Avengers #227- At Ryker’s Island, Plant Man and Wizard are seen in their prison clothes being escorted to a helicopter where they are being transferred to another prison.
Avengers #231- behind the scenes- Plant-Man threatens the Avengers in a machine designed and built by the Wizard.
Avengers #232- behind the scenes- Plant Man attacks the Avengers with a machine built and designed by the Wizard. Plant Man fails and uses the fail-safe device. He is encapsulated within a sphere that starts to rise. A recording from the Wizard comes on and says, that while he appreciates his help in escaping from prison, that if he is hearing this recording then he has blown his chance, and that the sphere is going to take him into orbit where he won’t be of embarrassment to the Wizard.
Avengers #235- The federal institution in Vermont is questioning the Wizard about when the Plant Man might have gotten away and replaced himself with a plant double. Suddenly they discover that the Wizard is a double as well. The double commits suicide and they discover that he was just wood. Wizard is sitting in his home off Long Island. He notices that his mustache and beard have finally grown back. Wizard’s security system warns him that his plant duplicate has been destroyed. Wizard says that he was afraid of this, and thinks about how he never should have associated with Plant-Man. He says that every law enforcement agency will be looking for him. He says that nobody will find him unless they come here, and if they do they will only find a fight on their hands. Wizard gets up to check on his defensive systems. The Avengers are called in. They break into groups to look for him. She-Hulk, Captain America, and Scarlet Witch find the house that he is in. Wizard has She-Hulk continually walking through the same room because of a teleporter on the door. Captain America enters a room where he is fired upon from every direction. Scarlet Witch walks into a room with odd probabilities and slips all over. She-Hulk rips through the teleporter. Wanda uses her hex to send a shock through the room and towards the Wizard. She-Hulk crashes through the wall as Wizard is trying to flee. Wanda messes with his probabilities and Wizard crashes to the ground. Wizard says that he has a nuclear bomb in his house that he will detonate if they don’t let him go. Captain America show Wizard the detonator that he tore out. Wizard is taken into custody.
Secret Wars II #7- Wizard joins Mephisto’s plan to kill the Beyonder in order to protect Death whom Beyonder temporarily eliminated. Mephisto sends out his legions of lackeys, but when they get there the Thing (who was separately contacted by Mephisto to kill Beyonder) has second thoughts as starts to protect the Beyonder. Mephisto’s power boost to the Thing allows his to hold his own against all the villains. The villains fail.

Fantastic Four #326- Wizard has infected the Fantastic Four’s security system. Wizard notes that Reed built it out of the best equipment at the time, and even though it wasn’t that long ago his modern virus has successfully penetrated it. Wizard says that he knows he is still the most intelligent man on the face of the Earth. He thinks how every time Reed Richards defeated him it was because of luck. Wizard also says that Reed had a balanced team with the Fantastic Four while he let his emotions interfere with the Frightful Four. Wizard enters the training room to check on his new Frightful Four- Klaw, Hydro-Man, and Titania. Wizard breaks up their bickering. Wizard says that he has lured Reed Richards back to the Fantastic Four headquarters and that they are now ready to attack. Klaw and Hydro-Man crash into the building. Klaw blasts Ms. Marvel while Hydro-Man blasts Thing. Susan Richards puts a force field around them, but when Titania punches Thing, Klaw feels her concentration lapse and blasts her. When the Wizard arrives he introduces the new Frightful Four. Wizard says that he let himself and Titania in by taking over the buildings automatic defense systems. Klaw is blasting Ms. Marvel, but when she hits him his blast goes wide and hits the Wizard. Hydro-Man bails them out. Klaw forms a giant elephant and he and Titania smash Thing from opposite sides. Thing flies into a device that turns him back into Ben Grimm.
Fantastic Four #327- Wizard is battling Mister Fantastic as Ben Grimm wonders how he managed to change from the Thing. The other Frightful Four are all getting knocked around. Franklin’s powers manifest themselves as he pushes Klaw away. Reed says that it’s like father, like son, but in his case it is his body that surprises. Wizard says that Reed can’t be boasting about a superior mind to him. Wizard says that it seems that they are losing, but Reed’s most powerful teammate is vulnerable. Reed is distracted and looks away. Wizard blasts Reed in the chest and knocks him to the ground. Ben Grimm charges Wizard, but Wizard just blasts him aside. Ms. Marvel decks Wizard into Titania. Before Wizard recovers the Human Torch sets his gloves on fire. Invisible Woman starts whipping the Frightful Four around with her force field. Wizard activates control of the defense systems and creates a diversion. The Frightful Four gets away. Back at their hideout the Frightful Four are shouting at each other. Hydro-Man admits that they all stunk. Wizard tells everyone to leave him alone while he tries to think what to do next. Wizard says that it isn’t fair because Reed’s team grew up together while his team are hired mercenaries. Wizard says that it should have been him that the world adored and gave state of the art facilities. Wizard decides to call in his other member. Reed Richards manages to track their hideout and the Fantastic Four attack them in their building. The Frightful Four is in trouble. Wizard zaps Torch with a chemical that snuffs his flame, but Torch lands on Titania. Reed wraps his arm around Wizard, and Sue bounces him off a few force fields. Suddenly the Fantastic Four collapse. Wizard’s new “members” have arrived: Aron the Watcher and Dragon Man.
Fantastic Four #328- Wizard and his Frightful Five stand over the defeated Fantastic Four. Wizard says that he approached the rebel Watcher and gave him the opportunity to destroy the Fantastic Four. Wizard says that he accepted and it is all thanks to his brilliance. Wizard tells Aron the Watcher that it is time to end their lives. Aron says that he has other plans for them. Wizard says that all plans there are his. Aron says that he takes a contrary view. Aron tells Wizard of his plans to clone the Fantastic Four. Wizard tries to tell Aron that if he gives the Fantastic Four any edge that they will exploit it and defeat him. Wizard says that the Frightful Four will stay together until the Fantastic Four are killed. Wizard attacks and Aron has Dragon Man fight them. The Frightful Four defeat Dragon Man, but then Aron snaps his fingers and knocks them all down. Wizard admits that Aron has power and threatens to tell Uatu where he is. Aron says that he will kill him if he does that. Aron leaves with his tissue samples. Wizard is left with the Fantastic Four. Hydro-Man says that they should kill them now. Wizard doesn’t take his own advice and decides that he wants to torture them first. Titania reminds Wizard of what he just said, but he blows her off. Later the human Ben Grimm finds the Frightful Four. He leaps in and knocks the Wizard out cold with a kick. The Fantastic Four are freed and the Frightful Four are defeated. The Fantastic Four are leading the defeated Frightful Four out when Aron returns with his cloned Fantastic Four.
Fantastic Four #329- Aron the Watcher has the original Fantastic Four and the Frightful Four prisoners inside stasis tubes.

Fantastic Four #333- The Frightful Four are fighting the Fantastic Four when Aron’s pawns arrive. The Reed Richards are arguing over which one of them is the real one. Wizard asks who cares about who is Richards when he is the Wizard and is superior. The clone Thing decks Wizard and the two teams start back in on each other. After watching for a bit Wizard throws anti-gravity discs on the clones of Ms. Marvel and Thing. Wizard says that he gave Richards’ team a chance and that the rest is up to them. The real Fantastic Four wind up winning and spot the Frightful Four running for it. Ms. Marvel hits the ground and knocks them off their feet, but the Wizard is flying. Reed asks Wizard to listen to reason unlike his clone. Wizard asks Richards if Reed places him above his cloned self. Reed says that he does because they are both human. Wizard says that even if he didn’t defeat Richards that he has at least put him in his debt. Reed doesn’t deny it, but that he isn’t letting him go because of it. Aron the Watcher has seen the light and transports the Frightful Four to the maximum-security prison and freezes his Fantastic clones.

Captain America #365- The Red Skull decides to join Loki’s assembly of villains. The Wizard is sitting at the table with Doom and Kingpin.
Iron Man #251
Captain America #366- Wizard continues to sit at the table with the other villains as Loki returns. Loki asks if they have reached a decision on their masterstroke to the Acts of Vengeance. Kingpin says that this is going to take more than one meeting and suggests they retire for now. The vote pass unanimously and each villain heads back towards the dimensional door they passed through to get there.
