#1 BECOMES ATLAS
Hulk #449-The Thunderbolts confront the Hulk. Hulk pretty much beats them down. Atlas stands toe to toe with the Hulk for about a second until Hulk picks him up and throws him. Then in accordance with Hulk's new policy "You mess with me, I mess with you worse" Hulk breaks the nearby town's dam. The Bolts work to save the town.
Tales of the Marvel Universe #1-Seen rescuing people from a burning building
Thunderbolts Annual #1-Atlas and the other T-Bolts are training when Jolt questions Citizen V how the Thunderbolts formed as a team.
Heroes for Hire #7-The team is summoned by Jim Hammond,
the original Human Torch, to defeat the Super-Adaptoid. When
Atlas hits the Super-Adaptoid it imitates his powers as Goliath.
Atlas and Luke Cage double punch the Super-Adaptoid. Atlas jokes
with Cage calling him "Power Man" (the name Cage won
when he defeated Josten way back in Power Man #21). Cage asks him
not to call him that recalling how he had to beat some
"dork" to keep the name.
Hulk #459-(Behind the Scenes)-The Thunderbolts are credited on the radio for helping to contain the mess from the Hulk/Abomination fight.
Thunderbolts #9-12/97-Atlas appears in Tastee Fruit Pie ad.
Heroes Return #2-With Hercules, the Thunderbolts confront the Hulk. When Atlas makes a sarcastic remark Hercules tells him to be quiet or Herc will ask the real Atlas to have words with Josten.
Amazing Spider-Man #430-Thinks with Techno how nice it would be to collect the bounty on Spider-Man's head.
Iron Man '99 Annual- Atlas pulls the wall off the burning construction site so that the other Bolts can help rescue the workers. Atlas blocks the crane so that it doesn't interfere with the rescue. Iron Man warns Hawkeye that Atlas may be a potential victim of an ionic vampire that has been sucking up ionic power.
Thunderbolts #45- flashback- The Thunderbolts return from their battle with Count Nefaria. Erik is brought back on a SHIELD medi-vac.
Thunderbolts #45- Atlas is seen, on one of Techno’s view screens, in his ionic form still at dangerous ionic levels. Techno has been unable to lower Atlas’ levels. Later Ogre talks to Goliath (Hank Pym) about Wonder Man’s condition. Pym says he is fine. Techno wonders why Atlas is still suffering. Pym says Simon has more experience manipulating his ionic powers. Pym says he will help Ogre with some tests later. Ogre/Techno is killed by Scourge.
Thunderbolts #46- As Techno lies on the ground in pieces, from Scourge’s attack, he looks across and spots Atlas still recovering from absorbing all that ionic power. Scourge tells Techno that after him Erik Josten is next, but by looking at him he thinks Josten might die before he gets the chance. Later as Scourge is waiting for the three bio-containment chambers to be removed from Techno’s body before he can kill it Atlas breaks free of his stasis chamber. Scourge runs out to stop Atlas. Scourge takes one look at the hundreds of feet tall Atlas and says, “Holy spit!” Scourge notices that Erik is in agony and that he can no longer contain his ionic energy. Scourge thinks to himself that he needs to figure out a way to shut him down fast. Scourge is trying to get a reading on Atlas when he notices that Atlas is looking behind him. Scourge is struck down by an electrical jolt. Atlas sees Jolt and tries to say her name. Jolt, crackling with power, tells Atlas that she will help him in a minute…right after she fries the man who killed her.
Thunderbolts #47- Jolt yells at Scourge to get away from Atlas. Jolt kicks him off Atlas’ thigh. Atlas says in his lethargic manner of speech to leave him alone and to get away. Scourge explains to Jolt what happened to Erik and why he is overflowing with ionic power. Scourge tells Jolt that he is supposed to kill Atlas, but that he doesn’t want to see thousands die when he explodes. Dallas watches paralyzed in a hospital bed as Atlas doubles in pain on the news. The V-Battalion spots Scourge on Atlas’ thigh. Atlas shouts to Hallie to get away from him again as he tries to crawl away from the towns nearby. Scourge opens up a direct link to Avengers mansion. Scourge reaches Hank Pym. Pym says that it seems that Atlas won’t be able to learn the same control Simon has until he goes through what Simon went through. Atlas tells him to go, but Jolt says that he can’t surrender. Atlas says that he has no choice because he can’t control himself anymore and he doesn’t want to hurt others. Atlas asks Scourge what he can do to not hurt others. Scourge says that Wonder Man blew up in outer space, but supposes that maybe they could shrink him down so that he wouldn’t hurt anything. Enchantress watches the events on the news. Atlas tells Jolt that he loves her as he shrinks down into Scourge’s gauntlet. Scourge throws the gauntlet between two mounts and the gauntlet explodes. Hallie says that she loves him too.
Thunderbolts #48- behind the scenes- Hawkeye tells the rest of the team that Atlas isn’t really dead. He says that Wonder Man and Count Nefaria have both come back from the dead, and he adds that Atlas will too.
