The Thunderbolts easily have the most unique origin of any superhero team in the history of the Marvel Universe.. .they were trying to take over the world. The Thunderbolts were the Masters of Evil. Led by Baron Zemo, who was ironically disguised as Citizen V, the Thunderbolts were all hardened criminals until the team met Jolt. Jolt was a young, energetic, and enthusiastic super powered teenager. Through their adventures, the public's love of the team, and coupled with Jolt's attitude the team decided that they wanted to rehabilitate themselves and be superheroes for real.
That's right ... they wimped out! The baddest group of Avengers' foes take the easy way out and decide to suck up to the people in an attempt to "redeem" themselves. Bleah. There will be no patting the Thunderbolts on the back for making something of themselves here. They were something! They were the Masters of Evil.
To make matters worse... Abner Jenkins, formerly the Beetle, and now sell out MACH IV has set up a New Thunderbolts! The ruination of the super-villain community continues!
