The now-monstrous She-Hulk has the Rumbler by the throat, and is about to kill him!  To defend himself, the Rumbler rips apart the parking lot with an earthquake, and drops all the rubble upon She-Hulk, burying her alive again! He starts to gloat, while he fixes his hair--but his victory is short lived, as She-Hulk smashes her way free! She smashes her fists into the ground, creating a shockwave that throws the Rumbler into one of the craters.  She then starts throwing rocks at him! David, finally realizing that his life is in serious danger, tries to calm her down; "Huh-hey!  Take it easy, babe!"

Being called "babe" only infuriates her more, and she says that her name is She-Hulk, not "babe", "chick" or "girlie"! She lifts a huge rock and is about to crush him with it, when she sees her reflection in one of the car windows. Jen is shocked to see how ugly and monstrous she has become!  However, rather than being upset, she is pleased!  She feels stronger than ever before, and feels free to do whatever she wants! She is about to kill Rumbler, when Moe and Weezi start calling out at her from his hospital room.  They urge her to calm down and come back up to them. She-Hulk yells at her father that he doesn't get to tell her what to do anymore! While She-Hulk is distracted, Rumbler fires a barrage of rocks at her face!  He then pushes his earthquake powers farther than ever before, hoping to bury She-Hulk so deep that she won't be able to get free!  However, he pushes too far and loses control, and winds up burying himself!

As the Rumbler disappears into the earth, She-Hulk says that he just saved her the trouble of killing him herself.  She-Hulk then shrinks back down to her usual size and appearance.  Her anger fades away along with the extra power, and she looks around in horror at what she's done.  She is scared that she'll become that monster-She-Hulk again, and worries how far she'll go next time.

She-Hulk and Wyatt quickly head to DeVasquez Research Technologies, so that Zapper can examine her and find out what caused her to transform into that "savage" She-Hulk. This is the first time that Zapper and Wyatt meet.  Wyatt tries to make some friendly small talk, but Zapper cuts him off and dismisses him while he takes She-Hulk away to be examined.

In the lab, while Zapper sets up the examination equipment, Jen points out that he was rude to Wyatt outside.  Zapper says that he didn't have time for chitchat while they needed to do this examination. While Zapper runs some tests, Jen recalls everything that has happened to her over the past few days, with War Zone, the gamma-eating toxin, the Rumbler, and her death, and the fact that she still doesn't know who is responsible for the attack.

Zapper finishes running the tests, and says that he is accidentally responsible for her transformation.  When he was reviving her, he accidentally gave her an overdose of gamma-radiation.  However, he says that she used up the excess energy in her fight with the Rumbler, so she shouldn't be turning into the Savage again.  Jen is relieved by that. Zapper looks into Jen's eyes, and says that the last time he was looking into her eyes like this, she was telling him that she was leaving him for New York and the Avengers. "But now you're back home in L.A… back where you belong!"  Zapper grabs Jen and starts kissing her.

At that moment, Christina and Hector check in on the lab with the security cameras.  Christina shows this to her father as "proof" that She-Hulk is trying to steal Zapper away from her.  Unable to watch anymore, Christina has him turn off the video.  Sobbing, Christina begs her father to help her save her marriage.  He promises to do whatever he can.

Back in the lab, She-Hulk shoves Zapper away.  She says she was willing to overlook that last kiss he gave her, but no he's gone too far.  She is shocked that Zapper would try to cheat on his wife, but she refuses to have any part in it.  She urges him and Christina to get marriage counseling, and says that she won't see him anymore until they do.  She then storms out of the lab, slamming the door behind her. As Jen leaves, Zapper knows that she is going back to Wyatt Wingfoot, and he blames Wyatt for stealing the only woman he's ever loved.

As Jen and Wyatt get back into the car, Wyatt can see that Jen is upset about something, and tries to talk to her about it.  However, she makes it very clear she doesn't want to talk about it… or anything having to do with "Dr. Daniel Ridge".   Wyatt quickly changes the subject, noticing the necklace that Jen is wearing...the same necklace that her mother gave her in the Postmortem Mall! Jen remembers that the necklace was a gift from her mother, but she can't remember anything else.  The necklace looks brand new, but her mother died 15 years ago. Jen starts to have a few other hazy recollections of her experience while dead, and starts to wonder if she is going crazy.  Then she notices everyone on the street staring at them, and wonders why.  Wyatt tells her that everyone believes she is dead.

Soon, She-Hulk has a statement released in the news confirming her resurrection.  At Avengers Mansion, and Fantastic Four headquarters, Jen's teammates and friends are relieved to hear she is alright. However, Reed Richards worries that as long as She-Hulk mysterious attacker is still out there, Jen may still be in danger.

Back at L.A., Jen, Wyatt and Weezi are gathered in Moe's hospital room, and they are all watching the news on TV.  Jen is looking forward to things getting back to normal, now that her medical problems have been resolved. At that moment, Greg Hallerhand enters the room, introducing himself as a producer of daytime soap operas, including "Heartbreak Hospital", which he falsely claims to be a number one hit.  He also brought a get-well present for Moe...an amethyst healing crystal.  Moe thanks him, but thinks to himself what an idiot Hallerhand is for bringing him a rock, after he and his daughter were buried alive. Jen wants to know exactly what Hallerhand wants.  He tells her he wants her to guest star on "Heartbreak Hospital" as Nurse Jennifer Emerald.  He plans to air the show live for sweeps week, but he also wants a special guest star, and that she'll be perfect… her popularity is higher than ever with her return from the dead.  He offers to pay her ten thousand dollars. Jen is reluctant, saying that after everything she and her family have been through, she'd just like to rest for a while. Hallerhand points out that she was dead and asks how much more rest she needs?  He offers to donate her salary to the charity of her choice.  Moe thinks it sounds like a good idea, and Wyatt and Weezi agree.  With everyone ganged up on her, Jen reluctantly agrees.

On the day of filming, just moments before air time, Jen confesses to Wyatt that she is nervous.  She is afraid that she'll mess up her lines and make a fool of herself on live TV.  Wyatt assures her she'll be fine, and Hallerhand agrees.  Hallerhand also thinks to himself that it doesn't matter if she screws up, because her beautiful body alone is enough to boost their ratings!

The filming begins, with a scene at a party, being hosted by a Dr. Quarterbain.  The party is crashed by Zack Colt, who confronts Quarterbain about the fate of Nurse Emerald.  He accuses Quarterbain of performing experiments on her, injecting her with chlorophyll while searching for a cure for halitosis, but the experiment failed, turning her skin green and killing her. Quarterbain says that Colt will never be able to prove these allegations.  Colt says that his companion might prove otherwise, and in walks She-Hulk as Nurse Jennifer Emerald. Quarterbain begins to stammer, and asks Jennifer to step into his private office to continue this conversation.  Jennifer strips down to her bikini, and says she'd rather step into his hot tub. Jen is annoyed at the way the script is blatantly exploiting her sexuality, but she keeps reminding herself that this is for charity.

Suddenly, War Zone smashes onto the set to attack She-Hulk!

Well, we kept the same penciler for two issues in a row--but we switched inkers, so the art still looks different.  The lack of consistency with the artwork is definitely hurting this storyline. Another problem I think this storyline has is that it is trying to do too much at once.  I guess Michael Eury is trying to make an impression by having his first storyline be packed with excitement, but the problem is that there is so much going on, things aren't being given the amount of time and space they need to play out properly.  This could actually be two or three good storylines, but instead it becomes one jumbled mess of a storyline. Although Zapper's portrayal in this story isn't particularly favorable for a long-time supporting player, I can buy his obsession with She-Hulk.  In a way, it had already been hinted at, when Byrne revealed that his wife was a She-Hulk look-alike.  So, the groundwork is already there for Zapper to be obsessed.  However, as I said last issue, I don't believe the way Christina is responding to it.  She is making completely illogical assumptions and not reacting in a realistic fashion. There are way too many unanswered questions about the Rumbler.  We have established what the history is between him and Sheriff Walters, but where did these powers come from?  How did he come back from the dead--or was he ever dead in the first place?  And if he wasn't dead, then why has he not aged at all? These questions are just completely ignored. We have a new plot element added with the necklace that mysteriously came back with Jen from the afterlife.  And, once again, the Hypeline blurb on this issue is inaccurate: "Wyatt Wingfoot is kidnapped".
