Stryfe
Stryfe, the
Chaos-Bringer, is a scientific abomination. Stryfe was created to
save the world from Apocalypse. Cable was near death when Racheal
Summers decided to clone her "brother". They say power
corrupts, and that absolute power corrupts absolutely. That was
never more true than in Stryfe's case. Stryfe was raised without
benefit of love. His every anger was encouraged. Stryfe now knows
the truth about his being a clone. He prefers to think of Cable
as a first draft with him being the finished product. Stryfe now
embraces his role as a spoiler. As a life that never should have
been Stryfe enjoys taking lives.

into a mechanical wall. Scott sees the kid looks like his baby
Nathan. They begin to suspect who Stryfe is. Stryfe informs them
that he and the Dark Riders will be defeated, and all they have
to do is allow the Dark Riders to kill the baby. When Stryfe sees
them fighting for the child he is stunned. He begins to doubt his

Madelyne turns on Cable and Nate, but tells Stryfe not to kill the two when Cable escapes with Nate because they are worthless now. Stryfe creates an image of himself and Madelyne to tell the people that he is now their ruler. Cable tells Nate that Stryfe's pyramid allows Stryfe to drain all the pychic power within it. Nate has already begun to regenerate his power. They rush in. Madelyne offers information on Nate for more power. Nate bursts in and Madelyne shoots all her power into Nate. Stryfe sucks power from Madelyne, the power that was keeping her alive. Cable takes her outside while Nate fights Stryfe. Just like before however, Stryfe begins to drain all his power. Nate moves Doom's power sapping machine onto Stryfe. The machine is sucking the power out while Stryfe's pyramid is routing it back into Stryfe. Nate escapes before the explosion. X-Men annual 2000-
Gambit and Bishop: Sons of the Atom #1- behind the scenes- Gambit knows that something is up when he returns to the mansion and everyone that wasnt supposed to be there is. Xavier, Beast, Nightcrawler, Storm, Rogue, and Psylocke are there testing Bishop in some machine. They show Gambit that Bishop has some strange substance running through his body. Gambit randomly attacks the X-Men. Stryfe is mentally controlling Professor X, Beast, and Nightcrawler, but Storm, Rogue, and Psylocke are mental projections. Gambit creates a diversion so he and Bishop can escape. Gambit says that they cant fight Stryfe by themselves. He wants to take Bishop for some answers.
Gambit and Bishop: Sons of the Atom #2- Gambit takes Bishop to see the Witness. Bishop believes that Witness is an older version of Gambit from the future that exists in all timelines and knows pretty much everything that will happen. Witness takes them to see Stryfe. Stryfe is lying on the ground and asks them for their help.
Gambit and Bishop: Sons of the Atom #3- Stryfe says that he is after him and that he is going to kill him. Stryfe says that he needs their help. Gambit appropriately wonders why Stryfe is acting like a puppy with his tail between his legs. Bishop freaks and starts smacking Stryfe around. Stryfe says, Enough! He says that it is bad enough seeking out his enemies help, but he will not be battered around. Stryfe reminds them that he is power. They get up and Bishop says that he doesnt know why they shouldnt let Stryfe die. Gambit suggests they go out to eat. Stryfe mentally disguises them to look like regular people so that the people in the diner arent freaked out. Bishop asks again why they should help Stryfe after all the people that he has killed. Stryfe says that Bishop shouldnt judge him because he has no idea how screwed up his life was. Witness tells Stryfe that it is rude to eat with his helmet on. Stryfe goes on to recall his life and upbringing. Bishop freaks again and blasts Stryfe through the wall. He says that Stryfe cant be trying to justify his actions. Stryfe says that Bishop has no idea what it is like not to really exist. To be the imitation of one who is considered a savior. Stryfe fixes the wall as he goes and sits back down. He tells Gambit that someone is coming for him and that he cant stop him alone. Stryfe says that he is the one opponent that he hasnt been able to beat. Gambit sees Stryfes fear. Cable stands outside the diner.
Gambit and Bishop: Sons of the Atom #4- Stryfe says that they have all seen only a fraction of the power that Cable possesses, but that he knows what Cable is capable of. Gambit and Bishop still arent so sure why they should protect one of their worst enemies especially since Colossus just sacrificed himself to halt the Legacy Virus. Stryfe says that maybe it is time for him to do the honorable thing and accept his punishment. Witness reminds Gambit and Bishop that they are X-Men and arent supposed to be in the murdering business. Stryfe says that nobody has ever defended him before. Witness says that he isnt doing it for his benefit, but to make sure that X-Men dont become killers. Bishop realizes that Witness already knows their decision because he is presently in the future and the past as well as the present. Witness says that he cant tell them. Stryfe gets his lemon custard pie with extra whipped cream. Stryfe says that he understands that Witness cant tell them everything, but he just wants to know if he is going to die. Bishop says that Stryfe can rot, and that they came there to find answers about the symbiotic in him. Stryfe says that the symbiotic is known as Bete Noir. He says that it is a power beyond their imagining and that within Bishop and using his mutant powers Stryfe trails off. Gambit asks if Stryfe was going to try destroying the Earth again. Stryfe admits it. Suddenly Cable strikes and by the time Gambit and Bishop realize that they are seeing illusions Cable, Stryfe, and Witness are gone. They head back to the graveyard to find it covered with techno-organic circuitry.
Gambit and Bishop: Sons of the Atom #5- They manage to get over the circuitry, but Gambit asks who knew that Cable was this powerful. Bishop says that he isnt, but that Cable is co-opting Stryfes power. They head inside and it appears that Cable has severely beaten Stryfe, but Cable says that all he did is cause Stryfe to remember and feel the pain of everyone that he callously injured or murdered. Stryfe sits murmuring that he is so sorry. Cable says that he is going to kill Stryfe however. Gambit asks him why he would want to do that. Cable says that he got caught up in Xaviers dream, but he has come to realize that dreams are for sleeping people. Cable says that he has to change the future. Bishop and Gambit agree in theory, but that the future hasnt happened yet. Stryfe says that with Senator Kellys death that everything they thought they knew about the future is no longer. Bishop says that he cant see punishing Stryfe for crimes he hasnt committed yet. Cable tells Stryfe to tell them about Bete Noir. Stryfe says that it isnt an alien symbiotic, but a force similar to the Phoenix Force. In fact the Phoenix Force trapped it in the Earths core. It attached itself to Bishop as he traveled in time. Stryfe says that he was going to use Bete Noir and Bishop to destroy the Earth. Stryfe says that it is just his nature. He says that he doesnt want to be this way, but he just cant help it. Cable sets up to kill Stryfe when Bete Noir starts to come out of Bishops chest.
Gambit and Bishop: Sons of the Atom #6- Stryfe struggles to use his telekinetic power to contain Bete Noir. Cable says that he knows Stryfe was jus trying to control the Bete noir, but when he found that he couldnt he tried to make it look like he was saving the day. Stryfe says that he doesnt care what Cable thinks, but that if he doesnt help him that they are all going to die. Bishop surges and Stryfe says that he cant hold it anymore. Cable helps Stryfe. Stryfe says that this is all his fault. That he knew Bishop had the Bete Noir, and he manipulated the power into manifesting. Bishop says that the only way to stop Bete Noir is to kill him. Stryfe says that Bishop is wrong, and that there is one other option. Stryfe starts to suck Bete noir into himself. Stryfe realizes that if Bete Noir consumes him before it has a chance to get a foothold on Earth that it will be destroyed forever. Cable asks why Stryfe is trying to save the world he was going to destroy. A tear runs down Stryfes face. He tells Nathan that he is sorry for Colossus, Moira MacTaggert, his wife, and for all the others he killed. Stryfe explodes and drops into pieces on the ground. Gambit realizes that Cable might have just caused them to see Stryfe dying, and asks how they know that Cable didnt just kill him. Cable says that they dont.
