Avengers West Coast annual #6- Simon finishes watching a movie when the alarm goes off. Wonder Man and the others come running as Iron Man is deliberately setting off alarms as he approaches the compound with Kala. Kala is the former escort of Mole Man though now she is aged without the fountain of youth. Kala explains how the Deviants are in the subterranean world threatening Mole Man, Tyrannus, all the life below the earth and the easter Avengers down there already. They get into Stark’s “Groundhawk” tank and go. Simon asks Spider-Woman if she can believe Wanda is reading Newsweek as they drive towards battle. Hawkeye thinks he sees something. Simon smashes the underground wall to reveal a captive Captain America and Black Widow. They join them in the Groundhawk. They find Mole Man and he tells them Brutus, leader of the Deviants, has a weapon that will destroy the surface world. They head off to fight. Wanda does a hex on the ground where Simon and a Deviant are fihgting. The ground collapses. The Deviant falls, but Wonder Man flies back up. The East Coasters meet up with the West Coasters, and both fight Brutus. Sersi reveals to the Deviants that Brutus is not a Deviant but a mutate. They desert Brutus and the fight is over. Wonder Man shakes hands with she-Hulk as the fight is over.

Avengers West Coast #82- Vision returns and tells Wonder Man that the reason the two of them were jarred by a shift in direction is because the nega-bomb that they are in is being transported by a skrull starship. Wonder Man says he wonders what that means. Vision says that it means the skrulls stole the bomb. Simon says he knew that, and asks why Vision has to be so literal. He inquires about the other Avengers. Vision says that they can take care of themselves. Wonder Man says that Scarlet Witch was Vision’s wife when he had emotions, but stops himself saying he is wasting his emotions on an android. The skrull ship they are on starts to rumble as they warp through the stargate near Earth’s sun.

Avengers West Coast #84- At breakfast the team turns on the radio to hear about the deaths of Henry Drummond and Walt Weston the only two people with the knowledge that would expose one of the presidential candidates. Both were killed in spider related manners. Iron Man says they have to find out about it, and Wonder Man says that means all days off are canceled. Simon tells Lightning to put a shirt on. The Avengers are at the Liberty Party Convention for security after the killings. Galvan, the Liberty Party’s candidate, starts to speak and the lights go out. The Avengers chase Spider-Man, but then find Deathweb- Therak, Antro, and Arachne.

Avengers West Coast #85- Wonder Man shouts “Wanda” when Arachne kicks her in the face. After Therak throws Iron Man he punches Wonder Man in the chest. Wonder Man tells Hawkeye that he can beat Therak. Therak whispers that it is a joke to think that Wonder Man could beat him. Therak hits Wonder Man again, and then Wonder Man recognizes in Therak’s eyes that he has ionic powers just like he does. Therak grabs Wonder Man, and slams him unconscious against the wall. Wonder Man finally wakes up as Therak is digging out of the ground because of Wanda’s hex. Wonder Man and Iron Man try hitting and blasting Therak together when Antro grabs Spider-Woman’s daughter. They take her as a hostage and leave since they did what they came to do. Spider-Woman leaves to find her daughter. Wonder Man feels exploited as Galvan makes it seem like the Avengers presence is an endorsement for him.
