The Rhino
Not much is
known about the grey giant before his career in super-villainy.
Rhino has had several motivations since his change. First was
simply as a work for hire muscle man, or to show his power. Then
after being stuck within his suit for a bit Rhino decided that he
wanted out. But escaping takes money, money to remove the Rhino
suit that was bonded to him. Once he suceeded in getting out of
his suit he realized the danger around him of being normal. So
back in the suit. Rhino is now working to get money to get his
family out of eastern Europe, and to show his power. Some things
never change
Appearances in Chronological Order
Amazing Spider-Man #43- flashback- Rhino was
hired muscle for a group of spies. They used a process of
molecular adhesive to bond the Rhino hide to his body. Once he
had the power however, he ditched his partners.
Spiderman #41- The Rhino charges over a border 
Amazing check point on his way to New York. Rhino
captures Colonel John Jameson, JJ Jameson's son. Spidey tries to
stop Rhino. Rhino is hired enemy agents to kidnap Col Jameson
because of spores within Jameson's body that will transform him
into a superhuman. Spider-Man and Rhino fight. Rhino catching
Spidey a few times, but for the most part Spidey peppers Rhino
with hits, Rhino never really feeling them. Until Spider-Man
wraps his legs around Rhino's head and drives it into the ground.
Rhino is left unconcious and is taken into custody.
Amazing Spiderman #42- Rhino awakens in custody
and attempts to escape. The guards manage to gas him before he
escapes.
Amazing Spiderman #43- Rhino develops an
immunity to the tranquilizers and escapes. Rhino draws Spidey out
to get revenge. Rhino and Spidey tangle again. This time Rhino
gets the upper hand. Rhino starts charging the crowd, distracting
Spidey from the fight. Rhino charges a truck. When the truck
explodes Rhino, figuring Spider-Man to be dead, decides to use
the commotion to make his escape. Rhino goes after the now
hospitalized John Jameson. Spidey jumps in to help again. Rhino
tears right through Spidey's webbing though it still covers his
body.
She-Hulk 2 #30- (within Spider-Man #43)- Rhino
is pulled out of time into a charge on the She-Hulk- he is sent
back without incident

Hulk #157-158- Leader takes over the Rhino's
body, and uses it to attack the Hulk. Leader/Rhino lures Hulk
into chasing him onto a spaceship. Once in space Leader abondens
Rhino's mind. As revenge against both the Rhino and the Hulk
Leader sent the two of them off into another dimension. Rhino
joins up with the villains of that world. Hulk defeats Rhino and
takes him into the ship. Hulk takes off in the ship to go back to
our dimension.

Alpha Flight Special #1- Rhino teams with Eel,
Porcupine, Solaar, Swordsman, and Power Man in Egghead's
Emissaries of Evil in Canada. Egghead shows the team his nuclear
warhead. Rhino asks if this isn't a little overkill, but Egghead
says it isn't when one is taking over the world. Egghead
broadcasts himself saying the nuke will hit New York City unless
he is given the presidency of the United States, and control of
the American army. Egghead doesn't expect to get what he wants.
He tells his guys that he will destroy New York, but when he
targets Los Angeles they will listen to him. Rhino says he is
tired of supertypes beating him stateside. Just then Alpha Flight
arrives. Rhino charges Wolverine and punches him. Wolverine
slices Rhino. Rhino stands in disbelief with his own blood on his
hand. Rhino wants to get Wolverine, but Power Man tells him to go
stop Smart Alec, who is trying to diffuse the nuke. Rhino charges
but is stopped by a guy in an exo-skeleton. Rhino starts to pulp
the guy until one of his teammates has Swordsman hit Rhino in the
head with his blade.
Defenders #42-44-Rhino joins the Emissaries of
Evil. Solarr and Rhino attack the Defenders seeking a jewel, the
Star of Capistan. The Defenders don't have the jewel but are
happy to fight. After fighting for a bit Rhino and Solarr realize
there is no jewel there and leave. Rhino and Solarr inform
Egghead that he made a mistake. Egghead freaks and punishes the
two with the time-stasis tube. Egghead reveals that he found
Rhino wandering in the desert. The gem shows up after the
Emmisaries leave. After his other plan fails Egghead sends Rhino
and Solarr back to get the jewel. Rhino and Solarr decide to
continue following Egghead, but come up against the Red Rajah.
Red Rajah burns out Solarr's night time power source. He then
increases his mass, out manuevers Rhino and knocks him out. The
two are later arrested.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #218- Rhino had weakened a
railroad trestle to cause it to collapse, but Doc Samson braced
the trestle to allow the train to pass. Rhino runs along side the
train. He charges into the train from the side, and knocks the
whole thing off the tracks onto its side. Rhino bursts from a car
with the package his boss sent him for, but he comes face to face
with Doc Samson. Rhino charges right over Samson, and keeps
going. Later Rhino is celebrating in a ghost town. He eats and
drinks thinking how great it is that his boss broke him out of
jail, and that there is no Hulk to stop him according to the
papers. Rhino drops a bottle down a well to symbolize Hulk's
fall, and he waits until he hears the splash. Rhino turns to see
Doc Samson there. Rhino charges at Samson, but Samson leap frogs
over him. Rhino quickly turns and slams into Samson. Samson
pushes a mining cart at Rhino. Rhino barely feels it, but Samson
uses the time to jump on Rhino. Rhino punches Samson into a
barber's chair. Samson spins around and around and jump off into
the Rhino's jaw. Samson goads Rhino by comparing him to the Hulk.
Rhino charges into Samson, and through some rocks. Rhino uses his
horn to flip Samson into a building. Samson gets up and lays into
the Rhino. Dazed the Rhino falls down the same well he dropped
the bottle down.
Marvel Team Up #102- Spidey and Doc Samson
encounter the Rhino. Rhino is after Samson and floors him with a
charge. Samson's powers are being drained leaving him weak. Dr.
Childress, the woman Samson loves, works for AIM. Together
Childress' betrayal and the Rhino's attack floor both Samson and
Spider-Man respectively. Childress and Rhino take Samson, but
leave Spidey for dead. Spidey awakens and helps free Samson from
imprisonment. Samson grabs the Rhino spinning him in the air and
throws him headlong into a rocky wall.
Marvel Two-In-One #96- Seen among a group of
villains intending to harm the thing while he lies in a hospital
bed from the beating the Champion gave him.
Avengers #236-237- Rhino, Blackout, Electro,
and Moonstone are attempting to capture the nuclear research dome
at Project Pegasus. The Lava Men percieved Pegasus' drilling as
an attack, and they attacked back. During the fight, however, the
accidentally freed Blackout, Moonstone, Electro, and Rhino. Rhino
suspects Blackout as a plant. Blackout encases Rhino, but Rhino
gets free and gets ready to smash him when Electro breaks up the
fight. The break out, of course, fails. Rhino goes down when
Spider-Man, who was tagging along with the Avengers, webs up
Rhino's eyes. She-Hulk then lays him out with a sucker punch.
Code of Honor #3- Rhino comes out to loot New
York City while the heroes are away in the Secret Wars.
Thing #24- Rhino is being transfered from
Project Pegasus to a group who is trying to remove his Rhino
skin. The Miracle Man crashes the truck thinking the Rhino will
follow him out of gratitude. The Rhino was hoping to be freed
from the suit, and is angry with Miracle Man. MM hypnotizes Rhino
to knock the bus he was in off the road. thing climbs his way up
to fight the controilled Rhino. Rhino explains to Thing that he
was mesmerized and didn't want to escape. thing believes him
because he too wishes he could stop being a monster. While thing
is tied up by the other hypnotized passengers Rhino charges MM,
but misses. Scourge, killer of lame villains, shoots Miracle Man.
Rhino thinks everyone will assume he did it and runs. Thing who
saw the murderer, manages to stop the Rhino because he doesn't
want to see him blow his chance at becoming normal.
Secret Wars II #7- Part of a colective of
villains Mephisto uses to attack the Beyonder.
Marvel Superheroes 1992 Winter Special- The
Rhino is seen sitting in his cell inside Project: Pegasus.
Avengers: Death Trap- The Vault- Rhino and
Armadillo attempt to stop Venom's plan to break out of the Vault.
Rhino because he wants the Vault's help in removing his Rhino
hide. Klaw and Collector knock the two out. Rhino is later
hynotized as part of a mass collective hypnotizing from Iron Man
manipulating Mentallo's powers.
Amazing Spiderman #280-281- The government
couldn't do much for Rhino so he broke out and joined the
Sinister Syndacate to raise money for a series of illegal
operations. The Syndicate is contracted to attack Spider-Man at
an amusement park, and Silver Sable happens to be there. The two
get to the top of a roller coaster. The Syndicate knocks the
roller coaster over. The Sandman bails the two out. Rhino smashes
Sandman who is then whipped into a whirlwind by Speed Demon.
Spider-Man then nearing unconsciousness decides to win the fight
instead and manages to pound the Rhino unconscious......yeah
right. This is the most bogus win since Spider-Man beat Firelord.
Webspinners: Tales of Spider-Man #17- The
Rhino, along with the other members of the Sinister Syndicate,
helped the rebels of Belgriun overthrow their monarch. Silver
Sable wants Spider-Man to help save the monarch and his
11-year-old daughter. The rebels express their gratitude to
Beetle, the Syndicate's leader. Beetle thinks how he could care
less; he just wants the money. Rhino sits and reads the rebels'
manifesto. Rhino is accidentally knocked of his chair during a
spat. Beetle stops the fight by mentioning the boss being upset
by this. The Rhino, and the others, are being honored in a parade
when Beetle receives a report of uninvited guests. Boomerang hits
Spidey, Rhino charges him, and Hydro-Man encases him in water.
Beetle orders him not to be killed so that he can be questioned.
Spider-Man keeps fighting so Beetle blasts him off the roof.
Rhino compliments Beetle, but thinks the rebels down there will
get creamed. Beetle knows Spider-Man won't hurt innocents. The
Syndicate's boss turns out to be Doctor Octopus.
Webspinners: Tales of Spider-Man #18- Gregari,
the leader of the rebellion, finds Rhino and the other villains,
cleaning out the king's private storeroom of gold bars and
valuables. Doctor Octopus kills the guy. Beetle speaks up, but
when Rhino and the others don't back him up he backs down. The
villains are preparing to depart. Rhino stands outside loading
the helicopter with the gold when Sandman confronts him. They
start the fight. Sandman eventually puts Rhino down when he cuts
off his oxygen supply. The Rhino is unconscious as Spider-Man
defeats Doctor Octopus.
Iron Man #238- 
Rhino breaks out Donny Gill from prison. Rhino gets
Donny to the airport so he can escape, but has to stay to fight
Iron Man. Iron Man notices Rhinmo's weakness is his face is
uncovered. Iron man then causes a fire, and keeps Rhino there
until the smoke inhalation cfauses him to pass out.
Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #378- flashback- It's
Christmas season and Rhino tries to share a fire with some bums,
but they all run from him. Rhino is frustrated because his only
friends are supervillains, and they never want to talk about
"football, or broads, or anything but fighting
superheroes". Rhino decides to go knock over a bank, but
overhears the bums running from the Hulk. He figures if he does
anything the Hulk will paste him. Rhino begs for money, but sees
a Salvation Army Santa Claus. Rhino beats the guy up and takes
his Santa suit. As Bruce, Clay, and Rick walk by Rhino picks up
Clay by the shirt until he "gives". A man from the
department store runs out and asks Rhino to be their Santa. Rhino
is so touched that a tear wells in his eye. Rhino sits down and
breaks the chair. Everyone laughs. On his new chair Rhino is
getting sick of all these kids. One of the kids figures out he is
the Rhino, but Rhino threatens him. Rhino starts yelling at the
kids to go steal what they want instead of whining to him. One
kid tells Rhino that he is a lousy Santa. Rhino says, "Ask
me if I care. Man, I need a drink." The kid pokes Rhino in
the eye. Rhino throws the kid, but the Hulk catches him. Rhino
charges Hulk, but Hulk drops and kicks Rhino into a comic book
store. A woman tries to stop the fight with cookies, but Rhino
hates the Macadamia nuts in them. They fall through the floor,
and Hulk rolls dozens of bowling balls under the Rhino's feet.
When Rhino lands Clay identifies himself as an agent of SHIELD.
Rhino says that's good because he had never killed one of those
before. Hulk punches Rhino off Clay. Rhino charges Hulk and
pierces his stomach with his horn. Rhino is ready to pound Hulk
when a little girl is crying asking why Santa is hurting him.
Rhino and Hulk behave themselves to make the girl happy. Rhino
sits there for all the kids.
Amazing Spiderman #319- Justin Hammer uses the
Rhino and Blacklash to bring in a rogue Scorpion. Rhino defeats
Scorpion and rips off the tail, with all it's improvements, that
Justin Hammer gave Scorpion.
Marvel Superheroes 1992 Summer Special- Working
for JQ Stamp the Rhino holds Mr. Bachus by the neck off the side
of a building. Stamp says he wants to buy Bachus' company. After
Bachus signs the document Rhino drops him in an effort to avoid
the legal battles that Bachus might launch. Rhino opens the door
for his boss and his boss' woman Delilah. Stamp decides he wants
to take over Oracle next. After Namor declines Stamp, Stamp calls
the Rhino to lean on Namor…hard. Rhino bursts in and smacks
Namor to the ground. Namor is quite weak from not being in the
water for quite a while so when he hits Rhino, and Rhino doesn't
feel it, Rhino laughs at "the mighty Namor". Namor gets
Rhino to knock him to the wall with the button that exposes his
pool. After diving into the pool, Namor emerges and smacks Rhino.
Namor knocks Rhino out, and into his pool. Namor takes Rhino to
the police.
Peter Parker The Spectacular Spider-Man #160-
Spidey breaks up a fight between Rhino and the Shocker/Hydro-Man
team. Spidey uses the power of Captain Universe to level all
three at once.
Avengers Spotlight #29- Rhino seen being
escorted back into jail following the events of Acts of Vengence
Spectacular Spider-Man annual #11- Rhino
attempts to rob a bank. Spidey breaks it up. Their fight
stretches out into the street, and down into the subway. Rhino is
defeated as he is knocked back and forth by two trains.
Deadly Foes of Spiderman #1-4- Rhino rejoins
the Sinister Syndicate to earn money to try and fund the removal
of his suit. Rhino intimadates Boomerang to sit down and shut up
at the team meeting. The team sucessfully pulls off it's first
job. They rob the Federal Reserve and defeat Spider-Man. Rhino
stops the others from killing him though because he doesn't want
any accesory to murder charge. The team is celebrating until they
realize that Beetle made arrangements for the money to be paid as
tribute to the Kingpin. Rhino threatens to kill Beetle if he
crosses him again. The team manages to pull another job, and
Rhino prepares to leave (having the money he needs), but Beetle
talks him into one more job to fund his future. Rhino lifts the
team's transportation while Speed Demon fixes it. The team
fails to break Boomerang out of jail. Back at the base Beetle
finds a spider-tracer on Rhino. Rhino panicks and leaves to get
his suit removed. Rhino begins treatments to get his suit off. In
the team's next job Beetle winds up killing the doctor who is
trying to remove Rhino's armor. Rhino comes after the team
beserk. Leila, who is the widow of the Ringer, convinces Rhino to
join her in revenge against the Beetle. Rhino, Boomerang, and
Leila fight Beetle, Hydro-Man, and Speed Demon. Leila catches
Speed Demon in some rings. Boomerang's gas stops Hydro-Man. Rhino
grabs Beetle. The fight breaks up and Rhino leaves. Rhino goes to
Kingpin. Rhino had been working for Kingpin to get Leila and
Beetle against each other. Kingpin sends three of his doctors to
help Rhino. They tell Rhino they couldn't help him, but Rhino
overhears them saying that they could cure him if Kingpin hadn't
secretly told them not to. Rhino kidnaps one of the doc's family.
Rhino gets Spider-Man to help the doc and his family since
Kingpin might want revenge on him. Rhino is bored in his new life
until the Kingpin sends him an mini-exploding box. Rhino realizes
that he wants the excitement and calls Justin Hammer to get
him a new suit.
Amazing Spiderman #344-Back on the scene Rhino attacks
Cardiac and Spider-Man for Justin Hammer. Spidey tries to web
Rhino's eyes only to find the webbing dissolving from a clear
membrane the way Scorpion's suit had. The fight causes damage to
the factory they're in, and Rhino bolts as the place explodes.
Silver Surfer vol. 3 #54- Silver Surfer comes
across Rhino letting the animals out of their cages. Rhino
figures since the world is ending (during Infinity Gauntlet).
Rhino fights Silver Surfer instead of helping collect the
animals. The fight ends as Silver Surfer stops Rhino's charge by
grabbing his horn. Before he can knock him out- a cop shoots one
of the free tigers. Silver says I told you so, but Rhino
questions why it's right to lock up the animals in the first
place to which Surfer has no answer. Surfer brings the tiger back
to life and the two restore the animals to their cages.
Spectacular Spiderman #190-The Rhino is hired
by the Green Goblin II, an imprisoned Harry Osborne, to attack
Peter Parker. Rhino takes the job in order to earn money to get
his family out of eastern Europe. Rhino finds Peter and warns
Peter that he knows all his secrets. Rhino knocks Peter throguh a
fence, and Spider-Man shows up behind Rhino. Spider-Man maintains
the charade that he isn't Peter, but still goes nuts beating on
the Rhino. He throttles the Rhino only to find that Rhino was
paid to shake Parker up claiming that he knew his secret.
Spider-Man then knocks out Rhino and leaves him webbed up.
Spectacular Spiderman Annual #12- Spider-Man
and the New Warrior are investigating a bunch of heroes
disappearing. The Rhino working with Bombshell and Stiletto
attack Spider-Man and Silhouette under the employ of Justin
Hammer.
Web of Spiderman Annual #8- Stiletto, with eyes
webbed, accidentally hits Rhino. Rhino downs Silhouette with a
charge. He picks her up and leaves, but not before Spidey hits
her with a Spider tracer. Rhino, along with the others working
for Hammer attack the New Warriors. The villains retreat and New
Warriors find that the Sphinx is behind it all.
New Warriors Annual #2- The Sphinx is using the
heroes to absorb their powers and make him more powerful. But
Sphinx gets over zealous absorbing people and everybody turns
against him. Speedball causes Sphinx's power drainer to blow up.
Increible Hulk annual #18- Rhino joins a group
of villains who attack the Hulk and Thing in an arm wrestling
match. They go virtually unnoticed as Hulk and Thing's
concentration is total. Rhino's "allies" drop a bomb on
the bar where they all are.
Cage #9- flashback- Pascal, a Guardsman, is
laying down the law to the Rhino and two other villains on the
way to Vault when Animator’s powers go nuts. Cinder kills a
Guardsman, but Pascal kills Cinder for it. Pascal says
they’ll just blame the killings on the Rhino. Pascal starts
to kill the armor-less Rhino, but the other Guardsman protests.
Pascal kills him too. Animator blows all the electric in the
truck blowing it up, but letting the Rhino free.
Cage #9- flashback- Rhino,
without his Rhino suit, gets out of the truck carrying him to
prison. Instead of running Rhino turns to fight the Guardsman
Pascal. Rhino smacks down Pascal. The two Guardsmen in the other
car come out. One flies away with the Rhino suit that augments
Rhino’s powers. Leaving one Guardsman, Pascal down, and the
other two Guardsmen dead. Rhino hurls a staff at the remaining
gas tank. When the tank explodes Rhino gets away.
Cage #9- Rhino knows that his
suit is at the Chicago rail yards. He waits till dark to strike,
but the guard he grabs is really Luke Cage in disguise. Rhino
says he owes Cage one for back in Defenders #42. Rhino punches
Cage through a train car. Rhino is feeling good about himself,
even without his armor, until Cage blasts him with a pipe. Two
Guardsmen (including Pascal) mistake Cage for Rhino and start
laying into him. Rhino emerges inside his Rhino armor. Rhino
swats the Guardsmen into an electrified fence. Cage grabs them
and says he has to answer for the two Guardsmen he killed. Rhino
says he didn’t kill anybody, but came back for his suit and
revenge of Pascal. Rhino asks Pascal if he wants to tell Cage
what really happened. Rhino explains what really happened. Cage
says to come in and tell everyone. Rhino says nobody would
believe him over a Guardsman. Rhino tries to run, but Cage
tackles him. Pascal murders the other Guardsman, by knocking his
head off, and sets up a story that implicates Cage. Rhino hits
Cage from behind, but offers to let him run with him. Cage
declines and Rhino takes off. Cage follows Rhino.
Cage #10- Cage tells three
rowdies with a shotgun to leave an old man alone. The guy shoots
Cage. It doesn’t hurt Cage, but it does wake up the Rhino.
Rhino chases after the guys and smashes their car. Cage tackles
Rhino as the three guys run away. Cage asks if Rhino forgot that
were wanted and on the run. Rhino smacks Cage, and says he is
calling the shots in this partnership. Cage says they will need
more money to run so he tells the Rhino to give him 12 hours.
Rhino says Cage has five hours, but then he is leaving with or
without him. After four hours of waiting Rhino decides to leave.
He figures he might need some hostages. Cage returns and says he
struck a deal to testify against Pascal, and that Rhino need only
serve his original time to get in on the deal. Rhino says he
isn’t going back. He charges Cage, but Cage trips him. Rhino
looks up and is knocked out by the Hulk (who helped Cage realize
he didn’t want to be on the run). Hulk and Cage hand the
Rhino over to the Guardsmen.
Captain America #412- Seen in a crowd of
villains watching Crossbones (who is really Captain America is
disguise) fight the General.
Lethal Foes of Spider-Man #1-4- After Leila,
the widow of the ---- gets out of prison she hires Rhino,
Boomerang, and Vulture to work for her again. The four of them,
Leila now in armor and called Hardshell, break into an atomic
labrotory to steal a nuclear blaster. Rhino knocks through four
feet of concrete to get it. Spider-Man tries to interfere but
Vulture and Leila hold his head and legs while the Rhino charges
into him. They take their weapon and leave. Boomerang and Vulture
fight over the gn and accidentally hits a guy who transfers into
the Stergon. Stergon and Beetle defeat Spider-Man and from there
the series turns into a giant villain free for all with everyone
trying to get the nuclear blaster. Rhino still wants it to get
his family out of the Balkans. Rhino gets the blaster from
Vulture, but is kcocked out with the blaster when Spider-Man and
Swarm bump into him.
Nova2 #10- Rhino
accidentally charges into Nova while trying to escape from a
armored car robbery. For some reason this dazes Rhino who is then
knocked out by Darkhawk.
Secret Defenders #12-14- Rhino is hired, along
with Nitro, Super Skrull, Titanium Man, and Geater, to work for
Thanos. Thanos wants them to get the Oracle of Ancient Knowledge.
The Oracle is a robot with immense knowledge of the universe.
Rhino and the rest fly to the planet of H'aarg's surface. Rhino
crashes through the temple walls. They then fight with the
Brothers of the Oracle. The brothers finally manage to corner the
villains. Rhino makes an escape hole in the wall. They manage to
get into the Oracle's sanctum. Rhino takes out the Oracles giant
robot guardian. Once they capture the Oracle Thanos teleports in
and takes the Oracle with him. Thanos also rigged their ship to
self destruct, and he leaves them there with no way off the
planet. Rhino carries Nitro while the others run from the enraged
Brotherhood. They make it to their destroyed ship. Rhino, Nitro,
and Geatar get in the ship and Titanium Man flies it to outer
space. When Titanium Man ran out of power it seemed hopeless, but
Silver Surfer and Legacy (now Captain Marvel) rescued them.
Surfer flies Rhino back to Earth.
Green Goblin #2- Rhino is the delivery man for
a crime organization paying off a Johnny Dare. They wanted him to
fumble at some key moments of a football game. When the cops
arrive Rhino assumes Dare betrayed him (which he did). Rhino
smashes a police car. Phil Urich, the Green Goblin hero and
nephew to Ben Urich, was there and suits up. Trying to stop him
the Goblin destroys the money which will come out of Rhino's
pocket. Rhino tries to jump up to get him, but is caught in the
air by the horn by the Goblin who flies up high, and drops Rhino
on his head.
Hulk #435- In order to get some extra money
Hulk decides to play baseball disguised as a normal guy. A rival
owner hires the Rhino to hurt "this Danner guy". During
a game the two start fighting.The Hulk wins of course.
Sensational Spider-Man #2- The Rhino attacks
Kaine and Muse as part of "the Great Game". Killing
opponents for money. Spider-Man (I don't know which one) runs
interference when he pushes Muse out of the way of a falling
wall. Kaine and Muse escape in the commotion.
Amazing Spider-Man #409- Rhino catches up to
Kaine and Muse. A bunch of other players get involved as does
Spider-Man again. Rhino knocks Kaine arouind a bit, but in the
end Kaine uses his Spider-Man ability to stick to walls and
instead of climbing the wall he picks up a piece of the wall, and
beats Rhino unconscious with it. Rhino and some others are taken
into custody.
Kazar #5-6- 
After years Rhino's gamma power wears off, he is left
puny and stupid. Parnival Plunder, Kazar's evil brother, charges
him up, and sens him after Kazar. Rhino chaes Kazar until he
thinkks of a better idea. Rhyino pounds on the wall untilthe
ceiling caves in and drops a whale exhibit onto Kazar. Kazar
dodges it. Rhino bats Kazar around some more until his power
wears off again. He powers up again stronger ans smarter than
lastr time. However, with each wear off he grows dumber ands
weaker. Kazar helps Rhino back to Plunder's hideout. Rhino in one
of his intelligent modes stabalizes his powers himself.
Hulk #1/2- Devlin D'angelo outfits the Rhino
with a Mecha-Rhino suit and sends him off against the Hulk. Hulk
of course destroys the armor, and beats the Rhino.
Sensational Spiderman #31- Rhino goes on a
rampage going stir crazy in his suit. With the suit Rhino can
hardly feel anything. Spider-Man helps him out by dropping an
electrical wire into the water Rhino is standing in. Just before
Rhino passes out he thanks Spidey for his help.
Captain America #9-10- Mr. Ranier, a corporate
industrialist, has caught some kind of frenzy that those who live
the American Dream have been contracting. Ranier hires the Rhino
to demolish his own building. He bailed Rhino out after
Spider-Man #31and is paying him $10,000. Cap's new energy shield
manages to stop the Rhino's charge, but Rhino still knocks the
building down on himself and Cap and Sharon Carter. Rhino runs
around banging not realizing that he is using all the oxygen. Cap
give him a couple of well placed punches and levels Rhino.
Nova #1- In a fight with Nova Rhino manages to
punch Nova into orbit. By the time Nova gets back She-Hulkis
fighting Rhino. She-Hulk defeats Rhino and takes him to jail.

Tangled Web: The Thousand #1- Rhino smashes
through a police car when Spider-Man dodges his charge.
Spider-Man says that this is a mistake. Rhino says that mistake
was Spider-Man interfering with his bank job. Rhino says that the
money was for his weekend in Vegas. Spidey clarifies that
fighting him is a mistake for Rhino. Spider-Man points out how
Rhino always loses because of what a dope he is. Rhino charges
again. Spidey dodges and Rhino plows into a building. Spider-Man
shoots a web onto a lamppost and a truck. Spidey calls Rhino out
of the building. Rhino sees Spider-Man on top of the truck. Rhino
throws the truck but Spider-Man jumps off. Rhino is about to
pound on Spider-Man, but Spider-Man reminds Rhino of how he told
him that he was a dope. The truck snaps back on the webbing and
clobbers Rhino. Later Rhino is loaded onto a truck as he wears
special restraints.
Spider-Man’s Tangled Web #5: Flowers for
Rhino- The Rhino bursts through the wall where a gang is holding
the daughter of one of their competitors, Stella Pavlov. Stella
doesn’t know that her father is a criminal. Rhino says that
he is there to take her home. Rhino grabs up Stella and she asks
who he is. Rhino introduces himself and says that he runs through
walls. Rhino looks down at Stella and sees that she is smiling at
him. Rhino looks behind him and sees Spider-Man. Rhino realizes
that Stella is probably smiling at Spider-Man. Rhino runs down
the street and puts Stella in the limo where Romeo is waiting for
her. The limo takes off. Rhino turns around and catches a face
full of webbing. Rhino rips through the webbing angry that
Stella’s smile was for Spider-Man. Rhino charges Spider-Man,
but Spider-Man dodges out of the way and Rhino lands in a big
hole in the wall filled with webbing. Rhino is stuck and the news
crews that were following the story all get coverage of
Rhino’s butt sticking out of the wall. The next day Rhino
sits immobilized in his jail cell as people walk by and make fun
of him. A tear rolls down Rhino’s cheek. A guard comes in
and shows Rhino the front page of his newspaper where his butt is
prominently displayed. Rhino freaks and shatters his restraints.
Rhino goes to the guard that taunted him. The guard says that he
was just having a little joke. Rhino says that the good-looking
guys don’t realize that words hurt. Rhino skewers the guard
with his horn. Later, Rhino goes to the scientist who gave him
his most recent suit. There is a monkey there whose intelligence
they are accelerating. Rhino tells the scientist that he wants
dignity. He says that he wants the hide removed (sigh writers and
editors who don’t know their business). The scientists say
that the process would kill him. The next morning Rhino wakes up
in his basement apartment. He uses pulleys to get off the
concrete enforced bed. He exfoliates his skin with a blowtorch
and puts on some cologne. Rhino drops two hundred dollars on
drinks for girls that don’t care about him. Romeo approaches
Rhino about another job. Rhino says that he is thinking of
retiring. Romeo says that it involves Stella. Rhino perks up.
Romeo takes Rhino to meet Fyodor Rebrov. Fyodor wants Rhino to
protect his daughter now that his enemies know who Stella is.
Romeo says that Rhino has to get rid of the guys currently
guarding Stella. Rhino tears through the guys. Stella is outside
and starts to yell at Rhino. She says that she doesn’t want
anything to do with her father or his henchmen. Stella asks Rhino
if he knows why they chose him to guard her. She says that it is
because Rhino is even stupider than he looks. She says that her
father is paranoid and knows that Rhino is too stupid to double
cross him and that Romeo is in love with her and knows that Rhino
is so ugly that he is no threat to him. Stella tells Rhino to hit
her for insulting him. Rhino says that he doesn’t want to
hit her. Stella tries to apologize, but Rhino turns away and says
that she doesn’t have to apologize because she is right
about him. Rhino goes and runs through some buildings, but it
doesn’t cheer him up. Rhino goes to the scientists again and
has them to do him what they did to the monkey to make it
smarter.
