The Hulk stands in a murky swamp. A policeman finds the Hulk with a flashlight. The cop takes a shot at Hulk as he runs back to his car. The cop says that he has to go warn the others in town. The cop drives through town and tells everyone to get off the street and to lock their doors. Soon the streets are empty except for the town’s troopers and the Hulk. The troopers are in a truck and they drive it straight into the Hulk. One man says that it is like hitting a brick wall as Hulk punches through the windshield. The men start leaping onto the Hulk, but the Hulk keeps throwing them off. Hulk rips up a lamppost and starts swinging it at the men. Suddenly Rick Jones arrives and the Hulk stops attacking. Rick tells Hulk to follow him and he will lead him to safety.

In space, the Toad Men are hurtling towards the Earth in their magnetic spaceship. One of the Toad Men says that they are close enough to the Earth and has a troop switch on the magnetic grapplers. The grapplers find the most brilliant scientific mind on Earth. The Toad Men descend into the desert to grab that mind and determine how advanced Earth thinking is to prepare for their invasion of Earth. The Toad Men land and use a device to find their victim.

Bruce Banner and Rick Jones are about to head out into the desert when Betty and Thunderbolt Ross come up. Betty says that she has been so worried about Bruce since the Hulk escaped. Ross says that Bruce is a coward and would always be able to find a place to hide. Betty asks Bruce to ignore her father. Bruce says that the Hulk would never bother with a “milksop” like him. Betty asks where Bruce is going with all that equipment. Bruce says that he is off to do a little scientific research.

Bruce and Rick discover an underground cave that they need for their purpose. Bruce says that this natural outcropping under the lake is like an indestructible fortress. Bruce says that it is powerful enough to withstand any assault. Bruce says that it should be strong enough to hold the Hulk each night. Rick says that Bruce can’t keep locking himself up every night, but Bruce says that he has to until he finds a way to stop changing into the Hulk. Bruce and Rick load a ten-foot piece of concrete into place to box the Hulk in. Bruce says that it is up to Rick to lock him up every night and let him out every morning. Rick says that he won’t let Bruce down. Suddenly Rick and Bruce float into the air helpless and pins them against the wall. Giant human sized toads step out of the shadows

Part Two- “Prisoners of the Toad Men!”

The Toad Men tell Bruce and Rick not to struggle and they will not be hurt yet. The Toad Men keep Rick and Bruce elevated as they take them aboard their ship. The ship rockets off into orbit. Rick and Bruce float in the ship. A screen comes on and Torrak comes on introducing himself as Captain of the ship. Torrak says that they have a fleet of ships ready to invade Earth, but first they want to know how scientifically advanced they are. Torrak says that if Bruce refuses that the Toad Men will all fly off so fast that the Earth’s water would fly off with them and the Earth’s magnetic force would reverse. Bruce says that he will never tell them what they need to know. Rick cheers him on. Torrak says that they don’t need Rick there, only Bruce. Torrak flicks his finger and Rick is sent hurtling back to Earth is a guided plastic escape cylinder. Bruce watches as Rick lands on Earth. Suddenly he notices that it is now night again. Bruce turns into the Hulk. Hulk wants to know where he is.

The Toad Men are outside saying that Bruce must be scared enough by now to tell them what they want to know. Suddenly the Hulk rips through the wall and the Toad Men scream. One Toad Men tries to shoot Hulk, but he misses. Hulk grabs the Toad Man and grabs his weapon. Hulk says, “Now you taste the sting of your weapon!” The Toad Men go flying. Hulk tosses them into a windowless chamber and locks them inside. Hulk looks at the Toad Men’s weapons and says that they make Earth’s weapons look like peashooters. Hulk says that with this ship he could wipe out all of mankind. Hulk says that he could become the hunter instead of the hunted.

Back on Earth, Ross tells a soldier that if he has an unidentified flying object above them to shoot it down. The missiles hit the ship and the destroyed husk of the ship falls to Earth. Ross and his men quickly surround the ship.
