Thor #160- Thor is sought out by a Rigelian to face Galactus. Galactus is scanning space when he senses an aura of great intelligence. Galactus decides that he must learn more because what he knows he can destroy. Suddenly from the perimeter of the galaxy comes an attack. Galactus tracks the intelligence down and finds Ego, the living planet. Ego warns Galactus that here he is the power. Galactus says that Ego is a planet, and that he is a planet ravager. Galactus strikes at Ego with the fire of a thousand suns. Ego shields himself with a force of solid cold. As Ego strikes back the force blows apart the ship that Thor and Recorder were approaching on.

Alpha Flight #99- To avoid Galactus the Quwrlin have managed to teleport their entire planet into another dimensional plane. The Quwrlin tell Nova that for millennia their entire culture has been spent thinking of a way to keep away from the world devourer. Nova asks if they ever considered the fact that Galactus can hone in on his herald. The Quwrlin admit that they had not. Galactus arrives. The Quwrlin realize their sad fate as Galactus assembles his equipment to convert their planet into energy. One Quwrlin wonders if they have enough time to contact their agent or if the signal would even reach now. The Quwrlin quickly send a signal to Earth’s super-heroes. On Earth, Vindicator’s mechanical parts take over his body. Alpha Flight and the Avengers had been battling against a giant collective of aliens who were trying to capture the being known as Her. When the robotic parts take over Vindicator says that they are needed to save millions. Vindicator suddenly teleports half of the heroes to the planet of the Quwrlin to oppose Galactus.
Alpha Flight #100- When the heroes decide that they must fight Galactus, Galactus tells Nova to try and detain them without hurting them unduly. The heroes combined attack knocks Nova out of the fight. The heroes say that they cannot allow Galactus to destroy this world. Galactus says that is a pity, but the hunger is upon him and he will dine. Galactus attempts to eliminate the heroes from the corporeal world until he is done. Galactus waves his hand, but nothing happens. Galactus wonders why his powers didn’t work, but he doesn’t wonder long as the heroes attack him. The heroes actually manage to knock Galactus off his feet. Galactus is ticked and asks, “how dare they”? Galactus blasts them all backwards with sheer physical force. The Quwrlin say that this dimension was picked specifically because of its abilities to screw with Galactus’ power. The Quwrlin tell Nova that this may be her master’s final stand. Hercules smashes Galactus in the face with a rock. Galactus is outraged. Her blasts Galactus in the face with an energy bolt. Galactus reaches out and grabs Guardian. Galactus tells the others to back off or he will kill Guardian. Guardian tells them to continue attacking. Vindicator agrees. Galactus tells them to get off the planet while he devours it. Vindicator fights against the Quwrlinian parts in his body and blasts Galactus saying, “Let go of my wife!” Vindicator’s electromagnetic assault wreaks havoc in Galactus’ internal energy flow. Galactus falls over. Guardian says that they have to get Galactus off the planet and return to Earth to fight the Consortium. Galactus says that he has heard of the Consortium and that they power their ships with entire planets. Guardian and Vindicator energize the teleportation device to teleport the Quwrlin planet back to its location, and to bring the Consortium ship there for Galactus to feed upon the world that powers it. To do so would kill them both. At the last second Vindicator protects Guardian and completes the powering of the teleportation by himself. Galactus looks upon the recently arrived Consortium ship and says, “It is time to feed….”

Quasar #24- Maelstrom flies to Galactus’ world ship. Galactus is unaware of Maelstrom’s arrival. Maelstrom alters his physical form to be larger than Galactus. Maelstrom greets Galactus. Maelstrom says that his position is greater than Galactus’. Maelstrom says that because of Galactus’ being from the previous universe that he thinks that he is unique to the other beings in the universe, and yet like the lowliest creature he requires sustenance. Maelstrom says that Galactus is ruled by his hunger, but that he is not hunger itself. Maelstrom says that he is a concept. He says that he will destroy the universe Galactus depends on. Maelstrom says that even the Ultimate Nullifier wouldn’t affect him.
