Fixit sits having tea or coffee with Foster, Nobby, and the deceased Jimmy Senior. Hulk says that there is something familiar about Nobby Pyles. Hulk says that they keep working for Delfini despite the fact that he is dead. Foster says that the job is better because of it because he always despised the man. Foster says that he serves much better as a figurehead. Foster says that he has a proposition for Fixit. Fixit says that he isn’t interested and that they still owe him two million bucks. Foster hands the two million plus over to Fixit and asks if he would like to hear now. Fixit says that he has what he needs right there and asks for a reason to listen. Foster says that he will give Fixit ten million reasons. Foster says that since Jimmy Senior’s death he has transformed the Delfini family into a two billion-dollar a year industry. He says that the only thing getting in his way are Delfini’s three moron sons.

Nobby asks what they need Fixit for. He says that he could kill them easily. Foster says that for appearance’s sake they don’t want it to look like a takeover. Foster says that he wants to make it look like Nobby is the Delfini savior. Foster says that if Nobby showed up just as Fixit was finished killing the Delfini boys and chased him away… Fixit says that he isn’t agreeing to that. He says that he is a legend. Foster says that what he is, is a mercenary, and that it is ten million or nothing.

The Delfini boys are rallying up all the guys that Fixit smacked around. They get all pumped up to take out the Chinese that junior got “information” that they were involved. Dicky reminds Junior that dad said they weren’t supposed to shoot up anything. Junior says that dad doesn’t have what it takes to be a Delfini anymore.

Foster and Nobby wait on the rooftop across the street from the boarded up China Gate restaurant. Foster says that the Delfinis are nothing if predictable as they approach the restaurant with all the mob. Foster says that soon they will be running the Delfini mob.

When Nobby Pyles was younger he slept near the old nuclear power plant and fished in the nearby water. The other children mocked Nobby for his gangly appearance. Nobby became a homicidal maniac to compensate for his lack of love and affection. Nobby probably would have continued on this path towards execution, except something happened one night when he was robbing an old lady who had two poodles with her. That night was always Nobby’s secret shame.

The Delfinis and their gang enter the restaurant, but find only Mister Fixit waiting for them. Many of the men who were already beaten on by Fixit run for it, but junior and others stay and start firing. Fixit goes to work.

Foster says to Nobby to just wait a few more minutes and then he can go in. Nobby says that he has a better idea. Foster looks back to see Nobby about to hit him with the dead body of Jimmy Senior.

Fixit is down to the three Delfini brothers, but then he spots Nobby in the doorway. Fixit goes into his rehearsed line about never bothering them again, but instead of doing his line Nobby punches Fixit. Nobby turns to the Delfinis. Junior yells at Nobby to go finish Fixit. Nobby knocks the three Delfinis into a hole and says that he will be back for them in a minute. Fixit says that Nobby came in too early, and that he was supposed to pull his punch. Nobby agrees that he was supposed to and then hits Fixit again knocking him through the wall. The two fight back and forth for a bit. Nobby knocks Fixit into a pet store where a snake wraps around him. Fixit, without thinking about it, crushes the snake’s head. Fixit says that he could swear that he heard something about Pyles in Vegas and then he remembers what it was. Fixit looks over at the puppies.

Nobby comes in and says that he heard about Fixit back when he was in Vegas, and that he never figured he was that much. Fixit says that he heard about Nobby too. Hulk throws some puppies on Nobby and he collapses in fear. Hulk remarks that he heard that Nobby had his “undercarriage” bitten off by an old lady’s poodles, and that he was called No Nuts Nobby. Nobby lies on the ground crying and says that he will kill Fixit for this.

Junior had just about climbed out of the hole when Fixit returns and knocks them back. Nobby is on the ground whimpering with puppies taped to him. Junior says to stop gloating, and that if he is going to kill them to get on with it. Fixit says that he is prepared to show them mercy, but that it will cost them ten million dollars.

Fixit drives home and tells Banner in the recorder that he has hidden the money so well that he could never find it. He says that Junior took over for Jimmy, and that the other two are in charge of operations and finances.

No Excuses rating: 3 out of 10

This issue reads a little better as far as Fixit goes, though his speech goes back and forth between Fixit style and Thing style. The plot is lame, Nobby Pyles’ origin is stupid, and the fight at the end is a stupid way to end an issue. Sure Fixit was into trickery and sneakiness, but he wouldn’t let a decent fight pass up just to pull one. Fixit likes trickery within fighting. Once again this issue doesn’t have any sort of demonstration of Hulk’s power or prowess. The story is devoid of purpose, and in my opinion entertainment.

The art is still lousy, and even the “fight” scene is poorly done.
