Tiger Shark

Todd Arliss was the greatest swimmer in the United States and the world. Breaking records and winning medals Todd Arliss was just about to cash in on his popularity when he was seriously injured rescuing a man overboard. Swimming was all Todd Arliss wanted to do and so he sold his soul to Dr. Dorcas. Dorcas granted Tiger Shark fantastic powers merging the power of Namor, the Sub-Mariner, and a shark. The merger left Todd Arliss vicious and greedy. Namor has long been a thorn in Namor's side. Tiger Shark even killed Namor's father. Tiger Shark had settled into the good life with a wife and impending child, but their murder seems to have put him back into his life of villainy.

Sub-Mariner #5- flashback- Todd Arliss was the greatest swimming star of the decade. He won Olympic medals and set new records. Todd decided to turn pro. Coming home from the Olympics a man on Todd's boat goes overboard. Todd dove in to save the man, but injured his back so badly that he would never swim again. Arliss was crushed. Swimming was his life. Todd Arliss went to many doctors, but nobody could helwp him. Nobody that is until he met Dr. Dorcas. Arliss gives Dorcas all the rest of his money, and says he would pay the price of his soul to be able to swim again.

Sub-Mariner #7- Namor comes to check and see if Tiger Shark's disposition is any better. Ikthon says Tiger Shark is still consumed by the madness of a shark. Namor talks with Tiger Shark via a viewscreen. Namor asks Tiger Shark where his sister lives. Shark bellows that he has no sister, that he is one of a kind. Shark then destroys the viewscreen. With hypno-serum they were able to learn Diane lived in New York. Namor goes to her to tell her brother lives. Namor tells her that Todd is alive if not still a shark.

Sub-Mariner #9- Namor and Dorma return to Atlantis with the mind altering helmet of Destiny. Ikthon tells Namor that Tiger Shark might be cured with the fabled Herbs of Healing found in the Abyss of Doom. Namor and Seth go off to find it, but come back empty handed when Namor is bathed in some liquid that causes him to forget why he was there. Destiny's helmet alters into the Crown of Set. Dorma, in a trance, puts on the crown. Namor returns to Atlantis to find everyone under the thrall of Naga, the altered Dorma.

Sub-Mariner #9- Namor sees that Tiger Shark has escaped while everyone is acting nuts. He could have left Atlantis, but wanted to fightt Namor again. Dorma's worshippers chase Namor, and Tiger Shark decides to wait to fight.

Sub-Mariner #15- Diane Arliss works with Dr. Dorcas to blackmail Namor into finding her brother by kidnapping Dorma. Namor saves her and as he offers Diane his help if she renounces Dorcas we see Tiger Shark in the ocean.

Sub-Mariner #16- A warlord of Namor's returns to report that he saw Tiger Shark immersed in some sort of living seaweed. The warlord's ship was destroyed however and only he survived. As Namor goes in search of Tiger Shark, Tiger Shark emerges from the seaweed to climb onto a frigate. Shark notices that the mist is so thick it suits his gills fine to be out of the water. On the boat Tiger Shark meets Nekhbet and seven other men from varying time periods. Nekhbet tells Shark they were all lost at sea in the Sargasso at one point and they wound up there. They all seem to live forever in the lost place. Tiger Shark decides he is ready to leave, but the German occupant offers Shark a deal. If he gets him out he'll show Tiger Shark how to use a super weapon on his u-boat to take over the world. The others, except Nekhret, offer to serve Shark if he helps them get out. Tiger Shark gets out and finds the German's sub. He returns to free his new followers, but before Shark kills Nekhret Namor arrives to fight Shark. They battle and Namor mentions his promise to Shark's sister, Shark once again tells Namor that he has no sister. While Namor and Shark battle Shark's new followers capture Dorma. At the slightest hint of treachery Shark kills the German and takes Dorma himself. Shark gets all his followers out only to watch them die as every year they spent within Sargasso ages on them and kills them. Namor jumps Shark. Shark's two remaining followers (who only aged 50 years) fire the torpedo in the u-boat at a freighter. Namor goes off to stop the torpedo allowing Tiger Shark to escape.

Sub-Mariner #24- Krang, Dr. Dorcas, and the newly created Orka have Namor prisoner. Krang has Orka mentally command the killer whales to kill all those who accompany the fleeing Lady Dorma. The whales attack leaving only Dorma and Vashti alive. Just then Tiger Shark happens by and defeats the whales so he can go talk to Dorma. Shark says he will help Dorma if she agrees to marry him. Dorma agrees and Shark goes out to defeat the rest of the killer whales. Shark carries Vashti. Krang has Namor strapped to a killer whale and the three make their move on Atlantis. Tiger Shark orders the Atlanteans to prepare for a killer whale attack. Dorma tells Shark she fears Namor is dead. Shark tells her not to worry about it since she is his woman now. Krang's army approaches so Shark smooches his new gal and takes off to find out why the army isn't shooting back. The leader doesn't want to risk hitting Namor strapped to the killer whale. Shark could care less and tells him to fire or his whole family is going to jail. Namor is shot off the whale. The armies stink at fighting the whales, but Shark keeps it close by handling a half dozen or more by himself. Namor awakens on a rock. Dorma tells Namor that she is Shark's sweetie now. Namor grabs Krang, but Shark ambushes Namor. Namor is wrapped in Krang's cape so Orka decides that Shark is battling Krang. Orka smashes Shark. Dorcas and Krang realize that Orka can't beat Shark and Namor so they take off. Orka is crushed that they abandoned him, but Shark isn't real sympathetic. During the fight Orka pulls out the main support for the building they are in. A crevice opens up and swallows both Orka and Tiger Shark.

Sub-Mariner #43- Namor is searching for his human father. Tiger Shark joins forces with Llyra, the woman who killed Lady Dorma, in order to attack Namor together.

Sub-Mariner #44- Llyra finds Namor. Shark's servant Lymondo wants to kill Llyra, but Shark tells him he must wait until she is no longer of any use to him. Shark wants to find Namor because his powers have been waning. Llyra's ray awakens Krago, a giant sea monster, to act as a decoy to bring Namor to them. Torch comes in and thinks Namor is on a rampage. Torch eventually figures out that Namor is the good guy, but by then Shark and Llyra have accidentally grabbed Torch in a beam instead of Namor. Llyra reverses the ray and shoots Torch into the ocean. Krago leaps out of the water and hits Llyra's ship knocking everyone over. Diane Arliss, Shark's sister, has been trying to find Namor's father as well because she has the hots for Namor. Walter Newell, formerly the Stingray, checking on an address for Diane finds Namor's father. Torch tries to tell the police of Namor's innocence. Torch finds Diane Arliss, and Torch takes Diane to help Namor.

Sub-Mariner #45- Tiger Shark fixes Llyra's ship that was damaged last issue. Llyra sends up her Lemurian signal and Namor comes rushing for revenge. Torch tries to stop Namor from killing, by destroying Llyra's ship, only to see Tiger Shark blasts Namor unconscious. Torch catches Namor, and fireballs Shark. Llyra grabs Diane Arliss to use against Namor. Tiger Shark and Llyra learn of Namor's father using a mind-probing machine. Tiger Shark waits while Lymondo kidnaps Leonardo McKenzie, Namor's father. Walter Newell hears of McKenzie's abduction. Walter decides he must become the Stingray again. Llyra drops off Diane in front of Namor so that he learns of his father's abduction. Namor surrenders to Llyra.

Sub-Mariner #46- Llyra tells Namor that she control him now, but Namor leaps on Tiger Shark and says he'd rather die than have he and his father live as cowards. Shark and Namor battle back and forth until Llyra opens a portal and Lymondo kicks Namor and Shark into the ocean. Llyra immediately notices Tiger Shark has lost his amphibious powers. Llyra electrocutes the water knocking them both out. Lymondo brings them in and straps them to a machine. McKenzie finally remembers and recognizes Namor as his son. Walter turns into Stingray. Llyra repowers Tiger Shark. Stingray bursts through Llyra's ship and charges Shark and Llyra. Shark pushes Stingray's face down, but is blasted for his trouble. Namor awakens and has to find a way to save his non-water-breathing father as the ship sinks. Namor downs Lymondo and takes his father to escape, but runs into Shark killing Stingray. Namor throws him off. McKenzie knocks a blaster from Llyra's hand, but at that moment Tiger Shark hurls a piece of pipe that strikes McKenzie in the back of the head. Tiger Shark and Llyra escape as Leonardo McKenzie dies in his son's arms.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #160- Bruce Banner contacts a Spad McCraken to fly him to Buffalo. He hulks out in the back of the plane. Hulk leaps from the plane onto Niagara Falls. Hulk sees Talbot and goes for him, but Tiger Shark attacks him first. Tiger Shark is on the run because he had recently killed Namor's father, and Tiger Shark figures Hulk is there to get him for Namor. Glenn runs Betty up to Canada. Hulk goes up for breath after knocking some rocks towards Tiger Shark. Tiger Shark tries to knock Hulk back into the water. Hulk stop his fall, and catches Tiger Shark. Hulk then smashes him against the rock, and throws him back into the water. Hulk sees the army, but wants to find Betty so he takes off

Marvel Team-Up#14- Due to Spider-Man's distrust of Namor he delays Namor long enough for Tiger Shark to escape. Tiger Shark says that Dorcas' goons didn't slow down Namor at all and Namor almost caught up to him. Shark says he would've preferred fighting. Dorcas tells Shark that it's better for Shark to lead Namor to his base. Inside the base Dorcas shows Shark his newest altered beings. They are a perfect blend of marine-life and humanoids. Dorcas calls them Men-Fish. Spider-Man uses his spider-sense to guide Namor to Dorcas' base. They travel to a ship. Inside the ship is a tube that leads to the base at the bottom of the ocean's floor. Namor and Spider-Man attack Dorcas and Shark, but they discover the pair were decoys. Touching the decoys poisoned the two. Spider-Man wakes up in a tube. For some reason Dorcas wants Spider-Man to watch him drain Namor's life force into his Men-Fish. Then Dorcas and Tiger Shark leave to finish their settings. Spider-Man shoots a web through an air hole to spin a seacock that causes water to pour on Namor. Namor revives and breaks Spider-Man free. Tiger Shark bails but Namor catches up to him. Namor is weakened by the intense lights. Shark hits Namor, but Namor comes back and rips Shark's outfit freeing the water that was inside. Namor hits Shark, but the base starts to collapse. Namor and Spider-Man escape the base before it explodes.

Super-Villain Team-Up #1- After spurning Doom's offer for an alliance Namor swims to Hydrobase. He meets a newly amphibious Dr. Joe Jennings. Jennings tells Namor Hydrobase is in trouble just as Attuma's soldiers attack. Namor defeats them, but is jumped from behind by Tiger Shark. When Namor looks up he sees Tiger Shark and Dr. Dorcas allied with Attuma. Attuma rescued Dorcas and Shark when their Men-Fish plant exploded. Attuma says that with his leadership, Dorcas' scientific knowledge, and Shark's power they will take over the world. Namor is still a little upset about Attuma killing Dorma and Tiger Shark murdering his father. He takes them both by the back of the neck and throws them off a cliff into the water below. Dorcas helped Attuma by allowing him to breathe oxygen. Namor dives in after them. He hits Attuma, but is himself struck by Tiger Shark. Shark hits him again as Attuma smashes Namor with a club. Namor strikes Attuma. Namor dodges Shark's charge and causes him to hit Attuma. Shark and Namor go at it, but as Namor goes to strike Attuma Dorcas shocks Namor unconscious with a specially designed for underwater use electrical gun.

Super-Villain Team-Up #2- Doom has been watching the whole time. Jennings escapes. As Attuma and Dorcas drag Namor ashore Tiger Shark discovers Doom's camera, a mechanical fish. Doom decides to aid Namor to sort of try and cement their own wary alliance. Doom flies to Hydrobase. Doom wals through the defenses and into two of Attuma's Octo-meks. Doom hypnotizes the Octo-meks' drivers to crash into each other. Doom meets up with a newly amphibious Betty Dean Prentiss, who first met Namor in the 40's. Betty tells Doom that Attuma is holding kids hostage to force hydro-base to work for him. Doom goes to rescue Namor in a special dehydrated cell. Doom finds Tiger Shark, Attuma, and Dorcas there. Dorcas slaps Betty enraging Namor. Doom blasts Shark and Attuma, but Dorcas is free to kill Namor. Betty jumps before the blast and is killed. Namor breaks free. He scoops up Betty and remembers Dorma dying and his father dying and he looks up a seethng cauldron of rage.

Super-Villain Team-Up #3- Namor leaps for Dorcas. Shark and Attuma grab him. Tiger Shark kicks him down, and Attuma jumps on Namor. Namor throws Attuma off, but Shark is back on him pummeling him. Namor says that he respects Shark because at least he lets his actions speak for him. Doom walks over and stun shocks Attuma and Shark. Doom tries to show Namor that battle with Tiger Shark and Attuma is beneath them. Doom teleports them to his ship as Shark and Attuma attack. Namor collapses. When Namor awakes Doom has decided to help his friend Namor against his foes. Shark and Dorcas search for Jennings while Attuma remains behind to torture Tamara. Doom throws an electronic harpoon on Shark. Dorcas destroys the harpoon. Doom ship surges with power and destroys all the Octo-meks. Dorcas calls Attuma to warn him Doom is coming. When Attuma rushes off to join Shark and Dorcas Namor frees the hostages. Namor then frees Tamara. While Attuma, Shark, and Dorcas fight Doom Namor sneaks up behind them with a ray Doom gave him. Namor decides that this isn't vengence, breaks the gun, and attacks Shark and Dorcas. Doom, without Namor's aid and even his personal power supply drained, is forced to flee. Shark battles Namor as Dorcas grabs his blaster. Doom tricks the barbarians into taking a power surge that his armor protects him from. Namor throws a defeated Shark at Dorcas. Dorcas ducks, but Shark his the legs of an Octo-mek which collaspes and kills him. The Amphibians of Hydrobase imprison Attuma and Tiger Shark.

Ms. Marvel #15- Tiger Shark braces himself on the ceiling of his prison cell. When the guard comes in to investigate Tiger Shark drops onto him. Shark storms the control center. He grabs the watchman before he can sound the alarm. He holds him upside down and yells that he wants to know where Namor is. The Amphibian mentions that Nita (Namor's cousin) didn't mention where Namor was. Shark throws him through a window and decides to get revenge on Namor by killing his cousin. A man is fishing on a pier when he catches a big one. The big one pulls the man in. Tiger Shark crashes through the pier and walks off. While Ms. Marvel is apartment hunting she sees Wundarr crash to the floor. She hits him back into his apartment to find that Wundarr was hit to the ground by Tiger Shark as he kidnapped Namorita. She spots Tiger Shark and dive bombs her feet into his back. Tiger Shark attacks, but Ms. Marvel redirects him into a street sign. Ms. Marvel hits Tiger Shark, but he laughas it off and knocks her into a wall. She comes back and he grabs her foot and smashes her into the ground. A police car drives into Shark, but he just uses it to swing and hit Ms. Marvel. Two kids get to close and Ms. Marvel pushes them out of the way as she takes the full force of the car Tiger Shark had thrown. She emerges from the wreckage, but by then Shark had left with Namorita into the ocean.

Avengers #222- Egghead decides he will try to take over the world by inventing a way to maintain eternal youth. He decides he needs lackeys. He deploys a robot to Atlantis. The robot shoots and destroys Tiger Shark's prison. Tiger Shark breaks into Ryker's Island. He lays out the cops and gets Scorpion and Whirlwind to go with him. Tiger Shark goes to the women's ward and breaks out Moonstone. The four sit around waiting for their new boss. Whirlwind tells Tiger Shark to "put a sock in it" at which point Shark backhands him. Just then Egghead comes in. Egghead wants them to be his bodyguards and needs them to break into a Manhattan medical research center. Whirlwind blows it trying to kidnap the Wasp, and a full-scale battle between the Masters of Evil and the Avengers. Tiger Shark smacks Wasp out of the sky. Hawkeye sends up a flare to the other Avengers. Thor arrives first and knocks everyone off his or her feet. Moonstone blasts Thor, Scorpion hits him, and Tiger Shark hits him with a car. She-Hulk, in bra and panties, hits Tiger Shark from behind. Hawkeye downs Whirlwind. Wasp blasts Moonstone and She-Hulk punches her into Scorpion. The Masters are driven away in a police wagon.

Avengers #228- Tiger Shark comes crashing through Egghead's roof while pounding on Shocker. Beetle carries the isotopes the three stole. Beetle and Moonstone separate the two. Egghead reminds Shark that Shocker is important to the plan. Tiger Shark insults Dr. Chen Lu calling him a "big gook". Chen Lu transforms into Radioactive Man and Tiger Shark apologizes. As Hank Pym takes the stand in his own defense the courtroom roof collapses and Tiger Shark, Moonstone, Beetle, Shocker, and Radioactive Man drop in. Moonstone grabs Pym and leaves. Tiger Shark is trapped by Hawkeye's net arrow, but rips through it. All the villains escape with Pym except Shocker. Shocker tells the heroes that it was Pym who arranged for the villains to break him out. Pym awakens and charges Egghead. Shark restrains him. Egghead tells Pym that he brainwashed Shocker into thinking Pym really did arrange his escape. Pym has no choice but to join the Masters of Evil.

Avengers #229- Tiger Shark watches Hank Pym as he works. Moonstone says she knows that Pym is trying to pull a trick, but to test his work they hook Pym himself up to the machine. The machine emits a force field that can't be turned off. Nobody can get through the field. Pym defeats the entire Masters of Evil, knocking out Tiger Shark by hurling the Radioactive Man at him. Hawkeye sees Tiger Shark out cold right before accidentally killing Egghead protecting Hank Pym from a blaster.

Avengers #230- Tiger Shark is still out when the Avengers get down there. The Masters of Evil are arrested.

West Coast Avengers vol. 2 #16- Tiger Shark has almost gotten out into the Pacific Ocean when Hank Pym, Patsy Walker, and Damon Hellstrom are out in a boat checking to be sure Tigra's fear of water is gone. Hellcat shoots her claws into the water and pulls aboard Tiger Shark. Tigra jumps off his back and onto the boat's mast. Tiger Shark breaks the mast with one punch. Shark grabs Hellcat and Tigra by the hair, but drops them when they both scratch his chest. Apparently Tiger Shark's suit was full of water keeping him strong and that after two seconds without water Tigra is stronger than Shark. Tiger Shark is led off by the cops, tied up in a rope…right. Anyway as the police lead Shark away he still takes the time to laugh at what he and Egghead's Masters of Evil did to Hank Pym. Pym asks about the other old Masters like Whirlwind. Shark yells that Whirlwind was supposed to be helping him today.

Marvel Comics Presents #53- A Guardsman from the Vault comes to Walter and Diane Arliss Newell about Tiger Shark's health. Seems in his water cage Tiger Shark had gone unconscious, and they have been unable to revive him. The Guardsman brought Shark with him so that Walter might help. Walter can't figure it out and goes to get a cup of coffee. When he returns he finds the door locked. He changes into Stingray and rips the door open to find the Guardsman down, and Tiger Shark holding Diane hostage.

Marvel Comics Presents #54- While Shark explains his plan to get free to his sister and Stingray the Guardsman recovers and grabs Shark. While Shark beats on the Guardian Stingray tells Diane to get to safety. Stingray tries to help the Guardsman, but Tiger Shark throws him through a plate of glass. While Shark yells at his sister Stingray blasts him from behind. Shark lunges but Stingray flips him. Stingray unloads on Shark, but Shark kicks him in a sensitive spot and throws him through a wall knocking him out. Shark grabs his sister for a hostage and leaves. Stingray comes to but has to medically attend the Guardsman. He takes off to find Diane.

Marvel Comics Presents #55- Shark takes Diane to a cave Dr. Dorcas once used as a lab. Diane keeps calling Tiger Shark Todd. Shark gets angry and says he'll kill her if he has to. Stingray shows up and Shark says this time he'll be sure to kill him. Shark starts to choke Stingray, but Stingray flips him over. Their battling causes the cave to collapse with Diane inside.

Marvel Comics Presents #56- Stingray tries to appeal to Shark, but Shark laughs and leaves. Stingray's blaster fizzles out and has to start digging. He feels like quitting, but Shark comes back to help him. They dig through and find Diane out cold and trapped. They free her. A falling rock triggers the self-destruct button. The opening starts to collapse, but Shark holds it up for them. Stingray and Diane escape but Tiger Shark doesn't get out before the explosion.

Wolverine #19- Tiger Shark punches La Bandera into a bunch of crates. The locals support La Bandera, and one of them throws something at Tiger Shark. Tiger Shark breaks it in two as it nears. La Bandera blasts Tiger Shark off the pier with her staff. They start celebrating until Tiger Shark bursts through the dock back up. The people start running, and Tiger Shark knocks the staff out of her hands. Tiger Shark gets ready to kill her, but suddenly Wolverine is on Tiger Shark’s back. Tiger Shark says it’s another hero. He says he hates heroes. Tiger Shark throws Wolverine into a wall. He says the reason he wound up a cripple before becoming Tiger Shark was because he was trying to be a hero. Tiger Shark walks towards La Bandera, but Wolverine rips a leak in the water within Tiger Shark’s suit. Wolverine and La Bandera want to keep Tiger Shark between them and not let him get any water, but Tiger Shark jumps right into the air and reaches the water. Later, as Wolverine has Geist take him to someone called Roughhouse Geist walks him through a place that has access to the sea. Tiger Shark grabs Wolverine from behind into the water. Wolverine tries to get away, but gets sucked out a tube into the ocean. Tiger Shark grabs Wolverine as he tries to surface.

Wolverine #20- Wolverine and Tiger Shark sink into the sea. Wolverine slices Shark's shoulder, which allows him to kick him in the shoulder. Wolverine goes up and get a breath of air. Shark rejoins him on the surface. Shark grabs Wolverines hands, claws popped, and swims rapidly to the coral shelf. Shark drives Wolverine's claws right into the coral and leaves him there to drown. Shark rejoins his employer's aide Geist. La Bandera's powered staff loses power as her fellow rebels die. Shark hits La Bandera. Seems La Bandera was Tiger Shark's Act of Vengeance. La Bandera uses her staff to trip Shark into Geist. La Bandera runs for it. Tiger Shark doesn't answer Geist's shouts because it would give away his position. Shark leaps for La Bandera, but lands on Wolverine's claws. Seems when Tiger Shark drove Wolvie into the coral he shattered it. Wolverine kept kicking and got loose. Wolverine slices Shark and knocks him over a railing. Wolverine frees Roughhouse. He loads Roughhouse, some nun with a calming effect on Roughhouse, La Bandera, and some hostages onto a helicopter. But as the copter is taking off Tiger Shark springs from the sea and starts pulling the copter down. Tiger Shark gets the copter down to the water when he is attacked by sharks. The blood from the cuts Wolverine gave him cause the sharks to attack him.

Marvel Comics Presents #77- Barnibus Lucian Cross is tracking Tiger Shark. Cross has hired Mr. Dice to capture Shark. Cross notes how sharks do not get cancer and have incredible immune systems. Cross wants to dissect Tiger Shark to find a way to transfer those good attributes to the regular man. Dice's men electrify Tiger Shark. They go to capture him, but he was playing possum. Shark kills a few of them. They encase him in a bubble that cuts him off from water and then heats and dehydrates him. Namor sees Tiger Shark captured and decides he can't allow them to experiment on him. Namor defeats them. Tiger Shark is less than grateful and tells Namor not to leave so that once his strength returns he can fight him.

Namor #34- Tiger Shark stands with his wife Mara and the band of nomads that they belong to. A scout reports to Shark that every place he goes there is nothing but death. He senses an evil. Shark talks with his wife about his unborn child. He remarks that he never thought he could be this content. Just then the Faceless Ones attack and drag off Mara. Shark cries and screams as his wife and unborn child are killed. Shark freaks and starts killing the Faceless Ones. Hours later after non stop fighting one of the Faceless Ones is behind Shark. He is saved by the spear of Tamara. For the first time Shark realizes that everyone from his nomad tribe is dead. Shark says he will go with Tamara to warn Atlantis. Namor is encountering the dead all around him. His mother and Seth are back alive, and "ghosts, they say, walk the borderlands".

Namor #35- Tiger Shark starts killing guards when they will not admit he and Tamara. Namor hits Tiger Shark. Namor wants to know why he should possibly want to help Tiger Shark. Tiger Shark hits back. The two brawl until Tamara brings it to a halt. Tamara tells Namor of the Faceless Ones. Fen, Namor's resurrected mother, tries tio dispel the possibility of a coming evil. Seth, also returned from the dead, sees Fen. He says he didn't realize that she too had escaped the Old Ones. Tiger Shark says he can smell the stench of the Faceless Ones on both Seth and Fen. As far away the Old Ones kill Fen's brother Byrrah Fen smiles and orders Tiger Shark to be confined. Byrrah's death opens the doors for the Old Ones.

Namor #36- Suma-Ket, Lord of the Old Ones, and former king of Atlantis was banished long ago to state of "not quite death". Now with the doors open Suma-Ket will not be forgotten again. Suma-Ket kills four more Atlanteans to bring back the four sisters of death, the Neried. Suma then asks his servent Socus how his Fen is doing. And she sits upon the throne of Atlantis. Seth tells Namor he and Fen were prisoners of the Faceless Ones, but that he escaped. Fen goes along with the tale. Once alone Socus appears before Fen and tells her Seth must die by the Neried. Fen says she wants Tiger Shark killed as well. The Neried appears before Tiger Shark and bewitch him saying they will take him to Mara. Tamara snaps him out of it, and Shark breaks the chains that bound him. Namor rescues Seth, but the Neried appear before Namor as Marrina and Dorma. Namor knows they are dead and attacks killing one. The Neried flee, but vow vengence. Tiger Shark emerges from the dungeons with Tamara. They decide Atlantis is unsafe.

Namor #37- Suma-Ket watches as Namor, Tiger Shark, and the others come to him. Suma-Ket needs Namor to die. Tiger Shark's sense of smell tells him that the Faceless Ones were here in abundance. They all dig to a cavern where Seth was held. Suddenly thousands of Faceless Ones are upon them. When they awaken they are in enchanted chains. Suma-Ket kills Namor. After Suma-Ket leaves Father Neptune arrives. He frees Shark and the others. He brings Namor back to life, and gives him the sacred armor of ancient Atlantis.

Namor #38- Vashti, looking for Namor, is saved by Tamara from one of the Neried by hurling her staff through its chest. Tiger Shark goes to kill the other two, but Namor stops him because they'll need the remaining two Neried to defeat Suma-Ket. Vashti tells the group how Fen is really Suma-Ket's slain wife Artys-Gran and that she has gathered Atlantis' children for sacrifice to her dark gods. Namor tells Tamara to go with Tiger Shark to stop "Fen". He, Seth, and Morel have to go elsewhere. Tiger Shark calls him a chicken. Namor and Shark fight. Namor knocks Shark down, but Tamara steps in to take Tiger Shark with her. Fen selects a child for slaughter.

Namor #39- Namor is drawn to the grave of his mother. He opens it to find his mother's soul trapped in the body of Artys-Gran. When the casket opens the fake Fen pauses. Tamara and Tiger Shark grab the baby that "Fen" had sought to slaughter. They reveal her as an Old One in disguise. Dara grabs the fake Fen, but is killed as a traitor. And so though not the baby a blood sacrifice has been made and the doors of Atlantis open for Suma-Ket. Namor and his real mother teleport to block Suma-Ket's way.

Namor #40- Fen's body is slain by Seth when he hears of his brother's death. The Faceless Ones surround Tiger Shark, Tamara, and Namor. Tiger Shark starts tearing into the Faceless Ones. Namor is felled and still feels the wound from when Ket killed him. The real Fen speaks to the crowd of Atlantis and their fear fades, as does Ket's power. The Atlanteans join Namor outside to fight. Namor kills Suma-Ket with the trident of Neptune. Socus kills the real Fen.

Namor #46- Xlyym arrives on Earth to flood it so that his people might have a planet to possess, and so that he might rule them. Skeletron warns Xlyym not to fail him and leaves Earth. Xlyym is angry that Skeletron seems to have forgotten that it was he who created the skull huggers that bend their wearer’s to his will. A red skinned woman, wearing a skull-hugger, tries to comfort him. Xlyym plans to shift the Earth’s axis and melt the polar ice caps. Remora sees the arrival and notices that Triton is fighting them. He swims off to warn Tiger Shark. Arlys asks what is the meaning of the intrusion. Remora tells him the about the ship, the alien creatures, and the “red-skinned babes with funny hats”. Tamara hears “red-skinned babes” and comes out. She tells Remora that they will take them to the “red-skinned babes” if he values his life. As Triton is defeating his attackers Xlyym tells his red-skinned companion Trieste to show them how it is done. Trieste and her huge servant Zun attack Triton. As Triton and Trieste are locked up Tiger Shark plows into Triton. Tamara hears Banari being spoken and she recognizes her sister Trieste. While Triton is busy with Tiger Shark, Zun pounds Triton unconscious with one hit. Tamara and Tiger Shark follow Trieste and Zun while Zun carries Triton to Xlyym’s ship. Inside Tamara is shocked that Xlyym is Trieste’s consort. Xlyym explains that all the male Banari have abandoned or died. Tamara explains that they were accidentally killed by Atlanteans. Xlyym asks Tiger Shark and Tamara if they will join him willingly or if they will require a skull-hugger like Triton did. Tiger Shark and Tamara watch as Xlyym dispatches Triton. Triton fights Namor. Trieste orders an attack on the prince of the people who murdered their males.

Namor #47- Stingray saves Namor from Trieste and the Banari. Namor saves Stingray from the mind controlled Triton by ripping off the skull hugger. When Tamara sees that Triton is okay she figures that she can remove her sister’s and her people’s skull-huggers. Tamara tells Tiger Shark to take care of Xlyym while she frees her sister. Tiger Shark jumps onto Xlyym and bites his tentacle right off. As the blood pours out of Xlyym he starts to black out. Tiger Shark swims out of the ship with the tentacle to feed Remora. Xlyym manages to activate his ship to get away. Namor is still weakened from the salt draining weapons of the Banari. Trieste is about to kill Namor when Tamara’s spear goes through Trieste’s skull-hugger. Namor tries to stop Xlyym’s departing ship, but he gets away. As Trieste dies she explains to Tamara that because of her long exposure to the skull hugger that the skull hugger has bypassed certain parts of her body that she can now no longer survive without. Trieste asks Tamara to destroy Xlyym’s monoliths that will destroy the world and that power the skull-huggers. She wants Tamara to free their people though it will kill them. Namor tries to comfort Tamara, but Tiger Shark shoves him away. Later Tamara and Tiger Shark stay outside as Namor gets Stingray back to Hydro-Base to get oxygen and trace Xlyym. Tiger Shark gazes through the window at his sister Diane. Tamara starts to give him the evil eye, but Tiger Shark explains that she is only his sister. He then realizes that mentioning the word “sister” was the wrong thing to do. He apologizes to Tamara. Later Tamara, Tiger Shark, and Triton search the equator where Trieste said Xlyym’s monoliths should be. They arrive at the mouth of the Amazon River. Tamara is grabbed by a tentacle and pulled into the ocean floor. Tiger Shark and triton try to help, but are also sucked in.

Fantastic Four #385- The Fantastic Four trace a call from Namor, and on their way they find Triton and Tiger Shark being pulled under by some strange tentacles. They get them freed, but then Tiger Shark is in a frenzy. He rushes towards Lyja. Lyja changes appearances into a giant squid thing. The shock seems to bring him back. Back aboard their ship Tiger Shark says that he didn’t mean to attack the lady. They ask Tiger Shark for an update, but Shark says that nothing matters now that Tamara is dead. Lyja says that she recognizes the technology being used and tells Shark that Tamara isn’t dead but rather a prisoner. Lyja has a chemical that will stop the tentacles from trying to control them. Shark, Triton, Torch, and Lyja then allow themselves to be pulled down where they find Tamara being held prisoner. They start to free her, but she is being controlled. Tiger Shark knocks her out and puts her over his shoulder. Tiger Shark quickly swims out saying that Tamara is the only one he cares about, and everybody else can drown for all he cares.

Namor #48- Ant-Man flies Tamara and Tiger Shark out to the ocean. He says that he doesn’t have a helmet to breathe air underwater so he must leave them now to go help Lyja deliver her baby. Tamara thanks him. Tiger Shark says, “Yeah, thanks a heap, Ant-Guy”, but adds after he leaps out, “What a toad.” Tamara needs to know if they destroyed the monoliths because their destruction means the deaths of her Banari sisters. Shark realizes that she must choose between her race and the surface world, and that it is a tough choice for her, but that he doesn’t really care either way. They spot the Fantastic Four’s Stealth-Hawk and head for it. Aboard the ship Tiger Shark sees Thing and says, “Hey…hey…Rock-Man right?” and then asks where Namor is. Namor is on his way to destroying one of the monoliths. Namor blacks out and Sue heads down after him. She blacks out when she encounters the Banari. Namor recovers and grabs Sue from the Banari. He isn’t going to make it back so Tiger Shark goes out and saves them both. Zun grabs up the bomb and takes it to the monolith. The thing explodes and the Banari die. Tamara tells Tiger Shark that she is the last of her race. She says that there is water coming out of her eyes. Tiger Shark explains that they are tears.

Fantastic Four #386- Tiger Shark and the others are shaken up by a seaquake from the Earth Thruster exploding. Thing can’t get the Stealthhawk’s engines to start. Namor says that he and Tiger Shark can get out and push them to safety. Tiger Shark says that he could, but he doesn’t care what happens to Namor’s air breathing buddies. Tamara asks Shark to help so he concedes. Outside as they push Namor tries to thank Tiger Shark, but he says to save it and that he isn’t out there for him. Namor says that nevertheless he is in Tiger Shark’s debt. Shark says that he will see if that holds the next time he tries to take Atlantis. Tamara vows vengeance against Xlyym for the death of the Banari. Later, as she stands next to Tiger Shark, Tamara looks on jealously as Namor speaks with Susan. She interrupts them saying that she has detected a transmission. From the transmission they track Xlyym’s ship as he tries to create a giant tidal wave to flood the Earth. Sue blasts the ship with a rocket. Thing freaks about the killing question, but Tamara applauds her efforts. Tiger Shark remains behind with Thing on the Stealthhawk as the others go to check Xlyym’s ship for survivors. They manage to get the lone survivor Xlyym aboard the Stealthhawk. Xlyym says that he expects to be held as an Interstellar Prisoner of War. Tamara then brutally slays Xlyym for his crimes against the Banari.

Namor #54- Remora sees Llyra leaving a cave with a man (whom he doesn't know is her son). He goes to tell Tamara and Tiger Shark. Tamara is setting out Tiger Shark's dinner. Remora tells Shark about Llyra heading to Atlantis with a man who looked like Namor, and Shark says it sounds like good sport to him.

Namor #55- As Llyron is being presented to the Council of Three a guard interrupts as Tiger Shark is seen headed for Atlantis. Atlantean guards attack Tiger Shark and Tamara. Tiger Shark is tackled from behind by Llyron. Tamara fights with Llyra. Llyron hits Tiger Shark, but Shark angles around and grabs Llyron and slashes across his stomach. Llyron hits Tiger Shark and remarks how Shark's fighting style is the same as the last time they teamed. Shark doesn't realize that Llyron shares all of his mother's memories. Shark smashes Llyron with a rock, but Llyron smashes through the rock. Remora tells Namor about Llyron. Llyron and Llyra tie up the beaten Tiger Shark and Tamara. Namor and Llyron fight. Namor gets Shark and Tamara down and takes them with him.

Namor #56- Tiger Shark and Tamara are placed in a type of life support machine inside Namor's new underwater city Biosphere Hydropolis. They might have died if not for Namor's rescue.

Namor #58- Tiger Shark, Tamara, Andromeda, Triton, and Stingray gather to help Namor as he is wanted a terrorist. Tiger Shark says he can find Namor by smelling for his blood, and the others follow him. The group comes upon Namor fighting the Avengers. Thunderstrike hits Andromeda with his hammer. Tiger Shark grabs his face and smashes the back of his head against the floor. Tiger Shark and Thunderstrike go at it (as does the others) until Crystal causes a maelstrom. Namor grabs her. Thunderstike is dizzy, and Shark pounces and goes to bite down on Thunderstike's lungs. Namor kicks Shark off. Shark gets ticked and leaves. Tamara follows.
