Void

The Void is the blackest, most evil monstrosity ever known. To be touched by the Void is to be filled with the horror of your million most fearsome nightmares. He wants to eat your soul, and the soul of every other being in creation. The Void never gives up and every time he comes back he is a little stronger and a little more confident. Void is the arch enemy of the Golden Guardian- The Sentry, also known as Robert Reynolds. Where Sentry is light, the Void is darkness. Oh one other thing, the Void is Robert Reynolds. The Void is a psionic being that originates from Robert Reynold’s addiction. His addiction to being a superhero. Who would you rather be- an overweight alcoholic or a super powered idol to the entire world? Everytime Robert remembers what he was he hears the laughter of the Void in his head. And just like an addiction each time he gives into it, it becomes harder to give it up. Be afraid.

Startling Stories featuring the Sentry- (Sentry #1-flashback)- Robby Reynolds finds the Professor’s secret serum and becomes the Sentry for the first time.

Sentry/Hulk- flashback- Human Torch tells Sentry and Hulk that the Void has returned. Hulk leaps behind Sentry to the Void. Hulk hears Void inside his mind saying, “Oh look it’s the emotionally stunted little golden boy and his big green playmate come to chase me away. Let’s see if you have what it takes Hulk. My enemy’s friend is my enemy. I’m going to drag you inside me freak, and pull you apart piece by screaming piece. For joining with the Sentry I’m going to make you pay!” Sentry says that not if he has anything to do with it he won’t. Sentry blasts the Void with light causing Void to scream. Void starts to overpower Sentry. Hulk leaps to Sentry’s aid, but Sentry shouts, “Hulk no! Don’t touch the tendrils!” Hulk tells Shadow Man to leave him alone, but it is too late. Hulk sees the entirity of his life. He sees it all including his own death as he falls to the ground below. Void says, “I’m going to destroy you Hulk. I’m going to be the one who finally drags you into eternity of torment, and when you get there my big green friend I’m going to spit in your face. I will hate you forever because the Sentry loves you. Hulk crashes into a bus.

Sentry #1- flashback- The Void encases the Avengers; Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, Wasp, and Giant-Man, into his cosmic cocoons. Iron Man shouts to Void to let them go, but Void says that with them captive the Senrty will be there soon. Suddenly Sentry bursts through the wall. He grabs Void and throws him. As Void fades away he vows that he will return.

Sentry/Spider-Man- flashback- Sentry approaches Spider-Man for help teaming up against the Void and the Kingpin. Later Spidey and Sentry crash into the offices of Wilson Fisk. Void is standing behind Fisk with a tendril through Fisk and saying, “Now we are one.” Void turns to see who is interrupting. Sentry hits Void, but then Void wraps up Sentry in one of his tendril while stabbing at Spider-Man with another. Sentry tells Spider-Man to see what he can do with Kingpin, and that he will keep Void busy.

Sentry #3- flashback- Void is teamed up with Wilson Fisk. Fisk has taken control of the Sentry’s mind. As Spider-Man approaches the Void warns him to mind his own business.

Sentry/Spider-Man- flashback- Sentry warns Spider-Man to avoid the tendrils, but Void plunges one right through Spider-Man. A million of Peter’s worst nightmares pass through his body. As Spider-Man recovers he manages to pull the Kingpin off Void’s tendril. Void shouts that it is impossible. Spider-Man says that anything is possible as he passes out.

The Sentry #200- (Sentry/Spider-Man-flashback)- Sentry confides in Spider-Man that he can feel that he and the Void are becoming more and more intertwined. He says that he can feel his prescence inside him always.

Sentry #1- flashback- The Professor warns Rob that each time he uses the serum the dosage must be increased. He says that the serum was never designed for prolonged usage. The Sentry flies off with a universe to save.

Sentry: Golden Guardian of Good- The Armageddon Gambit part 4- (Sentry #2-flashback)- In an instant the city is covered in jet black, and only then does the Sentry fully understand what is happening. Void then spikes a talon right through Billy, Sentry’s sidekick. Sentry shouts and the Void explodes taking millions of people with it.

Sentry/Spider-Man- flashback- The entire sky fills a dark black. The Hulk screams in pain. After that the Sentry went missing. And then nobody could remember him.

Sentry: Golden Guardian of Good- The Turn of the Sentry-(Sentry #4- flashback)- The Fantastic Four finds dead and mutilated bodies all around. The see Sentry shrouded in black shouting, “Get away from me!”

Sentry vs. Void- flashback- The Fantastic Four finds mutilated bodies everywhere. They can’t find the Sentry and figure that he must be dead. Finally the spot Sentry shrouded in black and shouting, “Get away from me!” Reed realizes that Sentry is the Void.

Sentry #4- flashback- Dr. Strange, Reed, and the Avengers confront Sentry. Strange says that in light of recent revelations that someone has to be held accountable. Captain America says that Sentry has to admit that he has been relying on the serum more and more. Sentry tries to convince them that it can all be turned to their advantage, and that the Void would never return again. Reed reminds Sentry what he once told him, “Now is a time for vigilance.”

Sentry vs. Void- flashback- Sentry stands among the Avengers and Reed. Everyone there knew that he was the Void, and that he had just killed a million people and destroyed half a city. Sentry decides that he must die. That night Rob and Reed got very drunk together. Sentry tells Reed that he has suspected for some time that he might be the Void, but he just couldn’t admit it to himself. Sentry was afraid that he couldn’t give up being the Sentry. He was afraid that he would change his mind. It was then that Reed came up with the idea of hypnotizing the world, including Rob Reynolds himself, that the Sentry never existed. Sentry tells Reed that they would have to bury him first because nobody would accept the horrible truth because he is so loved. Sentry says that after he is “dead” that Reed would have to destroy his reputation in order for people’s minds to accept the hypnotism.

Sentry #5- flashback- At his own pretend funeral Bob Reynolds watches Reed Richards tell the world that the Sentry was a traitor.

Sentry vs. Void- flashback- Sentry installs the virus in Cloc to cause the world to forget him. Reed makes a warning for himself on the “Wedding Tape”. Reed makes Strange promise that if they start to remember Sentry that Strange do whatever he can to make them forget. As they leave Reed tells Cloc to take care of itself.

Sentry #4- flashback- Claymore goes to investigate a sudden and total eclipse in Glasgow. The Void skewers him.

Sentry/Spider-Man- Sentry/Hulk- Sentry/X-Men- Sentry/Fantastic Four- Sentry and the heroes stand waiting on Liberty Island as the Void makes his way to the coastline. The Hulk stands with Sentry for the first time admitting to himself that he is afraid. Hulk can hear the Void inside his head saying, “Get ready Frankenstein because I’m coming for you…always for you.” Hulk can hear Void laugh at him in his head.
