When Ionic People Attack!
The first battle between two Ionic People took place shortly after Wonder Man's first rebirth in Avengers #164. Power Man was disgraced after losing his stupid name to Luke Cage in a fight. Count Nefaria told Power Man that he would boost his power for him, and he did, but the boost only lasted one hour and then Power Man collapsed on the ground under the heavy weight he was trying to lift.
WINNER: No real winner here unless you count Count Nefaria, but Power Man handled Wonder Man with his power boost while it lasted. Score 0-0
Wonder Man vs. Count Nefaria I
Avengers #165-166- Not a real strong showing from Wonder Man on this fight either. Wonder Man got his shots in here and there, but generally Count Nefaria smacked Wonder Man around at will. No real shame in that though as Nefaria fought the entire Avengers team himself.
WINNER: Individually Nefaria beat Wonder Man, but of course he doesn't win the war. Score: Nefaria 1, Willaims 0
Iron Man Annual #7- After Erik Josten's powers were restored by Dr. Karl Malus, coupled with a helping of Pym Particles, he became quite a force as Goliath. He was defeating Avengers left and right. The ionic fight started when Wonder Man flew at Goliath. The fight ended when Goliath swatted him to the ground unconscious. Wonder Man rejoins the fight later, but it is Goliath beating himself as he tries to grow to 200 feet and knocks himself out.

Wonder Man vs. Erik Josten III
West Coast Avengers Vol 2 #1- Another not very great showing by the original man of ions. Although he did manage to survive the first hit, and even return a punch, after M'Baku tripped Wonder Man Goliath knocked Wonder Man unconscious as he drives him into the ground. Goliath picks up Wonder Man and carries him away as Ultron flies them both from the scene. Goliath is captured later by the other members of the West Coast Avengers (and frankly it doesn't make much sense the way it happened, but what are you gonna do?)

Wonder Man #1- Goliath was a little tired of always being a loser. Even though he is ahead in the versus ratio of Wonder Man/Goliath fights, he was still a poor nobody, and Simon Williams was a Hollywood actor. Goliath wanted to have Simon's life. Early in the isue Goliath attacks Wonder Man. He is beating Wonder Man when his agent called. His agent tells him to leave the fight, and so Goliath shrinks down and leaves. Later they are fighting again. This time the two of the trade blows back and forth until Wonder Man gets an idea. he flies inside Goliath's mouth and cuts off his oxygen. Goliath collapses.

Wonder Man #11- Angkor's powers were made possible because of Wonder Man's unstable powers. Wonder Man's powers were in flux at the time, and when he started to doubt his powers they would decrease. Angkor, in his human identity was a Buddist monk. He had the ability to project images. When Angkor projected his hatred over the atrocities committed upon his Cambodian countrymen to Wonder Man, Wonder Man's powers dipped and Angkor's powers increased. Angkor knocked out Wonder Man, and then went out to "even the scales" by killing a number of American people.
WINNER: Angkor; Score: Angkor 1, Wonder Man 0
Wonder Man #12- Wonder Man realizes how Angkor's powers work, and makes sure to get angrier and angrier. Wonder Man keeps pumping his power higher and higher and Angkor's power starts to get out of control. Eventually Angkor simplys explodes from the amount of ionic energy that he is absorbing off Wonder Man.
WINNER: Wonder Man; Score: Wonder Man 1, Angkor 1 (but the last win counts more)
Wonder Man #25- Goliath joins up with Black Talon and M'Baku to attack Wonder Man (who has the Beast with him). Wonder Man has started to glean the full extent of his powers, and he grows right along with Goliath. Goliath freaks out because only he is supposed to be able to do that. Goliath keeps getting bigger and bigger until his cells are held together so loosely that he simply disperses.
