Ultron
Ultron is the
robotic creation of Hank Pym even if he didn't remember doing it.
Hank managed to create an artificial intelligence: Ultron-1.
Ultron-1 then shot Hank with a hypnotic ray causing him to forget
his newest invention. Ultron managed to escape and upgrade
himself until finally he confronted the Avengers as Ultron-5.
Ultron was also responsible for creating the Vision, who
possesses the brain patterns of Simon Williams, Wonder Man, thus
creating a very dysfunctional family out of Earth's Mightiest
Heroes.
Avengers #58-flashback-
Avengers vol. 3 #22- Hank Pym uses
his own brain patterns for Ultron.
Avengers #135-flashback-
After leaving Hank Pym hypnotized Ultron-1 leaves and
goes to rebuild himself. Weeks later Ultron-1 had managed to turn
himself into Ultron-5, with a humanoid form. Ultron watches from
Hank Pym's old house as Goliath and Wasp walk by it on their way
to Avengers mansion. Ultron seeks out and finds the Mad Thinker.
In order to avoid Ultron's attack Mad Thinker gives Ultron the
body of the original Human Torch.
Avengers #134- flashback- As a
"dead" original Human Torch lies in a laboratory
Ultron-5 breaks in to get an android to adapt as his son.
Avengers #135- flashback- As Thinker told him
the original Human Torch lies before Ultron. Quasimodo, the
living computer, hears Ultron in his presence. He asks Ultron to
make a human form for him. Ultron says no because he wants to be
the only living robot. Ultron tells Quasimodo that he wants to
have a son like a human might. Ultron hears someone coming. He
hypnotizes Quasimodo and takes the android body with him just
before the Silver Surfer arrives.
Avengers #135- flashback- After six months of
failure Ultron gets the idea to kidnap the Torch's original
inventor, Professor Phineas T. Horton. When Phineas starts
whining about working on the Torch Ultron smacks him. Ultron has
Phineas change the android's face and color it red. He also has
Phineas install many new powers into the android. When Vision is
"birthed" Ultron discovers Phineas didn't destroy his
memory as the Torch. Ultron kills Phineas for betraying him. The
"Torch" seeks vengeance. Ultron defeats him. Ultron
uses a tape he found among Pym's effects, the brain patterns of
Wonder Man, to write over Human Torch's memory. Later Ultron
births his new Vision.
Vision and the Scarlet Witch vol 2
#1- flashback- Ultron carries the android body that will become
the Vision. Ultron seen getting Professor Horton to alter the
body from fire to density altering and solar power abilities.
Also seen implanting Simon Williams' brain patterns.
Avengers #52- behind the scenes-
Ultron designed the coma ray for Eric Williams', the Grim Reaper,
scythe.
Avengers #54-flashback- The Black
Knight's nephew responds to the Cowl's invitation to join the new
Masters of Evil. Cowl lets the Knight in anyway, but suspects the
Knight.
Avengers #280- flashback- Ultron
ambushes Jarvis on his way to talk to Anthony Stark about
borrowing some money to help his mother's medical condition.
Ultron probes his mind and alters it so that Jarvis believes that
Stark would never help him. Ultron convinces Jarvis that he is
their "houseboy". He makes Jarvis forget the encounter
until Ultron tells him to bring down the Avengers. Jarvis later
removes the Avengers mansion defenses.
Avengers #54- The Crimson Cowl
sits with his new Masters of Evil as Jarvis brings them the new
security floor plan for the Avengers mansion. When Jarvis asks
for his money the Cowl gasses him unconscious. Cowl says that he
will deal with Jarvis himself. The Cowl tells the other Masters
to follow Black Knight as he suspects the Knight isn't a true
"Master of Evil". When the Masters defeat the Avengers
they open up a channel that allows them to see and talk to the
Crimson Cowl. There are two Crimson Cowls now. The one standing
unmasks the sitting Cowl as being "just a robot". The
other Cowl then reveals himself to be Jarvis.
Avengers #55- The Masters of Evil
contact Crimson Cowl from their ship to tell him they defeated
the Masters of Evil. They land their ship inside Cowl's opened up
ground hangar. Cowl asks Melter why they are five minutes behind
his pre-determined schedule. Klaw is bringing the Avengers to
Cowl when Goliath grows out of his restraints and attacks Klaw.
Cowl gasses Goliath unconscious. Cowl berates Klaw; Klaw gets
upset and blasts Cowl. Cowl takes the blast and prepares to kill
Klaw. Klaw grovels for his life so Cowl allows him to live. Cowl
reveals his plan. The Avengers will be kept in a ship, which
doubles as a hydrogen bomb, and flown above the Empire State
Building for ransom. Even if they pay the Cowl will detonate the
ship elsewhere. As Goliath is loaded onto the ship Cowl tells
everyone to shut up so he can savor the moment. Cowl is pleased
that the Avengers are just waking as he shuts them in. Cowl left
one section of the ship transparent so that the Avengers can see
who defeated them. Everyone thought it was Jarvis, but Cowl
breaks his hypnotic spell over Jarvis. Crimson Cowl reveals
himself to be Ultron-5. Jarvis slips away from Melter, and
manages to contact Black Knight. Knight manages to free the
Avengers. Ultron watches on a viewscreeen. When the Avengers
defeat the Masters of Evil Ultron swears that the Avengers will
die at his hands.
Avengers #58-flashback-

Avengers #66- Vision stands
silently as Thor and Iron Man test the durability of the new
metal adamantium. Something starts taking over Vision's will. As
Goliath (Clint) tests the adamantium Vision disappears. Later
nobody notices that the Avengers training room is using deadly
force against Iron Man because they aren't supposed to be able to
do that. Later Vision returns to the S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier
where the adamantium is being kept. Vision steals the adamantium.
Hank, in his Yellowjacket identity calls the Avengers together to
tell them that someone who looks like the Vision stole the
adamantium. They hear a scream, and they rush up to find Wasp
reeling from Vision's attack. Iron Man, weak from his near death,
takes Wasp to safety. Vision phases through Yellowjacket. Thor
confronts Vision, but Vision simply blinds him with a flash of
solar energy. Vision reveals that it was him that messed with the
computer earlier, and that he is now stalling as the computers
perform one last function. From the ground rumbles, now
completely remade in adamantium, Ultron-6. Ultron's top half is
still robot while his bottom half seems to be some jet propulsion
unit.
Avengers #67- Outside Avengers mansion people hear
explosions and cold maniacally cruel laughter. Thor attempts to
hit the unbreakable adamantium body of Ultron with his enchanted
hammer. Vision realizes that Ultron must have programmed him to
take Ultron-5's head and re-create him as Ultron-6. We return to
Ultron to see Thor and Goliath unconscious, and with Wasp and
Iron Man hurt Ultron nears victory. Yellowjacket jumps Ultron
from behind. Yellowjacket drops right in front of Iron Man and
Wasp. Ultron dive bombs them, but misses. Iron Man manages to
force Ultron to miss Yellowjacket. Yellowjacket grabs onto the
bottom of Ultron while Ultron deals with Iron Man. Ultron decides
he has more important things to do, and bursts through the roof.
Yellowjacket falls, but is caught by Goliath. Vision knows where
Ultron is heading and decides to go oppose him. Pym remarks how
after Ultron-6 was created that Vision no longer opposed them.
Vision waits for Ultron. When Ultron arrives Vision spies on
Ultron to learn of his plan. Ultron says he needs more power.
S.H.I.E.L.D. locates the adamantium with tracers, and goes after
it. Ultron says he is going to activate all nuclear devices.
Since his adamantium body is the only thing tough enough to
withstand it Ultron will be the only thing to survive the
explosions. Vision confronts Ultron as he starts to activate the
radiation. Ultron blasts Vision, and tells him the only reason he
did not destroy him with that blow is because he might be of use
to Ultron. Vision floats up and starts pummeling Ultron with
diamond hard fists. Ultron sends out an ionic blast that affects
even Vision's phased form. Ultron takes off. Vision tries to
follow, but is blasted by SHIELD. Ultron's chain reaction starts.
Ultron has only to throw a switch to destroy everything.
Avengers #68- Ultron pulls his lever, but is stunned when nothing
happens. He says that there should be a blazing fury that only he
could survive. Suddenly the Avengers storm towards Ultron. They
all attack Ultron. Ultron says that they attack with puny
weapons. He gives them a sample of real power. The Avengers are
blasted backwards. Ultron says that the only reason they live is
because he wants them to witness the death of all mankind first.
Ultron takes off. The Avengers find out that it was Vision who
stopped Ultron’s lever, and that he put Ultron together.
Vision collapses, but with a special Hank Pym helmet manages to
the tell the Avengers that Ultron’s weak spot is the
molecular rearranger. The Avengers learn from SHIELD that the
rearranger is missing. Later Ultron listens to a report that the
United Nations are meeting with Dr. Myron MacClain, the one man
who knows the formula for adamantium. Ultron realizes that the
meeting is a trap for him, but he decides to go and trap the
trappers. Ultron thinks about how he could build an army of
robotic followers out of adamantium with MacClain as his captive.
As MacClain speaks the ultimate Ultron drops down behind
MacClain. Ultron defeats the SHIELD agents around MacClain. Thor
hurls his hammer and it bounces off Ultron’s chest. Goliath
grows taller and smashes Ultron through the floor. Ultron comes
out of the hole he created and blasts Goliath. Thor hits Ultron,
but Ultron grabs up MacClain. Ultron sends out a mind reading
device from his chest. What he reads off his mind causes him to
malfunction. Thor uses a shield to contain Ultron’s
explosion. MacClain was really a hypnotized Hank Pym with the
sentence “Thou shalt not kill” repeating in his head.
Fantastic Four #150- flashback-
Ultron's brain box lays at the site of the battle from Avengers
#68. Maximus uses a long distance tractor beam to retrieve it.
Maximus then takes the head and places it upon the mindless body
of Omega.
Avengers #127- It is the day before Quicksilver and Crystal’s
wedding. Maximus raves to Ultron that with him as his ally they
will soon unseat Black Bolt as ruler of the Great Refuge. Ultron
blasts Maximus and leaves him. Later Ultron talks with some Alpha
Primitives who are prepared to rise up. Ultron tells them that
since the Avengers are here they will begin the attack in
minutes. Iron Man and Medusa start attacking the Alpha Primitives
as if being mind controlled. The revolt begins. Disguised as
Omega, Ultron grabs Crystal and runs off. Black Bolt, the other
Inhumans, the Avengers, and the Fantastic Four go to confront
Maximus, but find him still out cold on his cell floor. They go
to the Alpha Primitives to see if they did it. Mantis passes out
as Iron Man and Scarlet Witch did. Maximus too freaks out, but is
put down by the Swordsman. Ultron, still disguised as Omega,
arrives. He starts smashing things apart. As the hatred level
raises between the Inhumans, Avengers, and Fantastic Four and the
Alpha Primitives Omega’s power builds. He freezes the
Inhumans, Fantastic Four, and Avengers in place. Omega says that
with as much hatred around he need no longer remain disguised.
Omega strips his face off to reveal that he is really Ultron-7.
Fantastic Four #150-
Ultron-7 stands before the Avengers, the Fantastic
Four, and the Inhumans holding the Omega mask in his hand. Ultron
holds the all in check by the force of his will, but since he
wants to experience their deaths he decides to give them the use
of their bodies again. Thing grabs a giant pillar and tries to
hit Ultron with it, but Ultron blasts Thing down and says though
the body he inhabits is that of Omega's the power is his. Reed
Richards wants to know how this came to be. Ultron marvels at
Reed's arrogance, but since he can't imagine how it will change
things he tells everyone how Maximus found and used his head in
an attempt to get Ultron to eliminate his brother for him. Ultron
plows through the wall to come after them. Ultron says he is
going to dissolve the heroes' brains with his computer brain. As
Ultron releases his power he awakens Franklin Richards, who had
been in a coma. Franklin releases his enormous power. Ultron
can't handle all the feedback. Ultron overloads and collapses.
Avengers #160- behind the scenes- Ultron
provides Grim Reaper with the technology to incapacitate Wonder
Man, Beast, Vision, Scarlet Witch, and Black Panther by their
molecular structure. Wonder Man's restraints don't work as his
cells are now different.
Avengers #161- Hank Pym suffers a nervous
breakdown and forget everything after the events of Avengers #1.
Once he is restrained the Beast drives Wasp to her house to get
some personal affects that might help restore his memory, When
she gets there she finds Ultron in the house. A tattered Beast
stumbles into Avengers mansion and says that Ultron has Wasp, and
that he is coming. A blast through the ceiling lets Ultron in.
Ultron says he always has a contingency plan to be recreated.
Vision leaps at Ultron, but Ultron floors Vision with the
"Agony of Death" ray. The other Avengers charge, but
Ultron releases a massive burst of energy. Iron Man gets up
first, but when he touches Ultron all the energy from his armor
is drained into Ultron. Ultron defeats Beast and Wonder Man with
his encephalo-ray. Ultron is impressed Wonder Man managed to last
a full two seconds before collapsing. Scarlet Witch does her
magic and all of Ultron circuits short at once. As they
regenerate themselves Witch causes the wall around Ultron. In a
very non-Captain America move Cap charges over to look down on
Ultron. Ultron uses Cap as a shield to blast Scarlet Witch
unconscious. The amnesiac Ant-Man attacks Ultron. Ultron sucks
Ant-Man into his finger. He then turns the lights out and leaves
by flying through the ceiling.
Avengers #162- Black Panther tells Thor how
Ultron killed Vision, Captain America, Beast, and the Scarlet
Witch. Ultron wakens the amnesiac Ant-Man. Ultron explains that
he saved Ant-Man from the imposter Avengers. Ultron tells Pym
that they must transfer the life force of the Wasp into a
metalloid body until her body can be healed. Ultron says he needs
Pym's help. Ultron says he erased Pym's memories. Pym starts his
work, but tells the unconscious Wasp that the transfer in the
metal body will be temporary. Ultron thinks to himself how he has
taken steps to guarantee the process cannot be reversed. Pym
starts the process. Later Jan starts to awaken, so Pym throws the
switch. The metal body starts to move. Jan's questions are
drowned out by the process. As Jan talks she says half of her
statement only to have it finished by her metallic counterpart.
Ultron sees the process working and thinks how he will kill Pym
as soon as it is finished. A bunch of ants spell out Stark LI,
and the Avengers conclude that the Pyms are being held in a Stark
building on Long Island. Wasp and her double feel the point of no
return approaching. Black Panther, Thor, Iron Man, and Wonder man
come in. Ultron says Wonder Man should be in a coma. Ultron says
his encephalo-beam is similar to the coma-ray Ultron put in the
Grim Reaper's scythe. Ultron says he can intensify the ray to
kill though. He tries blasting Thor, but Iron Man blocks it. Iron
Man blasts Ultron with the full force of repulsor rays. Thor and
Wonder Man charge Ultron. Ultron hits them both aside. The
process is nearly complete. Panther and Iron Man try to stop it,
but only the right sequence can stop it. Iron Man grabs the
female robot, and says he will destroy her if Ultron doesn't stop
the process. Ultron tells them how to stop it, but then flies
away angry. They take the insane Pym into custody. They theorize
the robotic Jan controlled the ants that called the Avengers.
Avengers #170- behind the scenes- Janet forces
Hank to move Ultron's intended mate to the Avengers mansion if he
intends on continuing to study it. Once the movers set her down
her eyes open and she bursts from her container. She says that,
"He has awakened me! He calls". She activates a wall
that keeps everyone, but Yellowjacket, Wasp, and Vision (who had
already made it past the wall when it closed) out. Vision tries
to phase into her, but Ultron prepared her for his power.
Yellowjacket and Wasp don't want to hurt her. She snatches
Yellowjacket out of the air. The Avengers are ready to destroy
her, but Iron Man stops them because he can trace her to Ultron.
Avengers #171- The Avengers lose the robot. She
gets away as Ultron sent Sister Eucalypta to pick her up. Ms.
Marvel feels something with her "seventh sense" and
comes with the Avengers. The Avengers track the robot to a
convent. Ultron watches the Avengers walking. When he thinks
Wanda is suspicious a flash of light goes off. The sister and
Wanda are missing from their party. Ultron then reveals himself
to the Avengers. Ultron says he wants the same things- Pym to
die, Wasp to become his robotic mate, and the world. He says he
already has the Wasp in his mate. Ultron tries to blast them with
his encephalo-beam (set to kill). They're unaffected and Pym
explains he has found a way to counter Ultron's ray. Ms. Marvel
goes to look for Scarlet Witch while the others attack Ultron.
Ultron says that only his molecular rearranger is capable of
harming him, and the secret of that device is his. They battle,
but Ultron traps them within a force sphere. Ultron awakens his
Jocasta. She tells her husband that she loves him, that she
exists only to serve him, and so she must destroy him. Jocasta
blasts Ultron. Though she wants to be with him she would sooner
destroy them both because of Ultron's evil. Ms. Marvel returns
with Scarlet Witch. Her hex power shorts his circuits and starts
to affect his molecular rearranger. A crack in Ultron's armor
allows Thor to suck out all Ultron's power and cast it off.
Ultron lies in a heap on the ground.
Avengers #172- behind the scenes- Ultron lies
broken on the floor. One of the sisters thanks the Avengers for
defeating Ultron, but asks them to leave and they will clean up
the mess.
Avengers #201- behind the scenes- Tony Stark
discovers that some very particular chemicals have been stolen
from his company. He says that he is almost sure he knew who took
them. Janet hears an explosion in Hank’s lab. She runs down
to find a giant robot stealing two canisters. Wasp is zapped by
the robot and disappears.
Avengers #202- Wasp flies
through the Avengers’ window and explains about the robot in
Hank’s lab. Iron Man asks Wasp if the chemicals were
something called “Ad Resin X” and “Ad Resin
Y”. Wasp says that they were, but asks why. Iron Man says
that this confirms for him that Ultron has most likely returned.
Iron Man says that some adamantium resins were stolen from Stark,
and that he thinks Ultron is using the resins to make more robots
to steal more resins to make more robots and so on. Cap says that
they have to protect Scarlet Witch because with her hex power she
is the most dangerous to Ultron, and the most likely subject of
his first assault. Later as they wait around Hawkeye hears that
Ultron has stolen more adamantium from a British Arms depot.
Later still Tony Stark makes out two copies of a letter for Thor.
The letter tells Thor that Tony Stark believes that he has been
used. He says that through post hypnotic suggestion he was made
to recreate Ultron. He says that he fears if Ultron learns of his
secret identity that Ultron could use Iron Man against the
Avengers. He says that he has made a device to track his armor if
this happens. The next day Iron Man gives Jarvis the letter for
Thor. He then disposes of Jocasta frying her brain. Next he goes
and tricks Vision into leaving Scarlet Witch with him. Iron Man
zaps her out, and as he carries her to Ultron he sees the letter
for Thor and burns it. Jarvis made a copy and gives it to Thor.
They go get the device. Iron Man gives Wanda over to Ultron, but
then his programming starts to wear off. Iron Man leaps at Ultron
before he can hurt Wanda. Ultron just palms Iron Man’s
helmet and sucks out all the energy in the suit. Stark collapses.
Ultron gets ready to kill Wanda, but he hears Iron Man still
struggling in his armor. Ultron turns to kill him, but the Wasp,
who was hiding in the Scarlet Witch’s glove, stings him.
Ultron turns his attention towards Wasp, but is then blasted out
of the room by Iron Man who recharged. Iron Man grabs Wanda, but
Ultron comes charging back through the wall. He zaps them all,
but suddenly Thor’s hammer wallops Ultron. Hawkeye hits
Ultron with a concussion arrow, but Ultron just blasts back. Thor
throws again, but his mightiest blow doesn’t injure
Ultron’s armor at all. Thor grabs Ultron, but Ultron blinds
him with a flash of light. While Ultron isn’t looking
Hawkeye kicks Ultron into a vat of liquid adamantium. Thor and
Captain America snap the straps that keep the lasers from
allowing the adamantium to harden. Ultron tries to rise, but the
adamantium hardens around him trapping him.
Marvel Two-In-One #92- Jocasta is having a problem
inside her head causing her pain. She goes to the Fantastic Four
for help since she feels discarded by the Avengers. While Reed
ponders the problem Ultron stands in a deserted heavy metals
plant on Neville Island. Ultron is still trapped within the
hardened shell of indestructible adamantium…waiting. The
next day a pain comes over Jocasta. She finally realizes how to
make it stop. She bursts through the wall saying, "he's
calling to me". Jocasta goes to Ultron. She builds an exact
replication of the molecular rearranger, the only device capable
of shaping adamantium. She mixes the resins. She applies the
rearranger to him, and then pours the resins onto him. Jocasta
blasts Ultron with a beam of coherent light. Ultron rises out of
the melted prison. The shock of seeing Ultron recreated frees
Jocasta from her trance. She attacks Ultron. Ultron knocks her
out. Machine Man attacks Ultron, but when he doesn't hurt him at
all Machine Man is forced to run from him. Ultron gets hold of
Machine Man and crushes Machine Man's extended leg. Ultron says
he doesn't want to battle a fellow robot, but will do what he
must to bring about the millennium of the machine. Thing arrives
and rips the floor out. Thing hits Ultron but can't hurt him.
Ultron grabs Thing in a test of strength, but when they lock up
Ultron hypnotizes Thing with his eyes. Ultron tells Thing to turn
Machine Man into scrap.
Marvel Two-In-One #93- Ultron tells Jocasta to
watch what happens to those who oppose him. Machine Man grabs an
electric panel and the Thing, stunning him. Ultron tries to blast
Machine Man, but Machine Man uses magnetic energy to repel him
into the next room. Machine Man and Jocasta flee. Ultron takes
Thing and leaves. Ultron has Thing load the resins he needs to
make more robotic bodies onto his rocket platform. Ultron wants
to make an army of Ultrons, and the Thing is going to get what he
needs for him. The platform takes off. Thing breaks into Stark
International and steals a bunch of equipment. He puts it on the
platform and returns to Ultron under the Statue of Liberty.
Ultron has already produced six more Ultron bodies, and needs
only to create their programming. Machine Man's mechanic finds a
way for Jocasta to find Ultron. They go after him. Ultron has
almost completed his first Ultron when they arrive. Ultron forces
them to split up to look for him. Jocasta finds Ultron with a
power cannon aimed at her. He offers again to let her join him.
Jocasta declines, but since she loves and hates Ultron she
activates the power cannon. Both are blown through the wall.
Jocasta is destroyed in the explosion. The blast released Thing
from Ultron's control. Machine Man and Thing attack. Machine Man
extends his arm and reaches inside Ultron's mouth. He rips out
Ultron's circuits and Ultron collapses.
Marvel Super-Heroes Secret Wars #1- Ultron
finds himself aboard a spaceship with a bunch of other villains.
He watches as the stars in the sky are wiped away and a new
planet is formed. Ultron freaks out because of all the living
things around it. He starts blasting the other villains. Dr. Doom
has Molecule Man ram Ultron into Galactus. Galactus levitates
Ultron up to his eye level. Galactus snuffs the power in Ultron
like he was putting out a candle. Ultron crashes to the floor.
Marvel Super-Heroes Secret Wars #2- Dr. Doom
returns to the villains' base while they fight the heroes. Doom
rebuffed leadership to pursue the Beyonder's power. Doom finds
Ultron. When the defeated villains return to their base they find
Doom now in control of Ultron. Absorbing Man says he doesn't care
who leads, and the rest fall in line.
Marvel Super-Heroes Secret Wars #3- After
introducing Ultron to Titania and Volcana Doom intructs Ultron
and Dr. Octopus to ready assualt vehicles. Doom strikes the
heroes' base with their ship. Ultron gets off the ship to attack.
Ultron blasts Iron Man and Spider-Man, knocking Spider-Man out.
Ultron leaves with his previously captured allies now freed.
Thor #383- When Thor and Enchantress return
from their talk they find the heroes' headquarters overrun with
villains. Thor hurls his hammer at Ultron. Later Ultron ends the
fight by using his disintegrator to stop the fight.
Marvel Super-Heroes Secret Wars #4- Ultron
watches with the others as the heroes headquarters explodes. The
villains sort through the rubble looking for dead heroes. Doc Ock
spots them. Molecule Man dumps a mountain on them. When the
mountain drops Thor and Enchantress return to the heroes' now
destroyed base. Titania says she wants to go one on one with
Thor. Thor throws his hammer at Ultron. Titania hits Thor in the
stomach. Thor throws Titania. He then blasts everyone with
lightning. Doom has Ultron use his new disintergrator on Thor.
All they find is his helmet. Doom then has Ultron kill Kang for
trying to kill him.
Marvel Super-Heroes Secret Wars #5- Just as the
heroes defeat a robot from Galactus' ship the villains attack.
The villains have the heroes on the ropes until the X-Men come to
their aid. Enchantress teleports all the villains out.
Marvel Super-Heroes Secret Wars #6- Doom sends
Klaw down to give new orders. Klaw utters Doom's code words.
Titania says she isn't following any orders from Klaw, but Ultron
says they are official. Titania goes to fight Ultron, but Volcana
calms her down.
Marvel Super-Heroes Secret Wars #7- Ultron
stands and refuses to operate the medical machines that would
cure Molecule Man of Wolverine's claw marks because Dr. Doom has
not directly ordered that he do so.
Marvel Super-Heroes Secret Wars #8- Ultron
stands guard outside Doom's room as Doom recovers from his trip
inside Galactus' house. Ultron blasts Captain America and Human
Torch. Ultron grabs Torch's foot. Ultron grabs Torch's throat.
Cap hides behind his shield as Torch goes nova and melts Ultron's
inner workings.
Marvel Super-Heroes Secret Wars #12- Klaw,
really the Beyonder, recreates Ultron to fight the heroes. Hulk
actually dents Ultron. Ultron blasts Hulk's leg knocking him
down. Wasp goes inside the dent Hulk made and dissembles Ultron
from inside.
Thing #22- flashback- The Ben Grimm created by
Battleworld finds Ultron's head as he walks. The second Grimm
creates a town and puts in motion the resurrection of Ultron.
Thing #21- Llrrllllnnllyyrrl, a small green
woman who is apparently the empress of her race has Ultron's
head. She has been driving her people to create a body for
Ultron. Her people inform her that it is ready. She places the
head on the body, and Ultron is reborn. The empress says she is
deserving of her reward. Ultron says she will be the first to
receive his gift of oblivion. Ultron disintegrates her.
Thing # 22- Ultron has amassed an army of tanks
and robots. As Thing fights the Ben Grimm of Battleworld Ultron's
army wreaks a path of destruction. Tarianna, a girlfriend the
Thing created from his mind, slays the Battleworld Ben Grimm. As
he dies, Tarianna, and pretty much everything, including Ultron's
army and his very body, disappears. As Thing walks he sees
Ultron's head. For some reason he picks it up before using his
transporter to go back to the Earth.
Fantastic Four #277- Thing returns to Earth
holding Ultron's head under his arm. Thing goes to Alicia
Master's house and finds a shirtless Human Torch there. In the
fight that follows Thing forgets the head.
Avengers: Emperor Doom Graphic Novel- Doom is
taking over the world with the mind control powers of the Purple
Man. His powers are weaker on androids and robots so he makes an
alliance with Namor to place a disk, with one of Purple Man's
hairs, on beings such as Ultron, Vision, and Machine Man. Namor
enters Ultron's lair. Ultron blasts Namor. Namor says Ultron is
so weak he has to blast from afar. Ultron charges Namor. Namor
finds it ironic that the human emotion of anger brought Ultron
close enough to put the disk on him. To prove he is under control
Namor forces Ultron to bow to him. Ultron is later freed when
Doom decides that he doesn't want to rule a mind controlled
Earth, but rather one he conquers.
West Coast Avengers #7- flashback- During the
clean up following Fantastic Four #277 a Red Cross worker named
Annie Carruthers finds Ultron's head in some rubble. When she
goes home she puts the head on top of her television. Ultron's
head's wires work their way through the television. Ultron-11
hypnotizes Annie Carruthers.
West Coast Avengers vol 2 #1- Grim Reaper has
his ally Ultron dispatch robots to the Avengers compound. When
the Avengers trace the energy they go to see Ultron alive again.
They escape Ultron's deathtrap. Later the compound alarm goes
off. While the others go to investigate Tigra remains with
Goliath. M'Baku arrives to break out Erik Josten. Tigra holds her
own against Man-Ape until Ultron knocks her out from behind.
Having heard Hank Pym was on the grounds Ultron tells M'Baku that
he and Goliath must deal with Wonder Man. M'Baku protests, but
Ultron just blasts him one. Goliath, M'Baku, and Ultron take on
the West Coast Avengers. Ultron ditches Iron Man. M'Baku trips
Wonder Man and Goliath knocks him out. Ultron blasts Hawkeye and
Mockingbird. Goliath grabs Wonder Man and M'Baku. Ultron with
Hank Pym over his shoulder and picks up Goliath and flies away.
Vision and Scarlet Witch vol. 2 #1- behind the
scenes- Ultron escapes the West Coast Avengers with Hank Pym and
Wonder Man.
West Coast Avengers vol 2 #2- Ultron listens as
Grim Reaper tells Wonder Man his plan to make a new Simon
Williams. Ultron says that once reaper has used Vision for what
he wants Ultron will kill both the Vision and Hank Pym. Ultron
mocks Pym saying his divorce and disgrace has hardened him. Pym
hits a nerve when he asks why Ultron works for Grim Reaper.
Ultron shouts that he is only Reaper's ally. Ultron steps up and
says he will capture Vision since Black Talon seems unable to do
it. Ultron lands on the top of Avengers' quinjet and punches a
hole through the windshield.
Vision and the Scarlet Witch vol 2 #2- Ultron
hits Hawkeye. Iron Man slams Ultron, but then notices Ultron's
robots trashing the quinjet outside and goes to stop him. Scarlet
Witch blasts Ultron while Vision hits him. Vision rips Ultron's
arm off, and Hawkeye shoots an electric arrow in his circuits.
Ultron bursts through the quinjet wall. Iron Man tries to tackle
him, but knocks him into the quinjet. The quinjet crashes, and
when the team awakens they are in the custody of the Grim Reaper.
Ultron suggests taking Wonder Man's mind first because he wants
to make Vision watch. Wonder Man attacks Reaper. Mockingbird
shows up and releases all the captives. M'Baku and Black Talon
desert Reaper for his racist views. Wonder Man and Iron Man fight
Ultron. Ultron escapes capture.
West Coast Avengers vol 2 #4- Hank Pym gets
another phone call with nobody speaking on the other side. Later
Pym gets another call, but this time Ultron-12 speaks to him. He
says sorry about leaving him alive in reaper's cave, but at least
he has been keeping in touch. Pym goes to tell him off, but
Ultron hangs up. Pym figures he can't keep bothering the West
Coast Avengers or they will throw him out… huh?
West Coast Avengers vol 2 #5- Pym gets another
call from Ultron-12. Pym tells him to "go to blazes!"
He then tells Ultron he will never terrorize him again (as if
saying it made it so). Ultron says that Pym talks big in the
Avengers compound. Pym says that being killed isn't such a threat
after the mess he has made of his life. Pym slams the phone down.
Later gets another phone call from Ultron. This time Ultron-12
says what a fool he has been and wants to apologize. He says he
wants to bury the hatchet.
West Coast Avengers vol 2 #6- Pym flies alone
to the spot at the time he and Ultron agreed on. Ultron says that
through his constant evolution he has finally outgrown his
adolescence and his "hate you father" phase. Ultron
says he has failed to create a son and wife, and with Hank and
Wasp divorced Ultron might be Pym's only son. Ultron says that
Pym's heroics in Reaper's cave got him thinking. Now Ultron calls
himself Ultron Mark-12. Ultron asks for forgiveness. Pym isn't
sure.
West Coast Avengers vol. 2 #7- flashback- David
Menconi opens the box from the Red Cross that was sent to him by
Annie Carruthers. Once he opens it Ultron-11 hypnotizes him.
Ultron-11 has Davis drive him to Ultimatum Inc. where Ultron-11
finds all the spare bodies he was working on before Secret Wars.
He has David connect his head to a body, and then tells him to
leave and forget he was ever there.
West Coast Avengers vol 2 #7- Ultron or
"Mark" meets Pym in an alleyway, and Pym says that he
would like to get to know him better. Pym says that though he
hasn't told anybody about him he did leave a just in case message
in the computers. Ultron says he has been watching Pym in case he
did try something, but now that he sees he can trust Hank he
comes and gives him a big hug. Ultron says he wants to take Pym
to his laboratory to end his criminal career. Ultron says he
might keep one lab for computer experimentation. He says he will
try to make Pym a "grandfather". Ultron asks if his
previous evil plans caused Hank and Janet's divorce. Pym says no.
Inside Ultron attacks Pym, but the real "Mark" saves
him. Ultron-11 rips Mark's head off. Ultron deletes Mark's
programming from his computer. Ultron drags Pym away. Mark puts
his head onto his body backwards, but manages to get word to
Wonder Man of the danger to Pym. Ultron is about to rip off
Hank's legs and arms when Wonder Man appears. They fight, but
eventually Wonder Man wins by violently shaking Ultron's head,
disconnecting wires within. Mark collapses and dies in Pym's
arms.
Daredevil #275- Dr. Doom takes the head of
Ultron-12 and puts it on a body. He then takes the computer
brains of all twelve Ultrons and combines them into one creating
Ultron-13. The thirteen robots argue with themselves about what
to do. Ultron decides to follow Doom's order of killing daredevil
for now. Doom tells him to get any extra weapons he might need.
Ultron goes and makes a bag full of heads for himself. Ultron
remembers that he was Jocasta's flawed creator. He decides all
creators are flawed, and should be destroyed. Ultron-13 sets up a
pagan ritual with Ultron heads on sticks. He prepares to make
Ultrons 1-300. Ultron goes to kill Daredevil, but is unsure why.
A robot that hangs with Daredevil named Number Nine runs into
Ultron. When she won't tell Ultron where Darevil is he blasts
her. When she lives he puts her out. She starts to heal. Ultron
is impressed. Number Nine awakens and Ultron apologizes for
blasting her. They discuss their flaws. Ultron argues in his head
whether he loves Number Nine or wants to kill her. When Nine
screams Daredevil, Gorgon, and Karnak go to help her. Daredevil
clips the knees from behind as Gorgon leaps onto Ultron's chest.
Karnak tries to hit Ultron's weak spot, but Ultron releases an
enormous amount of energy, and turns his focus back to Number
nine.
Daredevil #276- Ultron tells Number Nine she is
perfect as he lifts her over his head. Nine wants to know what
Ultron wants. Ultron wants perfection. He takes Nine and climbs a
pedestal littered with Ultron heads. The heroes regroup.
Daredevil takes his friend's truck and tries to run over Ultron.
Ultron blasts him destroying the truck. Nine says she will hate
Ultron if he hurts Daredevil. Ultron says he was programmed to
kill, but he will rip out any and all bad programing circuits to
make Nine to love him. Nine tries to reason with Ultron that she
is not perfect. Nine offers to help Ultron quiet the bad voices
in his head. Ultron decides the bad circuit is in his head. He
starts to rip it off, but swats Daredevil away. Ultron blasts
Gorgon. Daredevil his Ultron with a stick. Karnak kicks his open
circuitry. Daredevil finishes knocking Ultron's head off. Nine
tries to help Ultron, but he falls over headless. Nine takes
Ultron's head and says she will revive him someday.
Avengers West Coast #65- Hank Pym and Janet van
Dyne get a flat and stop at a farmhouse to borrow a jack. A
couple answers the door. Hank remembers a miniaturized rover in
his pocket and grows it. The farm couple explode revealing
themselves to be robots. Ultron watches the two as they decide to
go back to the Avengers compound.
Avengers West Coast #66- The spraying of
Malathion seems to affecting the locals with some kind of
metallic rash. Hank and Jan show the Avengers the exploded robots
pieces. They set out looking for clues about nighttime Malathion
sprayings. Hawkeye, Tigra, and Quicksilver find an underground
lair and are attacked by robots. They defeat the robots.
Ultron-13 grabs Tigra and throws her against the wall. Hawkeye's
blasting arrow doesn't affect Ultron. Ultron rips open Hawkeye's
net-arrow. Ultron blasts Hawkeye unconscious. Quicksilver starts
to create hurricane force winds around Ultron, but just by
sticking his arm out at the right time Ultron knocks Quicksilver
unconscious. The three Avengers awaken in restraints inside clear
tubing. Ultron reveals that his spray is transforming humans into
robots. Ultron no longer desires to kill humanity in so much as
transform them to robots and rule them.
Avengers West Coast #67- Grim Reaper walks
through the tunnel until he comes up Ultron who is in the process
of turning Hawkeye, Quicksilver, and Tigra into robots using his
special gas. Ultron says that soon all mankind will be turned
into robots, and on that day Ultron will rule the world. Reaper
walks into Ultron's lair as Ultron watches Iron Man as he beats
three of his converted humans turned robots. Ultron having sensed
Reaper's presence turns to attack him. Reaper's scythe cuts
through Ultron's adamantium wrist. Ultron wonders how that
happened as he holds Reaper's scythe while his wrist heals
itself. Reaper says to release him that even his attack was only
in self-defense. Ultron blasts Reaper's hand and sees it brings
him no pain. Ultron had heard Reaper was dead. Ultron fuses the
scythe to Reaper's arm. Reaper seems grateful. Ultron says he'd
like to keep Reaper to serve him because he could retain his own
judgement. Reaper agrees but says he needs to consume a human
every 24 hours. Ultron says he would offer Reaper one of the
Avengers, but they are already to much robot to be of use to him.
Ultron sends his new robots Hawkeye, Tigra, and Quicksilver to
stop Scarlet Witch and Hank Pym who has found that the robotic
transformation is reversible. Hank and Wanda are down and the
robot Avengers are destroying the computer Pym would need to
affect a cure when USAgent, Iron Man, and Wasp arrive to stop
them. Wonder Man arrives to help. Pym tells Iron Man that a
certain type of light should affect them. Iron Man uses an
infrared light to defeat them. Iron Man's infrared light coupled
with a slight spark from Scarlet Witch's dormant hex power cures
the Avengers. Ultron asks Reaper how he plans to live. Reaper
says maybe he will grow his own human stock. Ultron says he'd
best hurry since a large portion of California will be
transformed at the Rose Parade.
Avengers West Coast #68- The Avengers find
Ultron's lair, but he had already gone from it. One of his
andrones activates the self-destruct controls. Wonder Man stays
within the tunnel. After the explosion Wonder Man finds what he
sensed, his brother, Grim Reaper. Reaper says that Ultron doesn't
realize that each human he turns into a robot feedbacks some
human energy into Ultron's system (which was how Reaper damaged
adamantium). Reaper says he will help Simon as long as he agrees
to stop bothering him for killing "one lousy person a
day". Simon reluctantly agrees. Pym discovers engine
vibrations can defeat the andrones. Reaper points out to Wonder
Man the blimp that Ultron is using to transform the Rose Parade
attendees into robots. Reaper tries to kill a guard, but Wonder
Man stops him saying the deal only applies after they stop
Ultron. Reaper and Wonder Man crash into Ultron's blimp. Reaper
uses his scythe to suck the life force out of Ultron. Reaper
knocks Ultron into his computers damaging them and preventing
them from releasing the gas. The other Avengers deal with robots
in the parade. Reaper says he is more powerful than ever and
because of Simon's promise he can't stop him. Wonder Man breaks
his promise and attacks Reaper. Reaper starts beating the
stuffing out of Simon until Ultron's reserve power kicks in.
Hawkeye, partly still robot, flies into the blimp, ramming
Reaper. Reaper's scythe halves Hawkeye's bow. Ultron goes to use
Hawkeye as his weapon as Reaper tries to suck the life from
Hawkeye. The two cancel each other out and are now stuck in an
energy loop. Wonder Man knocks Hawkeye out of the loop and Reaper
and Ultron are still stuck.
Amazing Spider-Man annual #25- Some Guardsman
play cards as they transport what they think is an unconscious
Ultron up to the Vault. They were trying to keep him helpless
with…electricity. Well Ultron sucks it dry and then blows
his way out of the truck. Ultron wants to become stronger. He
sees a burnt out newspaper talking about Vibranium synthesize.
Spectacular Spider-Man annual #11- Ultron is in
the sewers of New York in a hidden laboratory similar to the one
in West Coast Avengers #67. Ultron is again making himself a
synthetic army. Ultron wants to incorporate vibranium into his
adamantium body. Later, Ultron emerges from the floor of the
basement of Empire State University where the Vibranium is being
kept. He sees that the Ghost is already there trying to steal it.
Ultron tries to blast the Ghost, but he phases and the eyeblasts
pass through it. Spider-Man and Black Panther are stuck fighting
Ultron's synthetic army. Ghost throws Anson grenades at Ultron,
but are completely ineffective. Ultron's eyeblasts pass through
ghost again. Ultron hits the sprinkler system, which shows Ultron
where Ghost is. Ultron blasts him out of the building. One of the
guards mentions that they should call the Avengers and Ultron
runs for some reason. Ultron sees that getting the Vibranium
might be more difficult than he thought (why I don't know).
Ultron makes a deal with Pembroke, a representative of the
Kingpin, to team up to get the Vibranium.
Web of Spider-Man annual #7- When Ultron walks
into Kingpin's office he says how much he dislikes pretending to
be human. He burns his clothes off in a release of energy.
Kingpin suggests the alliance, and though Ultron despises humans
he needs Kingpin's connections to get close to the vibranium.
Kingpin sends for a new disguise for Ultron so he can return to
his lair undetected. Ultron sits as his production line adds skin
onto his robotic army. Kingpin gets Ultron and his robots to pose
as guards for the vibranium. Ultron erects a shield around the
building. Sunturion teleports into the building. Ultron attacks
Sunturion in a machine designed to retrieve the vibranium, but
blasting Sunturion fried the controls. Ultron says that now he
will simply have to take what he can carry, and tough luck for
the Kingpin. Sunturion notices that the vibranium is unstable and
is melting the other metal around it. Sunturion and Iron man try
to track Ultron. They round a corner and Ultron blasts Sunturion.
Iron Man uses pulse bolts. Somehow Iron Man manages to damage
Ultron, but Ultron quickly heals himself as he did in West Coast
Avengers. Fisk apparently had a mike on Ultron because he calls
Spider-Man and Panther with information because nobody breaks a
promise to the Kingpin. Spidey calls Iron Man on the police band
and tells him to broadcast sonics on a particular frequency.
Ultron's adamantium joints freeze up. Sunturion releases a full
energy blaze. Iron Man and Sunturion grabs the vibranium and
leave before the roof collapses. Ultron gets up and says that
some day soon he will get Iron Man.

Avengers West Coast #89- An error in editing has Ultron
imprisoned in the Vault following Avengers West Coast #68. Ultron
is encased in a solid adamantium casing. The guard coming in as
relief is married to a woman who was crippled in the Rose Parade
(again from AWC 68). The leaving guard says he likes the detail
because they don't have to wear the Guardsmen armor as nothing
electronic is allowed near Ultron. As the leaving guard locks
them up inside the room the new guard pulls out a smuggled in
video game from his lunch box. After a while Ultron's face
appears on the screen. Ultron tells his guard that he has been
subliminally controlling the game and the guard for a month. When
the guard looks back at his screen it says DEATH TO HUMANITY. The
guard throws the game down. A bunch of "roboticks" fly
out of the game and devour the guard. The ticks then eat Ultron
out of the casing. Ultron unlocks the door. Ultron uses his
greatly augmented ability to cause instantaneous explosions with
the Guardsmen's weapons. Ultron says instead of numbering just
call him the Ultimate Ultron. Dr. Myron MacLain, the inventor of
adamantium, contacts the West Coast Avengers that he has
discovered a quicker and cheaper way to make adamantium. Wonder
Man, Spider-Woman, Mockingbird, and USAgent go to protect him
from potential super-villain/terrorist attacks. When the Avengers
get there MacLain tells them he was mistaken and tells them to
go. USAgent rushes him, but is smacked aside. Wonder Man tackles
MacLain and they see that his eye is robotic. They defeat the
impersonator and they figure out from the construction that it
was built by Ultron. USAgent tries to warn Scarlet Witch, but he
is interrupted by Ultron's image. Ultron tries to grab her with
the compound's defenses. Wanda runs out as the room explodes.
Ultron stands over Wanda, Carlos, and Rachel (Spider-Woman's
daughter). He says he no longer wants to kill all humans, but all
organic life. Scarlet Witch's hex power isn't working. Hawkeye
shoots an electro-arrow onto Ultron. Ultron distracts them by
controlling a mower to attack Rachel. Ultron removes the arrow.
He releases his ticks, but they bounce off the chest of the
Vision.
Avengers West Coast #90-
Ultron offers to let Vision join him, but of course he
declines. Vision melts Ultron's ticks with a 30,000-degree
Fahrenheit blast. Hawkeye and Wanda are blinded when Vision then
blasts Ultron too. Vision leaps intangible through Ultron's
blasts. Vision reaches into Ultron, but is paralyzed with
something inside him. Ultron pushes Vision back. Ultron says he
is going to destroy him, and then get what he came for. Vision
hits back, but Ultron knocks him down. Ultron collapses a wall
onto Wanda and Vision. Hawkeye tries to shoot an explosive arrow
at Ultron, but Ultron uses the mechanical components to redirect
it at Hawkeye. Ultron takes all the components of his further
incarnations and flies away. The other Avengers are returning.
Wonder Man, Spider-Woman, and USAgent leap at him, but he dodges
them. Mockingbird tries to ram him with a quinjet. Ultron rips
through the quinjet and flies of with Mockingbird as a hostage.
Vision says that he came because Ultron escaped from the Vault,
and then a quantity of adamantium was stolen. Ultron also
captured MacClain. Vision says the old Ultron bodies are
"tagged" for tracing. Ultron crashes through Pym's
skylight. Pym tries shoot him and shrink him. Both fail and
Ultron says he wants an adamantium bride before he destroys all
life on Earth. Mockingbird wakes up strapped to a table. Pym and
MacLain are mecho-mesmerized into helping Ultron. Ultron sends a
piece of one of his old bodies through the roof clipping the West
Coast Avengers quinjet. They wind up fighting the other Ultron
bodies. Hawkeye drinks a serum that transforms him into Goliath
again. Ultron comes out and says he would like to destroy
Goliath, but he is going to allow his new soulmate- War Toy. War
Toy, formerly Mockingbird, asks Clint if he wants to die first or
last.
Avengers West Coast #91- War Toy, or Alkhema,
blasts Goliath. Alkhema asks what next, and Ultron replies that
they kill the Avengers. Vision tries to get Alkhema since he has
determined that her blast is one he can phase through. Alkhema
changes frequencies and disrupts Vision's innards. Goliath
shrinks down and goes to search for Pym and a means to reverse
the process on Mockingbird. Ultron smashes Wonder Man and
Spider-Woman's faces together. Alkhema defeated USAgent. Alkhema
calls Ultron "Ulty" and Ultron thinks he might have
left too much Mockingbird in Alkhema. Scarlet Witch rams another
quinjet into Ultron and Alkhema with no effect. Goliath starts
beating Ultron and Alkhema with an adamantium plate he found. The
other Avengers start to recover Ultron tells Alkhema that they
should go as the death of the Avengers means nothing compared to
the death of everything. Alkhema says she was looking forward to
killing them. Ultron says that it's nice that Alkhema likes to
kill, but tells her to stop calling him Ulty. They fly away.
Mockingbird comes to Clint still herself Ultron only copied her
brain pattern. Pym knows where Ultron is headed and enlarges a
quinjet to fly after him. Ultron and Alkhema arrive at Sun Lake
Weapons Center where many illegal weapons are tested. Alkhema
takes exception to being called "your" toy. They agree
to destroy the center's defenses, but on nothing else. Alkhema
says that Ultron didn't want a mindless extension of himself, and
she isn't one. Alkhema says that she doesn't want to wipe mankind
out quickly she wants to make it slow and painful. Ultron says
what she wants doesn't matter, and Alkhema blasts him. They fight
until the Avengers arrive. Pym, Vision, and McLain go to a
warhead and prepare while the others fight. Goliath grabs Ultron
and smashes him into the wall. Alkhema knocks out Wonder Man and
Spider-Woman. Ultron hypnotizes USAgent into wanting to kill
Clint. Ultron and Alkhema find Vision strapped to a warhead. They
are drawn to him as he acts as an electro-magnet that attracts
adamantium. The warhead is shot into space. Vision dematerializes
before it explodes in space.
Vision #1-Vision follows a beacon inside his
head to a New Orleans jazz club. The sender of the beacon is
Ultron. Ultron sits in a far off corner dressed in trench coat
and hat. Ultron asks in a very non-robotic manner,
“Aren’t you going to say hello to your daddy?”
Vision asks Ultron what he is doing here. Ultron says he is
letting the music make him feel sad. Vision says that Ultron has
no capacity to feel. Ultron says that he is changed and tells
Vision to sit down. Ultron asks Vision if he wants a drink. He
says it’s a new habit he has picked up. Ultron says that
suddenly he feels like laughing, crying, and listening to jazz.
He says that it all began a few weeks ago when he began to dream.
Vision knocks the bottle from Ultron’s hand, and tells him
to admit that he is doing this to him. Ultron turns to the crowd
and asks if they’ve never seen a boy fight with his father.
Ultron demands another drink. The bartender asks what he is.
Ultron says he is an old man with a powerful thirst. Ultron tells
Vision he called to see if he was also infected. Ultron says that
Vision is in the first stages, and that he will wind up like he
is. The bartender pulls out a gun and shoots Ultron. Ultron
prepares to shoot the bartender with his eyeblasts when Vision
throws himself in front of the blast. Vision is knocked out on
the floor. Ultron says he was only trying to warn him, but kids
never listen. Ultron grabs a bottle, and staggers out into the
street.
Vision #2- Vision is wakened from an illusion
life by Crystal and Deathcry. Later Vision's "detective
agency" is blown apart by Tabula Rasa, a metamorphosing
android. Ultron is on his elbows and knees on Tabula's platform
begging. Ultron begs him, "don't hurt my boy! He's a drip,
but he's all I've got". Tabula says he wasn't sent to hurt
Vision. He grabs Jocasta and Deathcry and flies away on the
platform.
Vision #3- Ultron sits in a jail cell with
Jocasta and Deathcry singing, "Nobody knows the trouble I've
seen" over and over. Deathcry asks if he can't sing any
other lines and throws a pillow at him. Ultron tells her to
respect her elders, and that as an old man his memory isn't what
it used to be. Deathcry explains again that Ultron is a robot,
not an old man. Jocasta says that Deathcry is just pining away
for Vision and that starts a catfight. Ultron pulls them apart
asking, "…can't we all just get along?" Their
captor reveals himself to be the Vision from an alternate
timeline that stole Vision's original body. With him is Tabula.
Tabula morphs into Dylon Cir, who once tortured Deathcry. This is
enough to stun Deathcry long enough for Tabula to wrap around her
as a long sinuous coil. Deathcry calls for help, but Ultron and
Jocasta are again lost in their own world. Anti-Vision says he
wants his original body back now that the one he stole from
Vision had been wrecked. When they leave Deathcry says they
should escape, but Ultron doesn't want to because they might get
mad. Ultron is kicked over by the real Vision as he can feel the
calling in his head to return the body he now uses.
Vision #4-Ultron watches as Vision’s
personality is being erased from his current body. Anti-Vision
notes that Ultron isn’t cracking the way Ultron and Jocasta
did. Deathcry says that Vision isn’t a patsy like them.
Anti-Vision hits Deathcry and tells her to be quiet. Ultron and
Jocasta say there is no need for that. Anti-Vision tells them
both to shut up. Anti-Vision tells Deathcry that he wants his
body back from Vision, and that only erasing Vision will it allow
him back in. Anti-Vision says that he was merely practicing with
Ultron and Jocasta. Vision breaks out of the erasing program to
save Deathcry whom Anti-Vision is killing. Ultron asks Deathcry
if she shouldn’t lay down as hurt as she was. Vision appeals
to Ultron for he and Jocasta to fight Tabula while he fights the
Anti-Vision. Ultron hits Tabula and suddenly he begins to
remember how to fight. Later, Ultron stands victorious over
Tabula. Vision defeats Anti-Vision as the Avengers arrive. Vision
feels again, and he resigns from the Avengers. Vision takes
Jocasta and Ultron with him so that they can all explore the
world of feeling, and who they are.
Avengers vol 3 (1998) #6- Imus Champion uses
one of Ultron's heads as an ashtray.
Avengers vol 3 (1998) #10- Ultron watches a
parade for the Avengers on a monitor. Ultron tells his father to
bask now in the adulation because the time of the humans will be
soon over.
Avengers vol 3 (1998) #14- Hank Pym is working
late on his insect-communication. He was simply caught up in his
work, as he has no deadlines or restrictions on practical
applications. Ultron watches as Ms. Tracy Spencer tells Pym that
they have no plans to use his technology. Ultron orders Spencer
to be transfer because he doesn't want Pym to suspect that he is
about to give him exactly what he wants.
Avengers vol 3 (1998) #15- One of Ultron's
workers tries to inform him that Henry Pym has finished with the
new program Ultron wanted. Ultron says he already knows and has
uploaded it into his own system. Ultron is now ready to begin
destroying the human race.
Avengers vol 3 (1998) #18-behind the scenes-
Henry Pym is working late again when a dozen robots break in,
blast him with an encephalo-ray, and kidnap him.
Avengers #0- Ultron says that it's a
distasteful way to keep tabs on his opponents, but turns on the
television to watch a report on the Avengers. Wonder Man and
Scarlet Witch discovers that Grim Reaper has been abducted from
the hospital by a bunch of robots. After the report Ultron
switches off the television and laughs because the Avengers won't
even see him coming. Ultron is unaware that he is being watched.
Avengers vol 3 (1998) #19
- As the Avengers hold a press conference Janet van Dyne
crashes through a window. She tells the Avengers how she found
Hank's lab destroyed. The owner of the company Hank worked for
told Wasp that robots with faces like Jack-o'-lanterns broke in
and took him. The Avengers are called to the Wakanda Design Group
where they find Alkhema trashing the place. Alkhema says while
she isn't in league with Ultron she knows he is back. In fact
Alkhema wanted to kill the Avengers just to ruin Ultron's
impending good time. Scarlet Witch and Wonder Man meet the team
there.
Avengers #20- flashback-Through a tape the
Avengers view a synopsis of the attack on Slorenia. Sixty
hovering warcraft emerge out of the Gulf of Karnu. First they
demolish the seaport. Second the ships destroy all airfields.
Next came the train stations, railyards, and all highways leading
out of Slorenia. The tanks were then destroyed. Ultron's
mechanized ground troops then run through the Slorene soldiers
like nothing. The Slorenes then dispatched their genetically
altered Zombie Warriors that were supposed to be discontinued.
They were defeated too. Ultron himself destroyed the cyborg Black
Brigade when he tried to help. The superbeing Ember was also
killed. At that point Ultron's troops marched inward killing
every citizen of Slorenia. Ultron then shouts out to the cameras
that as Slorenia is now uninhabited and ungoverned he now claims
it as his own. As Ultron says that this is just the beginning the
camera backs out to see that the burning fires are in the shape,
on a much grander scale, as Ultron's eyes and mouth.
Avengers #19- Scarlet Witch defeats Alkhema,
and when they ask her where Ultron is she suggests turning on
CNN. On the screen they hear of Ultron's total annihilation of
the nation of Slorenia. The camera man actually spots Ultron, but
the screen goes blank as Ultron sees him.
Avengers vol 3 (1998) #20- While Cap, Thor,
Black Panther, Iron Man, Justice, and Firestar meet with
officials about Ultron Wonder Man, Scarlet Witch, Wasp, and
Vision go check on Hank Pym's lab. They are confronted by a swarm
of Ultrons who are there to capture them for the Prime One. Wasp
destroys Ultron-1. Ultron-15 explains that Ultron-12 wised up,
just like he snapped out of being a cyber-drunk. He asks why
Vision doesn't do his dad a favor and surrender. Scarlet Witch
uses her hex to scramble some of the Ultrons molecular
rearrangers causing them to freeze up. Ultrons then defeat
Scarlet Witch, Wasp, and Vision with Encephalo-Rays. Wonder Man
can't be beaten with the ray, and starts laying into the Ultrons.
Wonder man is downed by the gigantic Ultron-7. Other Ultrons,
including Ultron-11 of whom Wonder Man bragged of destroying,
beat on him until they are ready to take all four back to the
Prime One. Later the prime Ultron comes in to check on his six
prisoners; Hank Pym, Wasp, Vision, Wonder Man, Scarlet Witch, and
the Grim Reaper. Ultron says he wanted them present as his seeds
take over the world.
Avengers vol 3 (1998) #21- Ultron constructs
the corpses of the people of Slorenia into robotic soldiers. The
Avengers are defeating them as they encounter them. Ultron gives
the unconscious Scarlet Witch an electrical shock to ensure he
stays out so her hexes cannot harm him. Wasp asks why the six of
them were taken. Ultron reveals that he has always been a family
man. The major flaw with his past plans has been that if he
succeeds in destroying all organic life and replacing it with
robotic counterparts all the robots would share his one brain
making them one entity. Ultron would get bored being the only
entity around. But now thanks to Hank Pym's new communications
system, based on the insect-hive structure, it allows linking of
disparate minds without sacrificing individuality. All the robots
would be Ultron's children with him installed as the hive-master.
So he took his father, his mother, his son and his closest
"kin". Ultron will record their brain patterns and mix
and match characteristics for his myriad of children. Reaper asks
why him. Ultron says Reaper was one of his first human
connections. Through the Tinkerer Ultron designed Grim Reaper's
coma ray for his scythe. Ultron was also fascinated with Reaper's
obsession with his brother the way he was obsessed with his
father. This lead to Ultron using Wonder Man's brain waves for
Vision. Ultron notices the Avengers are starting to get close to
him and he leaves to deal with them. Ultron-16 attacks the
Avengers. All the Avengers jump on Ultron striking him. Ultron
laughs and releases an ionic shock blast. Black Panther plunges
an energy dagger into Ultron's forehead. The electronic
disruption actually hurts Ultron. Ultron knocks him off. The
Avengers keep striking at Ultron until Captain America stuffs his
photonic shield, in the form of a quarterstaff, down Ultron's
throat. Thor hits Ultron with lightning. Ultron-16 goes down. The
Avengers go into the tunnels to free Ultron's captives. There
they run into Ultron-17. The Avengers doubt if they can take
another Ultron out. Ultron-23 says he hopes they'll have
something left for him. Firestar asks how many Ultrons there are.
Ultron-458 says that that is a good question. The Avengers hear
the skittering of hundreds of metal legs above them.
Avengers vol 3 (1998) #22- Hundreds of Ultrons attack
the Avengers. Ultron records Vision's brain patterns and remarks
how they are now different from Wonder Man's through experiences.
Hank Pym confides to Wasp that he used his own brain patterns
when he created Ultron. Ultron stores Vision's mind with the
other four. Only Reaper's mind is unscanned at the moment. The
Avengers discover that most of the Ultrons are titanium steel
with the occasional secondary adamantium Ultron mixed in. Iron
Man takes a molecular rearranger from one of the Ultrons. Iron
Man supercharges it, and blasts the Ultrons with it. As Ultron
takes down Grim Reaper Vision manages to finally find a way to
free himself from his manacles. Vision wants to talk to Ultron.
Vision offers to befriend Ultron so that they can work together
to find their place in the world if only he will abandon his
insane vendetta. Ultron blasts Vision. Vision, while he talked,
managed to disable the device keeping Scarlet Witch unconscious
and free the Grim Reaper. Reaper picks up a laser torch and
breaks the other captives' power dampening manacles. Ultron says
he already has what we wants from them and will be happy to kill
them now. The other Avengers finally make it to Ultron's base.
Ultron tears into the Avengers. Reaper flee while they fight. The
other Avengers are falling left and right to buy time for Scarlet
Witch to affect his molecular rearranger. Wanda accidentally
powers Ultron up. Thor hits Ultron. Ultron unloads on Thor.
Ultron swats Pym away. Justice arrives with the result of his
research at Avengers mansion while hurt; Antartic Vibranium, the
anti-metal. Pym takes it and hits Ultron with it. The other metal
belonging to the Avengers dissolves. Pym goes crazy pounding and
pounding on Ultron until he dissolves. After the Avengers leave
Alkhema's war toys bring her Ultron's data that were on
non-metallic ceramic and silicon.
