Lucifer

Lucifer is an alien being that was supposed to conquer the Earth. Lucifer had the power, but fell short. Lucifer's bosses didn't take the failure real well and exiled Lucifer to another dimension as punishment. Since then Lucifer discovered the power of ionic energy. Lucifer still wants to take over our world, but first he has to find a suitable body to house his immense power. Lucifer uses ionic energy to merge with humans on our world. What he has found however is that man's pitiful form was not meant to house as immense a power as his.

Iron Man #20- Lucifer calls out mentally to Charles Gray. Charles follows the transmissions to a bunch of wrecked buildings. Lucifer tells Charles that just like Charles is trapped in his useless life he is trapped in another dimension. He explains that he was banished by his masters for failing to take over the world. Lucifer explains that has formed a dimensional transmitter, and that he used it to form an overlapping between their two dimensions. Lucifer is stuck within the space they share. Lucifer says that he needs Charles’ help. Charles tries to run away, but he is frozen by Lucifer’s mind control. Lucifer uses his ionic energy to start taking control of Charles Gray’s body. Lucifer says that ionic energy within him is like a living thing. Charles asks why he was chosen. Lucifer explains that from Charles’ mind he found bitterness, discontent, and a desire to be rid of his boring life. Charles asks what he must do. Lucifer says that his entrance into our dimension being so limited can be fixed by Tony Stark. Gray will bring Stark to him. Gray says he isn’t sure, but Lucifer informs him that he must want it because he isn’t fighting the transformation. Lucifer says that Gray could fight it off if he really wanted to. Finally Lucifer possesses Charles, and Charles says that no matter what he has to do to feel this good is worth it. Lucifer tells Gray to hurry, as his field is temporary unless hooked up to a receiver. Lucifer adds that if he disappears then his power does too. Lucifer/Gray flips a car over as he walks. Charles aims the power at some condemned buildings and brings them down. The police arrive, but Gray is being told by Lucifer that his power isn’t limitless, and to stop showing off. Lucifer/Gray comes out of his mental discussion and hits the cops. The cops try to shoot him, but the bullets don’t effect him. Gray blasts the cops. Gray is reveling in the power, and Lucifer tells him to celebrate when he rules the world. Charles wife is out driving around looking for Charles when she hears Lucifer’s voice and recognizes it. She tries to talk to Charles, but Lucifer instructs Gray to blast his ions towards the ground to propel himself into flight. She chases after them. Lucifer bursts through the wall to find Iron Man. Lucifer flies into his chest. Lucifer tells Gray that a fight won’t help him. He tells Gray to come towards him so that he can probe Iron Man’s mind to learn Stark’s location. Gray walks trance-like and then blasts off. Iron grabs him, but Gray is fighting him off. Lucifer tells Gray to stop fighting like is on a football field and to cheat. Gray throws a car at Iron Man. Iron Man catches the car, but as he sets it down Gray unleashes wave after wave of ionic bursts. Iron Man passes out, and Gray picks him up. Suddenly Gray’s wife is there again. She tells Charles that he has always been important to her and their children. Gray realizes his error. He fights off Lucifer.

Captain America #177- Lucifer stands in his other dimension waiting. Lucifer’s patience is rewarded when the salirann that he trained to do so brings him the Casadrax mineral. Lucifer says that it is the only piece of Casadrax mineral in hs limbo, and that only a salirann could find it. Lucifer pets the salirann, and then puts the Casadrax mineral inside his dimensional transmitter. Lucifer says with the Casadrax mineral his transmitter will never fail him again. Lucifer presses the button on his transmitter, and he freaks out a homeless man laying in the alleyway he appears in. The man runs off saying the Lord’s Prayer. Lucifer says that his prescence usually invokes terror as opposed to poetry. He comes upon a foodshop, and busts in to end his imposed abstinence from food. Lucifer is eating when Rafe Michel and his friends also try breaking into the store. Rafe trips the alarm. As the police show up Lucifer says that the authorities will never take him. Lucifer blsts the police. He tells Rafe and his friends to follow him if they are with him. Lucifer has them attack the policemen while Lucifer throws their cars together. The Falcon arrives and hits one of Rafe’s friends. Lucifer blasts a policeman, and asks Falcon how he can hope to compare to him. Lucifer turns his back to Falcon. Falcon tries to tackle Lucifer, but he passes through his body. Lucifer says he didn’t will that. He realizes that the food he ate is probably sucking him back through his transmitter. Rafe says that if Lucifer is leaving he is too. Lucifer says that neither of them is going anywhere. Lucifer grabs Rafe, and the two merge into one. Lucifer says that with his power he will make sure this fusion is permanent. Lucifer blasts the ground in front of Falcon. He flies away and says that he will hear from Lucifer again. Later Lucifer finds that he isn’t feeling very well. He realizes that his power is too great to be housed in one human body. Lucifer says he has to transform half of his power to another body. Lucifer senses the perfect canidate inside the prison. Lucifer bursts through the door, and defeats the guards. Lucifer rips the bars off the cell of Aries, and tells him that he has come to offer him this kind of power as well. Aries says that he is buying what Lucifer is selling. The power flows between them both. Now instead of Aries and Lucifer there stands two Lucifer. The Falcon hears the voice of Lucifer, but finds two of them. Lucifer goes to blast him, but finds that halving his power has cost him the ability to use ionic blasts. One Lucifer swings and misses Falcon, and the other hits Red Wing. Falcon turns to see Red Wing, but is knocked out for his trouble. The Lucifers leave in a car that warns them that the police are coming. The car takes them to Morgan, who runs the rackets in Harlem. Morgan says he wants them to kill Falcon for him.

Captain America #178- Falcon is feeding Redwing when the Lucifers attack. Falcon turns to punch one, but doesn’t see the other that kicks him to the ground. Lucifer says that it is too bad that his partner Captain America has deserted him. Suddenly Redwing flies into the face of one of the Lucifers. Falcon hits the Lucifer in the body of Rafe. The more powerful Aries body throws a chunk of chimney at Falcon. Falcon ducks and kicks Lucifer into an electrical wire. The Rafe Michel Lucifer wants to fight, but his alter ego convinces him to flee and fight another day. Later Morgan yells at the Lucifers for failing to kill Falcon. They explain that all the powers except super strength were lost when they halved their power. The Aries Lucifer starts to defend themselves when the Rafe Lucifer points out that he was first chosen of Lucifer. Aries Lucifer points out that Rafe was only chosen because he was on hand. Rafe Lucifer’s head hurts. Aries Lucifer explains that he is going to get Lucifer’s items from his southwest desert laboratory. They fly to the base Lucifer used in X-Men 21. Rafe Lucifer notes again that Aries Lucifer should not treat him as an inferior since they are both Lucifer. Aries Lucifer points out the three ultra robots that he never had a chance to use. Rafe Lucifer asks what Aries Lucifer has planned. Aries Lucifer mocks Rafe Lucifer saying that they are equals and surely he has developed the same plans. The next day Aries Lucifer admires his robots terrorizing Harlem. Rafe Michel’s head hurts again. Falcon arrives, and Steve Rogers is watching as Falcon is blasted in the back. Steve (who had given up being Cap) runs in and buys a ski mask to hide his face. As the Lucifers stand over an unconscious Falcon, and Rafe Lucifer admits that Aries Lucifer is more bold than he is. Aries Lucifer is about to blast Falcon when the masked Steve Rogers tackles them from behind. One of the robots attacks Steve. Steve tricks the robots to destroy each other. Rafe Lucifer grabs Captain America, but lets him go when his headache becomes unbearable. Rafe drops over dead. Aries says good riddance, but doesn’t realize that their fates are linked. Aries drops over dead also. Lucifer returns to his limbo.

West Coast Avengers vol. 2 #24- behind the scenes- Dominus reveals that Lucifer was one of his race. His race takes over by subterfuge. For his failures against Professor X Lucifer was banished. When Lucifer continues failing from his dimensional banishment Dominus’ people found him and terminated him.

Iron Man annual ‘99- behind the scenes- flashback- The corpse of Rafe Michel is dug up and sucked dry of its ionic energy from when it was possessed by Lucifer. Lucifer is named on Dr. Rivera’s list of ionically powered individuals.
