Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #329- Dr. Banner undergoes test to test the integrity of his molecular structure. He still has control over the transformation. They take Bruce down. Bruce is a little testy when they question him about the new Hulk that took him. Bruce lies and says he doesn't know anything. Betty enters the room and runs to Bruce. She tells Bruce about how Zzzax absorbed Ross' brain. Bruce gets the story from Quartermain. He determines that Rick is still free, and that he'll be going to Bruce's desert lab so Bruce can come help him. Later Bruce leaves as the Hulkbusters enter the room. Bruce tells Betty that he has to go because Rick is the Hulk. Betty collapses as Bruce runs off. She says she won't let him go. Bruce gets a jeep and leaves. The guard tells Quartermain that the tracer on Banner is active. Bruce goes to the lab and finds Rick with the Outcasts. Bruce watches as Rick calmly turns into the Hulk. Suddenly SHIELD appears. Bruce watches as Rick Hulk fights SHIELD off. The Outcasts kick Rick Hulk out because he brought the fight that killed many Outcasts.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #330- Bruce has Rick Hulk pick up an overturned SHIELD vehicle to find Betty beneath. Betty passes out. Bruce gets Rick to leap them to Gamma Base. As soon as they get there the sun comes up, and Rick Hulk turns into Rick. Bruce brings him inside. Later Quatermain wants to know why Bruce was with the new Hulk. Bruce says he was only there to help Rick- that the monster was a coincidence. Later as Bruce is saying goodbye to Rick all the exits to the base trap them inside. Doc Samson has been possessed by a creature that is only a mind. He exists by a parasitic relationship with the body he possesses. Rick turned into the Hulk out of the room, but charges in. The thing figures to possess Betty as a hostage, but Bruce dives in the way. The thing tries for Betty again, but Ross interferes this time. Ross uses up the remnants of his electric powers to fry the creature. Bruce watched Ross realize that he was wrong about him. Ross dies in Betty's arms.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #346- flashback- Hulk asks Quartermain who is going to do the killing of Banner. Quartermain says that he doesn't want that. Hulk asks Quartermain what the difference between him and the Hulk is. The answer: nothing.
