the wall. Moonstone transforms to her Dr. Sofen clothes and goes limp in Hulk's arms. Hulk shouts that he is a monster, and will show everyone how big a monster.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #229- Samson tells Hulk to put Dr. Sofen down, and come down to talk to him. Hulk is confused since "metal-lady" is gone. He decides he might as well listen to Samson. Worried that Hulk might expose her Sofen blasts a gas line. Hulk pushes Samson and Karla back before the gas line explodes. Samson tries to tell Hulk how good he did, but Sofen again blasts Hulk while no one is looking. Hulk thinks he is being tricked and throws Samson. Hulk starts trashing tanks. Moonstone arrives on the scene and starts pretending to be a hero. She fights the Hulk until Samson gets back. Samson tells her to leave, and she listens since there is nobody there to pretend for anymore. After Hulk crushes Samson with a tank Hulk starts going after Moonstone again. Moonstone begins to realize the mistake she made. Thunderbolt Ross arrives on the scene with a gamma-blaster. When Moonstone sees him she loses her concentration and reverts to Karla Sofen. Moonstone realizes that Ross knows. She transforms back and forth between Sofen and Moonstone all the time talking to Ross. Ross, already kinda weary, has a total nervous breakdown. Hulk realizes that Moonstone is hurting Ross with her words. Samson returns and Dr. Sofen yells for help. Samson sees Ross down and calls Hulk a monster. Hulk leaps away.

Defenders #62- Hulk is playing Frisbee with the other Defenders. Nighthawk throws it to Hulk. Hulk throws it so hard he knocks over Valkyrie. Hulk says Frizz-bee is stupid, but apologizes for hitting Val so hard. The moron Dollar Bill tells the Defenders to come in and see the documentary he did on them. Hulk sits on the table and says picture box is stupider than frizz-bee. He says if the show is not good he will smash the picture box. In the show Dollar Bill tells everyone where the Defenders are and that they should all join just by saying they are. The next morning dozens of superheroes are outside their doors. Hulk asks Val if he should smash everyone. Val says no that they are guests. Val grabs Hulk's finger with her hand for him to come help her make coffee for everybody. Val and Hulk go out to serve the coffee. Hulk tells Hellstrom to, "drink Sword-Girl's coffee." Paladin tells Hulk he takes cream and sugar. Hulk's response is, "drink it black!" The moron Torpedo calls Havok, Black Goliath, Iron Fist, and some other lame-o superheroes aside and says that as heroes it is their duty to capture the menace Hulk. Hulk wanders off on his own. He doesn't like so many heroes being around. He wants to smash, but Val says not to. Hulk thinks about leaving, but just then the moron brigade jumps Hulk from the bushes.

Defenders #63- They start piling on Hulk until Hulk knocks them all back shouting that he has had enough! Iron Man arrives and says because of moron Dollar Bill's documentary a group of super-villains have started calling themselves the Defenders and are running amok in Manhattan. Hercules swats all the fighting "Defenders" with a tree and says they must unite against the villains. Hulk says that first funny-dressed humans attack him, and then want him to fight with them. Hulk tells them to fight their own fights and leaps away.

Marvel Two-In-One #46- After the Hulk fell in the Nevada desert Bruce Banner walks through Smallvale. He comes across an appliance store with televisions in the window. The television is playing an episode of the new Hulk TV show. Bruce freaks out. Hulk smashes all the TV's and then goes to Hollywood to find who is making fun of him. Hulk knocks over the guard who already had a run-in with the Thing, and some thugs trying to kidnap Ms. Karen Page, star of the Hulk's show. Hulk starts plowing through sets saying he wants who is responsible for the Hulk show. Hulk charges through the M.A.S.H. studio. Hulk finds the studio head, who is meeting with the Thing, who is trying to get his own show. Hulk figures it's Thing making him look dumb. The two fight across sets and sets. After they demolish the whole studio the studio head says he knows where he went wrong. Hulk says not to make him look stupid or he will be back. Hulk leaps away.

Defenders #67- Hulk is getting a drink in a stream as soldiers catch up to him. They gas Hulk, but Hulk sinks under the water and swims away. Hulk falls down a waterfall. Hulk is mad and decides to go smash soldiers. The soldiers run, but for some reason Hulk's heart stops beating. Hulk falls where nobody can see him. Some guy named Ollerus wants to overthrow Hela to become god of death. Later Nighthawk and Hellcat are killed when Hellcat wrecks Nighthawk's car. They are escorted to Valhalla by Barbara Norriss, in the guise of Valkyrie, who is secretly working for Ollerus. When they get there they find Hulk among the other dead. Ollerus calls them to fight Hela with him.

Defenders #68- The Defenders are conned into siding with Ollerus. Hulk leaps ahead to start smashing. Hulk sees two Sword-Girls. Hulk figures the one in the old clothes is the fake one (though he is wrong). Hulk knocks the true Valkyrie out with a big rock. As Ollerus' forces start dominating it comes out that the Defenders allied themselves with Barbara Norriss. They go to find Valkyrie. The Defenders fight with Harokin's side. Ollerus calls his greatest weapon, and base, a mountain that moves. Valkyrie says they don't have a weapon that defeat the mountain. Hulk says she is wrong. Hulk goes and destroys the entire mountain. Hela sends the mortals whose lives were interrupted by Ollerus back to Earth. Hulk walks down the Rainbow Bridge.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #230- Hulk sits in a corn field eating when he is attacked by a group of farmers and the sheriff. Hulk starts throwing tractors and trucks around. After Hulk sends the farmers running Hulk is picked up by an alien ship. The alien figures that since Hulk is green he has some secret of growing food. Hulk knocks the alien over for bothering him. The alien blasts Hulk with a sedation beam which knocks Hulk out. The alien does research on Hulk. As the alien goes to decipher it the sedation gets the better of Hulk and he changes into Banner. Bruce falls unconscious from the Hulk's large restraints. Banner awakens and looks around. The alien returns to find Bruce, and figures he'll have to dissect Bruce to learn what he needs. Bruce hulks out. Hulk starts pounding the alien. The alien stuns Hulk by throwing him into the teleporter force field. The alien takes a sample of Hulk's fingernail dirt. Hulk wakes up, breaks the ship open, and leaves. The alien learned what he needed from Hulk's fingernail dirt.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #231- Hulk is walking through Gilbert, California when he sees a man thrown from a bar. When Hulk sees it is a soldier attack the man Hulk throws him through the window of the bar. Everybody runs when they see the Hulk. Hulk meets Fred Sloan. Fred tells Hulk to come sleep at his house. Hulk wakes up to Fred's girlfriend cooking scrambled eggs and beans for Fred. She sees Hulk and freaks. Fred tries to calm her down, but she runs out. Hulk tells Fred to have some food, and that the beans are good. Fred's girlfriend calls the cops. Hulk says he will smash the law, but Fred convinces Hulk to ride away in his van with him. Fred tells Hulk to disguise himself under a hat and blanket while he talks his way through a roadblock. The cop sees Hulk so Hulk gets out, smashes the police, throws their cars, and gets back in and tells Fred to drive.

Sensational She-Hulk #29- Hulk is pulled from time by two geeks with a time machine who are arguing over whether the gray or green savage Hulk is stronger. Savage green Hulk charges Fixit. Fixit reverts to Bruce Banner because it is daytime. Hulk picks Banner up and yells at him. She-Hulk grabs Bruce out of Hulk's hands. The geeks realize their error and put the Hulks back to their right time.

Captain America #230- Hulk rides, as Fred Sloan drives, northeast of the Bay Area. Fred tells Hulk he is still a little freaked out by how Hulk destroyed those police cars. Fred tells Hulk to relax. Hulk says Fred's cigarette smoke makes him sleepy. Fred looks out the window to see a police car chasing them. He looks back and sees Bruce Banner sitting next to him. Fred pulls over and tries to talk his way out of it. The "police" are really phonies employed by the Corporation West. They shoot Fred and Bruce with tranquilizers, and load Fred's van into the back of a truck. Captain America, Marvel Man, and the Vamp have traced the Falcon to Alcatraz. They see Falcon chained to a sea gate. They see Bruce Banner strapped to a electro-sleep harness. Curtiss Jackson, head of the Corporation West Coast, wants Jim Wilson. Kligger and Moonstone arrive with Jim Wilson, and Kligger wants Captain America in exchange. Kligger had the Vamp planted with SHIELD. Marvel Man blasts Bruce Banner free. Bruce hulks out. Hulk sees Jim Wilson in danger and starts smashing. Marvel Man tries to direct Hulk, but Hulk remembers Marvel Man from Defenders 62 and 63 where he tried to join the Defenders. Hulk smacks Marvel Man unconscious. Captain America tries to calm Hulk down, but Hulk attacks him too. Kligger distracts Captain America and Hulk grabs Cap in a bearhug. Cap passes out. Kligger then boosts Vamp's power turning her into Animus. Together with Moonstone's blast, Animus' club knocks out Hulk.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #232-Hulk wakes up as Kligger is hitting Jim Wilson. Hulk says he will smash Fat Man. Hulk grabs Moonstone's wrist and throws her into a wall. Animus attacks Hulk from behind with a mindblast. Hulk charges Annie-Muss. As they fight Animus uses her telekinesis to throws rocks at Hulk. She then encases Hulk completely in the concrete of the floor. Hulk shatters his prison. Moonstone runs away. Hulk grabs Animus' club and hits her with it. Hulk crushes the club. Since the club was Animus' power source she reverts back to the Vamp, but in a mindswept, trance-like state. Kligger chooses to die instead of going to jail. Jackson activates machine guns killing Kligger. Marvel Man destroys the gun, but Hulk leaps up to the window where Jackson is. Hulk starts to break through the bazooka proof glass. Jackson's base turns into an escape tube. Hulk breaks the glass and follows the tube down.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #233- Hulk follows the tube out of the passage and into the water. Hulk catches the tube and starts tearing it apart. Jackson jettisons the portion of the tube Hulk destroyed. The piece self-destructs in Hulk's hands. Marvel Man sees the explosion from the surface and goes to investigate. Hulk is really mad now. He starts swimming at Jackson like a torpedo. Jackson fires two torpedoes of his own and runs. First Jackson blows by Quasar on the surface. Then the Hulk leaps past him after Jackson. Jackson docks near his car. He has his goons fire on Hulk as he drives away. Hulk fights the goons, and realizes Jackson got away. Hulk hears beeping and goes to find his new friend Fred Sloan tied up in his own van. Marvel Man shows up to talk to Hulk. He says Hulk is coming with him. He tries to make a big show of his power. Hulk hits him far away. A kid asks Marvel Man what his superhero name is. When he tells the kid everyone laughs at his stupid name. Hulk gets in Fred's van and they go. Later Fred tries to cheer Hulk up about Jackson getting away. Fred pulls into a house, but tells Hulk to wait while he goes to check things out. Fred talks to Trish Starr. Hulk knocks the door off the van saying he is tired of waiting. Hulk recognizes Trish from her association with Nighthawk and the Defenders.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #234- Trish tells Fred about the time that Hulk saved Trish's life in Defenders #41. Hulk says that too many of his friends die. Trish invites them in to eat. In Mexico City Betty and Glenn plan to divorce. As Hulk sits and eats the other members of the commune whisper fight with Fred about him. Hulk sits crunching up the skillet in his hand. Finally Hulk has had enough he stands up and shatters the six-inch thick oak table. Trish tells Hulk to stop. Hulk says, "Then tell Fred's friends to stop talking about the Hulk like he wasn't here! Hulk hates that!" Hulk goes into the next room to get some sleep, but Trish and Fred figure he won't revert to Banner because of his fidgeting sleep. One of the hippies decides to call his contact about the Hulk. The guy contacts the Corporation. When Jackson hears that they found the Hulk he decides to get even with both the Hulk and his other foe Machine Man. The Corporation's goon gas Hulk with a paralysis gas. A guy dressed up as Machine Man comes in and kidnaps Trish Starr. He tells Hulk to come to a place to fight if he wants her back. By the time the effects wear off Hulk is so mad he destroys the entire house with one hand.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #235- Fred hangs onto Hulk's back as he leaps to Central City to find Machine Man. Fred nearly slips off, but Hulk catches him. As Fred checks his map a ranger reports to the Corporation about where Hulk is going. Hulk and Fred arrive at the address "Machine Man" gave. Hulk wants to destroy the house, but Fred thinks that maybe Trish is in there. Hulk knocks the door in. Machine Man arrives home and goes in to find out why the door is open. Hulk knocks Machine Man back out into the street. Hulk leaps at Machine Man, but is pushed back by springs on Machine Man's feet. Dr. Peter Spaulding runs into the house to call for help, but is held at gunpoint by Fred. Fred asks where Trish is. Hulk destroys Machine man and leaves him in pieces. Hulk thinks that maybe Spaulding has Trish. When Hulk walks to the house Machine Man reassembles himself.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #236- Machine Man runs over and hits Hulk with his still disconnected arm. By remote control the arm wraps around Hulk and blasts him. Fred and Spaulding work it out that they've both been set up. Spaulding figures that Hulk is beyond reasoning. Spaulding pulls Fred to his car and they drive away. Hulk thinks Spaulding is taking Fred too. They get to a military base. Hulk leaps after them, but machine Man tackles him from behind. A Corporation employee reports to Jackson via walkie-talkie. Machine Man flies upward, but when Hulk leaps up Machine Man kicks him in the face. Hulk falls through the concrete. Machine Man spots the Corporation's man. He takes him out and while impersonating the man tries to trace the line. Hulk sees wires and recalls the time Thing tried to beat him in Fantastic Four #25. He figures it might beat Machine Man since he isn't as tough as Hulk. Hulk starts electrifying Machine Man. Machine Man grabs Hulk hoping he might drop first. Machine Man notices too late the gas seeping towards them. The electricity explodes the gas.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #237- Machine Man "cancelled the gravity equation" and was blown clear of the explosion. Hulk, apparently, was knocked out. Machine Man carries him away. Machine Man does a probe and tries to find why Hulk is after him. Machine Man sees it and the other events and tragedies of the Hulk's life after Hulk #1. While still connected to Hulk Machine Man spots Jackson with Trish. Hulk awakens with this knowledge. Machine Man wants to help Hulk, but Hulk knocks him away and leaps towards Jackson. Fred, Spaulding, and Kragg call in the Hulkbusters. Hulk leaps towards the Corporation's skyscraper, but lands in a shopping mall. The mall cop pulls a gun, but Hulk crushes it. Hulk leaps away as the mall cop cringes. Jackson sees the Hulk coming. He tries to make it to the copter, but Hulk lands on it. Jackson tries to hold Trish hostage, but Machine Man grabs the gun. Machine Man tries to calm Hulk, but Hulk starts to rip the skyscraper apart. Machine Man grabs Trish and Jackson. Hulk demolishes the whole skyscraper. Hulk emerges angry only to be hypnotized by Machine Man. Machine Man cancels Hulk gravity, and Hulk rockets away.

Incredible Hulk annual #8- Hulk crash lands in the northwestern British Columbia. He hits so hard that he wakes a local woman a mile away in her cabin. She goes out to investigate. She finds Hulk unconscious and face down in the dirt suffocating. She has to dig his face out. The next morning Hulk wakes up and wants to know why girl tried to bury him. She runs but when she twists her ankle she explains she was helping Hulk out. Hulk carries girl to her house. Hulk sits on the girl's floor. She tries to take care of Hulk, but senses the uselessness of it. She puts on some music and goes to make him food. Hulk changes into Bruce Banner while he waits. The woman is stunned to see Bruce, and he has to calm her down. Maureen Mores Friesen, or Mores, has to go out to get her cat. Bruce listens to the radio and hears how the Hulk destroyed the entire town of Central City. When Bruce hears Mores scream he comes running with a gun. He finds her in the hands of Sasquatch. Sasquatch says he would introduce himself more formerly (as Langowski) but with the woman there he says to just call him Sasquatch. Sasquatch tells Bruce how he exposed himself to gamma rays on purpose. Sasquatch then tells Bruce that he is a government agent. Bruce figures he is to be arrested, but Sasquatch says he wants to fight the Hulk. Sasquatch tries pushing Bruce, and then throws him around a bit. The woman hits Sasquatch's leg distracting him. Bruce's shirt rips and he falls down the cliff. Sasquatch is stunned, but Bruce climbs back up as the Hulk. Hulk leaps at Sasquatch when he calls him Banner. Hulk rams Sasquatch into the ground, but Sasquatch kicks him back. Hulk leaps back and punches Sasquatch through a tree. Sasquatch uses the tree to hit Hulk. Sasquatch tries to keep Hulk back with it, but Hulk starts shredding it. Sasquatch hits Hulk with the stump. Hulk starts to dominate, but Hulk misses with the killing blow and starts an avalanche. Sasquatch leaps to protect the woman. Hulk thinks he is attacking her. When they both emerge from the rubble Hulk sees that the woman is scared of him. They stop the fight, and Hulk storms off. Sasquatch tries to apologize to Hulk, but Hulk just yells at him for attacking him and then backhands him away. Hulk leaps away sad that the girl was frightened of him.

Incredible Hulk #238- Hulk walks through a wheat field in Saskatchewan. Hulk comes to a road and follows that. The Hulk walks up to a store and scares a girl and her father. The man drives his truck into Hulk. Hulk picks it up and throws it, but doesn't smash the man because the girl begs him not to. Hulk leaps away. "They who weild power" send out Goldbug after Hulk. The Hulk falls asleep on top of George Washington's head on Mount Rushmore.

Incredible Hulk #239- Hulk is sleeping on Mt Rushmore. They who wield Power's lackey, Goldbug wakes up Hulk with a small laser before the army gets up there. Goldbug uses the confrontation with the soldiers to try and convince Hulk that he is Hulk's friend. Hulk comes aboard Goldbug's ship. When other ships attack, Hulk is convinced to grab hold of two cables to help his new friend. The cables actually paralyze Hulk and allow Goldbug's ship to siphon his energy. They who wield power then cause Goldbug's ship to short circuit since They really want the Hulk. Hulk is freed and jumps from the ship with Goldbug. Hulk gets ready to smash Goldbug when he meets a man who greets Hulk as their savior. When the man mentions "They" Goldbug mutters something about them. Hulk knows that They are his enemy, but decides to pretend like he is going into the trap.

Incredible Hulk #240- The man leads Hulk to and through the city of El Dorado. Betty returns from her divorce from Glen. Hulk is eating when he finally meets They. Prince Rey introduces aged Des and Lann, keeper of the sacred flame. Lann insults Hulk at which point Hulk gets up to smash them, but stops because for some reason he knows Des. Des shows Hulk through a crystal ball that Jarella's body is still in the Gamma Base lab. Hulk freaks and jumps out of the building destroying things. Des continues to taunt Hulk saying that Hulk cannot help Jarella because he doesn't know how to get back to Gamma Base. The frustration ( I guess Hulk forgot that he can always make his way back to New Mexico desert) causes Hulk to weaken and turn back into Bruce. Bruce is later called to the Temple of the Sacred Flame to meet and talk with They. Des tells Banner that the Incas who fled the conquistadors founded El Dorado. These Incas found a series of underground caves in which they discovered the sacred flame. A conflict between Rey and Lann extinguished the flame, but an aged Des emerged from his heritage from the caves to perform magic to reignite the flame. Now only one thing remains to do to bring the flame to its full glory. Just then a mechanical arm grabs Bruce.

Incredible Hulk #241- They plan to use Banner's gamma power to fully restore the flame and then use that flame to conquer the world together. Goldbug awakens in El Dorado and realizes that the city would completely devalue all gold because of it's volume- he takes off to get revenge on Banner. Rey reveals that they have been using super-heroes all along to feed the flame as he plays with pawns designed as heroes and villains (one of the villains being the Earth-Shaker). Rey taunts Banner to get his gamma level up causing him to hulk out. While Rey and Lann work Des prepares a secret mixture. Goldbug overhears the plan. Des ends the Brotherhood of They by trapping Rey and Lann in mechanical claws and drains their life. Des then drinks his elixir and reveals himself to Hulk as Tyrannus. Tyrannus reveals how after the explosion in Fantastic Four #168 that his subterraneans found him an immersed him in the fountain of youth until he was healed. When he was healed he noticed that the waters no longer restored his youth. So Tyrannus used his crystal to find a way to restore his vitality. He found the Sacred Flame. So he set out as Des. -Goldbug tackles Tyrannus, but Tyrannus traps him in a net. Goldbug hits Hulk with his gold encasing. This angers Hulk and Hulk breaks free. Tyrannus uses the flame's defenses against Hulk by shooting him with a laser-blasting Hulk out of the temple. Tyrannus, now symbiotic with the Sacred Flame rises the earth around the temple.

Incredible Hulk #242- Hulk starts smashing Tyrannus' mountain to find it's actually a machine tower. Hulk tries to smash the machine, but finds it unharmed. Tyrannus reveals that the machine was built by the Deviants to withstand a cosmic threat and that Hulk isn't powerful enough to break it. Hulk jumps up the tower to land on Tyrannus, but Tyrannus uses the flames power to erect a force field. Hulk pulls on the field until it snaps. Tyrannus then uses the flame's defenses again. Hulk thinks they're bullets, but when one strikes in the center of Hulk's forehead he discovers that they are really Brain Mines. It causes Hulk's brain to sleep. Tyrannus equips himself with armor from the machine. Wearing the armor allows Tyrannus to extend a giant metallic hand. Goldbug finally works out from under the net, and helps Hulk take off the Brain Mine. Hulk awakens, but Tyrannus grabs Hulk up in his giant hand. Hulk breaks the hand and then rips the arm apart. Tyrannus feels it in his arm. Hulk continues to rip apart the machine and Tyrannus feels the pain. Hulk wonders what will happen to the machine if he hits Tyrannus. Tyrannus merges completely with the flame. Hulk tears the machine apart.

Incredible Hulk #243- Hulk and Goldbug fall to the ground. Tyrannus curses the Hulk as he is losing control, and decides that maybe absorbing the Hulk will help him. Hulk hits the tower. Tyrannus shoots Hulk with his flame. Hulk tears apart the tower freeing the flame that rises up beyond the atmosphere and extinguishes. Hulk gets ready to smash Goldbug, but is reminded of something by Tyrannus' bubble trap. He remembers Jarella's body. Hulk and Goldbug are transported back to New York. Hulk takes off. Glenn Talbot is promoted to colonel and put in charge of Gamma Base.
