Hulk chronology continues....

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #272- Hulk and Bruce alternate back and forth as they fall to the Earth. Bruce sits shivering in the snow recalling the events of Hulk 271. He wonders how he can recall events that happened to the Hulk so clearly. Bruce gets up to find shelter, and spots a cabin. Bruce comes to the cabin, and finds the door ajar. Bruce stumbles in, but has a hard time seeing without any light. Bruce finds a flashlight. When he turns it on he finds a human skeleton on the ground. He turns to find skeletons hanging from the roof. Bruce doesn't realize that despite his racing pulse he hasn't turned into the Hulk, but he did realize that these people were eaten. He goes to leave, but the Wendigo is standing in the doorway. Wendigo grabs Bruce, but he is saved when Sasquatch grabs Wendigo. Sasquatch notices that he just saved Bruce Banner. Wendigo knocks Sasquatch down and pounces. Bruce notices that he hasn't changed yet. Bruce wills the change. Hulk jumps onto Wendigo. He knocks him off Sasquatch. Bruce wonders aloud why he thinks he can take the Wendigo, and realizes it's because he is the Hulk. Bruce is dominating the Wendigo. Wendigo pounces on Bruce and draws blood. Bruce knocks him off. He starts yelling at Wendigo, and momentarily Bruce reverts to his savage persona, "Do you hear me? Hulk will smash!" Sasquatch notices this and calls out to him. He brings him back to his Banner persona. Sasquatch says they need to strike together. Bruce says he was having fun, but understands. Bruce pulls up a tree as Sasquatch already has one. They charge Wendigo from opposite sides. They crush Wendigo making him collapse. Sasquatch is tired and Hulk says he will stand guard. Sasquatch worries about Bruce's enjoyment of his savagery.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #273- Sasquatch ties up the Wendigo, but Bruce says that if Wendigo wakes up he will just smash him again. Bruce says he can do anything now. Bruce tries to explain that it was an accumulation of gamma rays that allowed the change, but then immediately mentions that it is Rick Jones' fondest dream. Canadian Mounties surround Hulk with their guns out. Bruce starts to get angry. Sasquatch tries to calm Bruce saying they're only doing their jobs. Hulk hits Sasquatch and says that "Hairy-Man" acts like his friend. The Mounties open fire on Hulk. Hulk stomps the ground and leaps away. In mid-leap Bruce regains control. Bruce realizes that he is thousands of feet up, and starts to panic thinking he will be killed. Bruce falls to the ground, but thinks it's funny when he is unharmed. He wonders if he can be hurt. Bruce decides he better go tell Betty and Rick he is okay. Bruce is walking as he comes up behind some lumberjacks who are imagining what it would be like to blow the trees over. As one goes to pretend Bruce does blow several trees over. Hulk sneaks away. As payment for his help he takes some clothes. He transforms into Bruce and gets dressed. Bruce walks along until several armed farmers grab him. They realize that Bruce isn't "one of them" and they release him. They say that alien bugs are going to destroy their crops. The aliens return and the farmers start to fight. Bruce turns into the Hulk to help out. The bugs flee to their ship. Hulk leaps aboard and starts wrecking things. Finally the leader of the bugs freeze Hulk. It tells Hulk that they were trying to help Earth by giving them supercrops that would eliminate hunger, but Bruce's rampage ruined everything. The bug transports Hulk back to Earth. Bruce realizes that he has better learn how to use his great power more responsibly.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #274- To help the farmers whose crops were destroyed, but not replenished, Bruce drags thousands of tons of trees behind him to the sawmill. The farmers thank Hulk for helping them since without their crops they might have starved. Hulk thanks them for helping him learn that with great power comes great responsibility…sounds familiar. They invite Bruce to stay with them, but he says that he has to go find his own way. Bruce leaps off. Bruce is marveling at his leaping ability. He accidentally comes down and breaks a bridge that a railroad runs on. Hulk sees the train start to fall. Bruce leaps up and catches the train. The people ask what kind of monster he is. Bruce says he only wanted to help. The people are still afraid. Banner reverts back to savage personality, but only for a moment. Bruce leaps away afraid of what he is doing. Bruce realizes that he must keep a tight rein on his emotions to keep the savage Hulk persona surpressed. Bruce tries to walk across the Canadian-American border as Bruce Banner. The guards start to give him a hard time. They pull their guns and he turns into the Hulk and keeps walking. Bruce comes face to face with soldiers and tanks. Bruce asks if they can't talk this over reasonably. The soldiers freak and start shooting. Bruce walks depressed through the onslaught, but just keeps walking. They realize he isn't fighting and stop. Bruce says he just wants to go home. Bruce starts leaping towards the desert.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #275- Hulk leaps to his desert lab, and finds it abandoned. He is hungry though and goes to get some food. Hulk powers down to Bruce. Bruce sees a readout saying that enough radiation was released to create a hulk. Bruce realizes that Rick probably tried to turn himself into another hulk. Bruce powers up and leaps away. Bruce goes to Gamma Base. He starts to panic, but settles down and finds Rick and Betty. As the Hulk Bruce walks into the room and asks how bad it is. Betty is stunned, but Bruce tells her it will have to wait until Rick is cured. Bruce grabs a gamma ray machine he designed for sapping gamma radiation that he wanted to use to cure himself, but by the time he created it he had been the Hulk for so long that his genetic make-up had been permanently altered. He positions the machine to sap Rick, and then powers down to his human form. Before Bruce can cure Rick though a rumbling shakes the base. Bruce turns to the Hulk to go find out what is happening. Hulk runs into Megalith, a giant stone construct that was designed to fight the Hulk. Jackdaw, who is mentally controlling Megalith elsewhere manages to get in a few shots, but Bruce dominates the fight. He releases the band that holds the head on. Hulk turns to go cure Rick, and tells Betty that he needs her help.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #276- Bruce turns on the machine to cure Rick. Bruce cannot shut the machine off. He rushes to grab Rick before the machine drains not only the gamma rays, but also Rick's life force. Bruce then explains that through all the radiation he absorbed through the last few days had altered him to be able to control the Hulk. Rick is thrilled, but Betty is ticked. She storms off angry that Bruce is now thrilled that being the Hulk. Bruce tries to go after him, but he is halted by Bereet who wants to tell Bruce how happy she is for him. Bruce knocks her aside and says he needs to talk to the woman he loves. Bruce says that Betty must understand. Betty says she does, but she never wants him to be the Hulk. She wants a house and family that won't be ruined whenever a super-villain attacks. Bruce says then he will never become the Hulk again. Suddenly Bruce is cut off by the U-Foes. Betty says it's already starting. Vector blasts Bruce. Vapor surrounds him, X-Ray blasts him, and Ironclad smacks him, but still Bruce doesn't change. Rick comes out and asks what he is waiting for. Bruce powers up and punches Ironclad. Hulk claps dispersing Vapor. Hulk tries to hit Vector with rocks, but Vector keeps repelling them. Suddenly X-Ray blasts Hulk with gamma negative rays. He is forced into his Banner body. Ironclad knocks Bruce down, and Vapor gasses him unconscious. Vector repels Bruce from the ground and carries him away. Bereet frees some of her alien technology to help Bruce.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #277- The U-Foes send out a transmission of them holding an unconscious Bruce Banner. Bereet plans to use her technology to help free Bruce. Betty has taken on a very ugly attitude saying that now that Bruce is happy being the Hulk the world would be better off if the monster died. She starts verbally attacking everyone. Bruce hangs on a energy grid that X-Ray keeps pumping with gamma negative rays so that Bruce cannot change. Bereet's technology comes in and starts fighting with the U-Foes. Betty says to leave Bruce on the grid since it might cure him, but Rick brings up that the U-Foes would have no trouble killing him then. Bereet gets Bruce down. Betty says they should run, but Bruce says he sees no other option than fighting the U-Foes. Bruce powers up. X-Ray comes to blast Hulk with the gamma negative rays again, but his time Hulk wraps X-Ray up in the energy grid neutralizing X-Ray's powers. Hulk throws him aside. Hulk grabs Ironclad and pushes him into Vapor's corrosive gas. She is forced to become an anesthetic gas to soothe him. Hulk turns to Vector. Vector keeps trying to repel the Hulk with objects, but Hulk keeps knocking them away. Bruce finally reaches Vector. He grabs his hands and breaks them.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #278- Hulk, Rick, and Bereet fly in one of her techno-art pieces to New York seeking amnesty for the Hulk. Bereet tries to comfort Hulk saying many will stand by him. She comes on to him, but Betty's rebuff is still too fresh and he pulls away. Soon the Hulk stands in the doorway of the room the Fantastic Four are cleaning in the Baxter Building. Human Torch and Thing immediately attack. Reed stops them telling them to remember that they just saw Bruce Banner in control of the Hulk. Bruce says he has come seeking their help. Later the Hulk stands on the White House lawn with the superhero community and his lawyer Matt Murdock with a signed petition asking that the Hulk be pardoned. Suddenly an alien fleet appears in the sky. The Hulk leaps up to attack them, and everyone admires Hulk's courage. Dr. Strange is captured at one point, but the Hulk frees him. Strange thanks his fellow Defender. Bruce remembers that he is a Defender, but doesn't know if he wants to do that anymore. Suddenly the alien ships disappear. The heroes all lift up the Hulk on their shoulders.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #279- Hulk stands in a car driven by Rick Jones for the parade thrown in Hulk's honor as he has now been pardoned by the president. As Banner walks to the stage he sees Thunderbolt Ross. Ross pretends that he holds no hard feelings for Bruce. Hulk walks onto the stage, and is presented with the Key to New York City. Bruce holds the key over his head. Fantastic Four and Avengers both speak for Hulk. Hulk speaks to the crowd and apologizes for all his past problems. The Thing next presents the Hulk with a ten-ton adamantium statue of the Hulk done by Alicia Masters. Bruce shakes Thing's hand. The Inhumans flash in to honor Hulk, and then flash out. Thor then opens the portal to Asgard, and they cheer the Hulk. Namor comes and brings Atlantean soldiers to honor Hulk, and gives him a conch shell. A long list of people honor Hulk including the Silver Surfer. The Watcher presents Hulk with a Remembrance Crystal picturing all the alien races that Hulk has helped. Hulk says thank you. As Reed Richards wraps things up Bruce sees Betty standing with Doc Samson. When Betty sees that she is recognized she walks away. A group of people surround Hulk to congratulate him.

Contest of Champions #1- out of place- Hulk says that he is going to smash Doc Samson when Doc notices a strange red glow surrounding them. The two disappear. Hulk finds himself in a gigantic room with literally every superhero on Earth. Hulk stands with the Defenders. He mentions that he feels hot as the Human Torch lands behind him. Grandmaster and his mystery opponent arrive and say that they will not release Earth from the suspended animation that they have placed it in unless the heroes of Earth agree to help them play a game. Hulk is not chosen as a pawn for either team.

Contest of Champions #2- out of place- The Grandmaster's team wins the first section, but the Unknown wins the second. Hulk is left to wait with the other heroes who were not chosen.

Contest of Champions #3- out of place- The Grandmaster's team wins the third section. Grandmaster wins the fourth and final section. Hulk is among the heroes as all the pawns are brought back to the arena where Grandmaster is declared the winner. The Unknown is revealed as Death. Grandmaster sacrifices himself to resurrect Collector.

Marvel Two-In-One annual #7

Marvel Two-In-One #96- Hulk winds up fighting the Rhino in the hospital that Thing is trying to recover from the beating Champion gave him in.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #280- Bruce tries to walk out of his hotel room at midnight when he is inundated by a mass of the press. Bruce starts growling, and the press starts to run until they realize that Bruce Banner isn't going to hurt them. Bruce answers questions until, even as the Hulk, he is exhausted. Bruce asks Rick if any of the fan mail is from Betty, but Rick doesn't know. Bereet asks Bruce what he is going to do. Bruce says he isn't sure everything has happened so fast. He wants to get out and relax. Bereet tells him to get dressed. She places Bruce inside her bag where a different dimension is. She walks out and into a cab where she releases Bruce. They go to a restaurant. Bruce says that he wants privacy. The maitre de arranges a big press interview. Bruce freaks out. He powers up, and plows out of the restaurant. Bereet catches up with Hulk, and they go for a walk in the park. Bruce and Bereet return to Bruce's hotel. The man at the desk says Bruce won't be bothered by the press again. When they get up to the room they find it filled with humanoids. Bruce powers up, and starts fighting. Rick and Bereet are taken captive. Dozens of humanoids hold Bruce as one of the humanoids suddenly projects an image of the Leader. Leader says he wants to test his new opposition. He tells Hulk that Rick and Bereet are aboard his ship Omnivac. Leader's humanoids reduce to dust leaving Bruce alone in his room.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #281- Bruce thanks the Avengers for the spaceship, but declines their offer to help him. Bruce says he noticed that he was unable to keep his anger, and strength, up during the fight with the humanoid. Bruce is trailed by ships with lasers. Since the quinjet has no weapons he has to out fly the other ships. Bruce does okay, but the second assault are "jellyfish" that latch onto the ship and electrify it. Bruce powers up. He dives into the atmosphere and burns up the jellyfish. Finally Leader's ship deploys some humanoids. The humanoids start tearing the quinjet, and Bruce is forced to go fight them. One of the humanoids cracks Bruce's helmet. Bruce fights off the humanoids and leaps towards Leader's ship. Bruce realizes that he forgot to hold his breath. When Bruce wakes up the Leader recommends having some of the wine with dinner. Bruce asks what Leader's game is. Leader says he merely wants to test his foe. Leader tries to corrupt the Hulk to join him, but Hulk says that he wants to live in peace on Earth, not rule it. Leader sics his humanoids on Hulk. Bruce does okay until he starts to realize that nothing he is doing is defeating the humanoids. He starts to think how to win, and when he starts thinking he stops getting angry. The humanoids overtake Bruce and he collapses on the floor. Leader pours Bruce's wine over his head. Leader says they are free to go. Leader teleports them back to Bruce's hotel room patio.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #282- Bruce stands in the hotel room as a crew cleans up after the battle from 280. Tony Stark invites Bruce to come stay in Avengers mansion. Stark clears it so Bereet can come as well. Later Bruce is in a maximum-security area with Bereet and Iron Man trying to find Leader's Omnivac. Bereet cops an attitude when Iron Man won't let her film a maximum-security area. She-Hulk walks in as Bereet walks out. Iron Man leaves and Bruce turns the detector on automatic so he can talk to Jen. Bruce says he figured that Jen was probably the She-Hulk, and that it tore him up inside. Jen says she forgave Bruce a long time ago as she enjoys being the She-Hulk. She tells Bruce that they aren't monsters, but people with a great power that can be used for good. Bruce says he knows, but it's hard to remember with everything he has been through. Suddenly a cry of pain and shock brings She-Hulk and Hulk running. The detector starts to print the location of Omnivac. Hulk and She-Hulk find a one armed Arsenal robot holding Jarvis. She-Hulk barrels into Arsenal freeing Jarvis. She tells him to go get back up, but there is no hurry. She-Hulk is knocked back, and Bruce leaps to her aid. Bruce is knocked back too. She-Hulk realizes that he needs a confidence boost. She-Hulk gets hit and goes down. When Bruce sees her out cold he gets angry. Hulk advances on Arsenal despite the robot's attacks. Bruce pounds and pounds on Arsenal until it is in pieces on the floor. She-Hulk tells him he can stop now. Jen tells him to fight with his heart. Iron Man says they know where to find Leader.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #283- Now that they know the Leader's location Hulk, She-Hulk and the others fly into space to Omnivac. When they get there Thor breaks a hole in the ship. Humanoids pour out. Everyone has trouble with the humanoids until Captain Marvel (Photon) discovers an energy form that causes the humanoids to become brittle. When they enter the ship Omnivac, in humanoid form, greets them. Omnivac leads them to the banquet table. Hulk asks where Leader is. Omnivac says that he is out right now, and sits down and starts playing music the Leader composed on an organ. Hulk catches Jackdaw as Omnivac has brutalized her. Omnivac does as he is programmed and reveals all. Leader wants to travel to the dawn of human evolution and alter it to make everyone a gamma person. Hulk starts shaking Omnivac. The Avengers disappear and they are dispersed throughout time. Omnivac wonders why Hulk and She-Hulk didn't disappear. Hulk figures it's because they are gamma, and since Leader would exempt himself he probably exempted them by accident. Hulk rips Omnivac's head off.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #284- She-Hulk pulls up the table the Avengers sat at, and discovers the platform for Leader's time machine. Hulk grabs Omnivac's head. He says that if it doesn't tell them how to find the Avengers they're going to smash all the data banks that give Omnivac sentience. Omnivac indicates that the organ is how the machine works. Bruce has to break Leader's code that allows gamma people to time travel. They get onto the machine and find themselves in World War II. They see Captain America, but aren't sure it's their Cap. Hulk and She-Hulk join the fight and Cap seems to recognize them. They grab Cap and then find themselves in medieval times. Hawkeye is with archers while Iron Man is with the Knights. Hulk and She-Hulk go after Iron Man while Cap gets Hawkeye. Iron Man hits She-Hulk with a repulsor, but Hulk grabs his foot as he tries to leap away. Next they find Thor on a Norse ship. They all go down. She-Hulk deals with Vikings as Hulk tries to get Thor. Thor hits Bruce in the stomach by throwing his hammer at him. Bruce rides the hammer back to Thor. They all find themselves at the beginning of time. Captain Marvel (Photon) stands atop a volcano with the Leader pouring out gamma radiation. The Wasp has already been altered by the gamma. She-Hulk goes to deal with Wasp, and she grabs her in her palm. Hulk and the other Avengers all run at the Leader. Cap banks his shield off the Leader's chest. Leader falls backwards into the volcano. Hulk catches Photon as she almost goes over because she has broken from Leader's trance. The Avengers and Hulk are then brought back into the present to find that Jackdaw reprogrammed Omnivac to bring them out. Wasp then offers Bruce a position on the Avengers.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #285- Banner sits as the Hulk dictating his memoirs. Scott Lang is building a research center for Bruce Banner. Scott asks Bruce why he didn't join up with the Avengers. Bruce says he is tired of fighting and just wants to pick his life up from where it left off. As they attach the power source Land mentions where they bought the power generator: Soulstar. Banner tries to stop them from connecting it, but he is to late. Zzzax emerges from the generator. Bruce doesn't want any innocent lives lost so he transforms into the Hulk. Zzzax remembers Hulk. Banner Hulk leaps and hits Zzzax, but Zzzax shocks him and throws him aside. Bruce tries again, but with the same results. Zzzax goes to feed on humans. Bruce plows into Zzzax and even gets a few shots in, but again is knocked back. Bruce finally figures that he needs to play with his strengths. He grabs the wires from the Soulstar generator and leaps through Zzzax. Bruce then plugs the generator in. Bruce reverses the power flow from receiving energy to the stars to shooting energy into the stars. Zzzax is sent back into space. Scott Lang calls Hulk a hero.

Hulk annual #12- Bruce hangs out in his Northwind Observatory. As Bruce looks through the Gammascope, designed to monitor gamma ray activity in space, he sees something. A beam of gamma shoots from the shy down to the earth. A woman seems to be riding the beam down. Bruce then sees a large ship with red men chasing the green woman. Bruce powers up as he runs to help her. They manage to fight them off, but only until a red beam fires down from the ship and pulls them both aboard. Less than a day later they arrive on Cygnet VII. Bruce now speaks their language. He discovers that the larger red population of the planet persecutes the smaller green because of religious reasons. The woman Bruce fought alongside is a priestess that has foreseen the coming of a green skinned champion. They are brought before the red leaders- the Holy Hierarchy. They say it was bad enough when there was a prophecy, but now that there is a champion they have to show their might. The three leaders blast Bruce and K'rel unconscious. Hulk and K'rel are sent to prison. Bruce only listens to them because they also have K'rel. Hulk rips the bars off his prison when he hears that the greens are "fed to the lions". Hulk is gassed and goes down. The other greens gain hope from Bruce. The next day Bruce is put in the Pit. Bruce defeats the red riders on horses. Next the Draggoths are released. After Bruce defeats them the reds call a halt to the games because they're looking stupid. Bruce is later strapped to the laser table for torture. They want him to say the greens are trying to overthrow the reds. Hulk breaks free and decides it's time to be the greens' champion. The others see Hulk and rise up to fight as well. The greens are unarmed and unskilled so it's Bruce who does most of the fighting. They storm the Holy Hierarchy. K'rel says to kill them, but Bruce says they need not die. Bruce wants to go home so he is sent with a ship with only enough gas to get to Earth. Bruce tells K'rel to teach her people the way of mercy. As Bruce leaves K'rel says, "Mercy?" Bruce realizes that he has long cursed the power of the Hulk, but today he used it for real good. Hulk decides to take one last look at Cygnet VII. He is horrified to see that the world is exactly the same as it was before, but with the greens dominating, torturing, and killing the reds. Bruce cries.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #286- Bruce Banner sits in his Northwind Observatory watching a gamma storm through his Gammascope. The Recordasphere floats up behind Banner and compliments him. Bruce created the Recordasphere for company. Bruce is hit with a gamma surge and knocked from his seat. Bruce powers up before he hits the ground. Bruce says the Gammascope wasn't built with collecting capabilities. The blast was the harbinger of a soldier from the future. Bruce takes the gamma gun and helmet from the man, and he passes out. Bruce wakes the man with food. The guy freaks out and runs back to his helmet and gun. The soldier shoots Bruce with the gamma gun. Suddenly Banner, the soldier, and Sphere are pulled into a time warp to the soldier's time. The soldier is stunned to see his 'Hero of the Day' picture has been plastered over. Bruce figures out, as more people appear that everyone is the enemy. Bruce powers up before he is shot. Bruce now fights with the time traveling soldier, and he tries to explain that everyone can't be his enemy and that the king giving orders in his helmet is wrong. A war-machine arrives. Bruce destroys the war machine, but keeps trying to explain the concept of peace. Hulk is hit by null-charge bombs that render him paralyzed. Hulk is then picked up by a ship. The soldier realizes that he wouldn't have survived without Bruce. Sphere starts lecturing the soldier. Hulk is brought before a giant statue of Kang the conqueror. The statue spouts a recording to kill the enemy. Bruce is strapped to a wheel and spun. Bruce spins with the wheel and dislodges it. The soldier then blows the head off Kang's statue. Bruce destroys the rest of the statue. The soldier tries to tell the others of peace, but they kill him. As Hulk holds the soldier he, the soldier, and Sphere are sent back to Bruce's time.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #287- Hulk sits brooding that man in the future is just as stupid, if not more so, than man today. Hulk buries the Hero of Today. Bruce walks back to Northwind. When he gets there Bruce finds Dr. Katherine Waynesboro, his new research assistant. Bruce powers up into the Hulk so that Kate can see for herself the transformation. Bruce then shows Kate around Northwind, but as they leave Sphere behind it begins getting jealous of Kate. Bruce tells Kate that the primary purpose of their work is to monitor the gamma radiation that rains down upon the earth, and the subtle mutative effects. The Sphere breaks into Kate's room and discovers that she is a SHIELD agent. Banner notices that the gamma activity around the earth is increasing. Kate says that it might create monsters, but then catches herself and tries to apologize. Banner realizes that he was a monster, and might become one again if he loses control. Sphere sees that Banner distrusts Kate now so it doesn't tell him about her being a spy.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #288-Bruce screams as he sits in a dentist's chair. The dentist takes a tooth sample. They discuss the fact that Bruce enjoys immunity to disease and infection- including tooth decay. Bruce powers down and he doesn't feel the pain of the laser anymore. Kate remains behind to "make an appointment" but really talks to the dentist who is also an agent of SHIELD. Sphere overhears. Bruce talks again about the possibility of him reverting to being a monster. Sphere, hoping to get rid of Kate, locks up the steering wheel. The car drives off the road. After the crash Bruce powers up and saves Kate. Bruce leaps with her to his med-lab. Before he gets in though Kate wakes up. She is grateful for Bruce saving her and starts making out with him.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #289- As Bruce sleeps at the gammascope the Sphere confronts Kate about being an agent of SHIELD. It then shows its new ability to shoot lasers. Just then the Abomination smashes through the wall and demands the Hulk. Bruce is stunned as the Sphere starts attacking Abomination. Abomination smacks the thing out of the air destroying it. As the Abomination advances on Bruce Kate shoots him with an ion-disrupter caging him within an ionic field. Bruce then realizes that Kate isn't just his assistant, but his keeper and watcher. Bruce powers up as the Abomination starts to break out of the field. Abomination is afraid of the Hulk, and turns to run, but he sees a giant image of MODOK who tells him to destroy the Hulk. Abomination says that nobody ever hurt him like MODOK did- even the Hulk. Abomination leaps and hits Hulk. Abomination thinks that maybe he can beat Hulk before he can get mad. Abomination is dominating the Hulk until he sees Kate signaling to SHIELD. Bruce gets up and starts pounding on the Abomination until he begs for mercy. Bruce realizes his monstrous actions and shouts, "Maybe nothing's really changed!?" Kate tries to calm Bruce down. Abomination grabs Kate and leaps away. Bruce is buried in the roof. As Bruce designs a gamma tracker to find the Abomination Betty and General Ross arrive. Ross lets it out that he gave the Abomination to MODOK to kill Hulk. Betty believes in Bruce now, and wants to be with him, but Bruce says he isn't sure of his feelings for Kate. The gamma tracker finishes and Bruce leaps away.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #290- Bruce finds the seaside base where Abomination has taken Kate. He runs into MODOK outside the base. MODOK mindblasts the images of Abomination delivering Kate to AIM. MODOK tells Bruce that they are going to use Kate to create a new MODOK. Hulk and MODOK attack the base together. Hulk smashes AIM while MODOK kills them with his mindblasts. As Bruce goes to save Kate MODOK takes the time to mindblast Abomination for his treachery. Bruce opens the door to find AIM saluting Ms. MODOK. MODOK is immediately attracted to Ms. MODOK. MODOK takes Ms. MODOK as his bride. Bruce objects saying that creature is not Kate and shouldn't speak for her. MODOK tells Hulk to watch how he talks about his bride. MODOK blasts Hulk and demands an apology on his knees. Abomination tells Hulk to give in or MODOK will kill him. MODOK says they should give Hulk a preview of his fate. MODOK shoots Abomination with a steady green beam that blasts his atoms apart. Ms. MODOK takes exception with killing and strikes out at MODOK. MODOK blasts her into the machine that created her. Bruce slams MODOK damaging his hoverchair. MODOK blasts him saying he doesn't realize the gift he gives Hulk before he leaves. MODOK blasts a hole in the roof and leaves. Bruce emerges from the rubble to find Kate reforming from the machine. Bruce picks Kate up and leaves.

Defenders #122- Bruce, in Hulk form, arrives at Dr. Strange's house with Namor and the Silver Surfer answering Strange's call from his astral form. Strange says he has sent no messages. Suddenly the elf that has been shooting people for the entire run of the Defenders emerges from behind the drapes and shoots the four of them.

Defenders #123- Hulk and the other Defenders are transported to some strange dimension. Surfer grabs Banner's hand and brings him on his board since he is the only one who cannot fly. The elf people watch as the four are sucked into a vortex. The Defenders finally stop falling as they come to a floating island in the sky. They see the elf waving to them. Namor attacks him, but Hulk and Surfer pull him off because as the elf points out without him they'll never get out of there. The elf leads them to a room where phantoms or reflections of the past, present, and future appear. Bruce guesses that they are at some nexus or dimensional limbo. The elf says he is close, but at least he seems smarter than the guy with the swimming suit and Spock ears. Namor goes to smack him, but Bruce grabs his hand and says to just "hang in there a little longer". Surfer guesses correctly that they are within time itself. The elf says unguided they could be lost literally forever. The elf takes them to a time slide, a type of short cut for time travelling. They follow him down. The elf tells them to brace for landing. The elf shows then the earth in the mid 24th century as a desolate wasteland. He says he hopes they like it because the four of them caused this.

Defenders #124- Namor grabs the elf by the throat and tells him to stop speaking so cryptically. The elf says that this is the Earth in 2387 AD. There is no life anywhere, and in a few years the Earth will break up into rubble. In fact the whole section of space is deserted. Bruce asks about the oceans. The elf snaps his fingers and transports them to the ocean floor completely dry. Strange traps the elf in a bubble and asks, "How?" Suddenly the Defenders are standing before a high podium facing, "The Tribunal" Namor gives them his haughty attitude and the Tribunal causes the Defenders to not exist for a moment. Surfer warns them to tread lightly and that even Galactus speaks of the Tribunal in whispers. Strange asks them to reveal what happened to earth. The Tribunal came across Earth first as a lifeless husk. They then created the elves, thinking them indicative of normal appearance, to go back in time and discover the cause. The elves all shot people into time to decipher if they were the ones responsible, except one elf that was hit by a truck. Each person was not the right one and they were placed back in time, but each person gave them a little information that pointed towards the Defenders being responsible. Namor is incensed. Bruce tries to stop him, but instead he just catches Namor as the Tribunal swats Namor down again. The Tribunal then held the hearing in Defenders #87 and they scanned the brains of those "testifying" and discovered it was the Defenders they were looking for. The placed Luann Bloom, their robot, among them to scan their brains and psychic auras. Next the Tribunal shows what the Defenders do to cause the Earth's destruction. Dr. Strange will soon discover an alien race. Strange discovers they are using humans to cure their sick prince. Strange figures to talk with them about curing their prince and freeing the humans (people who were shot by the elves). They think Strange is an enemy and down him. Strange will contact Surfer, Namor, and Bruce (as he watches a Marx Brothers movie). Strange asks them to bring the ship down, but not to harm anyone. Bruce is blasted, but Surfer catches him. They get inside the ship and make their way to Strange's body. Suddenly they realize that every alien on board has committed suicide.

Defenders #125- Banner wonders if they aren't being shown a lie. The Tribunal submits to Dr. Strange's Eye of Agamatto, which says they're telling the truth. After the suicides the ship self-destructs. The Defenders bury the dead and return the people to their lives. Word of the crew, the ship, and most importantly, the prince's death reaches their home world. The king was forced to pick a new heir, but to do that all evidence of his son's life and death needed to be erased as if he had never existed. He dispatched armies that dispersed gas that, over centuries, killed everything and everybody until the Earth crumbles apart. Hulk and Namor want to go fix the course, but the Tribunal says it is destined to happen. Strange explains that it isn't the event that will cause this, but rather the collective karmas of the four Defenders that bring this situation about. As long as the four of them gather together the event will play out in some fashion. Therefore they should disband the Defenders. As soon as the Defenders understand they are shipped back in time and place to Dr. Strange's house where they were taken. As Beast forms the new Defenders team the old Defenders team shows up. They say that Beast's decision to form a new team was…karma. Hulk and the others all go their separate ways.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #291- Bruce Banner comes to the offices of Marvel Comics seeking some advice from Bill Mantlo or Sal Buscema, but instead he finds Ann Nocenti. He wants to know if he should tell the authorities about General Ross' treason. Ann says that Ross betrayed his uniform, and that Bruce should be true to his uniform as the Incredible Hulk. Bruce decides not to rat on Ross letting him live with his own guilt over his treason.

Marvel Fanfare #47- Bruce Banner rides up with Nick Fury into outer space. They head towards the sensor satellite. Bruce powers up which allows his suit to fit much better. He floats out into space and starts to work on the SHIELD satellite that nobody else wanted to go near because of the amount of gamma radiation it had been hit with. Some junk on the satellite comes to life as Bruce gets there. It jumps into Bruce's suit. Fury reels Bruce in. Later aboard the helicarrier they try to determine the damage done by the organism. Hulk is running an extremely high fever. Hulk seems to be emitting gamma anti-bodies to fight the organism as it attacks Hulk's autonomic nervous system. Hulk wakes up. Hulk tears out of the stasis-field, and plows through the lab. Fury is knocked out as the rampaging Hulk plows through. With Fury unconscious, and Dugan and Jones off-ship Waldo gives the order to get the Hulk off. They opened an air lock and the Hulk flies out, and falls to the ground. A sick Spider-Man investigates the impact. Hulk growls as he emerges from the hole he made. Hulk swings and Spider-Man barely dodges. Spidey spots the organism on Hulk's neck. Hulk throws Spider-Man through a window. Bruce struggles to regain control, but SHIELD flies in and blasts Hulk. Hulk smashes the drone and collapses an abandoned building. Hulk smashes out of the rubble. Hulk starts to sweat and cough eventually Hulk passes out when the organism catches Spider-Man's cold.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #292- Bruce falls asleep on a plane. He has nightmares of a shadow Hulk ripping apart the plane. Bruce wakes up screaming. Kate tries to calm him down, but Bruce just feels that the Savage Hulk is somewhere in his sub-conscious waiting to come out and destroy his life again. Bruce and Kate go to the "Universidad de la Ciudad de Mexico". Professor Hernandez greets Bruce and Kate. He says he hopes Banner will be able to help them feed al their people. He also would like Banner to build a gammascope for them. Hernandez has been using Banner's ideas to create plentiful crops. Bruce is astonished at the speed with which they are allowed to proceed. Professor Hernandez says they must to help the hungry children, but Banner is still worried. Bruce asks why Kate is with him since his self-pity must be annoying. Kate says she resigned from SHIELD because she wants to be with him. They kiss. In the night the Dragon Man escapes from Ringmaster's circus and burns all the gamma irradiated crops. Bruce is actually relieved. He and Kate happen upon the circus. Bruce sits in the stands, but the Ringmaster is aware he is there. He hypnotizes Bruce to come down and transform into the Hulk. Hulk holds an elephant up with one hand. Holding the Hulk in his power frees the Dragon Man. Ringmaster sends Hulk against Dragon Man. They fight until Kate knocks Ringmaster's hat off freeing Bruce. Bruce is devastated that even against his will he became a monster again.

Marvel Superheroes Secret Wars #1- Hulk finds himself aboard a spaceship with a bunch of other heroes. He watches as the stars in the sky are wiped away and a new planet is formed. Hulk listens to the Beyonder. Beyonder tells both heroes and villains to slay their opponents and all their dreams will come true. Both sides are transported to the planet. After some infighting Magneto leaves the heroes' side. Captain America is designated leader. The heroes fight the villains for the first time.

Marvel Superheroes Secret Wars #2- Hulk takes a direct hit from the villains' big weapon. He tries to throw a giant rock, but it is blasted to pieces by their big weapon. Hulk rips the legs of their big weapon apart causing it to topple. Hulk ties up Thunderball, Piledriver, and Bulldozer in the ripped off leg. Hulk carries them to the new heroes' headquarters. Hulk and Reed Richards' use viewscreeens to find Galactus standing on a mountain top.

Marvel Superheroes Secret Wars #3- Hulk informs Captain America that he and She-Hulk have fixed the damage Magneto did last issue. Hulk tells Reed that he misses his woman too. Hulk sits fretting that he is losing his intelligence. He forgets to keep watch for daybreak. Cap wakes up and yells at Hulk for blowing it. He tells Hulk to go sound the alarm. Hulk leaps away, but thinks to himself that Cap better watch how he talks to him. Hulk tries to make up for blowing his job, but is pushed back by a landslide of rocks from the Molecule Man. Hulk puts Cap on his back, and they go to regroup.

Marvel Superheroes Secret Wars #4- As the heroes flee their destroyed base hulk carries an unconscious Spider-Man, She-Hulk, Mister Fantastic, and Ben Grimm. Spidey wakes to tell Hulk danger is coming. Hulk looks up to see a giant hunk of their old base coming at them. Hulk can't drop his four riders. Hawkeye splits it, and Iron Man knocks it away. Then Molecule Man drops a mountain on them. Hulk keeps the mountain off them. While Reed Richards augments Iron Man's suit to get them out he insults Hulk to make him angry. Bruce says that Richards knows he is losing his intellect. Iron Man, fueled by Captain Marvel and Torch blast out of the mountain. When they get out Richards tries to apologize to Hulk, but Bruce says that he figured it out that Reed was just trying to make him stronger. He bitterly informs Reed that he isn't that stupid. They find a city to stay in.

Marvel Superheroes Secret Wars #5- Hulk looks up at Galactus. Galactus has summoned his home, and is making preparations to eat the planet. The heroes oppose Galactus. A "Cat" drops out of Galactus' house and pastes Hulk. It gives Hulk another for good measure.

Marvel Superheroes Secret Wars #6- Hulk sits as She-Hulk asks Cap why they aren't searching for Wasp more. Hulk freaks out and says he wants to smash Magneto, or Doom, or Galactus. He is tired of waiting.

Marvel Superheroes Secret Wars #7- Hulk meets Spider-Woman. Hulk sees the Wrecking Crew drive up in a vehicle and dump out a dead Wasp. Hulk is ticked. Cap cools everyone but She-Hulk down. When they discover She-Hulk is missing Bruce pleads with Cap to let them go find her. Cap says no until he receives a mental message from Professor X that he and the X-Men will watch Galactus.

Marvel Superheroes Secret Wars #8- Hulk leaps towards the villains with Spider-Man on his shoulders. The heroes crashed through the wall. Hulk bursts through an interior wall to find the Enchantress. Enchantress applies her wiles, and Hulk collapses. Later Hulk is with the others as they jail the fallen villains. Hulk is mad at himself for being Enchantress' patsy. Thor tells Hulk not to worry about it- that's what she does. Hulk comes out of a building with Thor. Thor's cape is fixe. Hulk tells Spidey that there is a machine he discovered in there that produces any clothing you think of. Spidey finds the wrong machine and first encounters his symbiotic black suit. Hulk receives Professor X's mental call that Galactus has begun feeding.

Marvel Superheroes Secret Wars #9- Hulk sits on the floor of the ship as they go to fight Galactus. Thor tries to lift Hulk's spirits, but Bruce says he doubts he'll be of any use in the fight since he lost he bestial side. Sure enough in the fight with Galactus Hulk decides he is going to smash Galactus. Galactus uses his eyebeams to floor Hulk, and Torch has to blast Galactus to save Hulk's hide. The heroes fail and Galactus goes up to his ship to eat the planet.

Marvel Superheroes Secret Wars #10- Galactus eats his homeworld, but the power goes to Doom. Captain Marvel goes to see what happened. Hulk, and the others, goes to help her. Hulk, and the others, find Doom missing from his cell. Hulk tries to hold the walls up as Doom battling the Beyonder shakes the foundation. Hulk looks at the monitors and sees the planetwide destruction. Doom appears before the heroes and asks for their aid in defeating the Beyonder. The base starts to come down. The triumphant Dr. Doom appears before the heroes.

Marvel Superheroes Secret Wars #11- Hulk stands before Doom. Molecule Man wants to fight Doom and he uproots the entire ground below the heroes. The heroes go back to their base. Hulk insults Reed Richards. He is getting antsy without anyone to fight. While sleeping Hulk is possessed by the remains of the Beyonder. Hulk gets up and walks into the psychic web of Spider-Woman. Hulk walks through it. Spider-Woman tries to wake Hulk, but Hulk reaches up and transfers the Beyonder's power into her. Hulk is left sleeping on the floor. Spider-Woman trips an alarm and both Hulk and Spider-Woman wake up from their "sleep-walking". Hulk attends a meeting at Doom's tower where Doom tells them he will be benevolent, and restores Kang to life. Hulk attends a meeting where they decide to fight Doom. Once they decide to fight the party is hit by power.

Marvel Superheroes Secret Wars #12- The heroes attack Doom Tower where they have to deal with Klaw's sound creatures and Ultron. Hulk actually dents Ultron. Ultron blasts Hulk's leg knocking him down. Beyonder reclaims his power. Richards says that Hulk's gamma level is way up, and that he would short out the healing machines. Hulk is given a crutch and leg brace. Hawkeye tells Hulk how great Mr. Fantastic is, but Hulk tells Hawkeye to shut up. Reed transfers Hulk back to Earth.

Fantastic Four #266- Susan Richards is in danger of losing bother her second baby and her life. Bruce Banner, Walter Langowski, and Michael Morbius have been called in as experts in radiation. She-Hulk is in the waiting room. Reed believes the danger is from Sue's exposure to radiation from the Negative Zone. Reed mentions that he figures all the experts have been called in, but Langowski says that they should talk to one of his professors- Dr. Octopus.

Fantastic Four #267- Walter tells Reed to put his emotional reaction aside and think about it. Bruce Banner backs up Walter, and changes Reed's mind. When Reed returns with Octopus Bruce tells him they tried to do everything they could, but…the doctor tells Reed that his baby died.

Fantastic Four #268- The doctor comes out and thanks Bruce and the others for their help, but Bruce says that they were completely useless. Bruce says they went so far as to get Doctor Octopus, but in the end nobody could help Sue's baby. Octopus takes this as a personal slight and throws Bruce across the room. Bruce powers up and tells Octopus to try something now. Reed wraps his arms around Bruce. Bruce says that Octopus has to be taken back to jail anyway. Reed says that Bruce doesn't have to do it, and with Bruce having so little control of the Hulk these days he'd rather Bruce not destroy the hospital his wife is in.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #301- Hulk stands before the Crossroads tree. In his mindless rage Hulk knocks the tree down. The Puffball Collective tries to introduce himself, but Hulk smashes him. Hulk breathes in the pieces of the Collective as blows him into one of the dimensional portals. Hulk walks up to one of the portals. This water seems to be a vertical water pool. A tentacle comes out of the portal, grabs Hulk around the neck, and pulls him in. The monster tries to eat the Hulk, but Hulk stuffs its own tentacles into its mouth. The monster hurls Hulk out, but when he returns he finds the Puffball Collective back. Puffball imitates the Hulk's form, but Hulk shows no recognition. The Puffball tries taking the form of Bruce Banner. Hulk smashes the Collective. Hulk sees a portal with scenes of war in a city. He seems to recognize it, and goes to it. Strange watches Hulk sit in the new dimension. He thinks of the fail-safe spell that will return Hulk to the Crossroads if he is unhappy. Hulk awakes on the new dimension to see puny humans. Hulk attacks them, but discovers that they are only puppets. Tanks attack Hulk. Hulk rips off the face of a building, but discovers it is a façade. Hulk throws it at the tanks anyway. Hulk fights the tanks and moves on to the planes. Hulk discovers that the plane is held by strings. Hulk pulls the strings, but something pulls back. Hulk is pulled up by a gigantic purple boy. The boy goes to brag to his friend, but as Hulk realizes that he is in a game he returns to the Crossroads tree.

Web of Spider-Man #7- (side note: this story is written by Peter David)- Peter Parker is having a nightmare when the Hulk smashes through the door of Joe Robertson's office door. Hulk chases Peter as his costume starts to appear on him. Hulk destroys the entire Daily Bugle, but keeps chasing Spider-Man. Hulk throws Spider-Man into a bridge, but finds he breaks through it like paper. Spidey hears someone calling for help. Spider-Man awakens from that nightmare into another nightmare. This one is a re-creation of his origin. When Peter starts to get down on himself the Hulk starts to rise up behind him. Spider-Man says he deserves to be smashed, but dodges at the last second. The two fall headfirst into a sewer. Spidey is called to by Nightmare. Nightmare says that the Hulk is coming for him, and he can't keep running. Hulk throws a chunk of concrete at both of them. Hulk starts chasing Spider-Ma again. Spidey gets away, but as Nightmare is telling Spidey why Hulk is after him Hulk finds them. Nightmare runs with Spider-Man to the end of his realm. Beyond his realm lies a realm where insanity, madness, and depravity cannot be realized with the mind. Hulk comes at them and grabs Nightmare by the neck. Spidey webs Hulk's eyes and knocks him into the realm beyond Nightmare's realm. After Nightmare realizes he is okay he tells Spider-Man is far to valuable to be allowed to leave his realm. Just then the Hulk reaches through from the other side and pulls Nightmare through. Spidey turns his head.

Incredible Hulk annual #13- On a world with gravity much greater that Earth's acid rain pours down on the Hulk. Hulk is pinned under the foot of a T-Rex looking beast. Hulk pounds on the beasts foot, but he causes it no damage. The beast only leaves when it sees the rest of its plant eating family. Unhappy with his weakness Hulk returns to the Crossroads. The Puffball imitates food, but Hulk smashes it as he can sense it isn't real. Hulk enters a portal that looks like it will have food. Hulk sees that there is food on this planet. Hulk uproots a tree. He picks up a purple fruit and eats it. Hulk's mouth burns from poison. He drops down to the water and sticks his head in. Later that night Hulk sits in the rain. He is still feeling ill from the fruit, but as he is still hungry he kills a sloth-like creature to eat. Hulk eats the animal, but he starts to feel ill again until the spiny creature that was on his prey's back attaches to his back. Hulk tries to pull the thing off until the thing tells him that now that they are joined Hulk can eat the fruit. The thing tells Hulk of his descendants, and how they came to become symbiotes. Hulk roams the world for a while. Hulk manages to speak again. Hulk leaps to please his new friend Sym. Sym asks Hulk to climb the highest mountain for him, but first a meeting of the symbiotes is called. The eldest symbiote says that Sym needs to break with Hulk, but Sym refuses. They try to remove him by force, but Sym tells Hulk to leap away. Hulk is worried about his friend, but Sym says he'd rather die than go back to the land animals. They climb the mountain for so long that even the Hulk grows weak from hunger. Sym tells Hulk to turn back, but Hulk says he will get Sym to the top. Hulk wakes in the night to see the stars. He finds that Sym has disconnected himself from the Hulk because the energy he would drain might kill Hulk. Hulk holds Sym up, and before Sym dies he is the first of his species to see the stars. Unhappy after Sym's death Hulk returns to the Crossroads. Hulk returns unintelligent and sad. Puffball makes himself into a bed and Hulk climbs in to sleep.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #302- Hulk rejects the idea of trying another portal, and tries to leap away. Hulk loses all sense of direction and reality off the path of the Crossroads. Hulk falls through time and space. Hulk relives moments from his past (the gray Hulk is pictured). Hulk falls and falls until he lands. When he lands he looks up to see the Crossroads tree. The Puffball appears next to Hulk, but Hulk just smashes him. Puffball realizes that Hulk is hungry, and offers some puff in the shape of food. Hulk snatches it and it eats it, but immediately spits it out. Hulk swings at Puffball. The Puffball holds up a map of the doorways at the Crossroads. By touching each portal on the map Hulk gets a sense of the world. Finally Hulk finds a world where the walls are made of skulls and bones. He sees a green skinned woman crying, and as her tears land they turn into flowers. Puffball shows Hulk the portal. Hulk smacks Puffball away. Puffball tries to go with Hulk, but can't get through the doors. Once Hulk enters the portal he sees a slight green boy standing inside a green triangle with a green rose growing out of it. Hulk can't figure out what the boy is trying to say, but since Hulk senses the boy is no threat he continues on. The boy is excited by Hulk's direction. Hulk finally comes to the city of death. He snarls as he sees the green woman from the map, but lightens as she smiles at him. Suddenly the doors to the city open, and three knights with lances ride at the Hulk. Hulk stands his ground, but is impaled in the shoulder, and knocked down by the lance. The knight gets off his horse and cuts Hulk with his sword. Hulk whimpers from the pain. The knight takes off his helmet revealing his red skin. The knight smacks Hulk around. He then calls a page over that continues to smack Hulk around. The knight goes to kill Hulk, but the green woman asks for clemency and gets it. Hulk is loaded onto a cart and taken to a stable. The boy was trying to conjure a champion. Hulk is chained to a wall. Hulk finds he cannot break the chains. The green woman arrives to change Hulk's bandages. She tells him of how she was taken from her own kingdom and will be forced to wed Maktu, the red knight. She prayed for a champion, but it is clear Hulk can't even defend himself. She sleeps on Hulk's chest and cries. A bouquet of flowers sit on Hulk's arm.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #303- For days and days Hulk pushes the lever around and around that crushes the bones of the Princess' people. Hulk stops to look at his emerald princess, and receives a lash from the whip of the small orange troll. The whip comes again, but Hulk grabs it and pulls the troll to him. Maktu sends a page in to hit the Hulk in the back of the head. When Hulk is down the trolls pile on him, and beat him to floor. The princess brings Hulk a drink of water. The reds laugh. Hulk is whipped to continue his pushing. At the end of the day Hulk is kicked back into his cell by a troll. They toss him a bucket of some gross food. The princess comes to see the Hulk again. She realizes that she has always had, but needed to find the strength to defend herself. The Princess cries tears of anger and makes giant vines that carry her and the Hulk out of his prison towards her city. She stops when she sees her people coming to fight beside her. Hulk leaps down to try and stop the reds from chopping her vines. He does okay until they hit him in the face with a cudgel. The Princess' people don't fight well. Maktu asks what she will cry now. She cries for Hulk and her slain people. The tears fall to become walking trees. The trees kill all the reds. The princess has turned from a little girl into a woman no longer needing protection. Hulk realizes he isn't needed, and so his fail-safe spell activates and returns him to the Crossroads. Puffball puts his arm around Hulk.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #304- The Hulk sits against the Crossroads tree refusing to try another world, and starving to death. Puffball shows Hulk food to try and rouse him. When that doesn't work Puffball smacks Hulk. Hulk starts fighting back. He leaps at Puffball, but Puff was merely hiding a portal to another world. Puffball sees Hulk as his only way out of the Crossroads and doesn't want him to die. On the world Hulk sees fruit growing, but is wary as the fruit from annual #13 nearly killed him. Hulk spots a bulky orange guy eating the fruit. Hulk decides to try and finds it good. Hulk longs to eat flesh, and he looks to find the orange man tossing him a fish from the river. Hulk eats the fish, and has found a new friend. Hulk walks with his new friend for the next few days eating and taking refuge from the storms. One day Hulk's friend is knocked from his path when lightning crumbles the ground beneath him. Hulk leaps down and creates a support to absorb most of the impact and weight. Hulk is happy to see his friend break out of the rubble that had buried him. Suddenly a large ship appears and lands near them. When other large orange creatures get off the ship and blast his friend Hulk goes to help. Hulk is zapped to the ground by a staff. Hulk's friend had been of a warrior people. He showed compassion for the enemy. As punishment he is sentenced to die. After they kill his new friend the other orange men leave. Hulk crawls over and puts a hand on his dead friend. Hulk returns to the Crossroads, but finds himself confronted with the U-Foes.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #305- X-Ray has the Puffball Collective prisoner trying to force him to show them how to get to Earth. Ironclad leaps at Hulk. As Vapor goes to help Ironclad a strange time anomaly causing them all to revert: first to childhood, then as adults, and finally back as super powered beings. Vapor turns into an acidic gas. Hulk's throat burns and he spits out fire on Ironclad. The red hot Ironclad grabs Hulk burning him. As the Hulk screams X-Ray is distracted, and Puffball escapes. Puffball surrounds Iroclad's head. Hulk pounds Ironclad away. Vector unleashes his power distorting the whole Crossroads. Puffball surrounds him, and Vector is forced to repel Puffball. But the distraction allows Hulk to get close enough to hit Vector. X-Ray blasts Hulk. Puffball gets Hulk to duck at the last second sending X-Ray to a world that has beings that feed on radiation. Vapor smothers Hulk. Puffball tells Hulk to leap into a portal that leads to a world with no atmosphere. Hulk's fail safe spell returns him to the Crossroads, but Vapor is stuck there. Ironclad runs at Hulk, but Hulk delivers two stiff blows one to the face and the other to the stomach. Vector repels Hulk towards a portal, but Hulk catches himself. When Ironclad leaps at Hulk Puffball tells Hulk when to dodge. Ironclad sinks on a world made of quicksand. Hulk starts coming towards Vector as Vector tries to repel him. Vector loses balance and falls into a portal where he is forced to use his power to keep debris from hitting him. Puffball says they won to his friend.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #306- The Puffball says it believes there is more to Hulk than savagery. It shows Hulk itself as different stages of Bruce Banner the Hulk is puzzled. Hulk sees the modern Banner and smashes it. Puffball reforms as Hulk, and notes that Hulk hated that last form so much that he is repressing any memory from that form. Puffball is trying to bring Hulk to a level where he can communicate with him. Puffball still wants to escape his exile. Suddenly Klaatu (from Hulk 137) appears at the Crossroads. Hulk leaps onto Klaatu to answer the challenge of territory. Klaatu brushes Hulk off with a finger. Hulk drops to the ground. He uproots the Crossroads tree and throws it at Klaatu. It bounces off Klaatu's face and into his hand. Klaatu walks on and drains Hulk and Puffball as he passes through them. Klaatu disperses his atoms into several of the portals to drain their energy. Xeron and the starship Andromeda appear at the Crossroads. Xeron sees Hulk and goes to see him. Xeron recognizes that Hulk has changed. Captain Cybor, now an all robotic man and masthead of the ship, orders Xeron to bring Hulk aboard. Hulk resists, but Xeron's harpoon, Cybor's eyeblasts, and Klaatu's previous drain leaves Hulk weak. Puffball comes along. Hulk listens to his friend's wish and rows the boat for him. Puffball is not pulled through, and the Hulk roars. Xeron tells him to quiet down, but Hulk doesn't care about Klaatu, only his friend. Hulk gets mad.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #307- Hulk smashes his oar. The other crewmen realize Hulk is ruining their chances and pile on him. Hulk knocks them all off, and breaks the chains that bound him to his station. The others jump on Hulk again, but Hulk smashes the ship. Cybor is linked to the ship and his pain shakes the ship. Xeron misses with his harpoon, and Klaatu gets away. Cybor says to double back to get the Puffball so Hulk will shut up. When Hulk sees Puffball again he actually speaks, "Friend?" Cybor says if he breaks the spell that keeps the Collective in the Crossroads he and the Hulk must agree to serve him loyally. Xeron places a force field around Puffball that keeps him on the ship and allows him to pass through the portal, but leaves the ship unshielded. Cybor spots Klaatu. This time with Hulk's power Xeron manages to get three harpoons into him. Klaatu cannot escape them now, but does hit the unshielded ship. Hulk grabs Puffball and leaps from the destroyed ship. Hulk sees Klaatu's suffering. He pulls the harpoon lines from Klaatu's back. As thanks Klaatu restores Hulk's power to him. Puffball puts his hands on Hulk and they return to the Crossroads.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #308- The Puffball Collective shows Hulk a map of its world. Puffball says they need to communicate with Hulk if they are to get home. The word home triggers thoughts within the Mindless Hulk's head. Puffball tells Hulk of how on his world one of the Puffs released a great evil that then stalked them. What was left fled to the Crossroads, but then found that they couldn't return to their world. Puffball shows Hulk the doorway to his world. Hulk pounds on the door, but can't affect it. The Puffball starts complaining, but Hulk walks back and rips the chains that block the door apart. Hulk and Puffball return to Puffball's world to find it a barren wasteland. Hulk falls asleep and the Puffball calls him a fool and laughs. As Hulk sleeps the Puffball's previous telepathic probings cause the Goblin, the Guardian, and the Glow to awaken in Hulk's mind. Guardian shoots Hulk with an arrow that makes him aware that his "friend" has betrayed him. Hulk awakens just in time to see a demon slash his chest. Goblin tells Hulk to move it, and Hulk manages to dodge the next slash. Guardian shoots Hulk activating his self-preservation. Hulk gets mad, but he is knocked back by the demon anyway. Hulk realizes that his friend was supposed to watch over him, and that since he is gone he must already be dead. Hulk gets very mad and smashes the demon unconscious. Hulk walks away, but the demon awakens and hits Hulk's head with a rock. The demon brutalizes Hulk, and the Puffball laughs. Hulk gets up from his beating to see many demons closing in on him. The Puffball comes out to reveal the truth. The Puffball was a renegade portion of its race. It freed the N'Garai demon to kill the other members. The other Puffs banished the Puffball Collective, and sacrificed themselves to trap the demons in their realm. Hulk breaking the chain undid all that. Hulk starts leaping for the door, but cannot find it. Hulk's fail safe kicks in and he is back at the Crossroads. Hulk leaps to the door, and holds together the two pieces of the chain that he broke. The door reseals. The Hulk can hear the demons killing the Puffball for failing them. Hulk sits by the tree and sees Goblin, Guardian, and Glow.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #309- Hulk sits at the Crossroads struggling to figure out who Goblin, Guardian, and Glow are. Glow says that it seems Hulk is on the road to being complete again. Guardian shoots him with an arrow that helps Hulk remember the past. They ask Hulk what would make him happy. Hulk says he wants to go home. But since they can't get him there they instead lead him to a portal so he can eat and drink. The world is a barren desert storm. Goblin goads him into leaping to check things out, but Guardian wants to return to Crossroads and try again. Hulk leaps and Glow and Guardian lecture Goblin. Hulk lands and finds the Triad again. Hulk keeps going on until Glow and Goblin think that the Hulk is too stupid to act in his own self interest, but Guardian knows better. When another desert storm kicks up Glow and Goblin start yelling at Hulk to go back to the Crossroads. Hulk refuses and stands his ground against the storm. After the storm ends Goblin sees an oasis that Hulk was trying to get to. Everybody eats, drinks, and swims.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #310- Goblin is having a good time as they wade through a swamp. Goblin says that each time Hulk goes to a world he seems to get better. That the Mindless Hulk is acting with an intelligence all his own. Glow suggests that maybe they are there as an act of rebellion from Bruce Banner and the Savage Hulk to keep this new Hulk from gaining control. They finally come to a city surrounded by a stone wall. Hulk growls as he sees a female on a cart who seems to be held prisoner of the others. Goblin keeps saying it is a sacrifice while the others watch. When it is clear that the girl is to be sacrificed Hulk leaps into action. Hulk knocks down the hatchet man and says, "Men will not harm woman." Glow wonders whose mind influenced Hulk. Goblin says it was his own. Suddenly some dead looking riders emerge to claim the master's property. One grabs the woman up while Hulk smashes the others to the ground. The woman's people say that she was their gift to the master. Goblin sums it up saying they are there to assist the Hulk in decisions to help wake his slumbering mind. Guardian notes that Hulk is speaking in his savage Hulk persona. The Triad notice that the dead looking riders have weapons that cause instantaneous death. Guardian shoots Hulk with an arrow of reason. Hulk remembers that he was trying to save the girl. With his head turned Hulk is stabbed with one of the instant death weapons. Hulk says he feels weak. Hulk falls to the ground and changes into Bruce Banner. The Triad disappears, but not before warning Bruce to think, get angry if you need to to survive. Bruce passes out. He is carried inside and tied to a sacrificing table. Bruce wakes to see the woman he tried to save about to sacrifice him.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #311- Bruce thinks about how he could not be dead, and comes to the conclusion that he was so far repressed that he merely thought he was dead. Bruce tries to withdraw himself to reveal the Mindless Hulk again, but he finds Goblin, Guardian, and Glow blocking his path in. When the master sees that it isn't the Hulk about to be sacrificed he stops the execution to find out what's happening. The master introduces himself as Dr. Daniel Decyst, a Scotsman. The drug Decyst gave the woman who was to kill Bruce wears off and she vows revenge. Decyst tells Bruce that he is a doctor of alchemy. Bruce asks if he can turn lead into gold. Decyst says that gold only makes you powerful for as long as you live, but he has become powerful through eternal life. Bruce says he wishes he were dead, but Decyst says he is only upset because he hasn't the time to do all he wants. Decyst tells Bruce how he came to be on this planet, and how the beings there worship him. Decyst says he found immortality in the creatures' blood. He shows Bruce the beings hung upside down and drained of their blood. Decyst pulls a gun when Bruce freaks that the beings are alive when bled. Decyst says he wants the Hulk's blood. Bruce runs because though he longs for death Decyst's draining wouldn't kill him. The woman from before kills Decyst with a knife in the back. Bruce hulks out as he runs from Decyst's warriors. The Triad join Hulk. Hulk tears into the guards until Guardian shoots him with a reason arrow. Hulk remembers he wanted to save the girl, and since the girl is gone he leaps away. Hulk returns to the Crossroads.

Marvel Fanfare #20- The Thing is Dr. Strange's champion against Xandu. Xandu has the Eye of Agamotto and the Ruby of Domination. Thing frees Strange from Xandu's goons, and the two return to Strange's study to find Xandu, the Eye, the Ruby, and Xandu's champion: the Hulk.

Marvel Fanfare #21- Hulk knocks Thing from Strange's study. Xandu's mind control causes Hulk to speak in his Savage persona. Hulk leaps at Thing, but Thing rolls out of the way. The mind control is slowing Hulk down, and it also hinders his strength building rage. Thing starts pulping Hulk. Xandu notices this and frees Hulk from his control. Hulk knows someone has been hitting him, and when he sees Rockman he attacks. Thing stands his ground, but Hulk plows right over him. Thing shocks Hulk by touching a power line to his chest. Hulk gets mad and hits Thing through the ground into the sewer. Hulk comes down after Thing. Thing springs a trap on Hulk. Thing pulls the main support and the entire sewer collapses on Hulk. Thing didn't realize that there was a building above ground, and that too comes down on Hulk. Hulk punches his way out. He grabs Thing and hits him up through the ground. Thing says he has had enough and Strange can go get Namor or Thor. Thing walks out onto a pier, and then jumps in. when Hulk walks out to find him Thing destroys the pier. Strange appears before Thing and tells him he must return to smash the Ruby. Thing "borrows" a cab to drive to Strange's. Hulk gets out of the water and leaps so that he'll land on the cab. Thing dodges him, but Hulk gets the cab on the rebound. Thing crashes the cab, and goes to the top of the building travel by rooftop. Hulk leaps back up. Thing tries fighting, but again Hulk is too strong. Thing sees they are next to Strange's building. Thing gets Hulk to plow him into Strange's study. Thing leaps up and smashes the Ruby. Strange captures Xandu and then places the Hulk in a trance. Strange was supposed to send Thing to New York for a bath and the Hulk to a Utah desert so that he can regain his strength before sending Hulk back to the Crossroads. Strange mixes it up though, and Thing hopes Hulk is enjoying his bath.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #312-The Hulk sits at the Crossroads thinking about how Brian Banner affected Bruce's subconscious. Hulk transforms into Bruce Banner. Bruce thinks about the insanity of his life. The Beyonder has been watching Bruce and the Hulk relive the past. He is curious as to why Bruce forsakes both his intelligence and power in order to embrace despair. Beyonder senses a stream that seeks to take a life. Since Bruce's thoughts dwell on his death Beyonder decides to help Bruce Banner.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #313- Bruce stands at the Crossroads still trying to deal with the idea of being alive after choosing, and thinking himself to be, death. Bruce tries to kill himself by jumping off the Crossroads, but as there is no ground there is no splat. Bruce hulks out. Hulk senses that he is in trouble and starts to climb to safety. Hulk says that he will always survive. Inside Hulk's mind Bruce weeps because he knows Hulk is right. Hulk says he is sick of this place, and wants to go home. Suddenly the beam that the Beyonder noticed and directed towards Hulk strikes him in the middle of the back. Hulk leaps from portal to portal each time failing to sever the line. Hulk stands at the Crossroads and wants to know who did this. As if in answer the spirit of Walter Langowski displaces Bruce Banner and pushes him out of Hulk's body. Bruce wonders if the spirit he saw is trapped within the Hulk. Walter says he wouldn't say trapped, but grateful. Walter tells Hulk how he came to lose his original body and inhabit the Box. Walter tells Bruce that he has girlfriend, Aurora, that he wants to hold with human arms. Walter curses his luck for catching a body that had a mind. Bruce says to keep the body, and maybe in that way he can finally die. Walter says that Bruce is a big hero to sacrifice himself. Bruce tries to tell Walter that he wasn't being heroic just suicidal, but it's too late as Walter has expelled himself from the Hulk. Bruce is pulled kicking and screaming back into the Hulk. Hulk is paralyzed for a moment, and Alpha Flight reels him in.

Alpha Flight #28- Hulk is pulled through the portal and lands on the floor. Aurora asks if it is Walter. Hulk leaps up and plows his fist right through Box's shoulder.

Alpha Flight #29- Puck bounces off the Hulk's back as Box falls over in shock. Puck is left to run around the Hulk as Jefferies tries to repair Box's chest, and Northstar tries to help Aurora who is devastated by the idea that Walter Langowski is gone forever. Hulk finally catches Puck and throws him. Puck manages to catch something to keep himself from being thrown away. Hulk keeps trying to smash Puck. Hulk picks up a machine and throws it. The building partially collapses on Puck. Hulk says that he doesn't like this city, and wants to go to his desert. Heather and Puck try to jump on Hulk's back, but they are shaken off when Hulk starts leaping away. Alpha Flight regroups and goes after the Hulk. They want to get him out of the city before trying to fight him. Hulk is angry that he has leaped, as high as he could, yet didn't see the desert. Hulk is destroying the city when Alpha Flight catches up to him. Puck bounces off Hulk. Aurora and Northstar keep him swinging. Northstar drills Hulk with a hundred rapid-fire punches. Hulk is getting mad. Box steps up and hits Hulk, but Hulk just grabs Box and swings him by the leg into a building. Hulk tears the leg off, but as Roger Bochs has no legs anyway it doesn't bother him. Box gets back up and hits Hulk. Hulk says metal man should stay down when he hits him. Hulk tears Box's other leg off, and throws him at Puck. Aurora shines brightly, but when she touches Northstar their powers cancel out. Hulk claps his hands knocking them out. Heather stands alone, but suddenly Snowbird (who had been separated from the team by teleportation) arrives. She assumes the shape of the Sasquatch. Hulk says he may be white now, but Hulk knows Sasquatch. Hulk hits Snowbird, but then the army shows up. Hulk says he only wanted to go home, and was attacked again. Hulk hits Snowbird with a piece of concrete and leaps away. Snowbird chases after, but when Hulk crosses the border she figures it's out of her jurisdiction.

Avengers: Emperor Doom- Doom takes over the world with mind control. The Hulk serves as Dr. Doom's secret service with Luke Cage. Cage has to stop Hulk from smashing a man that comes to bring Doom news. Hulk is later freed when Doom decides that he doesn't want to rule a mind controlled Earth, but rather one he conquers.

Thor #385- In Mississippi, Hulk sleeps among some trees he knocked down. Some people discussing what could've knocked all the trees down wakes Hulk up. Hulk hits the ground knocking them over. The people say that they've done nothing to him, but Hulk says he needs no excuses and smashes the ground in front of them. Hulk is knocking over a car when Thor finds him. Hulk leaps at Thor. Thor hits Hulk with his hammer, but Hulk's charge continues and says nothing hurts him. Hulk pounds on Thor, but his third punch is blocked by Mjolnir. Thor butts Hulk in the face with it. Thor then winds up and hits Hulk through a line of cars. Hulk uproots rocks at Thor, but Thor blocks them by spinning his hammer. Hulk lifts a car to hit Thor with, but Thor breaks it in half with Mjolnir, and then brings the hammer back up to hit Hulk against a wall. Hulk wipes the blood from his nose and says that Thor isn't strong, his hammer is. Hulk says to throw away the hammer, but Thor refuses. Hulk says Thor is a coward and leaps at Thor knocking him into the road. Thor hammers Hulk into a motel. Hulk emerges from the motel holding a woman upside down by the feet. Hulk says he will smash the girl against the ground if Thor doesn't throw his hammer away. Thor throws the hammer, and Hulk drops the girl. Hulk hits Thor into a store. Hulk leaps into the building and knocks Thor into the paint isle. Hulk hits Thor and the entire building falls over. Thor hits back. The two fight through the street, through a playground, and near some water. Thor kicks Hulk back, but Hulk grabs Thor's cape. He swings Thor around and throws him into a school bus. Thor dodges the bus, and realizes they are endangering others. Hulk doesn't care so Thor hits him. Hulk knocks Thor into another store. Thor knocks Hulk out of the store and onto the train tracks. Hulk picks up an entire train and throws it on Thor. Thor punches Hulk as he breaks out. Hulk is knocked into the oil cars. The cars explode. Hulk walks out on fire and hits Thor. Hulk smacks Thor, and then jumps on his face. Hulk pounds and pounds on Thor asking why Thor won't go down. Thor leaps up saying he is a son of Odin, but is smacked down by another hit. Mjolnir returns. Hulk stops, and Thor asks if Hulk is afraid now. Hulk says he isn't afraid of any man, but then Thor isn't a man. Hulk says he is stronger than Thor, and needs no hammer to smash his enemies. Thor says he doesn't either, and throws it away again. Hulk says that he doesn't care anymore. Hulk says he only fights when he is angry, and now that he isn't angry anymore he leaps away.

Secret Wars II #8- The Beyonder stands in the desert calling out the Hulk. Hulk jumps on Beyonder and says he hears him, but he is there to kill him not to talk to him. Hulk throws Beyonder to the ground and starts pounding on him. Beyonder puts his hand up and stops Hulk cold. Beyonder sees that there is no Bruce Banner inside Hulk anymore. He says Hulk is now an infinity of power with no finite element inside. Beyonder says it's ugly and that it reminds him of someone. Beyonder dismisses Hulk, and Hulk leaps away.

Secret Wars II #9- Like the previous issue this issue illustrates how the story of the Hulk is ignored to mindlessly plug him into a crossover. The Beyonder summons all the heroes to stand against him. For some reason Hulk just stands around and fights nobody. Beyonder sends out the New Mutants under his control to fight the heroes. Cannonball buzzes past Hulk. The Hulk teams up with three of the Avengers he just fought with (Iron Man, Namor, Wonder Man) to stop Cannonball's blast. Hulk and all the other heroes follow Molecule Man into Beyonder's base. They all rush him, but Beyonder brushes them away with one hit. Molecule Man engages Beyonder and the others attack from behind. Beyonder knocks them all away and enters the machine that will make him human. Hulk gets up from the rubble. The heroes decide to destroy the machine and kill the Beyonder. Reed tries to stop them all, but Molecule Man kills Beyonder.

Betty asks Bruce what it is. Bruce says that he is so happy at this moment, and he sees what they could have, but is afraid that someone is going to take it all away.

Comet Man #3- Hulk yells at the army to leave him alone, or he will rip them up. The Hulk is fighting the army when a van from the Bridge carrying Stephen Beckley breaks through the army blockade. The van swerves to avoid the Hulk, but tips over. Hulk rips open the van's side. Hulk shakes the van upside down until Comet Man falls out. Hulk says, "Nice clothes buddy. You a superhero or somethin?" Hulk's grip on Stephen's wrists breaks the manacles that the Bridge had him in. Comet Man says he doesn't want to fight, but Hulk says it's too late for that. Comet Man tries to "pitch thought" into Hulk and calm him down. Comet Man gets too much feedback from Hulk's anger. Comet Man tries to fly away, but Hulk jumps up and grabs his ankle. The two fall to earth. Hulk plows waist deep into the road where Comet Man just bounces off the ground. Hulk picks up a chunk of concrete to hit him with. Comet Man tries to use his energy blasts against Hulk, but they won't work. Comet Man dodges the concrete at the last moment. He jumps over a car. When Hulk hits the car it explodes. Hulk grabs Comet Man. He tries to appeal to Banner, but that just makes Hulk angry. As his ribs start to break and he starts to pass out Comet Man hits Hulk on the nose. Hulk is distracted and Comet Man "pitches thought". He focuses on Banner's agony, and starts to transform Hulk into Banner. A mandroid looking guy comes up behind Hulk and tells Comet Man that they'll take it from here. The guy shocks the Hulk and breaks the effect Comet Man was having. Hulk trashes the guy and leaps away.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #324

Incredible Hulk annual #15- Bruce sneaks into the lab with the nutrient bath to try and separate himself from the gray Hulk. Bruce can't decide if he should recreate the process or not. Bruce starts to feel stress. He pops a tranquilizer even though the transformations have been triggered by the sun, or lack thereof. Later Betty asks Bruce is sure if he wants to go through with this. Bruce says he is going to test the "soup" thoroughly to be sure that it will do what he wants. Suddenly the Abomination crashes through the wall. Abomination/Tyrannus explains to Bruce how Tyrannus' mind came to inhabit the Abomination's body. Abomination/Tyrannus tells Bruce that he will help him separate his mind into the body of Emil Blonsky. Bruce refuses, but Abomination/Tyrannus starts to take Betty to a secret place to blackmail Bruce into helping him. Despite the tranquilizers Bruce changes into the Gray Hulk and hits Abomination/Tyrannus. Abomination/Tyrannus leaps at Hulk and they go crashing through all the floors into the basement. Gray Hulk tries to fight Abomination/Tyrannus, but his power isn't great enough and Abomination/Tyrannus knocks him out. When Bruce wakes up Abomination/Tyrannus is returning from hiding Betty. Abomination/Tyrannus goes about adjusting all the proper dials to make the separation work this time. As Abomination/Tyrannus gets in he tells Banner how to properly run the machine. As the process is working SHIELD enters the lab. Quartermain wants to kill Abomination/Tyrannus in the bath, but Bruce tries to stop him for Betty's sake. Bruce runs outside and changes. The gray Hulk stops SHIELD, but Abomination/Tyrannus emerges with Emil Blonsky under his arm. Tyrannus is still stuck in Abomination's body. Abomination/Tyrannus says that Betty is as good as dead. Gray Hulk attacks, and this time his anger gets so high that he knocks out Abomination/Tyrannus. Hulk changes into Bruce. Emil tells Bruce where Betty is, and Bruce saves her.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #325- Bruce attends Carolyn Parmenter's funeral. Suddenly LaRoquette starts verbally attacking Bruce and Samson. Bruce says he should've realized his equipment wasn't enough to bring the Hulk down. On the ride back Bruce says Rick looks a little green. Betty asks Bruce when SHIELD will leave him be. Bruce says they have to be sure. Bruce tells her to be patient. Bruce reports to SHIELD for bed. They want to watch his night times to see if he changes. Bruce has nightmares about the Hulk. In the morning the power goes out preventing access to Bruce's room. They finally get the power on and Samson and Clay find Bruce's clothes in tatters. Later, Samson and Quartermain opens a door to find a SHIELD agent punching Bruce. Samson objects, but it's merely a test to try and trigger a transformation. SHIELD says it seems as if Bruce is cured of the Hulk. Bruce lies in bed, and thinks he should be happy, but still feels a sense of dread. Suddenly a Hulk comes bursting through the wall from Banner's quarters. They follow the Hulk's tracks, but find Bruce standing in shreds again. Suddenly a Hulk drops out of the sky, grabs Banner, and leaps away.

Incredible Hulk vol., 2 #326- Bruce is being held by the new Hulk as it comes down from a leap. The new Hulk lands and puts Bruce down. The new Hulk changes into Rick Jones. Rick asks Bruce how he endured the pain so long. Rick tells Bruce how he got his powers through the nutrient bath. Rick asks if Bruce has changed at all, which he hadn't. Rick says he is glad then. Bruce and Rick head towards the old desert lab. After a while Rick collapses. Bruce helps him up and continues on their way. Bruce begins to see illusions of his father beating him. Suddenly both see visions of a green and a gray Hulk fighting. As the sun starts to go down Bruce and Rick regain their composure. Bruce and Rick shake hands. Bruce starts to turn into the gray Hulk, and the pressure causes Rick to turn into Rick Hulk. Rick Hulk hits Hulk, but Hulk retaliates by knocking a bunch of rocks into Rick's eyes. Gray Hulk dodges Rick's leap and grabs his ankle. He smashes Rick against the rocks, but gets kicked into the water. Hulk leaps out of the water and knocks Rick into a cliff. Hulk says he is the real Hulk, and knocks Rick out. Hulk says he is the real Hulk, but then gets blasted by Zzzax for the admission. Gray Hulk is transformed into Banner as Zzzax gets ready to fight the recently awakened Rick Hulk.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #327- Ross/Zzzax yells at the Hulk. Being Zzzax causes Ross' mind to cloud. A recently transformed Bruce Banner struggles to his knees. Ross/Zzzax thinks the Rick Jones Hulk is Bruce Banner, and he has come for revenge. Zzzax blasts Rick Hulk over and over. Bruce Banner runs out and says if it's revenge Ross wants to take it out on him. Ross gets confused at this. He decides he doesn't care and blasts both Hulk and Bruce. Ross/Zzzax zaps Rick Hulk into a body of water. Bruce gets Ross/Zzzax to swoop down on him, but Bruce dodges and Rick Hulk splashes Ross/Zzzax with the water. Ross/Zzzax explodes but comes back together. Rick Hulk and Banner leap away. Ross/Zzzax catches up and blasts them from behind. Ross/Zzzax causes a Mobil station to catch on fire. Bruce gets Rick to throw sand on the fire. Ross/Zzzax keeps blasting Rick, and when that doesn't kill him he dives into Rick Hulk and possesses his body. Ross tries to smash Hulk's body into things. Bruce tries to talk to Ross, but Ross bats him away. Being in the Hulk makes it harder for Ross to think and he gets out. Hulk changes back into Rick Jones. Zzzax's consciousness takes control of his body again. He decides to absorb more human minds to drown out Ross'. But as Zzzax goes to consume a mother and her two children the consciousness of Ross breaks through. Banner shows Ross his reflection, and Ross freaks out flying away.
