Jason McCall had been embezzling money from the donations box. Those in a
position to notice the discrepancies did and were coming to investigate the
problem. Father McCall was being eaten alive by the guilt. He did what comes
naturally to him... he prayed to God for forgiveness. He would confess his
transgressions to his superiors and be free of the guilt.... or he would have
had the town not blown up. Father McCall gained what he always subconsciously
wanted... a direct link to God... or at least he believed so. Leader described
Soul Man's might as bordering on omnipotence and all he had to do was slice a
fraction of it off for himself. Both the Leader and Soul Man died before he was
given that chance.
