Thanos of Titan

Thanos of Titan, son of Mentor, brother of Starfox, and former god. Thanos was Death's most ardent worshipper. He loved Death more than anything, but has since been cast out of her realm. Thanos is now effectively an immortal. Thanos schemes in a pursuit of knowledge, power, and as a way to test himself against all.

Daredevil #105- flashback- While Moondragon recalls her childhood we see Thanos as a boy playing while his father Mentor watches.

Silver Surfer #37- flashback- At 10 Thanos murdered his mother.

Iron Man #55- flashback- Thanos seen with his father Mentor and his brother Starfox.

Silver Surfer #37- flashback- Eight years later Thanos killed another girl in the same fashion he killed his mother. Thanos fled Titan. Seen on the outer rims of the galaxy. It helped Thanos to use his powers in a more ruthless manner. Thanos survived and prospered there for 80 years.

Iron Man #55- flashback- Thanos attempts to take over Titan inventing weapons on a planet that didn't have weapons.

Avengers annual #7- During his first attempt to take over Titan Thanos dropped nuclear bombs on his homeworld.

Captain Marvel #32- flashback- Thanos on one of his first scouting missions to Earth killed a human family that managed to see him. The father became Drax and the daughter survived to become Moondragon.

Warlock and the Infinity Watch #12- flashback- Drax sees Thanos standing over him as he dies the first time after the accident.

Namor #44- flashback- Namor sails along on a ship with many Atlanteans through some type of poisonous waters. Namor sees the skeleton of a ship floating along. Namor flies onto the ship to find Thanos and Death. Thanos grabs the weakened Namor. He rips the wings off Namor’s ankles. Thanos then hits Namor back to his ship laughing the entire time.

Daredevil #107- flashback- Thanos' seen gathering his army and taking over other worlds

Iron Man #55- flashback- Thanos failed and was banished from Titan forever, but Thanos sought revenge. He collected an army of malcontents to work for him. Kronos created Drax for the purpose of defeating Thanos.

Warlock #10- both flashback and flash forward- Thanos uses a time machine to rescue Gamora. She by result is the only surviving member of her race. The Magus had the rest of her race killed because they would not worship him as a god.

Marvel Holiday Special 1993- flashback- At about five years of age Gamorra receives a doll for a sort of Christmas celebration. She asks Thanos if they can go up to the lagoon later to watch the dolphins. Thanos says perhaps. While Thanos works Xtoral Laxtan, who has taken a blood oath to avenge Thanos' murder of his family, sneaks into Thanos' ship. As he is about to shoot Thanos Gammora knocks his blast wayward by hitting him with her doll. Thanos turns around and disintegrates the man with his blast. Thanos realizes that Gamorra had watched the gruesome death. He sees her doll was scorched in the blast. He offers to replace it, but Gamorra says that she will make her dolly better. Thanos tells her that he will take her to the lagoon after he cleans the lab.

Marvel Holiday Special 1993- flashback- In what looks to be her teen years Gamorra trains before Thanos.

Warlock and the Infinity Watch #9-flashback- Thanos watches as a 15 year old Gamorra trains. Later on Thanos instructs Gamorra to remain with his ship as he attends to business on Tartoonla #7. Gamorra disobeyed. When she awakens from the beatings and abuse the local thugs put her through she sees Thanos standing over her. Her attackers lay dead all around her. Thanos picks her up and as he carries her back to the ship he realizes he is partially to blame because of the sheltered life he has given her. Thanos replaced all the broken pieces of her with an indestructible skeletal form and quite a few mechanical parts. Gamorra realizes she is better off this way since being human only brought her pain and loneliness. Thanos places his hand on her shoulder and says he is proud of her for learning that valuable lesson.

Daredevil #105- Thanos seen destroying the Titan monastery. Moondragon was the only one who survived. She vows vengence.

Iron Man #54- behind the scenes- Moondragon was on Earth and caused Iron Man to fight Sub-Mariner in order to look for and study the possiblilty of finding Thanos' thralls.

Iron Man #55- (flashback)- after defeating all Thanos' army Drax fights Thanos himself. The planet they fight on cracks beneath them. Drax finally loses and Thanos takes him prisoner.

Avengers #118- Thanos attacks the monsters caused by the merging of Dormammu's and our realities starting.

Iron Man #55- Thanos allows Drax to send out his mental warning to Iron Man to beware Thanos' influence on Earth. After his thralls, the Blood Brothers, defeat Iron Man they contact Thanos to inform him that they are bringing Iron Man back. When they arrive Iron Man manages to escapr the Bllod Brothers. Iron Man attempts to free Drax. Iron Man hits the floor when the backfire from Drax's shackles hits him. While down Thanos stomps on Iron Man's hand. He gives hiom back to the Blood Brothers. When Iron Man and Drax escape again Thanos escapes while they fight the Blood Brothers.

Daredevil #107- Thanos seen on Earth looking for the Cosmic Cube.

Captain Marvel #25- Through his robot's findings, and then by Captain Marvel's own admission, Thanos discovers that Captain Marvel has lost half his power. Thanos wants that power. Thanos' thralls Skragg and Super Skrull manage to knock out Captain Marvel who turns back into Rick Jones. They contact Thanos and tell him that Cap's powers are lower because he converts sunlight into power and it is currently night. Skragg brags on and on. Rick was playing possum and transforms into Marvel. Since it is now daytime Captain Marvel is at full strength. While fighting the Super Skrull the building they are in collapses and the skrulls get away.

Captain Marvel #26- Rick's girlfriend reveals that she is controlled by the Controller who works for Thanos. Though Rick thinks her free Skragg still controls her every move and action. Thanos sends out Super Skrull to engage the Thing. He tells the Thing to meet him at an address. Skragg gets Lou Ann to have Marvel go to the same address. They immobilize Thing's vocal cords so that Marvel thinks him a skrull. They want Marvel to kill Thing and destroy his ideals, but Marvel holds back. Thing regains his voice and talks to Marvel. Thanos and Death leave Skragg and stone statue for his failure. Marvel and Thing come face to face with Thanos, Death, and the Super Skrull. Thing goes to hit them, but Thanos knocks out Thing with a wave of his hand. Thanos then forces Marvel to turn back into Rick Jones and teleports everyone away.

Captain Marvel #27- Thanos has one of his thralls place Rick Jones in a machine that extracts all the information within his mind. Afterwards Thanos has Rick locked up. He plays back Rick's recent history. After that he goes into Rick's subconscious and learns the location of the Cosmic Cube. Thanos leaves Super Skrull in charge as he goes back to the Earth to get the Cube. Thanos gives Skrull his Unisphere that will protect him if the Destroyer attacks. Just as Thanos, walking with Death, is about to claim the Cube the Destroyer blocks his way. Cap, Mentor, and Starfox attack Thanos' base. Marvel fights Super Skrull to try to erase the tapes Thanos took from Rick's mind. Cap erases the tapes and is transported to Avengers mansion by Mentor.

Captain Marvel #28- One by one, as Captain Marvel talks with the Avengers about Thanos, the Controller (another thrall of Thanos) is defeating Avengers left and right. He has come for Lou-ann. Meanwhile Thanos transports Destroyer to the Time-Mind-Sync-Warp to fight. Destroyer collapses and Thanos takes the Cosmic Cube. Controller defeats Marvel by burying him in rubble. Rick Jones finds himself the one trapped and he finds that hitting the bracelets doesn't bring back Cap.

Captain Marvel #29- Thanos used the Cosmic Cube to imprison his father Mentor and his brother Starfox. Thanos discovers that Captain Marvel has been seperated from his host Rick Jones. Event the Cube can't find him. Eon tells Cap that Chronos created him to wait for Captain Marvel because he forsaw the coming of Thanos. Eon alters Cap's power attuning him to the universe. He alters him from warrior to protector.

Captain Marvel #30- Thanos yells at Controller for assembling all the mind controlled people because it might blow his cover before he invades. He then informs Controller that Captain Marvel is coming for Lou-Ann and that if Controller does not kill Marvel he will be sorry. Cap dumps Controller out the window. Controller comes back and grabs Cap. Cap turns on the cosmic awareness letting him know exactly when to strike. Cap knocks him out of the building to keep the fight away from Lou-Ann. Cap is winning the fight so Thanos shows Controller how disappointed he is by killing him. Thanos says he knows the Cube's true worth. He plans to use the Cube for one wish.

Marvel Feature #12- Thanos gives permission to the Blood Brothers to kill Iron Man. Thanos watches his thralls fight through the Cosmic Cube. He commends them for downing Thing and Iron Man. When the two get back up and are defeat the Blood Brothers he uses the Cube to make the two disappear.

Captain Marvel #31- Drax, Moondragon, and Captain Marvel ally themselves with the Avengers to stop Thanos. This angers Thanos and decides that it is time for the killings to begin. Thanos then talks with Death restating his love to her. As a present he will give her Earth. Once they present a united front Thanos teleports Captain Marvel, Drax, Iron Man, and Moondragon into his presence. Thanos uses the Cube to line up the four next to his already held in check father and brother. Thanos reveals how his first deed with the Cosmic Cube was to fix the impurity within the Cube caused by mineral mutation. Thanos shows them the fleet he has amassed for destroying Earth. When Mentor mentions to Thanos that Chronos will stop him Thanos shows them that he already holds Chronos prisoner. While Thanos gloats Cap manages to hit his wristbands together breaking the hold on him and the others as he turns back to Rick Jones. Everyone attacks but mentor. Thanos knocks them all back. Mentor uses Isaac the computer (who works for both Thanos and Mentor) to change the course of Titan. While the moon shakes Captain Marvel kicks the Cube from Thanos hand. Everyone tries to stop Thanos from regaining the Cube. Thanos first knocks aside Starfox and Iron Man. He then smacks down the Destroyer. Finally Captain Marvel manages to slow Thanos. He continues hitting Thanos and actually angers him. That is until Thanos grabs hold of Marvel's foot and slams him against the floor into unconsciousness. Thanos goes top pick up the Cube, but is stopped by Moondragon. They engage in mind war and as Thanos puts it, "…Thanos prevails as always!" Thanos takes the Cube, retraps the six, and orders Titan back into its orbit. Thanos begins the Grand Transformation. Thanos merges with the Cube, which frees the heroes. Thanos was changed into all things in the universe. He has become Thanos the god.

Captain Marvel #32- Destroyer refuses to stop and attacks Thanos. The others flee before the base explodes. Mentor must remain behind to medically attend Moondragon, who caught some shrapnel. Mentor instructs them to get to Isaac to find a way to defeat Thanos. Thanos uses the trees to try and stop Iron Man, Starfox, and Captain Marvel. Starfox remains trapped, but the other two carry on. Destroyer emerges from the wreckage. Cap and Iron Man make it to Isaac. Marvel took with the now empty Cosmic Cube with him. Thanos creates monsters from metal and concrete to kill Iron Man and Marvel. Iron Man is knocked out and Cap remains to fight alone. Thanos stands by Death presenting her with the universe. Drax goes to confront Thanos again. Thanos unlocks Drax's mind and reveals that Thanos killed Art Douglas, Drax's former self, and his wife Yvette. Heather, his daughter, survived to become Moondragon. And Chronos intercepted his soul to be his warrior. Isaac presents himself in holographic form to Cap Marvel. Cap figures out that if he transforms to Rick the metal monsters will stop attacking. Rick gets Isaac to teleport him back to Earth. Rick goads Thanos into a fistfight with Captain Marvel

Captain Marvel #33- Thanos trounces Marvel pretty easily. Thanos sees the Avengers fighting his fleet.

Avengers #125- The fleet gets upset when the Avengers come to oppose them. Thanos tells them to shut up and fight. The Avengers defeat Thanos' fleet of ships that he sent to destroy Earth. They even divine that Thanos had only sent the fleet as a part of a plan and never expected them to actually win.

Captain Marvel #33- The Avengers take off to aid in the fight against Thanos. At this point Thanos places Avengers outside the time phase of the Earth all but assuring they will not interfere. Drax and Marvel attack yet again. Marvel, Mantis and Isaac (as mental projections) theorize that Thanos needs believers to exist as a "god". Since he has no believers Thanos must still be getting his power from somewhere. Cap realizes that Thanos is still drawing power from the Cube. Thanos knows Cap knows too much. Cap accidentally drops the Cube. Cap needs to get the Cube back to stop Thanos, but Thanos is altering reality to keep the Cube away from him. Marvel uses his new cosmic awareness to reach the Cube. Once Cap reaches the Cube he destroys it and the universe is freed of Thanos' bond to it.

Warlock #10- flashback- When Captain Marvel smashed the cube instead of killing Thanos it simply forced Thanos to revert to his mortal form.

Avengers annual #7- flashback- Thanos planning for the possibility of his loss planned for a space-ark to come and rescue him. After rescued Thanos found that his failure caused him to fall out of favor with Death so he set out to cause Stellar Genocide. Thanos searched long to find the secret to life and death. He found a scroll that told of six beautiful and deadly gems. He stole the first from the Stranger. The second he took off a prison satellite. The third he found in a cavern on Deneb IV. The fourth he killed a monster named Xiambor for. The fifth he found after the Gardener had abandoned it.

Strange Tales #180- behind the scenes- Gamorra seeks to ally herself with Warlock in an attempt to kill the Magus.

Strange Tales #181- behind the scenes- Gamorra holds an off duty guard at knife point until he tells her where Warlock is being held and that they are trying to "recondition" him. They break in to rescue him, but Warlock manages to free himself just as they go to free him. Gamorra, Warlock, and Pip come face to face with Magus.

Warlock #8- behind the scenes- Secretly working for Thanos Gamora allies herself with Adam Warlock.

Warlock #9- Gamier manages to go undetected by the Magus, Warlock's evil future self. Once Pip is knocked out Magus reveals his origin to Warlock. As he does Gamora mentally contacts Thanos. Gamora, as instructed, waits until Magus is enthralled to attack with a special knife suited for slaying Magus. Magus sets in motion the series of events that cause his origin. The In-Betweener will come for Adam Warlock, however after Magus leaves the new element enters the room, Thanos.

Warlock #10- Along with Gamora, Pip, and Adam Warlock Thanos fights off 25, 000 "Black Knight" worshippers of Magus. During retreat Thanos is separated from Warlock, Gamora, and Pip. Warlock leads them through a cave, not really knowing where he is going. He encounters the matriarch that Magus killed. When Warlock questions why it is so mysterious and hard Thanos appears before him and explains that it is because that is how life is. Unlike Thanos, who has chosen Death, Warlock has chosen the path of the living. Either Warlock must be one with this life or be destroyed. The only way to do this is pay the price of pain. Thanos remained behind to give Warlock and the others time to run. He then teleported himself away, and with time on his hand Thanos teleported all to his space vessel, Sanctuary. Thanos reveals that he is helping Warlock because Warlock's Soul Gem will be of use to Thanos in the future and that he would rather deal with Warlock later than Magus. Besides the fact that Magus may prove to be a thorn in Thanos' side in the future. Thanos has explored Warlock's past and future for his own needs. Thanos then shows his time machine Knowledge I, and explains how he went into the future to rescue Gamora, the lone survivor of her race, from the "reindoctrination" of her people ordered by the Magus. He then trained her and raised her with the goal of her killing the Magus. Thanos hoped by these events to create enough of a rift in the timeline to prevent Warlock from becoming Magus. Thanos tells Warlock that his soul must be destroyed to keep it from becoming the Magus. Magus learns of Thanos' existence. He finds him and takes off after them

Avengers annual #7-flashback- Warlock later discovered that instead of taking the Soul Gem from Adam while he was "helping" Warlock he siphoned off the elements he needed from the gem.

Warlock #11- Magus and his Black Knights arrive on Sanctuary. Thanos convinces Adam to use the Soul Gem to defeat the Death Squad. Magus tries to grab Warlock, but Thanos blasts him away. Warlock runs into Knowledge I to do what must be done. Thanos remains behind and battles Magus. Magus then realizes Thanos' true motivation behind Thanos' actions. Chaos and Order wanted Magus to become so that he might battle a champion of Death- Thanos is that champion. Thanos wanted to destroy Magus before he ever existed. Warlock uses his Soul Gem to steal his own soul (actually happens in Avengers annual #7) and stops the creation of the Magus. Magus had been dominating Thanos, but soon he begins to fade from existence. Thanos laughs. Gamora rejoins Thanos' side and Thanos goes off to plan for his total stellar genocide.

Warlock #15- In order to give her something to do, in addition to allowing him to work on his total stellar genocide goal without prying eyes watching, Thanos sends Gamora out to be Warlock's personal bodyguard. He needs Warlock's gem in the future and would have her protect that interest. As she goes to find him the Destroyer comes and crashes into her ship.

Incredible Hulk vol. 2 #248- flashback- Thanos tracks down the Collector's Soul Gem on a barren lunar planet

Avengers annual #7- flashback- Thanos took the properties of Adam's Soul Gem that he stole and used the same process to the other five gems he had stolen. He then took those properties and created a large synthetic gem. Gamora stumbled across this and he killed her.

Avengers annual #7- Adam Warlock finds Thanos' base destroyed and Gamora fatally wounded. She discovered his stellar genocide plan and he left her for dead. Thanos flies up to a sun and destroys it killing millions. The Avengers, Captain Marvel, Moondragon all had a premonition to be together to meet with Warlock so that he might help them stop Thanos. Thanos grabs up Pip. An armada heads toward Earth. The Avengers go to stop them. Iron Man and Thor attack the ships directly while the others go to the head ship, Sanctuary II, to use it against the others. Marvel finds Warlock mourning Pip, who has had his mind destroyed. Warlock uses his Soul Gem on him. By doing this Warlock finds where Thanos is- a twin ship on the other side of the sun, Sanctuary III. Our sun, Sol, flares ready to explode when Captain Marvel smashes into Thanos' projector. Cap is out but warlock confronts Thanos. Thanos floors him with one punch and a burst of energy. Marvel awakens to see Warlock stealing his own soul from Warlock #11. Thor and Iron man show up following Warlock and Marvel. Thor engages Thanos while Iron Man destroys the synthetic gem. Thanos teleports out to initiate the secondary plan. Warlock is inside the Soul Gem with Pip and Gamora.

Marvel Two-In-One annual #2- Thanos' thralls finally overcome the Avengers on the original ship. Thanos then uses a massive weapon to pick off Thor, Iron Man, and Marvel heading back to the Sanctuary II. The Avengers are placed in stasis beams. Thanos is brought Warlock's body, and Thanos removes the Soul Gem from his head. This gem will be enough to destroy our sun. Moondragon contacts Spider-Man who contacts the Thing to get into space. They fight the thralls until Thanos creates zero gravity and the thrall knocks them out. When they awaken Thanos explains his plan and Thing tries to knock him out. Thanos floors Thing with a simple release of energy. Spider-Man runs. Spidey decides to try and free the Avengers instead of running for his life since Thanos would just go blow up the sun anyway. Spidey crashes through the machine keeping the Avengers in stasis. Thor and Thing fight Thanos while the other Avengers fight the thralls. Thanos defeats the Thing, and is close to defeating Thor when Spider-Man realizes his purpose there. Spider-Man frees the Soul Gem from it's casing. A powerful Adam Warlock emerges from the gem and takes hold of Thanos. A burst of light later Thanos stands before the Avengers as a stone statue.

Death of Captain Marvel Graphic Novel- Captain Mar-Vell dies of cancer. In the realm of death the Thanos statue comes to life and walks to Mar-Vell's bed. Thanos says it pains him to see Mar-Vell dying so weakly. Thanos says he respects Mar-Vell and has him rise, whole again, and in full costume. Thanos says he will give Mar-Vell one last battle. He takes Mar-Vell to the heart of the Universe. Thanos says he is going to go destroy it unless Mar-Vell stops him. Mar-Vell tackles Thanos, and Thanos turns into the souls of Mar-Vell's dead enemies. Through battle with Thanos and the others Thanos lets Mar-Vell see and accept Death. Thanos and Mar-Vell take Death's hands and they cross over.

Silver Surfer vol. 3 #34- Silver Surfer comes to rest on a lifeless planet. As he sleeps for the first time in years a giant skull building forms out of the ground. Surfer enters the building to find two of Death’s lackeys carrying a locked trunk. They say that they don’t even want to think about what she has planned. Surfer realizes that he is dreaming when he notices that they don’t react to him. He follows the lackeys as they carry the trunk. Death orders them to open the trunk. As they open it the lackeys stand back. A mist escapes from the trunk and forms into the shape of Thanos’ face. Thanos says, “Free at last.” Thanos asks how he may serve his mistress. The lackey says that Death is concerned about the imbalance between the forces of life and death. Death requires him to correct that balance. Thanos says he will do anything for his mistress. One lackey mentions that Thanos has promised this before and failed. The other says that now that Thanos has crossed through the veil his power has reached a new plateau. The lackey also says that Death has seen Thanos’ future and his only obstacle is, and with this the lackey turns and points to the Surfer, the Silver Surfer. Thanos asks if that gleaming gnat is his adversary. He unleashes a portion of his power. Surfer reels backward with a pain he never felt before. He leaves the building to see thousands of dead on the planet. Surfer sees an infant thrown into a volcano. Surfer saves the baby only to have it attack him as it turns into a monster. Surfer awakes on the barren planet. He tries to think of all the things the dream could mean. Suddenly a voice behind Surfer says, “Perhaps it was a premonition.” Surfer notices that the being is the same one from the dream. Thanos introduces himself.

Silver Surfer #35- Thanos has Silver Surfer come aboard his chair to explain Thanos' goals to him. Surfer warns Thanos not to separate him from his board. Thanos then teleports to Earth. Surer freaks when he realizes his board didn't come with. He blasts Thanos full force which annoys Thanos, but nothing else. Surfer stands down. Thanos informs Surfer that there are as many people alive on the Earth than in the combined history of the Earth. That medicine and science is extending the life span for far too long. He shows Surfer the amount of trash and pollution caused by people. He then teleports them to Salaria. He tells Surfer that the inhabitants know nothing of war or want. They live to eat and multiply. Thanos estimates that within 20 years they will be so overpopulated that the race will resort to warfare and cannibalism. Thanos teleports them away again. Thanos explains that his solution to this problem is to kill half the population of the universe. Surfer asks why he shouldn't stop him now. Thanos informs Surfer that while on Salaria he and Surfer introduced bacteria, that would've normally died during space travel, had infected the Salarians. Surfer could go save the unkilled half of the population or fight Thanos. As Surfer leaves Thanos laughs. Chronos hears and re-vitalizes Drax the Destroyer.

Silver Surfer #40- flashback- Silver Surfer brings the corpse of Geatar (believed to be Thanos) back to Mentor for burial. Silver Surfer goes to Dynamo City, where Thanos' was granted citizenship, for a hearing on his death, and to hear his last will and testament. Thanos' will manages to make it difficult for Surfer to leave Dynamo City because of the exit tax.

Silver Surfer #36- behind the scenes- Surfer informs the Avengers that Thanos is among the living.

Silver Surfer #37- behind the scenes- Drax comes to Surfer because he senses that Surfer will encounter Thanos again soon.

Silver Surfer #38- Thanos teleports aboard the Sanctuary III, currently under command of Nebula. Nebula claims to be Thanos' granddaughter. Nebula order Geatar to kill the "imposter". Thanos strikes him down with his eye beams. Thanos then sets Nebula ablaze with his eye beam for her "sins". The person Thanos sends to make sure she is dead helps keep her alive. After Thanos regains control he is summoned by Death. Death's minion speaks to Thanos. Death wants to know where the deaths are. Thanos explains that he must plan carefully. Thanos has a plan to take Surfer out of the contest for a bit. While Surfer is out looking for Thanos, Thanos contacts Surfer to tell him where he is. Thanos says it's time to settle their differences on Pyraxion. Surfer finds him and the fight begins. Thanos employs and hit and hide technique. Surfer finds Thanos and comes at him full force destroying the chair and killing Thanos, though unknown to Surfer it is only Geatar disguised as Thanos. Geatar is reduced to a skeleton. Thanos had informed the first mate of Sanctuary III to have Geatar surgically altered to be his double. Out of the spotlight Thanos sets about his quest.

Thanos Quest #1- Thanos gazes into the Infinity Well where Thanos learned the secret of the Soul Gems. Death grants Thanos to retrieve the six Infinity Gems in no small part because the In-Betweener, who had recently humiliated Death, possesses the first gem. Thanos' abilities have been increased as he is now an agent of Death. Thanos journeys to the Nexus of Reality. Thanos easily defeats the creatures forming to stop him. Thanos' pretends to join In-Betweener so that he would protect him from Death. Together Thanos and In-Betweener break him out of the prison Chaos and Order had him in. When In-Betweener goes to betray Thanos he finds himself powerless. Thanos takes his Soul Gem. He then explains to In-Betweener that at the Nexus of Reality that no dichotomy exists rendering his powers useless. Chaos and Order do not effect Thanos so he was able to come undetected. Thanos leaves and Chaos and Order deal with In-Betweener in a harsh manner. Death again questions Thanos' motives. Thanos gives his word to carry out his deed. Next Thanos engages Champion in a fight. Thanos mocks Champion and his skills. Thanos continues to trick Champion and eventually puts up his shields. All this is designed to raise Champion's ire. Champion, like the Hulk, grows in strength with anger. Champion finally does what Thanos was waiting for. He leaps high into he air to destroy Thanos' shield. Thanos removes his shield and dodges. Champion's impact destroys the planet the two were fighting on. Champion is celebrating until Thanos rides up on his chair and tells Champion that he is now stranded in space. Thanos will tow Champion to a planet at the cost of his Soul Gem, the Power Gem. Thanos walks with Gardener in his garden. Thanos tries to get Gardener to give up his Soul Gem without a fight for Thanos has no wish to hurt Gardener, but Gardener must be true to his dream as Thanos must his. The two engage in a contest Thanos is completely surrounded by vegetation when he breaks free. Gardener however is killed by his. Thanos used the power gem to accelerate Gardener's to points he could not control. Thanos takes the Time Gem. Thanos regrets his killing Gardner but really had no choice, "I had to be faithful to my nature. For, after all, I am Thanos."

Thanos Quest #2- Thanos informs Collector that he will soon have something to trade him for his Infinity Gem thereby sparing his life. Thanos traces and goes to the Runner. Runner demolishes Thanos' chair. Grandmaster warned Runner of Thanos' approach. Runner forces Thanos to tell him the true nature of the Gems. The Gems were formerly a being that encompassed everything in any and all realities. Thanos believes it ended itself from loneliness. Thanos wants to be Death's equal. Thanos then reveals that he only told Runner the secret to keep him in one place. Thanos used the Time Gem to age the Runner beyond belief. He then plucked the gem that controls Space from Runner's head. Thanos then turns Runner into a baby to trade to the Collector. Thanos receives the Gem and then tells Collector that the Gem controls all of Reality. Thanos also tells Collector that the time egression he placed on Runner was temporary. Runner needless to say is angry. Finally Thanos goes to face the Grandmaster. Grandmaster has his gem rigged so that Thanos must play the game on his terms. Thanos puts up his five gems against Grandmaster's one. They enter a game where they try to achieve a "kill shot"- which really will kill. Thanos outwits Grandmaster, but Grandmaster cheated causing thanos' armor to trap him if he were to gain a kill shot. Little did Grandmaster realize though that Thanos had also cheated. The Thanos Grandmaster battled with was a robot. Thanos remained outside the virtual reality and takes the Gem. Thanos could have taken the Gem anytime but he enjoyed playing with Grandmaster. The Gem controls the Mind. Thanos now controls all Time, Mind, Soul, Reality, Space, and Power in effects the Universe. Thanos returns to Death and pledges his love again. He wishes to be her mate, not her slave, and so it is granted. But Death still will not speak to Thanos for he is now greater than she is. Thanos kills her mouthpiece. He then goes on to wonder how he miscalculated Death's reaction.

Silver Surfer #44-Thanos plays with a star 3000 times larger than our sun. He decides it's probably time to deal with Surfer, who his cosmic senses warned him is capable of being a problem. Thanos could simply blink his enemies: Silver Surfer, Drax, Mentor, and Starfox out of existance, but he doesn't want to ruin all his fun. So Thanos takes Drax and Silver Surfer first. Dra lunges for Thanos, but Thanos freezes Drax in midair by stopping the time around him. Thanos then sows off his powers to Silver Surfer. First Time and then Space. He alters the nature of Drax to kill Surfer displaying his mastery of the Soul. He then displays his power over mind, reality, and power. Thanos restores all and Surfer realizes what has really happened. Drax and Surfer lunge at Thanos only to have their souls taken from them.

Silver Surfer #45- Thanos returns to Sanctuary III to find his first mate has assembled a giant armada. Thanos creates wealth for his personal bodyguards. Thanos senses Nebula is on board. Thanos decides to preserve Nebula right on the line between life and death. Then Thanos kills the crew member who helped her. Mephisto introduces himself to Thanos and tells him that Thanos does not know all. Before trying suicide the ultimate being created Mephisto and his demon hordes for company. Because they weren't willed to be good they turned out bad. When the being killed itself Mephisto and the others were freed. Mephisto pledges loyalty to Thanos. He tells Thanos he can touch every soul in existance at once. While Thanos does that Mephisto steals the Gauntlet. But Thanos safeguarded against that and Mephisto merely thought he was sucessful. Still Thanos allows Mephisto to worship him.

Silver Surfer #46- behind the scenes- Inside the Soul Gem Silver Surfer meetes Adam Warlock.

Silver Surfer #47- Adam helps Surfer and Drax leave Soul World. Mephisto tells Surfer where Thanos is. Thanos knows this and thinks Mephisto petty. He decides to use a special agent to deal with Surfer.

Spider-Man #17- Spider-Man dies trying to save a mother and daughter. In death he meets Thanos and Death. Thanos tries to convince of the error of his ways- trying to save lives that were already going to die at some point. The little girl begins to die which inspires Spider-Man to fight Thanos. Perhaps because Death admires Spider-Man's courage or perhaps just because she is mad at Thanos she restores life to Spidey and the girl.

Cloak and Dagger vol. 3 #18- Thanos is carving his image upon the face of a planet. Mephisto tries to give Thanos a gift of Spider-Man and Cloak and Dagger's souls. Thanos asks why he should care since he now controls the universe.

Silver Surfer #48- Thanos confronts Galactus and tells him to mind his business about Thanos' upcoming plans.

Silver Surfer #49- Thanos watches Surfer on his way to recruit help against Thanos. He decides to make Surfer's travels more exciting. Thanos and Mephisto teleport to a planet with innocent life forms. Thanos imbues one with some power and his disposition and sends him out against the Surfer. Surfer comes up against a destroyed base and is confronted by the beast. Surfer cannot defeat the thing and as the beast goes to bite Surfer's head off it starts to shrink back to it's no longer innocent form. Surfer leaves. Thanos and Mephisto teleport to the scene. Thanos looks down pleased with his injured and begging for help thrall. As Thanos walks away he steps on the thrall killing him. The statue of Thanos from Marvel Two-In-One annual #2 comes to life.

Silver Surfer #50- The stone statue of Thanos, animated by Thanos, strikes Surfer out of the sky near Earth's moon. Thanos delves into Surfer's mind to find his shame. He sees Norrin Radd being following his father's teachings to work instead of having fun while talking to Shalla-Bal. Surfer resists so Thanos smacks him around. Thanos sees Norrin's father's big plans for his son. Norrin's father is disgraced for not crediting the work of another in his invention. Norrin walks away in disgust. Surfer calls his board and smashes the statue. It simply reforms and the mind probe continues. Shalla Bal tells Norrin that his father had committed suicide. Thanos mocks Surfer breaking his spirit. Surfer rages destroying the statue all the while Thanos laughs because he knows Surfer's most repressed memory.

Quasar #24- Maelstrom flies to Thanos’ retreat. Maelstrom says that he has to be careful here because Thanos’ infinity gems may be more powerful than him if he has become adept at using them. Maelstrom sees Mephisto is with Thanos. Mephisto asks Thanos if he senses evil approaching. Maelstrom bows before Thanos and introduces himself. He says that he is the one being in the universe that doesn’t fear Thanos. Maelstrom says that Thanos fancies himself God. Maelstrom says that many races in the universe don’t even believe in a god. Maelstrom says that Thanos can’t even conceive of anything greater than godhood. Maelstrom says that Thanos’ vanity and lack of sophistication will be his undoing. Thanos shouts that God is everything and that he is God. Thanos blasts Maelstrom. Maelstrom says that he is an atheist then. Maelstrom disappears. Thanos shouts that he wants to know where Maelstrom came upon his abilities. Mephisto manages to convince Thanos that he really did obliterate Maelstrom when he blasted him, and that it didn’t matter.

Infinity Gauntlet #1- Thanos stands with Mephisto at his side. Surfer warns Strange of Thanos. Thanos ponders what h should do with omnipotence. Death still snubs Thanos. Thanos says he wanted to become her equal. Death's mouthpiece says Thanos is now her superior. In order to please Death Thanos shows her what he has done to Nebula. Death turns her back. Thanos destroys Death's mouthpiece. Mephisto then tells Thanos that he has not yet killed half the universes population. Thanos snaps his fingers and wipes out half of existance. Warlock, Pip, and Gamorra return to Earth, but Gamorra is wiped out with the dying half.

Quasar #26- As Mephisto thanks Thanos for allowing him to sit upon Death's throne Thanos bursts out laughing as he senses Eon dying. Thanos decides to force Eon to serve him. He tells Mephisto to get off Death's seat. Thanos crashes Eon's funeral and starts insulting him. Quasar says that if Thanos doesn't leave he will force him to. Quasar blocks Thanos blast and uses the energy to form a fist that hits Thanos. Thanos tells Quasar that he is now god and his attempts are pitiful. Quasar drops "the heaviest quantum construct" on Thanos. Thanos shatters it. Quasar hits Thanos. Thanos grows to giant size and snatches Quasar out of the air. He tells Quasar to demonstrate respect before he "revokes" his existence. Quasar quantum jumps out ripping a hole in Eon's atmosphere. Quasar sets off a hundred-megaton blast in Thanos' ears. Thanos tells Quasar he has more important people to torment. He re-creates from Eon's memory gladiators to plague Quasar just as Eon created Drax to plague him. Thanos bids farewell to Quasar as he leaves him with Ree, Marvel Boy, Trantra, and Stygian Starbender to deal with.

Infinity Gauntlet #2- Thanos brings his brother Eros to him, and manacles him to a chair. Thanos tells Eros that he made sure Mentor was among the half annihilated. Eros tries to use his powers of persuasion, but Thanos simply erases Eros' mouth from existence. Warlock is "hatched" from his cocoon, and goes to join the other heroes against Thanos. Thanos sits with Death and Mephisto torturing Eros and Nebula. Thanos grows angry with Death's apathy and lashes out destroying a 20 million year old sun and the planet Galactus was about to feed on. Heoes deal with the reprcussions of Thanos' power.

Infinity Gauntlet #3- Thanos spells his name across space by realigning some planets. He also continues to torture Eros. The Titans of the universe decide to follow Warlock against Thanos. Thanos sees the Watcher and knows that a fight will soon be coming. When Death refuses to stand with Thanos, Thanos decides to create Terraxia. Terraxia is everything Death is not: loving and warm, but as Death walks away Thanos' eyes follow her. The heroes arrive on Thanos' doorstep.

Silver Surfer #52- Behind The Scenes- Something in Drax's head triggers from when Thanos altered his soul. Drax attacks Firelord for no reason. He recalls that Thanos has the Infinity Gauntlet.

Dr Strange #33- Though he is not present at the fight Thanos decides that he must deal with Dr. Strange to prevent him from reviving them once he freezes time around them. Thanos claps his hands and sends a shockwave from his base, through space, to Earth and knocks Dr. Strange over. Strange is pulled into a maelstrom.

Infinity Gauntlet #4- As Thor, Firelord, Namor, and Iron Man charge at Thanos, Thanos stops time. Thanos looks around and Mephisto sees that Surfer and Warlock are not joining the fight. Now out of the way Thanos restarts time. Hulk and Drax grab and pound Thanos. Thanos sends Drax flying, and shrinks the Hulk. Namor and She-Hulk come next. Both are encased in some growing dirt prison. Thor nails Thanos in the chest, and Dr Doom grabs for the gauntlet. Thanos blasts Doom. Thor throws his hammer, but Thanos opens a portal and Thor's hammer disappears. Thor attacks but is thrown by the cape. Thanos bats away Firelord. Wolverine sinls his claws into Thanos' chest. Thanos turns his adamantium bones and claws into spongy rubber bones and claws. Doom returns and Thanos asks, "Doom, you return for another shot at my guantlet?". Doom replies, "Only death will stay my hand". Thanos responds, "That can be arranged". Thanos downs Scarlet Witch, boxes Cyclops head, and plummets his hand into Vision's chest. Cyclops suffocates. Cloak devours Thanos, but he explodes out. Thor's hammer returns and Eric Masterson retransforms. Thanos knocks Drax and Firelord into the prehistoric past. Terraxia brings Thanos Iron Man's head. Spidey webs Thanos face, but is tackled by Terraxia. Thor begins pounding on Thanos. Thanos turns him to glass. Thanos turns Nova into colored cubes. Afterwards he shatters Thor. Thanos causes Quasar's quantum bands to explode. Captain America stands alone. Thanos has the ground hold Cap's fet. He then shatters the shield. As Thanos goes in for the killing blow Surfer flies in an attempts to grab the gauntlet, but misses. Cap hits Thanos, but Thanos swats him away realizing the mistake he nearly made. Galactus, Stranger, the Celestials, and many other cosmic beings stand before Thanos.

Silver Surfer #57- As Surfer passes over Thanos' head missing the Infinity Gauntlet Thanos realizes how close he came to losing it all. Thanos blasts Silver Surfer. The blast completely destroys the Surfer's reality. Surfer is sent to a reality where he is forced to relive the horrors from his life.

Infinity Gauntlet #5- The galactic people ask Thanos to give up the gems which he, of course, refuses to do. The Celestials hurl worlds at Thanos. Thanos destroys them. Chronos tries to immerse him ion time, but since Thanos controls all time it is somewhat futile. Order and Chaos hope to dichotomize Thanos, but he refuses to surrender his individuality. Galactus, Stranger, and Eon are but wished aside. Love and Hate try to confuse him, but they are blasted away. Mephisto tries to grab the gauntlet, but Thanos grabs his neck. Death attacks Thanos as well. Thanos explodes with rage, and reforms with all the galactic entities held in place above his throne room. Finally Thanos defeats Eternity and gives up his physical body to become one with the cosmos. But then the disfigured Nebula manages to wrest the gauntlet from Thanos' now unoccupied body, and becomes the new god. Nebula banishes Thanos and Terraxia. Terraxia dies in deep space. Thanos falls through Strange's portal. Surfer attacks, but Strange calls in Hulk and four others to separate the two.

Silver Surfer #59- When Thanos and Surfer cannot stop going for each other Doom suggests a deul. Strange sends them to a place without their powers. They are left to joust. Thanos strikes first and knocks Surfer off. Surfer pulls Thanos off his horse. As they fihgt Surfer accuses Thanos of conceit. Thanos admits it but sees Surfer as a hypocrite. Thanos said while inside Surfer's mind he saw wrongdoings and failures yet sees himself as a knight in shining armor, and if that isn't conceit Thanos doesn't know what is. Surfer comes back with his righteous indignation. He tells Thanos that he will regret being born. Thanos replies, "I always do you imbecile". Surfer gains the upper hand and moves in for the killing stroke. Thanos begs for death. Surfer relents, but when Surfer turns Thanos jumps him and puts a knife to his head. Surfer surrenders.

Infinity Gauntlet #5- Warlock talks alone with Thanos. While inside the Soul Gem Warlock looked into Thanos soul. He tells Thanos that he always provides the means of defeating himself because he views himself as unworthy. Thanos says he will aid Warlock. The first five go, and are stopped. The second wave is Thanos, Surfer, Strange and Warlock.

Infinity Gauntlet #6- Thanos demands his gauntlet back, but Nebula encases him in white rock. Thanos realizes that Nebula cannot see Warlock. He mocks her as "not having the vision necessary". Nebula undoes everything done in the last 24 hours. She turns back into the half corpse, but still wearing the gauntlet she restores herself. Warlock and Surfer enter the Soul Gem. Nebula is forced to redefeat all the cosmic beings Thanos did. Warlock creates disharmony within the gauntlet. Nebula drops the gauntlet. Thanos, Nebula, and the heroes go for it. Eventually Warlock emerges with it. Thanos smacks Hulk and Drax who come for him. Thanos then activates a bomb on his belt. Thor hits Thanos with his hammer driving him back into space. Thanos explodes. After sending everyone home Warlock takes Gamorra and Pop with him and visits Thanos on his farm. They exchange pleasantries, and Thanos is left to live on his farm.

Warlock and the Infinity Watch #5- behind the scenes- When Warlock needs the use of the Reality Gem to help him find Pip, Drax, Gamorra, and Moondragon he thinks to himself what could he have been thinking when he appointed the Reality Gem to this individual. The voice echoes back that he must have been thinking clearly because his is the only gem still accounted for. Thanos tells Warlock that the Infinity Watch are the prisoner of the Omega. Thanos warns Warlock about dealing with Omega.

Silver Surfer annual #5- Pip the Troll is trying to impress a girl in a bar. He says that he is buddies with Silver Surfer. He uses his space gem to teleport them around to see various villains “they” defeated. The final villain is Thanos. Thanos grabs Pip by the throat. Thanos puts his arm around the girl and says she did a good job bringing Pip to him.

Infinity War #1- Thanos' doppelganger watches Thanos on his farm. Thanos senses it and investigates. He finds the universe is in danger. Thanos leaves his farm to investigate further. Thanos watches Galactus as he discovers Eternity is catatonic. While Thanos ponders the responsible party he sees his doppelganger. Thanos finds the villain's lair- it reminds him of his tribute to Death from Infinity Gauntlet. Thanos sees the power source, and when he goes to investigate he comes face to face with Magus and the Thanos doppelganger. Thanos talks with Magus on how he can exist. Thanos tells Magus that he doesn't want his own reality destroyed. He tells Magus that the omnipotence he seeks cannot be held. Magus decides that he overestimated Thanos. As tensions rise Magus pushes a button that produces every hero's doppelganger. Magus tells Thanos to let Warlock know he is coming. Magus watches Thanos do exactly what he predicted. Reed Richards (actually his doppelganger) calls together the world's heroes. Thanos goes to Warlock and the Infinity Watch.

Warlock and the Infinity Watch #7- Thanos appears to Warlock and the Infinity Watch.

Infinity War #2- Thanos tells Warlock that Magus lives. Thanos needs Warlock's aid, and both agree it best not to involve the Avengers. For information on Magus Thanos tells Pip he will use the Space Gem to take them all to Death's palace. Magus watches as everything goes as he predicted. Inside Death's palace Warlock karmic blasts Death's sentry, Moondragon monitors Death while Thanos goes to the Infinity Well. The Well reveals that while in possession of the Infinity Gauntlet Warlock cast out his good and bad sides. The bad lived on to become the Magus. Thanos learns that Magus' power source has origins in five separate realities. Magus decides they have learned enough and informs Death. Just as Thanos is to learn Magus' true goal Death enters. Pip teleports them all out. As they return Mole Man informs them that Reed Richards has called Earth's heroes together for a crisis.

Infinity War #3- Thanos traces the power source from when Magus and Thanos' doppelganger showed to "save" their Iron Man and Reed Richards doubles. Before they teleport Thanos feels his double looking at him again. Doom and Kang (who were following Galactus track Magus) cloak themselves as Thanos and crew show up. Thanos and Warlock discuss that Warlock has had no dreams since becoming god. Thanos says all his dreams are "what you would call unappetizing. Mostly about Death." Thanos also tells Warlock that he will never be normal and he knows it. Warlock goes to pout, but both Thanos and Gamorra know that Warlock will do what he is supposed to. As Thanos is ready to leave the heroes teleport to the same phony location they all did.

Warlock and the Infinity Watch #8- Thanos sits and recalibrate his chair to find the main power source of the Magus. Warlock tells Thanos that he thinks he calmed Drax's nature while almighty, but that he can't remember. Thanos says that after a month he had forgotten everything but the feeling of grandeur. Pip mouths off and Thanos chases him away with eyeblasts. Gamorra asks if Thanos wants to fight her. Thanos compliments Moondragon on how well she has adapted to the Mind Gem. Moondragon tells Thanos that she cannot look into any of the watch's minds. Thanos says that was probably Warlock's doing as well. Moondragon says she cannot read Thanos' mind either. Thanos says, "Of course not. I am Thanos." Thanos needles Moondragon asking if Drax remembers Moondragon killing him. As Thanos walks away Moondragon tries to bash his head with a rock. Thanos catches the rock and says that one day the bill for Moondragon's indiscretions will come due. Thanos approaches Gamorra to fight to bide the time. Drax tries to interject himself into the fight, but both Thanos and Gamorra knock him out of it. The two fight back and forth until Gamorra hits a nerve blow and freezes Thanos. Everyone is stunned, but Gamorra knows Thanos is faking. The two compliment each other on their prowess.

Marvel Comics Presents #108-111- Five minutes away from finishing his recalibrations Thanos' mind is sucked into the realm of Death. Thanos figures that Death has chosen this time to get her retribution. Thanos arrives in Death's realm and is greeted by the Legion of the Doomed. As Thanos battles the Legion he thinks about his lifelong love of Death. He thinks perhaps he felt slighted by Death returning him to life. After Thanos defeats the entire Legion Death approaches him. Thanos says he awaits her vengeance, but that she has poor timing as he goes to try and defeat Magus who may even threaten her existence. Death, for the first time in Thanos' life, directly addresses him and tells him that she knows. Thanos is stunned. As Thanos sits at a table with Death Thanos says this is beyond his wildest dreams. Death says that experience teaches that all things are possible…even forgiveness. Thanos says he still yearns for her, and Death tells him to prove it. Death explains that she bestowed upon Thanos the honor of the first being resurrected to serve her again, yet Thanos took that opportunity to make himself her superior- a bitter betrayal. A tear wells in Thanos' eye as he apologizes. Death explains that she was never meant to be subjugated, and it certainly against her nature to pay homage to ANY living creature- even an almighty Thanos. Thanos' actions placed Death in need of rescue, and warlock did save her. Death is in Warlock's debt, a position she finds intolerable. Death says that if Thanos kills Warlock that she will be his forever. Death returns Thanos to his body. Thanos watches Warlock and thinks how easy it would be to kill Warlock since he has no reason to suspect Thanos. Thanos' chair's weapon system locks onto Warlock. Thanos says killing Warlock will ensure Magus' victory, but who cares? Thanos then doubts Death's offer since her offered her his heart and the universe as a token, and was rejected. Thanos thinks Death was merely toying with him and decides against killing Warlock.

Warlock and the Infinity Watch #8- Thanos says they are ready to go, but are interrupted when the heroes arrive.

Quasar #38- Quasar puts up a shield around Thanos and crew as the heroes charge. Thanos calls Quasar an insolent pup. Quasar's shield goes down as he protects Professor X from Pip. Thanos lets loose with a giant blast. He then tries to smash Hulk and Thing's heads together, but is again stopped by Quasar.

Fantastic Four #369- The fight goes on. Thanos has Vision down. Galactus comes by and places them all in a stasis and transport beam. Galactus imparts to everyone everything that has happened so far. They decide that the best way to deal with Magus is to reform the Infinity Gauntlet and have Warlock reabsorb him. The gauntlet is dead however because of the Living Tribunal's ruling. As soon as Galactus goes to appeal to LT, Magus and Thanos' double grab Warlock and the gauntlet. Thanos tries to stop them, but fails.

Quasar #39- Thanos gives the Ultimate Nullifier to Quasar as a means to kill Magus. Thanos thinks to himself how he is now even with Quasar for encasing him in his shield from before since the Ultimate Nullifier always kills the one whom fires it.

Infinity War #5- Thanos sits fixing his teleportation unit so that Quasar can use the Ultimate Nullifier on Magus' base. Thanos wishes Quasar good luck as he goes through the portal. When he sees Quasar stalling Thanos prepares for an assault directly inside Magus' stronghold. The gauntlet is activated by Eternity as Magus is wearing it. Magus captures Warlock and dissipates Quasar. He now holds the Ultimate Nullifier. Thanos decides to lead the heroes into battle, but is over ruled by Captain America.

Fantastic Four #369- Thanos decides to lead the heroes into battle, but is over ruled by Captain America.

Infinity War #5- Thanos remains behind as the heroes rush in. As soon as they enter Thanos alters the coordinates to go right outside Magus' control room. He walks through and meets his doppelganger. When they both reveal their planned treachery they must fight to see who gets to betray Magus.

Warlock and the Infinity Watch #10- Thanos fights his shade until the Magus emerges with a functioning Infinity Gauntlet. Magus says that whoever is triumphant may join him within the chamber. The two Thanos decide they should join together to defeat Magus, and then after he is dealt with resume their fight. They find they are unable to pass through the door together. One Thanos must die first. Thanos says he would like some of the ShadeThanos' knowledge such as Magus' insights on him, or why Thanos was unable to hold onto the Gauntlet the first time. ShadeThanos tries to sneak attack Thanos, but Thanos spins and hits him first. Thanos notices his shade is more powerful than he. Thanos reflects how the Thanos before the Infinity Gauntlet would have already killed his double. His brush with omnipotence had dimmed the inner fire. Thanos realizes that part of his essence was used to construct his shade. Thanos also comes to realize that despite greater power his shade is still only part of him. Thanos kills his shade and holds him as he transforms. ShadeThanos turns into a butterfly. Thanos grabs the butterfly and eats it. A shock of realization overtakes Thanos. Thanos gains all the knowledge of the ShadeThanos. Thanos now understands his inner conflicts and how they caused his downfall. Thanos gets up and goes to confront Magus.

Fantastic Four #370- Susan Richards comes across the two Thanos fighting. She seems to realize which is the real Thanos and aids him invisibly. The triumphant Thanos comes before Magus. Magus forces him to bow, but Thanos tells Magus that reality is not what Magus percieves with such conviction that Thanos manages a blow. Magus freaks, but Warlock with his hand now on the gauntlet. The two battling each other Thanos exits stage left.

Infinity War #6- Thanos fights with his doppelganger. He enters Magus' control room triumphant. Thanos mocks Magus. Magus forces Thanos to bow, but Thanos points out that Magus missed a thread of reality and strikes Magus. Magus starts wailing on Thanos, and is caught unaware by Warlock grabbing his hand with the gauntlet. The battle causes an explosion which leaves Thanos admidst the rubble with the heroes. Thanos and the others are transported back to Galactus' ship. Thanos stands over Warlock in a catatonic state with the Infinity Watch. Thanos reveals that the Reality gem in Magus' gauntlet was a fake. Eternity appears before the group. Thano stakes his leave. Thanos returns to his farm. He ponders the changes within him, and wonders if maybe now he might not subconsciously allow his own defeat. He also wonders what will happen when the "good" side of the good and evil Warlock cast off will make itself known.

Quasar #42- Blue Marvel, a simulacrum of Quasar created by Thanos while he had the Infinity Gauntlet, fights some of the Avengers. Blue Marvel has Thor on the ropes and thinks to himself that Thanos would be impressed with him if he could beat Thor, but Photon starts to double up on him and he teleports away. Later Thanos appears to Blue Marvel as a manifestation. He tells him that someone is trying to resurrect Quasar. Thanos tells Blue Marvel to quantum jump, and he will guide him to the location. Blue Marvel blasts the Angel of Vengeance to make sure Quasar stays dead.

Infinity Crusade #1- The Goddess, Adam Warlock's good side, enters Thanos' vault where he keeps the Reality Gem. Thanos asks who would be so foolish as trespass against him. Goddess says there is no room for vile creatures like him in her future world. She judges him and sentences him to eternal damnation. Thanos shouts "NO" as he is pulled away.

Infinity Crusade #2- behind the scenes- Warlock goes to find the guardian of the Reality Gem.

Warlock Chronicles #2- Warlock uses his Soul Gem to locate Thanos and pulls himself back from the alternate reality the Goddess used Thanos' gem to send him to. Thanos thanks Warlock for bringing him back to his secret sanctuary. Thanos shows Warlock his security taping of the Goddess. Thanos says she needs to be dealt with immediately. Warlock agrees but wants to get the other Infinity Watch members. Thanos teleports warlock to Monster Island and goes to deal with armaments and logistics.

Warlock and the Infinity Watch #19- Thanos decides he has learned all he can from watching the heroes. He makes a mental note to observe Maxam at a later date because now he must concentrate in the Goddess. Thanos tries to learn through paradise Omega. He finds it odd that the Goddess would rely on the cosmic containment units since Magus found them unreliable. Thanos decides something else is going on. Thanos decides he has to investigate personally, but before he goes he orders to have unit D-666 powered up and delivered to him. Thanos boards his ship.

Infinity Crusade #3- Warlock, alone in the Infinity Watch's base, teleports up into Thanos' ship. Thanos says earth's heroes are not up to stopping Goddess. Only he and Warlock stand a chance. Mephisto arrives in his giant dragon form. Thanos says that his image is different, but the smell is sadly recognizable. Thanos asks Mephisto why he is bothering them. Mephisto wants to help, and this causes Warlock to rethink if he wants to. Thanos tells Warlock that evil is simply the flip side of good, and that by removing evil she will also remove good. Thanos asks Warlock, since Goddess is part of him, how he would go about eliminating all evil. Thanos asks Mephisto why they would need him. Mephisto says he has more knowledge about cosmic containment units. Warlock uses the Soul Gem to contact Pip and get the back-story. Afterwards Thanos says that Pip was withholding information. Mephisto offers his knowledge for one cosmic containment unit.

Warlock and the Infinity Watch #20- Thanos carries Warlock's unconscious body and lays him down. Thanos wonders why Warlock would trust Thanos with his Soul Gem since wearing it has informed Thanos of Goddess' true plan and that the plan would certainly appeal to him. Thanos decides to follow Warlock's plan.

Silver Surfer vol. 3 #83- Thanos watches as, a recently freed from Goddess' control, Silver Surfer bests the still controlled Firelord. He says he has a need of Surfer.

Infinity Crusade #4- Thanos, now wearing Warlock's Soul Gem, realizes that only he understands the full scope of the situation. Thanos sees that Goddess has apparently been killed. And then notices that her vitals suddenly returned. Thanos goes and teleports Silver Surfer to his ship. Thanos surrenders to Surfer to calm him down. Thanos shows warlock's dormant body and tells Surfer that his soul is now in the gem he wears on his forehead. He tells Surfer he has no better plan than Warlock's, but that the plan will fail without him. Thanos and Surfer appear as holographic images in front of the heroes. Thanos says he must remain on the fringe because if the Goddess knew he was involved in the resistance that she might do all kinds of catastrophic things with her power. Thanos sends them a means to cause a diversion before their attack. He says that he needs Professor X, and is told that he was mind-blasted into a coma. Thanos teleports Professor X onto his ship. He places a headset that allows him to manipulate Professor X's telepathic powers. When Surfer asks Thanos if he finds it uncomfortable being a hero Thanos offers to duplicate the experience Surfer had with warlock when merged inside the Soul Gem. He asks Surfer if he wants to peer into his soul. Of course Surfer passes. Thanos sends Surfer out to do his job. Thanos' old ship the Dreadnaught-666 arrives. The mammoth of a ship will be used against Goddess. Thanos tells Surfer to begin absorbing the power of the sun. This disrupts the Goddess' scanning abilities. Surfer then hurls himself and destroys the moon of Paradise Omega.

Silver Surfer vol. 3 #84- Thanos wonders if Surfer will survive the impact. Thanos sees that Surfer did survive and that he will fall onto Paradise Omega.

Infinity Crusade #4- Thanos tells Richards to maintain a certain distance from Paradise Omega as the moon's destruction interferes with scanning. Thanos wants to route a scan signal through a pod.

Infinity Crusade #5- Forge and Nomad contact Thanos that their pod is in place to allow him to scan the planet. Thanos watches the fights unfold. Thanos transports Warlock from the Soul Gem. Thanos watches and waits for his opening. As Goddess prepares for Rapture Thanos fires upon her, and abandons the ship before she destroys it. Thanos and Professor X arrive outside Goddess' Cosmic Egg. Thanos tries to stop Goddess by manipulating Professor X's powers. Thanos fails and the sun goes nova.

Infinity Crusade #6- Thanos stands in front of the Cosmic Egg containing the Goddess after she thinks she has enacted the Rapture. Warlock emerges from Goddess' subconscious and reveals he released a false Rapture precisely before the real one. All the converts awaken from Goddess' influence. Goddess has to return to her spirit form to attack Warlock. Thanos and Professor X team up against Goddess. Goddess returns to the egg, but while she was out Warlock bonded with the Egg. Thanos blasts them both with the Soul Gem. A second blast sends Warlock's spirit to his body on Thanos' ship. Thanos collects a portion of the Cosmic Egg to honor his agreement. Warlock returns and the Soul Gem goes to him. Thanos says that he has ordered the egg to break down to a sub-energy level. Thanos and Warlock teleport off the planet before it explodes. Thanos says that destroyed the Egg because it was flawed and if he decides to dominate the universe again it will be 100% certain it will work. Thanos teleports Warlock off his ship. Thanos sits at a table looking at the Cosmic Cube. Mephisto arrives for his payment. Thanos always honors an agreement so he gives him the Cube. Mephisto wishes for Thanos' demise. When it doesn't happen Mephisto realizes it doesn't work. Thanos says he wanted a Cosmic Cube, but said nothing about whether it should function. He says the devil should beware when bargaining with Thanos of Titan. Mephisto vows vengeance as he teleports out. Thanos muses that Mephisto and the universe in general has, as usual, missed the point. Salvation comes from within which is why Thanos will never depend on any but himself and his darkness.

Marvel Holiday Special 1993- While cleaning out an old hideout of his Thanos comes across a doll that once belonged to Gamorra. After recalling how the doll was scorched Thanos sends it to the incinerator with the other garbage.

Thor #470- A mad Thor is destroying Warlock and the Infinity watch, Dr. Strange, and Silver Surfer when Pip teleports himself, Silver Sufer, Thor and the evil Valkyrie to the sanctuary of Thanos.

Silver Surfer #88- Thanos sends his robots after the group, Thanos grabs Pip by the neck. Pip explains why they are there. Thanos blasts Thor with energy blasts. Thor strikes and shatters Thanos' shield. Thor deflects Thonos' blast. Thor hits Thanos twice and then smashes him into a wall. Thanos smiles as he decks Thor. Thor strikes back, but Thanos hits Thor knee deep into the ground. He follows up by blasting Thor clear through the floor. Thor hits back again. Thanos says he is sick of this and walks through a door. Thor starts bellowing about "the titan fleeing like a cur". Thanos emerges with a gun and blasts Thor into a restraing block. Surfer turns to thank Thanos, but Thanos has the gun leveled at him. Thanos tells Surfer he can only discharge the weapon one shot at a time. Surfer asked why he waited. Thanos was enjoying the fight, but got tired of it. The heroes show and Pip emerges from hiding. Thanos tells Pip he fondly remembers killing him once and will gladly do it again if he doesn't shut up. Thanos says they should hurry and do what they intend to since his field won't last forever.

Warlock Chronicles #8- Thanos asks what happened to Thor to cause this. Warlock indicates that Odin seems to have inadvertantly caused it. Thanos asks why they don't just return Thor to Odin. They say that Odin may not believe it was him, but Warrior's Madness and Thor would be put to death. Warlock also hopes to gain favor from the Asgardians by curing Thor themselves. Thanos asks if Warlock will need them for something he saw in his Orb of Eternity. Warlock says he suspected Thanos was watching them. Thanos says he is not one of Warlock's minions, but Warlock points out that with the Reality Gem he is actually part of the Infinity Watch. Thanos says he only took it to protect the reality he is used to, but that since Thor's problem is a true fascinating challenge he will help. Thor asks who Valkyrie is. They believe she is a construct of Thor's splintered mind. Thanos shows Thor's brain wave compared to a normal Asgardian's. Valkyrie alerts Thanos that Thor is calling on the power of the Power Gem to escape from Thanos's prison. Thanos figures he will break out in three hours. Thanos develops a plan. Thanos has Strange trap Valkyrie in an orb. Strange controls Valkyrie's mystical aspects. Moondragon controls the Valkyrie's mind. Thanos then turns Valkyrie into an energy form. Moondragon tries very hard to gain control of Thor's mind. She thinks she has it, and everyone is transported to a mental plane in Thor's insanity. Thor was playing possum with Moondragon, and they are trapped in Thor's insanity. Thanos leads te combined wills to free themselves. Valkyrie is absorbed by Thor, but he is not cured, and Thanos' machinery fries. They are forced to take Thor to Odin.

Warlock and the Infinity Watch #25- Thanos, Thor imprisoned, and the others appear on the Rainbow Bridge. Odin spots them on the bridge and believes they are all villains. Odin sends Asgard's forces out to defend the city. Thanos tells Warlock that they'll have to deal with the attack as he must maintain the field around Thor. Thanos sees that his side is losing. He calls Maxam over to watch Thor. Thanos goes in turns the tide back to theit favor. Odin has to go in. Odin blasts Drax. Thanos tells everyone but Surfer to get back. Odin blasts Thanos. Thanos and Surfer blast Odin. Odin blasts Thanos. Surfer blasts Odin. Odin blasts back and knocks out Surfer. Thanos hits Odin, but Odin hits right back. Odin says he is impressed with Thanos, but that scientific power can't compare to divine mystic power. Thanos blasts Odin saying that power is power and that Odin's "heavenly status" doesn't impress him at all. Odin tries to bury Thanos, but the titan smashes the falling boulders. Thanos tries to use the field around Odin, but Odin breaks free because "…it is written". Thanos says in his version "righteous Thanos triumphs over craven Odin". Odin summons his sceptor and blasts Thanos clear off the Rainbow Bridge and into the city of Asgard. Odin proclaims himself the winner, but Thanos gets up. Odin blasts Thor, but he keeps advancing until he gets a hand on Odin's sceptor. They fly in the air and again Odin proclaims himself the winner. Thanos gets back up. They prepare to fight when Sif and Beta Ray Bill stop them. Sif explains that Thor has the warrior's Madness, and that even Thanos is innocent in the matter. Odin tries to help Thor, but after failing proclaims that Thor must die.

Quasar #59- Quasar is to hang out with Eros (Starfox) on Titan, but Eros has an obligation he must meet so he brings Quasar along. Eros goes to a remote place and meets Thanos. It is a tradition started between the two brothers from when they were kids. They call it "The Truce". One day a year Eros and Thanos get together for a family reunion. Thanos' gives his word that his extension of peace also extends to Quasar as his brother's guest. Quasar gives a gift of pictures of Thanos as a child. Thanos brought for Eros the Destiny Crystal. If you look deeply into the crystal it will tell your future. The Royal Guard of the Kharta'een Empire shows up to execute Thanos, Starfox, and Quasar for stealing the Destiny Crystal. They blast them. The leader takes back the crystal. Thanos grabs the leader by the neck, but Quasar stops Thanos from killing him. Quasar says Thanos will have to kill him to get to the army's leader. Thanos gears up, but stops his bluff since Thanos gave his word. Eros talked the guard into leaving peacefully with his power. Everyone leaves but Thanos. Thanos opens his hand and admires the Destiny Crystal he had restolen.

Silver Surfer vol. 3 #98- Champion bursts through the wall of Thanos' sanctum. Thanos sits silently as Champion describes everything he is going to do to him, and everything Thanos did to him. Thanos continues to sit as Champion shows Thanos his new power amplifier, his wristlets. Champion asks what Thanos has to say. Thanos says "go away", and then with one finger teleports Champion away.

Cosmic Powers Unlimited #1- Surfer has become of interest to Death as her consort. Surfer seeks Thanos' advice. Surfer finds Thanos farming. Thanos invites Surfer in because his curiosity it piqued. Thanos takes Surfer under his farm to his base. Surfer tells Thanos that Death wants him as her consort. This naturally kinda ticks Thanos off. Thanos decides to kill Surfer. He beats him to within a moment of Death. Thanos picks up Surfer and brings him to Death. Death's mouthpiece accepts which angers Thanos. It becomes apparent to Thanos that he still isn't wanted so he releases Surfer from his bonds. Together Thanos and Surfer fight their way out of Death's realm, but Thanos turns back and mocks Death about how Surfer's rejection of her affections must hurt (the way his affection for her was). Death makes it known through her mouthpiece that Thanos is banned from her realm forever. After Surfer leaves Thanos goes into a locked vault. He takes the Reality Gem, entrusted to him, and gives life back to Captain Mar-vell. Mar-vell wants to know why. Thanos says he wanted to test the Reality Gem's abilities. Mar-vell tells Thanos that he brought him here to talk Thanos out of using the Reality Gem into forcing Death to love him. Thanos denies it but knows it to be true. Mar-Vell asks to go back to his death. Thanos grants it and leaves the Reality Gem in his vault.

Secret Defenders #11- Thanos resurrects Geatar and tells him that his life now belongs to him.

Secret Defenders #12- Geatar asks Thanos why he resurrected him. Thanos tells Geatar not to be a fool, he brought him back because he has found a use for him, and if he refuses Thanos will simply kill him again. Geatar asks why Thanos doesn't use Nebula as she claims kinship with him. Thanos slams Geatar against the wall yelling, "Nebula is NOT my granddaughter. Thanos introduces Geatar to his soldiers: Rhino, Super Skrull, Nitro, and Titanium Man. Geatar says he will lead Thanos' men as long as he stays his hand against Nebula, Thanos agrees. The Super Skrull attacks Thanos for abducting him. Thanos blasts him and tells him to watch it. Thanos tells them of the planet H'aarg, and the Oracle that lives there. He tells them the Oracle will start a holy war that Thanos says conflicts with his interest. Thanos tells them that they may keep all the monks' riches they can find. He offers Titanium Man the vast technologies of the monks for his country. He tells the Super Skrull that his superiors will be pleased to hear how he helped stop a holy war that would have damaged them. Thanos gives them a ship, and sends them off. Thanos laughs as they begin to fight the monks.

Secret Defenders #13- Thanos' mercenaries cut through all the religious zealots. They then defeat a giant robot. Finally they find the Oracle. They discover that the Oracle is a robot. Rhino charges Oracle disconnecting him from the planet's systems. Thanos now teleports in saying that now that the Oracle has been disconnected from the system he can teleport in. Thanos tells them that he always only wanted the Oracle's knowledge. There is no war or riches he promised. Thanos takes the Oracle to his teleporting chair. He tells them that their ship was programmed to self destruct shortly after touchdown. He says that their partnership has been most rewarding, He bids them goodbye, but fears they will not meet again. Thanos teleports off the planet leaving his thralls to deal with a planet of angry religious zealots.

Cosmic Powers: Thanos #1- Thanos stands among a planet of dead people. A lone warrior rises, and Thanos kills him. Thanos went to the Ovin mercenaries because he wished to have a challenge. None provided it. Thanos is looking for meaning in his life. He no longer courts Death, and now lends credence to the notion that he fails in his plans because he views himself as unworthy of absolute might. Thanos goes to his base. He enters the "God's" mind to steal his knowledge. In a virtual reality setting Thanos defeats the automaton's guardian. He then enters the treasure room and kills the automaton's personage because his will is stronger. The process leaves the automaton a husk. Thanos' computer scans the info. Thanos learns from the knowledge stolen of Tyrant's existence. He learns of Tyrant's recent return, his defeating Surfer, Gladiator, Terrax, Jack of Hearts, Beta Ray Bill, Morg, and a sister from the Spinterhood (a group dedicated towards fighting Tyrant). Tyrant withdrew because of Galactus. He also learns that Morg is being held. Thanos is pleased to have a challenge. He decides to get Terrax to inform him more of Tyrant.

Cosmic Powers #2- Thanos watches Terrax as he talks to a woman he won, but wants nothing to do with. Thanos follows Terrax out to the woman's home. It turns out she was trying to play Terrax. The woman runs out of the house as Terrax has killed all of her muscle. The woman runs right into a robed Thanos and begs him to save her. Thanos tells her she made her bed and now she has to lie in it. After Terrax kills the girl he asks if the robed stranger wants to fight. Thanos instead offers an alliance. In exchange for Terrax's information on Tyrant Thanos says he will give Terrax Tyrant's empire once he defeats him. Terrax reveals that Tyrant hungers for power. He tells Thanos that Tyrant saps his prisoners' power and stores it in a container until it is needed. Thanos and Terrax's partnership is formed.

Cosmic Powers #3- Thanos and Terrax follow Ganymede, the last of the Spinsterhood that arose to fight Tyrant, and Jack of Hearts for the knowledge Ganymede has on Tyrant. Thanos says it better be worth his while capturing her since he could be developing strategies against Tyrant. Thanos says to capture Ganymede, but to kill Jack of Hearts. Thanos finds his prey's ship empty and destroys it because they won't be nedding it anymore. Thanos and Terrax follow the pair inside the old Spinsterhood home. Thanos instructs Terrax to destroy the robotic guard. After Ganymede finds nothing but corpses with the cryogenic chambers Thanos comes forth and says he has come for the woman. Jack resists. Thanos grabs his face and smashes it against the ground. Thanos hits Jack again, but Jack gets back up and blasts Thanos. Thanos hits him and then blasts him. Thanos throws him against the ground, and tells Jack to consider himself fortunate he only gave him a warning. Thanos levels Ganymede, who is dominating Terrax. Thanos tells Terrax to grab Ganymede and her weapon, but to leave Jack as he has no ship to follow in.

Cosmic Powers #4- Thanos and Terrax wait for Ganymede to wake up. She awakens to find herself in restraints. Thanos tells her to cooperate or he promises she'll be sorry.

Cosmic Powers #5- Thanos tells Ganymede that she will provide him with information about Tyrant or he will kill her. Ganymede says that if Thanos releases her she wil lgive him all the help against Tyrant he wants. Thanos tells Terrax to release her. Ganymede says Tyrant has no weaknesses other than brute force defeating him. She tells Thanos where to find Tyrant as long as she gets to be the one to kill him. Thanos, Terrax, and Ganymede breach Tyrant's security. Tyrant gives Morg his power cosmic back, but also attaches to his head something that will control his body. The controlled Morg attacks. Morg smacks Ganymede. Thanos blasts him, but Morg tackles him. Thanos uses Terrax's axe to ward off Morg's strike. Ganymede distracts Morg, and Thanos blasts him. Thanos allows Terrax to battle Morg one on one. Terrax destroys the device on Morg's head controlling him. Morg stops the fight because though he says he will kill Terrax right now he must return to his master. Jack of Hearts catches up to Thanos. Thanos smacks him aside, and Ganymede explains that she is working with Thanos. Tyrant confronts Thanos and his group.

Cosmic Powers #6- Thanos reviews tapes of Tyrant's past. Thanos has the computer show him where the power Tyrant has stolen from Morg is. Thanos takes it and goes out to face Tyrant. Tyrant has defeated everyone but Ganymede. Ganymede says her sisterhood caused Tyrant to withdraw. Thanos returns with all the power Tyrant stole from Morg. He reveals the truth about Tyrant's past and previous withdrawal being caused by Galactus. Ganymede asks what else they can use to defeat Tyrant. Thanos says "they" won't be doing anything. Thanos knocks out Ganymede leaving Thanos one on one with Tyrant. Tyrant asks what Thanos wants. Thanos tells Tyrant that he is going to steal Morg's power and that when Tyrant tries to stop him they will discover who is mightier. Tyrant says that will only bring death. Thanos says he has already known Death, and that she no longer wants him. Thanos blasts Tyrant. Tyrant eyeblasts Thanos as he lifts him up and throws him through the wall. Thanos grabs Morg's power and blasts Tyrant. Thanos hits him with it, and says he had hoped for more of a challenge. Tyrant stops Thanos' next hit and eyeblasts him. Tyrant says he must be insane to seek him out as a challenge. Thanos hits back and says that he has been told that before. The others wake up and abandon Thanos. Tyrant blasts Thanos saying his power is without equal. Thanos grabs both his hands and says, "prove it". A gigantic explosion and Tyrant stands alone, but only for a second as Thanos climbs out of the ground. Tyrant says he will kill Thanos. Thanos says maybe, but he has taken Tyrant's best and he considers himself the victor. Tyrant says nobody steals from him. Thanos says he does and teleports away. Later Thanos examines his prize and feels good about his conquest.

Silver Surfer/Rune- In a horrid story the character Rune takes Thanos' Reality Gem, and the other Infinity Gems as if they were as easy to collect as a handful of Mike and Ike candy. I've no idea how it turns out, nor do I hope to ever.

Captain Marvel vol. 5 #14- flashback- (Captain Marvel vol. 4 #7 thru 10- non-existent)- At Glib’s Grog & Grub, Genis enters a high stakes poker game with Grandmaster and Thanos. The winner of the game gets to enter the realm of Death and bring someone back with them. Genis cheats to win the game. Genis was playing to bring back the mother of his friend Zoog so that she wouldn’t risk her own life, but when he got there he found that his own mother Elysius was murdered and he had to choose between his friend’s mother’s and his own mother’s life. Instead of choosing between them Genis enters into a deal with Thanos to get them both out.

Silver Surfer: Dangerous Artifacts- Thanos, as Galactus, knows about a comet that is said to have been the home to an extinct race that harnessed a source of ultimate inexhaustible energy. He also knows that if it is known that he is interested in that power that certain opposition would arise. Thanos contacts White Raven to steal the power for him. Surfer is coming to get the power for Galactus. Surfer stops the Kree. White Raven stops the Skrulls. Raven and Surfer both get inside the comet, and both find a being within the comet. Surfer's being is the last of his race. Raven's is his robotic friend. As Surfer talks Raven forces the robot to take her to the source. By the time Raven arrives the alien is presenting the power crystal to Surfer. Raven shoots the alien and causes him to drop the crystal. From the pieces of the crystal a gigantic demon is finally freed from its prison. Surfer saves raven and allows her to escape. Surfer remains behind to fight. Raven returns to save Surfer. Her ship somehow destroys the demon. Raven reports to Thanos that she failed.

Green Lantern Silver Surfer- Surfer deals with Cyborg as Green Lantern deals with Terrax. As Terrax is about to defeat Green Lantern Thanos "saves" him. Terrax seems to indicate that Thanos sent him into this universe in first place. As Terrax lunges he shouts that he can't believe he trusted Thanos again. Thanos mutters that he was rather surprised as well. Thanos defeats Terrax and goes to talk to Green Lantern. Cyborg is run off by Parallax. Parallax and Surfer bond. Parallax wants Surfer to pool power with him. Thanos says he wants Green Lantern to go up against Hal Jordan. Thanos has a weapon to defeat Jordan, but he needs Kyle's ring to power it. Surfer joins with Parallax and gives him his power. Parallax re creates the planet Cyborg destroyed. Thanos shows Kyle that when he destroyed Oa while beating Hal Jordan he created the dimensional rift. Thanos wants Kyle's ring to harness Oa's power. Thanos clamps down on Kyle and Parallax feels the pain of Thanos' machine. Thanos reveals to Kyle that in order to gain Death's favor and entrance into her realm he will destroy everything making everything Death's realm. As Thanos is about to kill Kyle Parallax and Surfer arrive. Surfer fights Kyle while Thanos battles Parallax. Parallax recreates Oa and Thanos destroys it again. Kyle shows Surfer that Thanos and Parallax are both madmen. Parallax recreates Coast City, Thanos destroys it again. Surfer and Kyle withdraw the power they gave to each. Thanos is pulled back through the rift. Surfer follows him through.

Marvel vs. DC #2- Thanos monitors the cataclysmic fluctuations of the universe and smiles. He turns when Darkseid arrives before him in a boom tube. Thanos asks Darkseid if he would care to make a wager on the outcome of their battle. Darkseid tells Thanos that he will lose.

Marvel vs. DC #3- Thanos and Darkseid’s eye blasts meet in mid-air.

Marvel vs. DC #4- Thanos is fighting Lobo and shouting that he wants to know where Darkseid is. Thanos punches Lobo away. Wolverine leaps on Thanos and slashes him. Thanos tries to blast Wolverine, but Wolverine ducks. Darkseid arrives. Thanos and Darkseid face off, and suddenly the Justice League arrives. Thanos is attacked by Captain Marvel, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern. Thanos grabs Captain Marvel by the throat and swats away Wonder Woman. He says that these are but temporary barriers in their final battle. Thanos stops fighting as it appears that the sky is bleeding. Thanos stands in awe of the beauty of the bleeding sky. The two universes decide to be friends.
