Ant-Man turns into Scott Lang and lets Simon in. Wonder Man goes to the combat simulator and sets it for a random attack. Simon is smashing things up when he sees a giant robot hauling back to hit him. The robot freezes. Scott Lang stopped it and he tells Wonder Man about a job he knows of with Cordco Industries for someone with his unique talents. As Lang leaves he reactivates the program and the robot pastes Wonder Man. The next morning Simon meets Calvin Oakly at Cordco. Calvin introduces Simon to Dr. Wheetly who is working on viewing parallel dimensions. Oakly explains that they would need Simon to troubleshoot any unforeseen problems with all the experimental ideas. Simon accepts and goes for a physical. He rips open a giant pipe and scoops them all up. He presses the pipe into the wall, but the aliens just burn through the pipe. The power tower collapses. Simon rushes over and catches it. The men get out, but the guard dog Belker that was barking at him earlier is trapped. Simon saves him and turns off the generator. Dulcy tells Simon to go shut down the dimensional machine. The doorway is blocked so Simon pushes the wall down. Simon wades through the aliens and pulls the plug on the machine. The aliens disappear. Simon gets the job, as Dulcy puts it, so that he will earn enough money to pay for the wall he knocked over. After work the guard wants to thank Simon for saving Belker’s life. They go to a bar and Simon orders a Coke. While they talk a muscle head comes up and starts taunting “Wonderful Man” telling him to show him how tough he really is. Without looking down Simon rips up a bolted down stool and walks away. The next day Wheetly sneaks back to his machine and plugs it back in. Calvin Oakly is sucked into another dimension. Simon gets equipped to go in after him, but then his Avengers alert card sounds. He gets the gear off. Dulcy asks him where he is going. Simon says that he has to save millions. He says that Calvin is a good man, and he wishes that he could save him. Simon flies off. He arrives at the East Coast Medical Center. Simon sees the Avengers and they explain that the Sandman has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. He freaked out and started releasing radiation at random hoping to find a cure. Beast wants to go after her, but Simon tells Beast that if she is with Longride it may be too late to save her. The next day the newspaper reports that Dazzler has gone missing. Simon asks Beast why he cares since she didn’t seem to care much for him. Beast says that he just can’t stop thinking about her and how she doesn’t belong with that crowd. Simon says that he needs to catch his breath first. The next day Wonder Man and Hawkeye find Iron Man doing some homework on Power Man after Power Man's new alias, Goliath, kicks his butt all over the place. Wonder Man tells Iron Man not to let the bad press get him down. Hawkeye and Wonder Man say that as a team they want to help Iron Man. Simon says that he wants to help because Power Man was an imitator of his. Simon says that perhaps the equipment they developed to detect his ionic self once he was resurrected could be used to track Goliath. They send for it. After two hours of searching the detector finally starts beeping. Wonder Man walks into Goliath’s hotel room. Seconds later he comes hurtling out. Goliath grows right out of the building. He knocks Hawkeye over by lifting the ground he is standing on. Wonder Man tries to fly right at Goliath, but Goliath swats him down like a bug. Everyone freaks at Simon's red eyes, but as Simon explains that he is an Avenger the Blank slips out of his grip. The Blank dives through a window, and Wonder Man can't see where he went. Later Wonder Man is stewing that he let Blank get away. Hawkeye says not to worry about it, but to concentrate on teamwork. Simon agrees that it makes sense that the whole team look for The Blank. He goes out to search. The Blank tries to rob an armored car, but only gets a little, and has to run away. The Avengers corner him at a gas station, but by the time Wonder Man and Tigra get there Blank gets away by causing an explosion in one of the gas pumps.

Simon just says he had been restoring his confidence enough to join up with the Avengers, but in his first duty as a superhero again he lets The Blank get away. Wonder Man's fingers dig into the pool's bottom. Wonder Man collapses the entire pool, and climbs out. Wonder Man punches Graviton as Iron Man grabs "Madame Masque" and flies away. Drugged from spiked champagne, Graviton follows. Wonder Man goes to stop him, but Mockingbird and Hawkeye stop him from interfering with the plan. After taking the force of Iron Man's, who had been hooked up to a power plant, blasts Wonder Man, Iron Man, and Tigra knock down Graviton's shield. Graviton blasts them all away. Hawkeye gases Graviton, and the cumulative attack knocks out Graviton. The news media arrives and starts fawning over the team. Simon feels like an Avenger again.

The Avengers take off to fight Maelstrom. Simon says that Maelstrom sounds pretty tough. Hawkeye and Iron Man bolster Simon’s confidence. Simon says that he is finally enjoying being an Avenger and hopes he gets to continue. The two teams of Avengers meet up, but are pushed back by another of Maelstrom’s thralls Helios. Starfox overwhelms his pleasure center and gets Helios to take him to Maelstrom’s land. Phobius and Gronk come to fight and Phobius’ power counters Starfox’s. Simon fights Helios as Hercules fights Gronk. Tigra nerve pinches Phobius. The others press ahead. Simon knocks out Helios' with one finger. As Herc beats Gronk the other Avengers smash through the ground because of the now giant Maelstrom. Maelstrom grabs Hercules, Wonder Man, and Starfox and makes them into a kinetic battery. He then goes about attacking the others. Photon is still paralyzed in fear, but when she sees Maelstrom grab and start to kill Tigra she snaps out of it. Photon blasts Maelstrom. Iron Man attacks Maelstrom and gets him to chase him. Vision and Scarlet Witch both try freeing Simon, Herc, and Eros but fail. Eros realizes that they should overload Maelstrom with power. Maelstrom can’t convert the power fast enough into mass and he disperses. Simon is freed and Maelstrom’s thralls surrender. Afterwards they have a little party at the West Coast Avengers’ compound. Simon talks with Vision about his stuntman career. Simon thinks how odd it is to see Vision acting so mellow.

Simon kisses Tigra and flies out of the quinjet. Simon wonders if the solution might be inside his head since his brain was used to create the Vision. He dives right into the East River. Simon finds the entrance to the Avengers submarine pen. Simon clamps a magno-scrambler onto the door to prevent the alarm from going off and then he rips the other door off its hinges. Inside the hanger Simon cleans off his glasses happy to be able to breathe even though he doesn’t need to. Vision appears before Simon and tells him not to bother searching through the subs. Vision remarks at Simon’s new outfit. Simon remarks on Vision’s polo shirt. Simon asks Vision if he wants to sit down, but as he puts his hand on him it passes through. Vision is only a holograph. Simon asks Vision what happened to him. Vision begins addressing Simon, and all the others he is appearing holographically to. Vision tells them all about the control crystal that is embedded in his head that Ultron originally used to control him. Vision says that when Starfox put him online with ISAAC that it greatly expanded his memory and emotions. Vision then reveals that ISAAC helped Vision simulate Starfox’s powers in order to get a West Coast branch of the Avengers approved and to get Wasp to give him control of the Avengers. Vision says that with him controlling everything there is now no threat of nuclear war. The others cause him to see the flaw in his logic, and so Vision dissipates. Simon remembers one more place to look for Vision, the underground lab where Howard Stark built Arsenal. He plows through the wall into the lab and finds the Vision’s body. Vision is still within the system, but the system is about to fail. Starfox arrives and manages to pull Vision’s mind out of the computer just before it shuts down. Vision stands, but says that there is still a danger. He plunges his own hand into his face and pulls out the control crystal. Vision prepares to face the consequences.

He says that he thinks that he may have been wearing them to hide instead of just hiding his eyes. Tigra leaves with Dino.

Fantastic Four #293- As She-Hulk calls in to Avengers mansion to tell Wyatt that all of Central City is not responding Simon is carrying a large machine in the background. All of Central City is covered by a black dome. The other Fantastic Four and Wyatt head out to Central City as well. Simon watches as Iron Man creates a machine that allows him to pass through the field. He passes in, but as quickly as he flew in he is immediately expelled with broken up armor. Iron Man asks why they didn’t come in for him. Tigra tells him that he was only in there for a second, but Iron Man says that he was in there for three weeks. Simon flies Iron Man to headquarters so he can get medical attention.

West Coast Avengers vol. 2 #12- Wonder Man presents his newest and most hideous to date costume. The, what must be, very polite Avengers tell him how good he looks. Hawkeye asks why he dyed his hair, and Simon says that his hair was only gray because of his death. Simon says that he figured looking his age would help his Hollywood career. Mockingbird then shows her new costume that doesn’t cover her legs. A little later Tigra tries to get a little “petting” from Simon, but he says that he is kinda taken with Christy and asks Tigra what happened to her and Hank. Tigra says that they aren’t exclusive. Simon says that Hank thinks that they are. Tigra gets ticked and leaves. Later still Simon goes with the team to oppose Quantum, Half-Life, and Zzzax. Wonder Man flies in and hits Quantum. Quantum splits into many replicas. One of the replicas hits Simon and manages to hurt him. One of the Quantums throws Simon into the ground by Hawkeye. Hawkeye asks Simon to pull him up a water pipe. Simon pulls it up and sprays Zzzax. Hawkeye dissolves him with an arrow. Simon is fighting all the Quantums when he realizes that Half-Life is the greatest threat because of her decaying touch. Simon swoops down and picks her up. Half-Life’s death touch doesn’t affect Simon because his ionic form doesn’t age or die. Wonder Man knocks her out. Hawkeye deprives Quantum of sunlight defeating him. The team stands around feeling good about themselves when they are suddenly pressed into the ground by Graviton. Graviton has Tigra in a slave collar.

West Coast Avengers vol. 2 #13- Wonder Man is pressed against the floor by Graviton's power as the rock floats ten miles above the surface of the Earth. When Graviton starts saying that he did this because he has the hots for Tigra Hawkeye and Simon get outraged, but one kiss from Graviton and Tigra's feline side swoons. Graviton leaves the Avengers trapped, and goes inside with Quantum and Half-Life with Tigra on a leash. Later Tigra, in her human form, sets Quantum and Half-Life against each other. As Graviton calls his guards away from the Avengers to stop them Tigra uses a box that the guards use to avoid Graviton's powers to free Wonder Man and the others. While trying to separate Quantum and Half-Life Graviton loses control of his powers the sky island starts to rocket into space. Wonder Man offers to carry Graviton, but he refuses. Wonder Man grabs a bunch of the guards, and Iron Man grabs everybody else to fly back to Earth. Graviton shoots into space.
