Hulk throws a giant rock at Spider-Man as he holds another rock in his hand. Spidey grabs a hold of it and is thrown clear out of the water as he rides the rock. Spider-Man wonders why he does these things, and thinks that there has to be an easier way to live his life. He leaps off the rock before it smashes against the remaining part of the dam and says that if he didn’t know any better that he would say he was suicidal. He says that if he is ever going to amount to anything in the super-hero biz that he is going to have to go tangle with the Hulk and stop him from flooding the valley. The other rock Hulk was holding flies out of the air. Suddenly rock after rock is shooting out of the water. Hulk says that he is tired of soldiers and tired of water. Hulk swings his arms and creates a tidal wave. The army trucks are washed over. Hulk leaps out of the water and says that soldiers can’t bother him anymore. Spidey watches Hulk go and wonders what Ross is going to do now.

Ross sends for a helicopter. The pilots say that they anticipated his orders and that they are already on their way. Ross boards the helicopter. He tells the soldiers to blanket the area. He says that he is headed back to Montreal and that they can get in contact with him there. Spidey decides to hitch a ride on the helicopter. He says that he already has the pictures that he needs, and that it is time for him to pay some attention to the real reason he came there… his Aunt May.

Peter heads to the lawyer’s office, but decides that he should call in to Gwen and see how Harry is doing. Peter apologizes to Gwen for calling collect. Gwen tells Peter that he has to come back home quickly. She tells him that Harry is “back-flashing” to the bad trip that he had a few months ago. Peter asks what she means. Gwen says that Peter is so naïve and that Harry has been into drugs again. She says that it is something about his father and some sort of pressure. Peter says that he will be back as soon as he can. Peter wonders what he should do now. He says that Gwen seems to think that he can be of some help, but that he doesn’t understand how. Peter thinks that maybe Harry just needs a friend who is there for him instead of one that swings away in the night. Peter starts blaming himself when he notices that a man has been following him since he got to Montreal. Peter ducks into an alley. His follower is confused when he realizes that Peter lost him. Suddenly the man is lifted into the air by Spider-Man. Spidey scales up the side of a building. The man says to let him go, but Spidey says that he wants some answers first. The man refuses and Spider-Man drops him. He hits the man with some webs to stop his fall and asks if he is ready to act friendly. He asks why and who hired him to follow Peter Parker. The man says that he was hired by Doctor Octopus, and that he is interested in Parker’s aunt. A spotlight hits Spidey. Spidey says that he thinks that there must be a conspiracy against him. He says that this kind of stuff never happens to any of the other “costumed clowns”. General Ross bullhorns up to Spider-Man that he wants to know where the Hulk is. Spider-Man asks why he would know. He says that he is the one that “pulled your fat out of the fire, General”. Ross tells Spider-Man not to get cute. He says that he knows his game and that he and the Hulk are in on this together. Ross asks why else they would both be in Canada at the same time. Spider-Man says that Ross wouldn’t believe him if he told him. Spidey says that they are all the same “… no basic trust in human nature!” Spidey webs a ball of web into the spotlight and shatters it. Spidey leaps away. The man that was following Peter says that he can’t just leave him there. Spidey says that the webs will dissolve in an hour if the army doesn’t get him down first.

Peter changes back into his street clothes and heads to the office. Miss Delon says that she was starting to think that he had forgotten their date. Pete says that there wasn’t a chance and asks if she found anything out. Miss Delon says that their files are empty and that Mr. Rimbaud wanted to handle the matter personally. She asks if he wants to talk to him. Peter says that is why he is there. As they walk out of the office together, Peter asks where they are going. Miss Delon says that they are headed to the Expo 67. She says that Rimbaud is representing the contractor that is planning on building on the new site. Peter says that with any luck he will be able to catch the late plane back to New York. A man watches Pete and Ms. Delon as they get into a cab and ride away. They ride over a bridge to a man made island, not noticing the car following them all the way. Suddenly the taxi comes to a halt right in front of the Hulk. Hulk sees the headlights and says that the bright lights make his head hurt. Hulk says that he came there to hide because he was tired of soldiers and fighting. Hulk says that he is sick of it. He rips the road up and flips the taxi over. The driver and Miss Delon are knocked unconscious. Peter says that in order to find out what Rimbaud wanted to tell him that it seems like he is going to have to fight the Hulk. As Peter runs off to change he says that it is nine o’clock now, and that the last flight leaves at midnight. He says that he promised Gwen that he would come back as soon as he could.

Spider-Man leaps up and hits Hulk in the back with a web. He asks Hulk if he remembers how he spoiled his fun at the dam. Hulk says that he remembers and that he is still mad. Spidey says that he thinks he was counting on that. Spider-Man tells Hulk to follow him. Spidey climbs up to the cables that the sky coach rides on. He draws the Hulk into the path, but Hulk just lets it ram into him. Hulk says that Spider-Man talks too much. He says that if he wants to fight then fight, but that if he doesn’t want to fight to just leave him alone.

The soldiers Ross is with detect a seismic disturbance in the middle of the St. Lawrence River. They ask what could have caused it, but Ross says that it could only be the Hulk.

Spider-Man tells Hulk that he can’t leave him alone if he wants to look at himself in the mirror the next morning. Spider-Man says that Hulk is dangerous and that he can’t just walk away. Spidey flips up onto a structure, but Hulk tells Spider-Man that he talks too much and slams into the base of the structure. Spidey leaps off and continues goading the Hulk. Peter figures that as long as the Hulk is after him that he won’t be a danger to anyone else. Hulk pulls over the steel structure Spider-Man was on and starts smashing it up. Hulk says that he always has to listen to people that think they are smarter than him. Hulk says that words don’t matter. He says that only strength matters and that he is the strongest one there is. Spider-Man tells Hulk that he ruined an entire geodesic dome and that he hopes he is happy. Spider-Man leaps up onto a column. Hulk says that he doesn’t care about domes and that he doesn’t even know what that means. Hulk tears the pillar apart.

Mr. Rimbaud arrives on the scene and finds Miss Delon and the overturned taxi. He says that the officers with him are from the military and that he was told something odd was happening. He asks Ms. Delon what is happening. She tells him that she was with Parker, but that he is missing and that the monster must have taken him. Rimbaud says that they must find him and that he has something very important to tell him.

Hulk swings the pillar at Spider-Man. Spidey dodges, but Hulk grabs his ankle as he does so. Hulk throws Spider-Man into one of the fallen pillars. Spider-Man says that he has to do something, but that it is too late for that now. Suddenly, Ross arrives in a helicopter and starts shooting at Hulk. Hulk says that it is soldiers with guns again. Hulk says that he has had enough and leaps away.

Peter returns to the taxi and finds Mr. Rimbaud there. The man that was following Peter and Miss. Delon lurks in the shadows. He says that he has a job to do. Peter and Mr. Rimbaud start to speak, but Rimbaud is shot in the back by the man. The police chase after him, but Rimbaud is already dead.

As she walks Peter to his plane, Miss Delon tells him that he mustn’t blame himself. She says that Mr. Rimbaud was not a man without enemies. Peter says that he will try to remember that and that maybe he will see her again when things are happier. Peter bids farewell to Montreal as he flies to New York.

Tangled Web rating: 7 out of 10

Actually the plot to this one is kinda lame. It’s pretty much the same thing as last issue. The only relevant information is that the lawyer Rimbaud is shot and killed, but that’s not much to plot after an entire issue. The art, however, was great Gil Kane and John Romita together… how cool is that?
